so i just installed a evga gtx 670 4gb for plans for sli and 3d surround later. i came from a sapphire radeon hd 6870, which served me very well and left me with no negative feelings towards amd. anyways, the 6870 with almost all the settings on max (shadows on high instead of ultra and something else) got around 45-50+ fps in heart of the mists area (which is nromally decently crowded on my server). i havnt even tried world vs world and honestly i dont even pve really so i dont knwo what to expect in those. but in uncrowded areas the fps was amzing, in crowded areas and lions arch im not so sure about. its kind of sporadic sometimes it will hover in the 40s in some areas but other crowded areas still higher. so instead i ran out to one of those huge wall zerg with a million people and the frames stayed right around 30 in the huge battle with all those people.

so basically i just want to know what is acceptable frames for this card? what should i be looking for or expecting?i hear all these horror stories about 6xx series, so far it seems to be doing ok. and my cpuo is intel i5 2500k @ 4.3 ghz and i will probably oc the crap out of this card

lol yea that was you then, we got to talking in tells about builds after battling each other a few times on opposite teams.

only read the first few posts, but i would have to say i would love to see “battle zones” where pvp is activated. there can be so much done with zones like those. quests where opposing sides have different parts that lead them to the same spot for due battle, etc.

i use razer nostromo so i dont really have a rpoblem moving and using any abilties. i also use the razer naga so life isnt that tough. the the poster above me…do you use razer naga? seems like something that muse would be capable of

Hmm, not sure what I am doing wrong but I treid using SweetFX and the GW2 client will not launch…. no errors…nothing just a slight pause as if its launching…even see the window for a sec or 2 then gone. Remove the SweetFX files from the GW2 directory and GW2 client works fine??

I swear I can never win. Been on the fence for months what cards to push eyefinity/surround. Finally grab the gtx 670 4gb for plans to sli later and then this. I’m gonna wait for benchmarks and see how this one 670 runs in gw2. If it has problems like I read a lot of 6xx users have then I’m selling it and going xfire sapphire 7970. Not to mention the bus speed on 7970 I might just go eyefinity catleaps

Tera online you can get one shotted for sure especially by archers

I have the same problems the OP is talking about. It’s already hard enough to differentiate between stun and immobilize. But after it wears off you might think you will just start running and you won’t. Sometimes I have to reapply a movement button 2 or 3 or 4 times until I move

Using hdmi cable. Also found out when I first got it about 3 or 4 years ago that I have to plug it into HDMI 2 port of the tv

So I I normally play at 1920×1080i regular fullscreen on a 32inch LCD. I went to try out windowed mode and it gets unbelievably blurry. I’ve tried messing with everything in CCC, have the tv on 30hz interlaced and never have any problems on full screen. Any windowed mode is unusable, here are my specs and any help is greatly appreciated.

G skill 1600 MHz ddr3 8gb (2×4)
Toshiba 1080i 32 inch LCD
Gigabyte udh b3 mobo

I think the problem is a B2P game is going to attract a much greater amount of children to it. The everything is OP thing is definitely a trend on the board. I think it’s just cuz of the amount of kids that play it, where there are children, there is immaturity.

See the things with classes like theifs or Mesmer is that I learned to fight them and will do quite well with most classes. But problem I have is the guardians and warriors. More so guardians, but these 2 classes definitely need some abilities toned down. To be able to hit harder then everyone and still have more health and defense and stun lock people to death in seconds or the crazy amounts of healing. It seems like every class has its trade offs, but not these two. Can Burst you faster then a thief, with more armor and health to boot, and heal themselves nonstop/condition cures.

did you read my post? please read them and back again. i never meant “please make a button to kill mesmer easily”. i am talking about overpowered skills. i saw many people who complained that mesmer is too annoying. it means mesmer has some OP skills. it is not my opinion. it is the most people’s opinions. i didn’t see many threads about mesmer clone skills. so i decided to post this thread.

the problem is you can’t see which one is real. and even if you target the mesmer(ctrl+click) and you see red thing on his head for a while. it will disappear suddenly. there is no way you can see real one if the red thing on his head is gone. and mesmer uses stealth or blink, it is more harder to see real one. it is impossible to see real one in fighting.

and i said they are all high rank. and they are not stupid like you. they have all jobs and good lives. and they played gw2 for many days. but still they say it is too hard to kill mesmer and mesmer is too annoying. and whenever they fight mesmer, they start complaining about mesmer. and i said why mesmer is OP. because the red thing on his head is gone suddenly when he uses some skill.

and if someone in your team targets other enemy. and if other enemy gets the red thing on his head, it is impossible to know which mesmer is real.
and if mesmer uses greatsword, the clone uses greatsword. i saw that mesmer spawns many clones and he doesn’t move on purpose. and people couldn’t be able to attack real one for a while. you must kill 3 clones in fighting. there were many enemies. do you really think you have enough time to kill those 3 clones or know real mesmer in fighting? i think you never played tournament or you always met weak team in tournament. but most people in tournament are way too stronger than random server.

only noobs or rude people say L2P. strong people know they are strong. they never say L2P. and spamming overpowered skills like thief and mesmer is not Learn to Play.

Well that’s not OP that’s just a little thing called working as intended. This is basically the same thing as crying about how often/long a thief can go invisible. Just learn to counter it man, one of the best things you can do is play the class and you will see.

But I won’t just bash this thread, I will give some insight as well. To me, it’s all about movement. 8 or 9 times out of 10 the Mesmer will be moving or attacking in a way that gives him right up. You will also need to take notice of mainly the boons, but the conditions as well (hp also). Either they are attacking or they are running. I don’t think many Mesmers play the hide and seek game where they don’t attack or just stand there. By mainly they will always be moving or attacking in such a fashion a clone would not. I believe clones use only the 1 skill the Mesmer has when summoned as well as no offhand. Believe it or not if you have trained yourself to actively look for the clues (or just know what to look for) then it’s really not that hard.

Please in the future try to refrain from assuming something’s overpowered just because you don’t understand it. There are better things you can complain about the mesmer for. I mean the warlock can do upwards of 8-9k+ in a single attack depending on targets conditions, and here you are complaining about the feather wielding clones. Though I am a firm believer that all the classes are for the most part balanced and some skills just need to be toned down. But it’s a mechanic of the class that won’t change, and it apparently was implemented quite well. I mean its annoying to me how much a thief can go invisible, but that’s a dynamic of the class they were built to be likes that. You just have to find out how to deal with it or not at all.

Have a sapphire radeon hd 6870I bought back in April, has been awesome ever since. In GW2 get an average of 55-60 in everything (haven’t played wvw yet), with basically everything on high except shadows (medium). I have a 630 watt power supply. Also did very well in Tera online which is a much more demanding game.

Getting ready to build a new rig so if you want a sapphire 6870 for cheaper then a 6850 shoot me a pm.

Unfortunately in the world of mmos nothing matter before max level and the games are judged simply by what there is to do at max level. Swtor hd the same issue with a lack of end game and gw2 is lacking way behind even the low bar swtor set.

Now I’m a pvper so I don’t even have a toon past level 2 so luckily I have a whole game to look forward to if pvp ever gets boring (doubt it).

However mmo players can’t enjoy nything until they hit max level sure some people enjoy leveling a couple toons but in the end the retention rate can only stay high for anet or any mmo game by making sure there’s more to do after max level rather then before it.

Didn’t read through all 3 pages but I will disagree. Gw2 is amazing to me I’ve just been enjoying the game my highest character is only like level 10 and I started in head start. I enjoy pvp to no end, haven’t even tried wvw yet. I find it absolutely astounding that I can pick a class and play it at level 80 with all abilities and traits against other in a match where gear means nothing basically. I had a really hard time picking a clas because I liked so many and it’s more about play styles so I tried them all. I just started getting to the pve this week and I’m in no rush, loving it so far.

I was 14 when I picked up my first mmo back in 2004 which was Everquest online adventures. Back then I loved the grind, I had nothing to worry about, I could play all day if I wanted. But now I’m 23 and have a fulltime job, other hobbies, gym, a girlfriend, friends, I enjoy many other things. When the weekends come that means my friends and I almost always will be going out. So it’s great to be able to pop in and play for a few hours when I can and not have to worry about only getting 5 levels in a month

@OP: Nostromo is awesome – you can also map it to handle number keys and function keys by using the thumb buttons (arrow defaults) to toggle alternate modes… so basically I never have to take my hand off the nostromo unless I need to chat.

2. click on Add in the lower left corner, link to GW2.exe and select it after you made it.
3. open the pull-down menu behind “right button” and select simulated keys
4. enter {RMB} in the field and select “8 Sticky…” and hit ok.
5. click “Apply” and you are done and no changes need to be made in game.

Yes I use the razer nostromo with the naga combined with the mobo chair arms rest mount on a comfy chair + 32inch almost like playing playStatin. I basically assign keys To them then bind the commands. All attack commands on nostromo along with weapon switch and esc. Then dodge and jump on next to left mouse and the rest is misc stuff like targeting and auto run ad what not. Only ever have to use the keyboard to type really. Also have a program that makes it so I only have to click the right mouse button when I want to move the camera instead of holding it down anId releasing it to do that.

I haven’t held down that right button ever. I came from Tera online and they had amazing controls and combat which I tried my hardest to emulate.

Here’s the fix
