We’re still waiting for this to be resolved! It’s been weeks now and still no sollution in sight. This is one of the most annoying current bugs for Rangers and non-Rangers alike!
If you have a Ranger in the group for dungeons, you’re going to have trouble because the pet WILL ALWAYS mess things up because of the forced auto-attack mechanic.
Furthermore, when the pet is on ‘avoid combat’, using the pets utility skill SHOULD NOT send the pet into combat!!
Take this golden opportunity to, not only fix this long-overdue bug, but also implent some even longer-overdue much-needed updates for Ranger pets!!! Like…
1) First and foremost Fix the forced auto-attack!
2) Stop pets from attacking your target when using their ‘F2’ skill.
or
3) Add a 3rd pet mode ‘passive’ that will never let the pet enter combat, even when the ‘F2’ is pressed unless told to attack with ‘F1’. If the pet is on ‘Avoid Combat’ it will not attack, but pressing ‘F2’ will attack.
4) Allow pets to be PERMANENTLY dismissed! Why is this not an option?! Seriously.
5) Allow pets to be dismissed IN COMBAT. There are countless scenarios where you need to hide your pet to prevent it from dying (Mai trin phase 2 for example).
6) A ‘downed’ pet should still benefit from your healing skill, so you can speed up it’s recovery in combat.
7) You should be able to ‘revive’ your pet in combat without being forced to use the rediculously long 60sec cooldown to swap the pet out!
8) Reduce the combat pet swapping cooldowns by 50%.

9) Make pets survive aoe (not single target)

Still waiting for the ‘Meeting the Asura’ challenge mote to be fixed.
I think you should introduce something called ‘verified’ account. This is where we undertake a small vetting process on our account and it becomes flagged as ‘verified’. This should then allow the player to post more auctions on the Trading Post before they encounter that really annoying ‘you have posted too many auctions recently’ message!
Also, as a lot of currently players bought second accounts in the recent game sale, these verified accounts should have the option to link together with one other verified account. These linked accounts would be able to freely mail items between each other without the rediculous 2-message limitation.
Just to add, I forgot to mention this, I tried to find it in the Human home instance.
I found it in the Norn home instance, but in a different location.
Please don’t forget to fix the F2 “Pet skill” while you are working on this! When you use the “pets utility skill” it should NOT send the pet in to attack when it is on ‘avoid combat’ mode.
Since there was nothing in the patch notes thread saying that this chest was removed, and I cannot see it anywhere in my home instance, I am assuming that it is bugged since the patch.
I never understand why something get’s patched, it fixes 2 things and breaks another 5. It’s as if the game is held together by tape or something.
Ranger pets are still bugged. Challenge motes, still bugged etc. Cmon.

If this isn’t fixed in a patch tomorrow, I’ll be very irritated. Running into this problem has sucked any fun I would have had out of the achievement, and now I’m no longer even excited about completing it anymore. I just want to get the kitten thing over with and move on to something else. Thanks for ruining this for me. :/

I was excited to see that there was a patch today with some fixes, but disappointed to see that only a few of the ‘major’ bugs were actually fixed and the bulk of the patch was to implement new items. :\
Don’t they realise that people are not interested in buying things when the game is broken for us?
- Ranger pets attack regardless of ‘avoid combat’ toggle
- Ranger pets attack when using “F2” skill, even when on ‘avoid combat’
- Challenge motes are still hidden and preventing players from progressing achievements

Please fix these things, especially the Ranger pet bug! That bug is so annoying right now it’s not even funny.
I just tried to do the achievements for the “Seads of Truth” chapter, specifically the “Meeting the Asura” story and there is no Challenge mote!
Both myself, and my friend who came with me, have completed all the story to unlock the achievements.
We tried various things like entering seperately, restarting the game client, cancelling the story/restarting it, making sure the mail you get when starting the story is unread, but none of these things worked.
In another one of the achievevments we did yesterday, I cannot remember exactly which one, the challenge mote was hidden to me, but not to my friend. After he marked it with a target, I was then able to see it and interact with it. So if anyone in your group can see it, get them to mark it and see if the instance owner can use it that way.
I just wanted to make a thread to say “Thank You!” for removing the WvW maps from the requirement towards map completion before the release of HoT.
Personally, I feel the WvW map completions rewards should be left intact as that offers some reward to those who play WvW or put in the effort to complete those maps.
Well I hope they do something soon, it’s getting rediculous to have to pay over 6g for a stack just to craft a daily thread!

Every map is ‘outnumbered’ and FULL of enemy players. Why do they get to have so many people, yet my team has nobody?
Why isn’t this balanced properly? Meaning if we only have 5 ppl, then others should get kicked from the map to balance it so it’s 5v5 until more join. There should be EVEN numbers on the WvW maps, not this useless ‘outnumbered’ buff that does nothing to aid you in your uphill/impossible struggle against the superior enemy numbers!
I understand that you’re doing something outside of your play style… But this (specifically bolded) is the dumbest thing I’ve ever read… And I’ve PvF&F (player vs. Forums &Facebook) since before launch.
WvW is designed to be unbalanced some people like being outnumbered (by a reasonable #), some people want server balance so all servers are equal, but no one wants wvw to become Spvp.
Fair point, then as I originally asked, remove this nonsense from completion! And not in months time, now! Many players have been asking for this change for ages, and been ignored.
Also, if people do want ‘unbalanced’ WvW sides, then remove the queue so we don’t have to wait 2hours to get into a map.

I’ve looked at the PC support thread here relating to performance ( https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/support/PC-FPS-and-Performance-based-issues ) and not found anything that needed to be changed on my system that hadn’t already been set.
This ‘lag’ issue is only after you load into the game or just after a loading screen, as if it hasn’t completely fully loaded and when you pan the camera around, it lags massively for a few seconds, then I get a solid 60FPS from then onwards.
I’ve uploaded a video capture of this issue. It’s just so you can get an idea of that initial ‘freeze’ I’m talking about. The video itself is 30FPS so not the best for showing camera panning, but you’ll see what I mean! This PC is well above the required specifications for this game, and I have no issues achieving 60FPS running at near-max settings, even in crowds. It’s just that initial camera lag when loading. I do not have this issue in other games or MMO’s, after the loading screen is complete it should be smooth!
Can you please change it to only needing 2 scraps per refinement and not needing 100 per ascended material instead of the 50 every other mat requires? The price of silk is going up AGAIN and there’s no reason for a single ascended mat to be 4x the price of the other ones.
I agree, why does this require 3 scraps? Same with soft wood requiring 4 logs, it’s rediculous.
Also, why aren’t trading prices CAPPED at a certain point, preventing these annoying TP-flippers from driving the prices sky high. It’s a classic case of the rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer.
I hope you all are right that WvW will be removed from the WC requirements with HoT.

So, tried to get some more % for this rediculous completion again tonight.
I ran ALL the way accross the map, killed by 2 scrubs. Waypoint, try run again, using bases that we control as cover, made it further north only to be 1hit by a scrub ranger. Sigh….ragequit.
I asked in map chat for people to help me, no reply. No commander on map, no friednly players and ‘outnumbered’.

Yet another whine about actually having to put some genuine effort in to actually earn an achievement/title. People want everything to be easy mode these days and get upset when faced with something remotely challenging which may require grouping up in an MMO or having to use one’s brain and adapt to complete.
This is my 3rd World Completion. Because for some stupid reason, you need to do this over and over again to craft another legendary weapon!
I understand the need to do it once, but forcing you to do it over and over for gifts is stupid in itself!
But hey, I wasn’t QQ’ing about the gifts and asking to hand them out freely as they should be once you’ve completed it once!
I’m simply asking for the WvW maps to be removed from map completion. And if it’s being removed in HoT, why not now?

Remove WvW maps from the Map Completion requirement
It is IMPOSSIBLE to get this done unless you’re willing to spend a month of WvW spamming and run with the zerg everywhere until you eventually have all the things you need.
If you try enter the map and explore ‘solo’ you will die, repeatedly from 1v15 fights of little roamer groups or get 1hit by a 100-man enemy zerg. Either way, impossible.
Also, everytime you finally enter the battle after queing for 60minutes, your team control nothing on the map and you get maybe ONE thing towards completion if you’re lucky. And that’s after dying repeatedly.
I think the time required for this is rediculous, and it should be removed from the completion requirement. There is NO need to have these stupid WvW maps in completion. Those of us who prefer PvE should NOT be forced into enduring hours of boring wiping in WvW just to explore a map that cannot be done solo.
The game will not let you relist your group in LFG sometimes. The only sollution is to restart your game client.
I have no idea what causes this to happen, only that it seems to happen randomly when someone leaves the group.
This is extremely annoying in fractals because you are forced to die when re-entering.
I’m really fed up with this event and the lack of rewards for participating.
For the past 6 months, I have participated in the Tequatl event daily. In that time, I have received zero, yes that’s right ZERO, tequatl weapons!!
Ok, so getting those Teq weapons is a very low chance, but at least give us some other rewards then.
I walk away with blues/greens and maybe 2-3 rares IF I’m very very lucky. If I get an exotic, it’s a useless collectable spoon that sells for a mere 10s. If the spoons sold for 1g at least they wouldn’t be so annoying.
Considering that you need to turn up to the event AT LEAST 40minutes early to ensure a good map, and then the event itself takes a while, the total time invested DOES NOT equal the meager rewards given.
This change will wreck PvE in multiple ways. Unless you plan on completely overhauling PvE from the ground upm this change makes no sense.
Most enemies stun multiple times in short durations, or have a very short CD on their stun attacks. They were designed around the previous version of stability, it makes no sense to have it this new way

I would like to complain about the rediculous trading post restrictions that are in place. I am referring to the inability to list multiple items.
I have 15 items that need to go on the Trading Post for sale. However, as soon as I have listed around 5, I get the annoying message “You have placed too many sell orders too quickly. Please wait a few minutes before attempting to sell again.”
Why does it have to take 20minutes to complete a task that should take me 2minutes because you cannot handle someone who can click fast?
I’d understand it if I placed 50-100 at once and it freaked out, but 5?!?! Come on.

My friend is in the WvW map right now, yet it refuses to let me join. So the maps are not being updated, it just won’t let me in.
I am also experiencing regular disconnects when I go through loading screens.
Whenever I try to log in I get booted from the game with this message: “The game client lost its connection to the server. Please wait a few minutes before restarting the client and trying again. (Code=7:11:3:191:101)”
PLEASE HELP!
I am getting this too. And because it often happens on loading screens, even if you are simply traveling to another zone, when you try log back in you then get client-crashes because it doesn’t know what zone you character is in!
I hope they put character expansion slots on offer!
Please make the little loot bags that appear on the floor near you, non-solid!
It’s extremely frustrating being pushed off a wall or worse, being shoved THROUGH a wall and getting stuck because a bag suddenly spawns under your feet and moves your character.
I’m fed up of having to waypoint and catch up to the zerg again because of loot bags pushing me through textures!
This rush event needs a massive nerf. Everytime we get this one, we have to wait 30mins to try start another one, and often get the same stupid rush again. So it kinda kills off the guild missions for people.
Nobody can complete it, maybe one or two people. I’m fed up of dying within sight of the flag because there are not enough evades and NO healing/clense ability.
I’m sure other people feel the same way, but nothing it done about it. If you don’t want to change the whole event, at least make the mobs (Karka hatchlings and territorial crabs) killable so team mates can escort each other.
Yesterday took me 30mins because of the bugs and failing at the hard songs that did work.
Today took 25mins because of the bugs and I had 1 map out of 13 that worked, and that was a hard song, so failed it.
I do eventually complete it in the end, by just trying over and over to get a working map with starting songs. But having to waste 30mins a day on one single achi is rediculous!!
I am SICK and TIRED of wasting 30-40mins on thids every day because of bugged map after bugged map. Then you finally get into one that isn’t bugged and it’s part-weay through with all the difficult songs, and ends.
Then you begin the process all over again with bugged map after bugged map!!!
Just REMOVE this and the impossible jumping puzzle from the daily requirement!! Seriously.
…is grabbing 10 points and then sitting AFK in the base because the games are so badly imbalanced and futile.
Ok, some more specific details on the bugs…
Bell Choire Ensemble – Sometimes when you enter, the notes do not heal you even when played correctly. Furthermore, if you somehow survive the song and are still playing, you get no score or reward for it because it didn’t register your notes. You are forced to exit the map and try again.
Double Loading Screen – If you walk through the portal to enter the instance, when you leave you are ported back inside immediately.
Unable to Click/Chose Low/Mid/Up – When you are trying to join a song, if there are other players, when someone selects a part, the window disappears making it difficult to read and select what you want.
Enter map – bugged and doesn’t heal you.
Exit map
Enter another map – last song, forced to play upper, impossible fast notes … fail
Exit map
Rinse, repeat for 30mins then rage quit.
Please fix this event and make it doable.
Well, it does port you to the last location you where in. The only difference is you’re forced to be in the mists to queue for PvP now.
It does not port you to your previous location.
For example, if I am standing in Lion’s Arch and I decide to join a PvP match, it lets me. But after that match ends, or if you join custom arena and leave the match, you are ported to the PvP Mists zone and NOT to your location in Lion’s Arch! Only after you leave the PvP zone you were forced into, THEN you are ported back to your previous location in Lion’s Arch.
Everytime you join a PvP map and exit that match at the end, you are teleported to the “Heart of the Mists” PvP area instead of back to your original location!
This is particularly annoying for players who want to enter PvP matches without entering the Mists area, becasuse you are FORCED into this zone and through multiple loading screens.
My personal reason for wanting to stay out of the Mists PvP area is because everytime I spend any amount of time there, I am spammed for days afterwards with gold seller whispers! It’s as if they linger in that area adding you to some sort of contact list.

The only thing I’ve found enjoyable about this event is the snowball fights, and I don’t even do PvP! I found the jumping puzzle to be less puzzling and I found the bell choir to be more difficult than playing “Through the Fire and Flames” on Guitar Hero. And surviving the toys? Have fun with that; it’s a joke of a dungeon. Might as well have put Scarlet back in Lions Arch.My point here is that seasonal events should be a moment for players to refresh, loosen up, and take a nice break from all the heavy grinding they do on a daily basis. Not for them to sit hour upon hour trying to perfect something in a trial-and-error way. That’s ridiculous.
ANet, seriously take a moment and FOR ONCE make your leisure content…leisurely. Otherwise your Wintersday will continue to be confined to a winters day for people like me; one day. Thats it. A day.

I do not understand when you’re supposed to play the notes. It says in the description “Earn points by playing notes that reach teh stage’s blue circle and stop moving” … well, they do not EVER stop moving, they reach the stage and damage you!
The songs are far too fast-paced and difficult. It’s unclear when to ring the bells. I’ve tried ringing them before the note hits the inner circle, as it hits and after it hits, and all times I take damage no matter what I do.
I’ve tried buttom spamming, still lose, but at least I somehow miraculously hit some notes.

Third time’s the charm.You can get up to 55 laurels in 28 days just by logging in.
I still think 1 a day + monthlies was better. Especially when you’re trying to craft ascended things, and you need 5 per recipe. It’s only a5day wait, not longer as it is now.
Nobody knows it so far. Maybe LW-specific Dailes will be introduced. Maybe only festivals will offer such Dialies. We have to wait and see.
And those of us that are “waiting” to earn laurels to unlock things, cannot afford to be missing out on a daily laureal. So after this even, I do not want to waste time “waiting to see what is going to happen”.
Why do they make these rediculous changes and don’t give a second thought to those people that may need these items?
For first time players, this new trait system might work because it forces them to complete zones and explore. Basically unlocking the game and map in order to progress.
But for those of us who have already completed the map on one character and already made multiple lv80 characters, being forced into doing it all over again is rediculous!
If I want to make an alternate character, I do not want to waste my time running around repeating all the things I have already done multiple times before! I want to use the “tomes of knowledge” I’ve stacked up in my bank, make my character 80 and play it in WvW, PvE etc.
As a suggestion, for those players that have already reached lv80 on one character and have completed the world exploration ‘challenge’, then ANY alternate characters made on that account should have the old trait system, whereby traits are automatically unlocked/earned through level up.
I dislike them ONLY because there is no longer a laurel reward!
But right now you can get one for every Winterday daily completion.
And once WintersDay is gone, then we cannot get a daily laurel anymore?
Is it just me, or do we no longer get a daily laurel for completing the dailies?
Doing a fractal run, first fractal absolutely no lag, delay on skills or latency of any kind. Smooth and playable as it should be. As soon as we port into the second fractal, massive constant lag spikes and rubber-banding. Up to 90second delay on looting something.
I rebooted my router, I logged into Lion’s Arch without any lag at all but as soon as I rejoined my group on this bad fractal server, I had the exact same issue.

[EDIT] Please refer to the attached screenshot of a WinMTR test () which shows that there is absolutely ZERO packet loss on my connection up until it hits the server IP 2016.127.159.84 at which point I get around 5% loss.
Also, now on the 3rd factal, different server IP 206.127.146.49 and there is no loss, lag or latency of any kind, everything is as smooth as it should be.

Since the patch, when you join a PvP game from wherever you may be, when the game ends, you are now ported to Heart of the Mists.
I find this extremely annoying and a waste of time going through loading screens.
I don’t care what people think or say just because I have the brains and brawn to come on here and voice my opinion about something nobody wants to discuss.
This ability is massively unbalanced and needs to be fixed, it’s simple. There is no debate or “l2p” nonsense.
It’s just a simple fact that one single person with one single ability should not be able to kill an entire group of enemies.
If this is the “oh it’s balanced” mentality, then please give my Ranger an arrow that wipes an enemy group too. Thanks.
This ability should not push an entire group off the map edge. It needs to be balanced and only affect 3-5 players.
