Crazy fights this morning! We had a goal to work with our oceanics and international guilds to hold , secure and buld full WPs on BG and SoR maps. Thanks for all those that participated from all sides. We had a blast.

defending never happens now, unless a commander is defending, and then still many others are out attacking. whY? it gives better rewards. if defending rewards stay at what they are at, then at the very least, give us more WXP for defending. i am not saying reduce it for attacking, but make defending give twice the WXP compared to attacking. then the hardcore wvw-ers fighting for glory of their server will get the reward they truly want, WXP. this way, the zerg karma trains will potentially have to spend an hour or so taking a keep, and the wvw will become more tactical. if a mindless karma train zerg on blacktide came to our keep we would actually defend it with siege, because on T8 we are a lot of dedicated players. im sure the other servers would benefit from this too.
TL;DR would you defend if you got double WXP??
I think it should be triple. Defending is not rewarding whatsoever and its the most valuable thing you can do besides pushing.
Commander UI is so broken, its just a mundane icon to help route. All top WvW guilds use voice chat without a doubt. IG chat is not META nor as effective.

I think there has been one night I can remember when we had 60 TSym out on the field on a given night, and that was a LONG time ago. Its pretty rare. We average around 40-50 on primetime at best. I know cause I stack and count supply and players quite a bit.

I agree that SoR has the best NA being because they house allot of strong organized guilds that run daily wvw. Jq’s NA guilds only field roughly 30 on average with the exception of SF/EMP- 50+ daily.
On top of that since JQ has such a strong player base in WvW , its hard when 1/2 of our maps are qued up with militia going against BG/SoR guild groups.

EMP is a 24/7 wvw guild and we can’t always account for all 400 active members and some of the new commanders that are leading during those time zones. Thanks for addressing this, we have dealt with this issue accordingly.
Also, to my knowledge this was the 2nd occurance and we haven’t stated such claims.
Like always we take cheating very seriously in our guild. Let me know if stuff like this happens again.

People have been calling him the “Golden Sunrise Commander”.
He is always down for some 1v1 if you spot him on the field.

Being a WvW guild leader, we took about 100 people on this event and had a bast.
Then it occurred to allot of us if these maps could be implemented in Spvp/WvW.
Moneymaker. Id splurge gems all on that!
It’s not too late to say “April Fools!” and make this a permanent addition.
Not only does this give incentive for players to participate in JPs (for continue coins) but this is something that players have been wanting for a long, long time as a “super” jumping puzzle.

Good question.
I was one of the founding commanders on Jade Quarry for NA and about 90% of my pin was from donations at the time. After spending many hours running and expanding a guild of 400+ intl members and cropping over a dozen new hopefuls commanders, I’ve noticed those that just want the pin without lack of work tend to abuse it.
Its great to run around with a pin but you need to know what your doing. Back around release date, everything was new so it wasn’t so displeasing but nowadays people need to come in with a good sense of judgment, response, and responsibility regardless of the forces they have behind their back, especially in a T1 server.
What I also come to see is some commanders need to be realistic. Most commanders think when they get a pin, they will have an unyielding support of followers but the fact are they need to establish leadership and build their repertoire through time, patience and work.
To many times I’ve seen commanders buy pins, get frustrated for a few days and just drop the whole thing all together. Good commanders are those that don’t have rely on a silly icon to get people under their wing. Besides, many of the top guilds I’ve seen run directly under a solo target & route just as well with the use of a VOIP.
To be frank, I donate to those that can voluntarily put up the work without asking for the whole package. Allot of people abuse it for status nowadays.

EMP the other day fielded 90 guildies exactly and we saw about 10-25 non guildies as well. So we estimate 120~ on Reset is server cap per borderlands in T1
PvE>PvP>WvW
If WvW ever gets ANYTHING, they will make sure it’s also available to PvE players. The same can not be said the other way around. It’s likely you will always have to PvE to get the new hotness.
Incorrect, WvWvW did get something. Something that is actually USEFUL for WvWvW, not for standing around in LA looking like a “shiny vampire”

That’s fair, and being honest, I’m very happy to have something to work towards (rank). I’m also thrilled with the removal of culling and can’t wait to get home to try it out.
I guess the point I want to make is, they would never release a new type of best stats in game gear (much like ascended gear) and only allowed you to get this in WvW, and not in PvE, but they have no problem doing it the other way around.
PvE Ascended acquisition =/= WvW asended acquisition.

So this is it? The “big” wvsw patch? Culling fixed- dont know if it works because the wvsw servers are down but if yes, great!
All the rest? The simpliest progression system i have ever seen. 8 boring passive skills and some titles. thats it.
Items that nobody needs. Some low level skins, which look horribleNo unique wvsw skins, no good looking (tpvp/dungeon) skins. no ascended gear. no word to bring back the orbs. no improvement to the commander book. no game updates like new maps, new siege and siege skills, new Upgrades.
A serious question. Except for the culling fix. How ling did this take to implent? 1 day, maybe 1 week?
Really disspaointed. This “big” wvsw patch ist another pve patch. Like every other kitten patch before.
WvW is a carbon copy of PvE’s backend support. Kind of like the disowned child that they disprove and wish to wither away..

Maybe there will be glitter and CGI video promotion and effects when a legit WvW Patch runs through…when most of the player base will be pretty much obsolete.

Not with this patch, but they are planning to add them at some point.
They’ve been planning it since november/december……
They also said in november/december it’d take them a year to fully roll out ascended gear through the game.

So Why Jade Quarry?
- As you can tell we hold many oceanic guilds but we still have roughly 1-2 maps that can easily fill an organized guild forces up to 60~. With that being said, you will experience no que times during your primetime during the start of SEA coverage.
- Recent transfers VAL,EDMW,NOBL,Yaki (Sea/Oceanic) have loved the adjustment so far with all the dynamic guilds
- Weekly meetings
- Serverwide community operated teamspeak (600+) that houses every major WvW guild
- Reliability and community support!
How is our SEA base guilds?
- Generally we have Val/NOBL working on the same bordermap right after NA nightcrew while EDMW works EBG. We only have 2-3 prominent guilds that start to primetime before our later oceanics (FOO/DC/EXI/OMEN) start to log. We do quite well on 2/4 maps during SEA prime but are in dire need of guilds to fill up the last 2 maps.
- The transition from SEA to Oceanic nightly is very well coordinated across all major commanders and there is always 1-2 maps open que for 50+ players.
The history of Jade Quarry’s guilds
- 3 founding powerhouse NA guilds still reside! (AoS/Fire/EMP)
- The FOO sea/oceanic alliance loyalty to JQ
- All new merging guilds (SF/PRX/Yaki/CRNG/Val/EDMW/NOBL) have loved everything JQ has to offer and are still apart of our community!
How can AFS help?
- As you said your guild specializes in field tactics and number routing, your enemies from SoR/BG are known to jump between maps to pull numbers for point leverage. A guild of that size (20-50),like yourselves, that can specifically target map hopping guilds can do quite a detrimental effect to opposing enemies. Not to mention the mobility in squeezing numbers between all border maps as ques are lowest during that time out of any given day.
- As you can see from the PPT Tracker off millenium, Jade quarry drops considerably druing the Start of SEA prime. By having a guild of your size, AFS will have a major effect no matter what your guild chooses to do on the field. Also, EBG is the only map with a que during the start of SEA primetime!

90 EMP on one map?! 90 JQ in one place? Or some other count? Details on how it was determined? This is very important information for those of us who have been trying to track changes in map cap #’s. If they up the population cap again we might be in for very laggy weekend. Wondering if they are testing something for the upcoming patch. =/

Ebjp would be a good place but idk about BG and SoR but JQ has a queue almost 24/7 depending on the timezone.
Yeah que times are long. Even dead zones near the end of the week , you would be lucky squeezing in 20 guildies.

It’s really to bad people interfear with the GvG, the area between Garrison and Bay seems to be very nice open area. Though even if you had every guild on all servers agree to not interfere with the GvG you could never stop “everyone”
What I find rewarding about hosting GvG is the respects guilds/servers have. Its really crazy to see 3 servers sit down and watch a fight with full cooperation “when the point score permits”. The biggest spectator arena had over 90+ people. SoR/Bg/Jq side by side. However, since the culling has been so bad recently, we’ve made most issued fights more private and drawn towards live stream spectating to decrease this effect.
Also, Reason why you don’t wana GvG across major keeps because it provokes PPT confrontation. If you were to come on the map and see random cross marks in the corner of the map, ill be more obvious that the fight is intentionaly structured.

I can’t for the life of me figure out whwy people think GvG’s can be fun in the closed narrow space that is always used. It allows for zero tactics, just smash our faces into each other and hope our selection of classes is the Paper to their Rock selection of classes.
I’m surprised no one has tried to just say. Lets meet at X spot in open field at X:XX time on the tick. That way there is actually the possibility of maneuvering.
It helps limit the chance of being interrupted because you don’t have two guilds standing around drawing attention to each other. You can still pick a somewhat out of the way location so people are less likely to stroll by.We have a standard set up actually!
Three fields! The one you saw was “trenches and hills” one team starts on the top while other starts below. “Open field” which requires more maneuverability and routing. Last but not least “Close quarters” , which is on the other side of the video.
You’d be surprised on how guilds coordinate under the given field parameters. Takes us like 10 minutes to set up the fields but it provides allot of awesome fights! Depending on the zone, you can tell how quickly some guilds stack together under pressure.
During match points, both leaders agree to face off on a specified time frame “xx:xx”. When one team defeats the other, they /salute and proceed re-rezzing and setting up. Its quite awesome if guilds have the courtesy to set up in such a chaotic environment. Promotes healthy competition and respect between guilds cross server.
I can see how having different fields setup can be entertaining and more representative of WvW in general. When you consider many fights happen in a tightly packed Lords room. I guess I’ve just never thought the “Open Field” part is very open.
In truth I’ve not watched a lot of the videos so maybe I am not seeing the “open field” portions. I just don’t see any areas south of that supply camp that appear to be good it.
I didn’t realize you are setting up 3 different fields though. That at least mixes things up a little bit but still feels like it would still more or less be just smashing head on into each other just in different locations. Maybe I’ll check a few more of the videos out though just out of curiosity.
Its crazy what a guild can do given the situation. With controlled variables like timed pushes, equal numbers and a specified field, you really start to think intuitively with your class builds,combos, routing and those results can be displayed by which guild comes out on top with each match point.

Your “Open Fields” fight isn’t open enough for me. I just dislike the location in general. Massive cliff on one side with a big drop off on the other really restricts your maneuvering.
It’s the best thing that works. Closest to all spawn locations, easy to rally to and away from all major point objectives.
Many top contending GvG guilds in EU run on the same field format.
