While i love to have close up shots to the posterior body parts of the female norn, i would also love to be able to see more than above the shoulders of my character.
By far, the Norn females have the weirdest camera height i’ve encountered, i’m either looking at their butts or over their heads, to compare, here’s my female HUMAN ele, and the camera is perfect there.
I’ve tried adjusting the camera with the new camera settings but they don’t change the camera angles enough to compensate for this.
Here are 2 examples of what i mean, all taken at max zoom and max vertical height, once with “adjust to character height” and the other without.
Please ANet, fix the camera heights.

I’m a bit surprised at some of these. I occasionally run EotM but e.g. mesmers with scepter and especially torch are not a rare sight. Engineers with shield are really good roamers as far as i know, i’ve seen quite a few roaming videos too with pistol/shield engis. Elixir gun is also supposed to be good because of its utility.
Scepter for ele is more of a PvE weapon, that’s true, so that is kinda rare in WvW zergs… staff does the job perfectly there.
I don’t know about guardians cuz most of them usually have staff out, but i know i’ve been doing some zerging with mace (traited for more healing), apart from that it does seem like a rare choice.
i hope you know that EOTM isn’t actually wvw, it has become a PVE train so you are more likely to find PVE builds rather than wvw builds in there
I always fiddled with mace but it’s too restricting for a mobile style of play.
Sword 2 offers a great escape and mobility tool, axe offers solid damage, mace mh offers a punt 1 second daze and a single attack block, while oh mace 5 suffers the same as ele staff air 3, which is missing all day long.
I wish i can be bothered to run after the luminescent set.
Can anyone help confirm this please??
My experiences come mostly from wvw zerging and havoc groups, as well as some open world pve.
These are the weapons that i least encountered over my gw2 career:
Warrior: mace mh and oh, rifle, shield, axe mh and oh.
Mesmer: scepter, torch, and sword oh.
Engineer: shield, elixir gun, tool kit.
Elementalist: scepter.
Necromancer: axe.
Guardian: shield, mace.
I would like to see more uses for these weapons outside niche builds without gimping oneself.
it was actually from the March 16th patch…
so it’s not my RAM / CPU / GPU going bananas?
edit: this also happens when i use the zepherite air crystals from dry top
This is a fairly new thing, never noticed it before april fools, and that is my character twitches when i have my weapon drawn out and jumping.
It doesn’t happen with all races or with all weapons, the following are all the class/race/weapon combos i have tried that exhibit this:
Elementalist / Human / Staff
Warrior / Norn / Longbow
Engineer / Human / Rifle-Flamethrower-Elixir gun
Please if possible, someone test any of these and confirm if it happens with you as well or not.
As a response to this though, i have run the “-repair” command in the gw2 shortcut before confirming these results.
Hi everyone.
My regular ping to guild wars servers (i.e different map zones) has always been 80~110ms (i use windows resource monitor to check my ping), but for a week now, it’s been running around 110~140, sometimes even 150.
so what i did was run a ping plotter and the high ping always shows after the packets leave my ISP’s network.
Here’s a small sample just to clarify what i’m talking about.
Speaking to my ISP does absolutely nothing, if there’s any hope of this getting fixed it’ll be from ANet’s side.
What is going on???, the ping is even increasing now.
The question is are you lagging that Ping is not to bad. People play on worse ping then that and do not have lag. It looks like your are having issues with packet loss from tedata.net this is outside of Anet control good luck:
this has always been like that from my ISP’s side, because they limit the ping request responses.
that’s nothing try playing on 450 constant with 250 at lowest thanks to living in Australia/New Zealand and spikes up to 2000 and no way of fixing it.
i feel for you aussies :/

soooooo, does fractional condition duration deal damage or not??
Patch notes:
“Updated condition damage. Previously, a condition that had a fractional remainder of time after it dealt damage would not inflict the rest of its damage. For example, a 1.5-second burn would deal 1 second of burning damage, then fail to inflict the remaining 0.5 seconds of burning. Conditions will now deal this fractional damage either at the beginning or end of their duration, depending on when the next damage pulse would occur and their remaining duration.”
HALLELUJAH
any other opinions???
the high ping starts at this ion12.ipv4.gtt.net
That’s the point where you leave your ISP’s private network and enter gtt’s network. You could complain to your ISP about it if you really wanted to. It could simply be that gtt’s network is under load or maintenance, or it could be more business related, as in we want more money or we’re going to give you a poor connection to our network.
As for the jump from 30-40 to 100 entering gtt’s network, that hop is located somewhere around London, then goes off to Frankfurt. A ~60 ms jump implies a bit of distance, which I’m guessing is from Egypt. That’s normal.
Distance is not the factor here, because it was the same provider over the same bandwidth at the same distance before it went up, it just happened all of a sudden, like in an instant, it was pinging 70…71….71…70…..then BAM….90…95…..95…98….95….99…..102….96..
and hasn’t moved back since.
Having said that, as you see, the high ping starts at this ion12.ipv4.gtt.net and stays that high consistently across the following hops.
Used to be 69~74, now it shows ~100
Are you using wireless? The ping to your router is rather high. A wired connection should be <=1ms.
If you actually want to monitor your ping, you’re going to want to actually record the full route like those ping plotter results so that you can compare each hop. There’s too many variables to judge it solely on the ping. Also, with that many hops in your route, +20ms really isn’t that much. Maybe it’s just more active, increasing delays by 1-3ms per hop.
I am aware that wireless adds more, but i’ve tried it with wired before that and the results were the same, i just happened to not have a wired connection when i made this post.
My ping has always fluctuated between 85ms and 110ms ingame, now it’s 110ms to 140ms, regardless whether i use a wired or wireless connection, and across multiple devices.
here’s a little ping plotter just to prove my values
This is a ping plotter to Guildwars2.com
My usual ping to guildwars2.com is 70~74ms, but for 7 hours now, it’s been at least 90ms (i use the ping -t guildwars2.com command in command prompt)
I know what you’re going to say, you’ll say guildwars2.com is not the same as the game servers, but that’s the thing, i looked up my ping to various map IP addresses (looked them up using resource monitor) and all of them had increased by 20~30ms just like guildwars2.com
What is going on???
I’d say the least they could do is at least make recipes unlock account-wide.
Especially since they keep adding recipes with every LS and I haven’t used almost a single one of them because I’m on the wrong character for them. But whenever I try:
I get a bunch but I forget to go check the other characters,.
When I remember to check, I forget to put the recipes in the bank.
Then I go back to the first character, put the recipes in the bank.
Then I go out to lunch, come back and forget what I was doing.
Then 2 weeks later I remember to get on the other characters and unlock the recipes
Then I realize I have even more new ones on my first character.
Then I run through the whole process again only to realize one of my other characters has a bunch he/she can’t use either.
I put all those in the bank only to find all but 1 were already unlocked.
Then I’m playing on my first character again and getting dropped recipes and I have no quick way to know which ones I’ve unlocked or not.
SO YES. Either crafting or recipes need to become account bound.
i had deleted my ranger, and after i deleted her i remembered that she had all the weaponsmith and huntsman celestial recipes, and back then these cost about 40~50g each (was before bazaar came back)
I doubt they’ll make crafts account bound cuz there’s a gem item to increase the number of simultaneous crafts on a single character.
We recently received several unlock systems, including the wardrobe, the minis, the dyes…etc.
But there are some things that are tedious that i also wish were account bound:
-Crafts: i know it’s far fetched because characters can level through crafting and such, but if i had the option i’d make my crafts account wide so i don’t have to switch through my toons whenever i need to use the crafts (i have 400~425 all crafts)
-Waypoints: also a bit far fetched because of map completion, but it’s been 2 years now, and i really don’t want to traverse all of tyria to reach a certain location everytime i use a new character, i know it’s meant to be for exploration but it’s boring to have to walk to Orr to get the karma armor every time a new character needs it, just make the waypoints cumulative across the whole account.
-Skill points: now that is perfectly doable imo, use the same system as world exp and make all characters on an account share a single pool of skill points.
-Permanent services: such as permanent captain’s airship pass, permanent hairdresser, bank, black lion trader contracts and others, it’s just tedious to have to transfer these items between characters everytime you want to use them, just make a services tab in the inventory window that you can click, and select w/e service you want to use.

I completely support the idea of bringing back stars of transference, here’s the thing though, in GW1 there was only two ways a character could receive a skill point, it was either leveling up, or using a star of transference, but in GW2 there’re a multitude of ways to get skills points, like tomes of knowledge, scrolls of knowledge (which ANet is basically giving away right now with the silverwastes content), skill point challenges…etc, so my guess is we won’t be seeing stars of transference anytime soon.
There’s a commander on my server who runs Sword/Mace and Hammer. Still have mobility and soft CC on Sword, but you pick up Tremor. Could be worth a try.
Yea but his main weapon is most likely the hammer, sword and mace are the fallback for when hammer skills are on cooldown.
I want a dual wield set that is the MAIN set, with maybe a long bow or rifle as fallback.
So i’m pretty much your standard hammer / sword + warhorn zerg frontline warrior, but i’ve always been interested in dual wielding as a main weapon set, even of it means i’m not a frontliner anymore as long as it’s zerg effective.
Any suggestions??
So i used a total makeover kit on my male norn warrior, i changed gender, but the camera height stayed the same even though the female norn max height is shorter than male norn.
so i’m finding myself looking at my character from the chest up, instead of being from the hips up like normal.
please fix the camera heights to center correctly.
below are my mesmer and warrior, both at max height for a female norn, the mesmer was created normally through character creation, the warrior was originally male and then switched genders using the total makeover kit.
Screenies taken at the same location at max zoom in.

Here’s Anet’s policy regarding macros
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/account/Policy-3rd-Party-Programs-Multi-Boxing-Macros/first#post1532762
sounds like you’re fairly new to the game, so what you’ll want is a sturdy class with decent amount of health, can be support and dps, is easy to learn and is fun.
I’d say necromancer or ranger or warrior.
Ranger is primarily good against single targets, it has access to decent melee combat and ranged combat, health is slap bang in the middle, with the new traits it can be quite enjoyable, sadly the pet AI is very poor and unreliable, and if you plan to play WvW, then zerg battles will just instagib your pet.
Necromancer has the highest base health (along with warrior) in the game, is quite hard to kill if played properly (due to class ability), can apply conditions very well, but is limited to ranged combat, and wherever you go you’ll probably find yourself playing a condition damage role.
Warrior is very diverse, it’s mainly melee combat, but has some very nice AOE support with the longbow and very high single target dmg with the rifle; In WvW you’re expected to be running hammer/ sword+warhorn since it offers the zerg v zerg usefulness and good mobility with a blast combo skill, however you’ll find yourself stuck in pretty much the same couple of builds unless you plan on roaming.
Then stop whining here and wait till its fixed..
Sigh
the replies to this question could’ve been a simple yes or no, but you all chose to deny me and tried sending me off to another forum section where help takes ages to arrive.
why not just say “yes” or “no”?
This is an issue best served over in the Tech Support sub-forum.
Good luck.
nothing is served at tech support.
It’s been 4 hours now, i’m lagging like heck, everywhere, every single map.
Windows resource monitor shows my ping is 200~240, when 4 hours ago it was 80~110.
what’s going on here, other games are fine.
anybody please reply.
It started an hour or two ago, everything was fine and dandy at 80~110ms for me (observed with windows resource monitor), then suddenly it’s 200+ and it’s still up there at the moment.
Not just wvw too, in LA and everywhere else.
Anyone getting this as well?
I know it’s been said before, but i want to make sure that EVERYTHING we’ve seen so far is permanent, as in i’ll be able to do dry top sandstorm whenever i want, and get the weapon recipes whenever i want…etc
Am i correct or is there some hidden limited content in there?
this is tech support, where is the tech support??
please move to PHP
Since early morning (around 10:00am GMT) on april 15th, I’ve been getting weird lags on some maps.
First it was gendarran fields, was fine at 90~110ms, then after 10:00am it shot up to 400~700ms, then EB and borderlands joined in, till i logged in today at the same time, and it was fine.
But right now, i’m getting these weird ping “jumps”, it start off normally at 85~110ms, then suddenly shoots up to 130~220ms for a random number of seconds, then goes back down for a few seconds, then back up again.
And it’s worse in EB, because at spawn i’m sitting at 83~95ms, but as soon as i get nearer to a group of people/zerg, it starts going up, until i’m in the heat of battle and it’s shoots up to 160~220, and doesn’t really go down.
WTH is going on??, is it ANet’s servers or me?
Another tip:
If you have a lot of addresses listed (you may have had the trading post window open for example), you can type /ip into the chat box to get the IP address of the map/server you are currently connected to and use that to find the matching Remote Address in Resource Monitor.
I often use the method described by RapidSausage to get an idea of my latency whenever I feel as if I am experiencing lag.
i use this when i need the IP to use in ping plotter.
However, when i use task manager, it’s often easy to find the map’s entry, since it’s the only one updating every second, other ones usually update every 15 seconds or so.
Hi everyone this is RapidSausage, and i’ll be showing you how to find your latency/ping to the current map you’re in in GW2.
Keep in mind, this guide is only meant for windows users, and it requires absolutely no software downloads, as we will only be using window’s software.
Here’s how to find your ping in 6 easy steps:
Step 1: Open task manager by clicking Shift+Alt+Esc simultaneously.
Step 2: On task manager, click the “Performance” tab.
Step 3: At the bottom, click “Resource Monitor”, and a new window will open.
Step 4: On Resource monitor, click the “Network” tab.
Step 5: Under “Processes with Network activity” find “GW2.exe” and tick the checkbox next to it.
Step 6: after step 5, under “TCP connections”, you will see 3 rows with the image name “GW2.exe”, and each of them will show latency values, 2 of them will mostly not change, as they update infrequently, the third one however will be updating every second, and this one is your current latency to the current map you’re in in GW2.
Can anyone else help me with this please??
They might be pushing the new patch to the servers, and running some tests before opening them to us :P
i understand that, but why would i feel the impact while others don’t?
lag is also in a couple of borderlands.
i’m not sure that’s the cause, especially since people keep telling me that they’re having no lag.
It’s around 1:30pm here in Egypt, and 15 minutes ago my ping was fine in EB, now it’s gone from 90~110ms to 500~700ms.
Lag was in Gendarran fields at first, and now it’s in EB, and only in GW2
What is going on?!!, i’ve done what i can on my end.
