on my server our population seems ok. i rarely find myself feeling completely alone. but the champions are running rampant and no one is doing anything to stop them.
I’m pretty sure it’s safe to say that the “Reason” for the one time event is because it was planned that way loooong before people started giving opinions of orr.
not entirely useless. I went a while without a pistol dropping once and bought one of these on the cheap as a stop gap till i got a better one.
the reason for the gem system is to make it possible to get the same items with ingame gold. either you would need 2 independant delivery systems selling the same items, or one system using a common purchase mechanism.
it doesnt convolute the system as you imply…it in fact simplifies it.
i’ve fried a few video cards in my day. the 8800’s were the worst offenders. funny thing, I was always playing a game when they fried too.
the cards ran to hot and they fried. It isn’t anything to do with GW2. that just happened to be the application they were running at the time.
i stopped levelingmy warrior at 77 because i found it way to frustrating to try and get accross orr.
I may never finish my personal story.
i spent 3 days just trying to get to my green waypoint made it almost there a few times, but inevitably i would drop at least once and all the res way points are always contested so i have to start right back at the beggining of the zone on the only free waypoint
on the other hand, I’m having great fun with my other toons at mid level playing the parts of the game that aren’t orr and therefore are fun.
for a rough idea, as soon as you pass the tutorial you can go to the mists and have everything unlocked so you can see the possible weapon combinations and skills to get a general idea of what a character can be built into. you can try it out a little in pvp or against training dummies.
This wont give a you very good picture of how the class will be in pve, but it will give you more info about a class without investing a ton of time into it.
yes. from what i’ve heard you can buy it, transpose the skin onto a white item. it will still say soul bound, but you can then send it to your warrior who then can transpose it onto an item with the stats you want and use it.
*edit…as noted below this may no longer work.

“Mystic Forge gave me Dawn! “What do I do”
step 1 – rejoice
step 2 – come on the forums and make the rest of us drool
since you’ve done that, I can’t really decide what you should do with it.
myself, I would sell it.
i think you might be talking about the vigil helm.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/File:Norn_Female_Vigil_Heavy_Armor.jpg
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/File:Vigil_armor_heavy_Human_male.png
not sure about the rest of the armor was probably a piece meal set
they seem to be very honest by nature. they don’t seem to quite get the concept of a lie and are known for their absolute sincerity. I think they could keep a secret as long as no one asked them about it.
you get more xp from fighting above your level, but I can’t say I really noticed better drops.
could also be the Isle of Janthir. it’s marked on the map and in the direction of the other high level content. There really isn’t a plot line I can think of right now that would take us to the ring of fire.
Iwould much prefer the battle islands and more pvp and guild halls though
Not as of yet. there is a work around to get the armor/weapon skins from one order transmuted to use on another character however, haven’t tried it myself though. a vigil warrior could transmute a vigil skin onto a white item which could then be sent to your priory guardian and transmuted onto a new item with good stats. Like i say, I havent tried it myself yet, but reportadly it works
oh, yes. cultural armor. the vendors should show up as a blue helmet icon on the map in your races home city. I’m pretty sure they’ll only talk to you if you’re the right race though. The human one just said to my sylvari “do i make you nervous?” or something along those lines.
just check all the lvl 35 heart guys. you can still see the lvl requirement for a heart even after you’ve completed it. they sell karma gear equal to the level of the heart.
I love underwater exploraion. the cool spots i’ve found are all underwater but the combat is too wonky to make me willingly go into water. with me it’s mostly a problem with the camera. i lose track of targets way to easily. they seem to snap all over the place and i cant keep up. as a result, i avoid being in the water as much as possible
didn’t work…they still do
i believe they’ve said that although they aren’t making an official client for linux they are optomizing it to run in wine.
i’ve mailed gold to friends 3 or 4 times. no one got banned.
There are class trainers in game. I know mechanicly it’s more like “here, read this book. it’ll tell you everything you need to know” but lore wise it would seem to imply that you usually train under someone to perfect your craft.
well…at it’s core a gargoyleis just a statue that was attached to the side of a building to control water shed that has come to life. it’s appearance is quite flexable.
in GW2 as in life there are only 2 guarantees. death and gold sinks.
Sorry, yup. it isn’t 15 on the end but i cant edit that post…however, the spirit of my post remains
it’s all just a gold sink but to put it into some sort of real world perspective, the listing fee is the fee the black lion co takes as commision on a sale. the 15% on the end is a tax.
I don’t agree that this game should have open world pvp…doesnt fit the lore. I do however agree that all games that have open world pvp should have this games downscaling system.
I like boosters. wish i could sell off my tonics though. I hate to destroy them because I know there are people out there who really like them. I never use them.
I’s a toss up. The pve/leveling in this game is generally better. The pvp in GW1 and the story missions were better.
I really didn’t customize my bars much for pve in gw1. I found a buld that worked for my role and pretty much stuck with it on each character. But the ability to come up with so many unique ways to kill other people and the complexity of skill interactions is what kept me playing pvp for years.
The cooperative story missions were really the only pvp I had fun with in gw1. Going to thunderhead keep and saying “healer lfg” meant i found a group and had a lot of fun in no time at all. forcing us to play together to progress the story really made the pve side a social experience.
The other thing I liked about the story lines in gw1 is when you hit max level you were only half way done them. you didnt hit max level and go “what now?” you just kept playing and by the time you had finished the story you were used to playing without progressing. that’s why people didnt wonder where the end game was.
so yes, there were things that gw1 did really well that are hard to let go of. gw2 is a much more emersive world and is way more fun to wonder around in. The combat it fun. it doesnt feel as static and grindy to me to quest and kill monsters.
the pvp at this point is kind of lacking to me and i just can’t get into it for some reason. gvg was my main pvp choice initially in gw1, but it was aliance battles that i was still playing 3 years later…and would still be playing today if they hadnt died off. that was added in an expansion, so i’m still hopeful pvp will be expanded before i lose interest in gw2 pve.
If not, I deffinately got my moneys worth out of gw2, and had a lot of fun playing a great game. If i’m not still playing it in 3 years like i was gw1 that doesnt mean it was a faliure or they did it wrong. gw2 is still an amazing game in it’s own right.
you’re right about one thing…
@ShadowGryphon
no no. you’ve got it all wrong. I was talking old orrian whacks. Back in the day the minors of orr got 3 swings to a whack, 5 whacks to a trolly
(edited by Rehashed Jibe Tube.7102)
I’s not just orichalcum. Any rich node gives you 3 whacks.
I haven’t actually played the priory story line yet. I’ve done both of the other orders. Just based on what you’ve told us though i’d say the whispers story line doesn’t really fit that theme at all. Nore does the lore around the order of whispers.
i didn’t do the storyline with malyck and had forgotten about him. that answers that, but opens up a million more questions….sigh….stupid lore…never ending quest for answers.
^
that has always been my biggest question with the sylvari. (the no centaurs thing. I never even thought about nipples)
sometimes i see clouds in the sky that look like things. but it’s only because i’m looking really hard. I do see what you are trying to show us, but i’m not entirely sure it’s intentional. It doesn’t seem to fit with any lore or any art style. I think it’s just a coincidence.
mesmer mind control spells have limited range and limited duration. I just don’t think it’s possible to “mind control” a whole kingdom into supporting you.
Sort of related – I think they’ve kind of messed stuff like this up:
There are few immunities, and conditions seem to affect all things equaly.
My warrior makes everything bleed…ghosts, earth elementals, undead, doesn’t matter. I have yet to find an enemy that doesn’t bleed.
gw1 had lot’s of things that had resistances to conditions. gw2 seems to be a little lacking when it comes to such things.
i don’t think it’s fair to say that they’ve been “written out” of the plot. Quite the opposite. They are still a very important part of the world. The loss of contact with them is written into the plot. they will be back.
see, i talked to her and she told me the name, but when i went and interacted with the tomb afterwords it just said it was a waste of time and i should move on. thought maybe i was missing something. maybe it was just on cool down or something. I guess I’ll try again. thanks!
has anyone figured out what the deal is with the statue in sauls tomb? I got the impression from the dwayna ghost that if you speak the name of the white mantle ghost he will appear and you can defeat him to remove the curse. she then tells you his name.
I couldnt find a way to make it work and got frustrated by the stupid fast respawn times on the spirits and gave up. I think think there might be something to it though.
I haven’t played as one yet,but they are almost always my most feared monster class to come up against.
1 thing I do is once i pop my heal I start planning to drop. If there’s more than one enemy attacking me i try and make sure one always has low health for when i fall. I may actually switch off an almost dead target and start hitting a stronger one until i drop so i can target the almost dead one after I drop and get the rally. Condition damage is your friend here too. Sometimes when i’m tanking several mobs I’l drop and rally several times.
It’s a little strange to plan to fail in order to succede…but it works. I also spec for toughness and vitality a lot for solo play.
@ ContorK
“-_-
why nobody test dmg on TRaining Golems??”
Training golems dont provoke us like bunnies and racoons do.
@Narcemus.
There are examples of romantic involvement between sylvari in a few places. Not just Caithe and Faolin. The green knight story line is intruduced before we really know anything about Faolin. As a people, romance, courtship and sexuality seems to be a very strong part of their culture.
On topic.
I think the sylvari evolved to mimic humans as closely as they could. They seem to have equivilency in everything else by design. I assume physical strength would also be on par.
I wonder if ArenaNet, already has tools to recover items stolen from hacked accounts?

all that was stolen from you that was provided for you by Anet was your account. you got that back. They can’t give you back your time, but you did get the account you purchased legaly from them back.
i hope they all answered a call and went east of ascalon where they all rallied under the banner of a mighty demonic king who is building an army of stone creatures and we have to travel to strike at the heart of this army before they can invade the rest of the known kingdoms

it’s a skill. not an item. it’s an elite skill too, so you may not be able to use it till level 30. I dont have it, but it does show blacked out beside the rest of my elite skills.
