I thought I’d give that Champion Arrowhead another go, so I relogged to another toon that didn’t have the HP. I had the M-PEC buff, but I got downed AS the darn thingn died and insnta-rallied off it.
Still no item…….what a joke.
This is my first and last HoT legendary. The sheer hassle is simply not worth it! Everything is RnG or time-gated behind repeating the same map meta events over and over for a single mob.

Salivary Stone – Activate the M-PEC before defeating a Champion Stonehead near the Griffonfall Pylon in Auric Basin to gather its salivary stone. — Ok, so I’m here at the event in Verdant Brink looking for a champion stonehead, and only see veterans because I’m alone (no surprise there). I did DS a few times, nobody and I mean NOBODY does the events after DS! They grab their pod loot and leave.
Malodorous Mucus – Activate the M-PEC before defeating a Champion Arrowhead at Arrowhead Vale in Auric Basin to gather its mucus. — An easy champion to spawn, it’s on a Hero Point Challenge. I spawn it, activate M-PEC and just before it dies, I get downed. I got revived, and it dies. Because the game (for some unknown reason) decides to REMOVE the M-PEC buff when you get downed, I did not get the item! No problem, spawn it again. I spawn the champ again, make sure not to die or go downed and that I have the M=PEC buff before I kill it. The champ dies and STILL no item!!!!!! WTH?!
Mushroom Emperor’s Volatile Spores – Activate the M-PEC before defeating a Champion Mushroom Emperor in Tangled Depths, Auric Basin, or Dragon’s Stand to gather its spores. — The only Mushroom I’ve seen, is in DS after the dragon was killed. And of course, because it’s WAY too difficult to kill, nobody does the event. Sigh…….
If it’s proving impossible to get these items now while HoT is the current expansion, what is going to happen when the new content is released? Why are these events no solo-able for those of us trying to craft these weapons?
Since this game doesn’t allow addons that alter the UI, we rely on the devs to put the options in-game that we need. So, this is a request to improve the UI for various situations.
Healing:
In the options I can turn off ‘show player names’ for Raids, and I get some HP bars, but they disappear and are replaced by names if my mouse goes near that person. This is bad.
Also, in Fractals, when you’re not in a Squad, but in a party, you cannot disable name plates!! You can see people getting low on HP by looking at the party frames on the left (and taking your eyes away from where you should be looking, the middle, to avoid various attacks!!) but you cannot quickly find that person unless you take the time to select them via the party frames!
If we had an option to have permanent HP bars and/or names option, we could look where we’re supposed to be looking AND see the HP of our allies at a glance!
Camera Zoom
This is something that has bothered me since the release of the game, and has NEVER been fixed! Yes we can easily scroll in/out to zoom the camera, but that doesn’t make this any less annoying!
I’m referring to the auto-zoom that the game FORCES on us everytime we enter a certain area or specific event. For example, Vale Guardian Raid Boss, I like to have my camera zoomed right out, but a few seconds after the fight begins, the game zooms the camera in again, and I have to zoom out again!
This might seem like a trivial thing to many people, but it is enfuriating to me! Just leave my camera where I put it! Stop making me re-adjust it every darn time I do something in the game!
Conditions:
Condi’s are not shown on player HP bars either, making hard to see when a clense is needed.
Reward Chests:
Why do we have to have silly ‘bobbling’ chests down by the minimap that all have to be individually clicked with super-slow opening animations? When you’re in an event zone or WvW and you move your mouse just that 1 pixel too far, it hovers over the map rewards contribution instead of the chest, then you have to move it away, and then go back and carefully click the stupid slow opening chest! -.- Could you have made this any more tedious?
The opening of these chests, should have an option and be included in the ‘auto loot’ mastery!
I know some of these people don’t use macros or 3rd party tools, but the principal is the same! You’re using mechanics to allow you to go afk and continue to play in your absense, it’s NO different than if you were using macro tools or botting.

Ok, so I don’t like all this “omg meta” nonsense. It takes the fun out of the game for me, so when I list in LFG and I’m with Necro/Druid players, I get 25minute or longer wait times! This is outrageous and rediculous!
Why do we have to take the “meta” setup just to complete a simple fractal? Probably because they’re too difficult otherwise and take too long. So why is nothing done about this?
The game should be FUN not a chore.
Also, I think the rewards from fractals are a joke! Completing all the daily tier 4, rewards me some potions I don’t need and/or Stabilizing Matricies. The effort-to-reward ratio is WAY out of balance here. Opening 4 chests from a T4 daily, and getting 4 Matrices is a joke! What happened to Ascended rewards?
Back in the day, before the loot was completely ruined, we used to get ascended drops fairly regularly. You’d at least get rings as drops, plus a good chance to get weapons/armor. I’ve geared many alts from fractals. But these days, getting a ring is super duper rare, and getting and ascended weapon/armor piece is like getting a precursor drop!
I don’t see why this should be allowed at all! This is exactly the methods that gold farmers would use. Sure it’s not as effective as participating in events etc, but who cares when you have 100 accounts dotted around everywhere running 24/7 free-looting all the time.
If someone is using this ‘dirty’ method to gather mats, I think action should be taken. It’d be nice to give them a warning or two before simply banning them of course, but if they don’t respond or ignore the warnings, then tough luck!

The matchup system is a complete joke. Win 2 games, lose 8. That’s how it’s been for me. Mostly because of unbalanced teams that have what seem like ‘unkillable’ opponents! If it’s taking my team 2-3 players to kill 1 enemy player, we are quite simply: outnumbered!
Seems this problem is still presently affecting players (no pun intended!).
I think the rewards for Tier4 fractals are terrible! I’ve completed a lot of T4 fractals recently, and all I get every time is useless matrix things, potions and ascended salvage kits!!!
You’re “lucky” to even get a ring these days! Bring back the old rewards where you almost always got a ring at least, plus a GOOD change to get ascended armor/weapon chests.
With the current loot table, you have more chance to get a precursor than an ascended item from fractals! Ok, an exaggeration to be sure, but you get my point, that the loot is terrible.

I agree the costs are WAY too high, not only for Scribe but Upgrades as well. It really hurts lower Guilds and makes it hard for them to grow, because everybody wants to join the larger Max-level Guilds with all Upgrades unlocked so they have access to Gatherings nodes and Potions.
The scaling thing, like Warframe, would be great! I don’t think it’s exploitable (like getting people to leave) just to make an upgrade, the scaling effect could have a delay (in days) to prevent that. Plus, imagine the inconvenience of that.
Firstly, my opinion of the new zones in Heart of Thorns. I love how they are visually amazing, and the exploration side of it is amazing! Until you hit a stupid time-gated event that occurs WAY too frequently that blocks your progress. I’m also fed up of trying to complete “meta” map events, and being unable to join the map because it’s full. You should not have to be on the map 20-30mins prior to an event and HOPE that maps gets people just to participate. You have a working LFG system that allows you to find groups, but a broken map/server capicty bottleneck! I wanted to craft one of the new Legendary weapons and have given up on it because I cannot join meta events as the maps are full or there aren’t enough people to complete the event. It’s a complete waste of time and frustrating.
Secondly, the new season 3 maps. I will split these up individually, because I have different opinions of them all.
Bloodston Fen – If you enjoy falling to your death repeatedly because you cannot do anything while trying to glide, then this is the map for you! Even after the mobs had their stupid rock-throwing range nerfed, it’s still my most-hated zone! The mobs should have a range of 600 for that stupid rock throwing. And the portals should not spawn in ley gliding paths or on updrafts. Also, the ley gliding needs an option in the settings to “interact” with it to use it. This is for people like me who want to glide near one without being pulled away from where I was trying to fly, and sent speeding off in the complete opposite direction! Lastly, the bloodstone nodes should give bloodstones, not maybe give you 1 stone every 50 mining attempts.
Ember Bay – I can’t really fault this zone much, except that if you want to explore on foot it’s rediculous. There are way too many steps and ledges that are JUST too high to jump up, forcing you to walk a mile South to head North. If you’re gliding around and using the therman tubes, no problems.
Bitterfrost Frontier – Another hated zone of mine. It’s not has bad as Bloodstone Fen, but almost as bad. I wasted Mastery points on a useless trait that allows me to pick up a flame, whoopy. This Mastery trait should also make me immune, yes IMMUNE, to the ‘chill’ condition while in this zone! I am fed up of being perma-chilled and slowed while trying to do stuff in this zone. Even with good condi clense, it’s still rediculous. Also, those Svanir mobs need a MASSIVE damage nerf! I’m fed up with being 1shot by them! They also need a huge drop-rate increase of that stupid armor you need to get to the heart-npc. Getting 2/3 parts of the armor is eacy, then there’s always 1 piece that refuses to drop for the next 10-15mins. It’s a time waster. The Quaggan heart, near the whirlpool springs, the frequency of that event needs a hufe nerf too!
In conclusion, I’m fed up with the time-gated grind-fest zones that we’re getting just so we can purchase an item for the current ‘meta build’ to go complete a Raid or something. What happened to the founding principals of this great game?! Let me remind you of them: 1) A player can chose any profession and any build and do well. This is not the case, as there is always a meta build. My Ranger longbow will never do the 50k damage that an Ele can do with their ranged attacks in 10sec or less! (2) This game was never supposed to be an endless grind like other MMO’s, yet it is becoming that way with it’s endless time-gated zone specific materials. I’m not saying gear should be free, obviously not. I’m just fed up with having to endure these stupid new zones just to get an item.
I hope this feedback is helpful. The key things I’d like to see changed are map taxi slots increased and less grinding for time-gated events.
I think this zone needs a HUGE nerf on the range of how far mobs on the ground can hit you when gliding!
I am sick and tired of being turned into a moa, pelted with rocks, being pushed off a ledge with knockbacks/explosions and falling to my death! Honestly, it was fun and laughable for the first 10 minutes of exploring and is just stupid now.
I hate this zone simply because of the deaths and not being able to glide porperly! Also, you cannot move places without being swept in the opposite direction by a stupid ley-line current! Give the option to press a key and ‘ignore’ ley lines for gliding please!
Lastly, the time-gated ascended loot from Bloodstone rocks is rediculous. The Ember Bay wood is very obtainable compared to Bloodstone.
You’re not forced to play a specific build. if others are requiring you to play a specific build in their groups then create your own.

I’d like to play a Ranger with Longbow (not druid), who would like to take me along? Oh and I cannot afford to sacrifice a utility slot for Frost Spirit because I prefer signets with passive abilities like self healing/20% damage and condition remove and speed.
I agree with the OP that this game is way, WAY too focused on the ‘meta or gtfo’ mentality! And that’s caused by one simple thing, the face that this game is “balanced” with PvP/PvE/WvW in mind, instead of balancing them seperately! It’s simply too much work for anet devs to properly balance professions in 3 different categories.

It is NOT my PC causing lag, I can play on max settings with large groups and have 40-60FPS! But, I do turn my settings down for WvW so my client is not downloading so much texture/character detail information from those around me.
My ISP is NOT to blame! Obviously internet isn’t 100% relaiable, and we’re all suseptable to latency issues. That is not what this thread is about!
I don’t have this issue in Edge of the Mists, but only WvW borders and Eternal Battlegrounds. There is massive skill lag to the point you can’t even auto attack!!! Either the network or servers are bottle-necking and causing this. So, please take a technical team and investigate this issue.
This fractal used to be great! It was nice and fast for a daily. I do agree, that “cheesing” the Mossman needed to be fixed, and I hated being in groups that did that!
But you’ve gone from one extreme to another. You taken an easy fractal and made it way, WAY too difficult.
Yes, I know it’s doable, but not all of us are fortunate to have friends to premake a good group, and lets face it most pugs aren’t up to the challenge or rage-quit after one mistake/wipe.
Firstly, the wolf damage on the Mossman fight needs a severe nerf! If you want us to kill a group of wolves, then don’t make them 1 hit you!
Secondly, the entire Bloomhunger fight needs a serious nerf. The sheer damage you need to survive is rediculous. Maybe if you give us all 100k hp we can do it with pugs, otherwise you’ll just have to nerf it.
I love the new zone and story, however I really wish they’d do something about changing the story from the standard “dialogue, kill mobs without loot/exp, dialogue, kill more mobs without loot/exp, repeat” format.
Sure the story has some interesting twists, but why do we have to kill pointless mobs in EVERY single episode? Just remove the mobs, it’d make the story way more interesting and we can concentrate on that and then maybe do a boss fight now and then.
As for the new Fire map, it looks amazing. The Ley Gliding and Thermal Propultion is awesome and fun! However, I do wish you’d made the map more accessible on foot! The amount of times I give up on an objective or event because I cannot be bothered to walk 2miles south, to go 2 miles north just because I cannot jump up a tiny rock or ledge that’s in my way!
[EDIT] After many attempts to log in, managed to log in (without the VPN) but now have 400-500ms ping!
My average ping before the last patch was 90-120ms.
I’m unable to log in to the game today because of this error code. My internet is working (obviously, since I’m posting here!). I’ve tried connecting through a VPN as well, which sometimes bypasses lag or connection issues as the connection takes a different route.

Yup, just noticed that, cannot change zones at all. This is rediculous, honestly!
After clicking ‘ready’ in the lab, or ‘ready’ at the end of a fractal, I cannot travel beyond the loading screen!
I’ve waited up to 5 minutes for the loading screen now, and each time I’m having to forceably end my game client through Task Manager and relog back into the game.
Why does each attack now apply at least 4+ stacks of agony?
If you’re tagged by a tiny piece of fire, you get 4 stacks, a shockwave hits you, that’s another few stacks.
I have 150AR and was literally 1-hit from the agony attacks despite the fact I was trying to avoid them and only got hit by a couple of attacks!!
This is bugged since the 26-01 patch.
I’m a bit annoyed at being kicked out the map on final boss 5% left, because of a game crash and being unable to rejoin. So, to aid people in this similar situation, I’d like to suggest the following:
When a player logs out, leaves the map, crashes or zones out for ANY reason, their player slot is ‘reserved’ on the map for at least 180seconds
This will allow players to relog to another toon if needed, relog if they disconnect and relog if they crash.
I encountered 2 seprate errors, both preventing me from rejoining the map I was on. The “network error” happened after the final boss was killed, and the world was no longer ‘full’.

Rather than having to exit and re-enter the fractals, especially with Lion’s Arch long loading times, why not place and NPC inside the Lab that allows the group to change the level of the next fractal, followed by a vote of course!
If a player does not have Heart of Throns, upon reaching level 80, they continue to level over and over but are awarded spirit shards.
However, if a player has Heart of Thorns, upon reaching level 80, they get to chose a mastery to level. Once you have leveled all the available masteries, your experience bar sits at 0/0 exp. You see yellow text saying you’ve earned x-amount of experience, but it goes nowhere and we do not get spirit shards!
So, the only way for a HoT player to gain spirit shards, is from the dailies. And maybe very rarely bags or looting them.
My question is, why are HoT players effectively punished?! Our experience bar should revert to ‘normal’ so we too can gain experience and spirit shards!
Personally, I use my shards a lot for crafting. Both ascended items, legendaries and whatever other skins I want to make. I’m quite frustrated that I’m gaining experience, and it’s going to complete waste!

I think what you did with the gold rewards and experience is a complete and utter joke, and quite frankly disgusting!
There are many people who enjoyed doing some quickly daily dungeons, and we’ve now had that stolen from us!
I do not understand why this was done in the first place?! Even if the new specializations made the runs faster, that’s a good thing! These were like chores we could do each day, but at least it was earning us good coin and tokens as well which we could use to buy exptics to salvage or throw in the toilet.
Sin’ce you’ve nerfed everything in this game, all loot everywhere, dungeons, fractals etc, I’ve struggled to get crafting materials. My only option is to spend 2-3hours in HoT zone events to get barely enough materials. compared to an hour or so in dungeons, this is now a grind-fest.
As I’ve stated before, there will always be an element of grind in the game. That’s expected. But before HoT we at least had a choice where we wanted to grind! We could chose to do events, or dungeons, or fractals etc. Now it’s events or nothing, because the loot elsewhere is simply not worth the effort!
So after the so-called “improved” loot in fractals, nothing has really changed. We get a bit more coin, that’s it.
I’ve been doing 3x 50+ fractals a day for the chest, and you know what I’ve gotten in the days since the “improvement” ? 1x Stabilizing Matrix each day, and 0, yes ZERO ascended chests/weapons!!!
Before HoT, I used to do lv50 daily. I didn’t get an ascended chest or weapon often, but I got enough in a month to have a 6/6 armor set on an alt (with reforging the stats in the MF ofc).
What I’m trying to say is, there’s a hugely noticeable difference in loot drops since the release of HoT. Not only have you completely nerfed the trash mobs loot, but the actual rewards as well. Given that dungeons are also no longer an effective income source, what does this leave us? Forced to participate in pre-organised time-gated events in the new zones? You’re taking away the choices people used to enjoy before HoT and forcing us to do specific things just to earn some coin! There’ll always be a grind element to the game, but when you take away the choices of WHAT you grind, then the game becomes tedious, dull, boring, just like it is now!
Thermanova fractal, ONLY the ice wolf mobs drop any loot. That’s like 2 mobs out of 15. So we waste time killing all these mobs, for what? Absolutely nothing! This was obviously removed to prevent people ‘farming’ mastery experience, but after you anounced that you wanted Fractals to actually be a suitable means to get said experience, you never changed these mobs back to granting exp/loot! You will happily allow people to farm CoF dungeon for exp, why nerf loot and exp on fractal trash too?
I think the loot on the 50+ daily chest needs a SERIOUS overhaul! If you’re going to give a useless Stabilizing Matrix as a reward, make it 10 or 25. If you’re going to give me an Ascended salvage kit, don’t be stingy and have only 1 use/charge on it, make it 25!! Honestly, the lower level loot is actually better, which is completely backwards!
Lastly, the Fractal Encryption boxes. At least the contents award some decent coin, but then the keys don’t drop! I’m getting 11-12 boxes a day, and no more than 4 keys! This means I’m wasting gold to BUY the keys I need, which therefor impacts how much I’m rewarded. It was a very ingenious way of almost improving the loot, but not quite enough.
And again, this hop in my connection is causing me lag in the game! My ping jumps from a stable 30-40ms up to 160-300ms just because of this one single French node!
If I use a VPN on my connection, and bypass it, my ping is 40-50ms stable with 0% loss.

Yup, I noticed this immediately after patching. At first, I thought the boss I was fighting somehow shattered a clone or 2 without me realising it, so I did it again and double, tripple-checked that I had 3 clones and it only gave me the base 1.5 seconds.
The last patch has broken one of the main Chronomancer skills (Contiuum Split). This needs to be fixed asap.
On a more whiney note, why did this get broken to patch a couple of things that didn’t even need to be touched imo?
I completed the Dragon Stand event, up to and including the final boss kill. I was simply wondering the zone, exploring and unlocking things.
I was gliding somewhere, and BAM! game client crash. That wouldn’t have been a problem, as I was with a friend and could taxi back in. But, after restarting the game and logging back in, the game would not let me taxi because of a stupid ‘Network Error’!
Check my connection? Really? I’m logged in, connected to the game, while browsing this very page, and you’re telling me that my connection is not working! :P
Sure, ok, let’s restart the game just in case the log-in server doesn’t see me. Nope, no luck! I can browse the TP and Gem Store (something you cannot do it the log-in server doesn’t see you) but am still getting the error when trying to taxi.
I’m EU (Desolation) server and am being placed with NA servers through LFG. This means they cannot join my instance, and I cannt join theirs because of a network error.
This started happening for me not long after the patch tonight.
I even opened a Tixx dungeon instance, and specifally advertised ‘European only’ in LFG. I got some members, asked them if they’re EU, they said yes. But even then, they could not enter my instance! Also, before I entered, I was unable to taxi to their map in Divinity’s Reach (there was no option to do so on the party frames! It was missing).
Immediately after the patch, I started doing more fractals and the 50+ ones too.
From the 3/3 daily lv50+ chest, I got an ascended salvage kit with one, yet ONE single charge on it! No rings, no exotics, just a couple rares from the runs, blues, greens and the useless kit!
The next day, I got a single Stabilizing Matrix (ascended crafting material that are SO common and easy to get).
After two days in a row of really bad loot, I stopped doing the 50+ fractals. Today, I got my chest, went to open it in my inventory, and it wasn’t there!! My bags were not cluttered (because you don’t get much loot in fractals anymore) so it’s not like I couldn’t see it! I salvaged the few items that were there, double checked, tripple checked, nope … no chest!!

Let’s face it, this icon looks silly and with almost everyone having it, it’s extremely ugly having this icon clutter the screen everywhere you go! I’ve had a few friends comment the same thought (even PvP friends) so I just wanted to suggest this.
Remove the PvP rank icon on nameplates and only have it display in the PvP lobby and PvP matches.

Anet, wanted to make the game less grindy and less gold orientated. Being able to obtain legionaries and higher end items just by playing the game. So they decreased the amount rewarded given by dungeons… horrible idea…
Now to be able to obtain skins like the Wintersday skin, we have to do endless grinding for 10k alcohol points or stuck paying 800g+ on the TP….. so… where/when is this less grinding and less gold orientated come in to play?
Even doing these new legendary achievements… sure you can do it all by just playing… but you will be spending countless hours farming resources. Is this suppose to be more fun then grinding/playing dungeons?
None of this makes sense…. if I am wrong please tell me, I welcome all types of criticism and hope that I am wrong in all of these cases. If you are going to say I am cheap just dont bother posting, I think anyone expected to spend over 800g+ to have some snowflake effects has some screws loose.

Fractals: GW2 had a reputation for having the most friendly and helpful playerbase! But now it’s rush in, don’t greet your new group, do one single fractal, soon as you get the transition window, leave the group without a word! Next!….
What happened to grouping, greeting, playing some levels together, spending an hour together, and then parting company after some well-earned fun and adventure?
You’ve taken everything good about this game and abandonned it in a sugar-coated grind-fest expansion that’s branded as an “improvement” but is a huge step backwards in many aspects.
I would give up EVERYTHING in HoT to have the game before the expansion. There’s like less than 5 things I like about HoT and over 50 things I despise about it. Go figure.
Ok, since the Wintersday patch, I’ve not gotten any ‘double’ gathers on any of the flax in the garden!
Considering I have gathering boosters, and guild buff and gather these nodes daily accross 16 characters, I have noticed this change.
Now I realise it’s RnG and impossible to prove, but hear me out.
Before the Wintersday patch, I would get at least one toon per day (yes PER DAY!) that could gather at least one node 2-4 times! This was a daily occurance without fail. 15/16 my toons got 11-12 flax, when one always walked away with 18-22.
Since the patch, I’m getting 9-12 per toon per day with boosts still. I thought it was just unlucky RnG, but something has changed with these nodes.
I completely agree.
I run fractals with around 450-500% MF (271% account, 20% amulet, food, utility, birthday/celebration, MF booster) and you know what I get?
Mostly blues, some greens and lucky to get 1-2 rares! Never exotics or anything worthwhile!
And since they’re CONSTANTLY nerfing loot in this game, and MF only affects loot from kills, there is really no point in it at all! Since Thermanova fractal for example, has NO loot whatsoever from trash mobs. It used to until HoT ruined the game.
They should make MF affect everything! Chests, bags, kills, crafting/salvaging, mystic toilet! But no. It’s just a useless stat designed to fool you into thinking it’s beneficial.

What the title says. My options reset back to default every time I log back in. It’s very annoying. Have to turn off half the stuff, tweak my camera again, etc etc.
I am getting this problem too, it’s extremely annoying having to reset all my options everytime.
Also, my characrters feel ‘slow’ despite having swiftness or 25% pasive movement speed increase, they feel as if they only have 5 or 10%.
I’ve waited nearly 20minutes for an SMS to come through, and still nothing.
Since there is no ‘resend’ button, I am stuck! My phone has full signal, and I even sent a test txt to a friend, and he replied. I’ve rebooted my phone, entered airplane mode on/off to force it to re-register on the network, still no SMS code from Anet.
Please add a ‘resend SMS’ button to the login window. You can add a 30-60second timer on it so people can’t spam it too early as it does sometimes take a short while for codes to be sent out.
But it certainly DOES NOT take 20 minutes plus!!!
So, I can work around this by using VyperVPN and bypassing this node.
Extremely annoying that I have to spend extra money just because of bad routing outside of my control, but whatever.
Great! I connect to my VPN, try log in … oh wait SMS authentication. And still waiting, over 15 minutes now for my SMS code….
So, instead of playing lag-free, I’m forced to use my regular connection and play with high latency because the SMS code doesn’t send and there’s no option to ‘resend’ the code! Why does A-net never thing ahead and add features like this? Why do we have to struggle for 6-12months a time before features are finally implimented that should’ve been there from the start??
This game really is becoming tiresome. I hate HoT, they’ve removed everything I enjoy from the game, not given my anything good for my Ranger and nerfed my damage and now connection issues too. Why do I bother?

Ok, this French node that my traffic routes through is becoming rediclous now! Every day, any time of day, my ping is permanently high with huge skill lag because of this one node!
My connection is perfectly fine, until it hits the node (89.149.164.42) and then everything goes wrong!
Why is nothing done about this? Not even any replies to this thread, other than me complaining about this problem?

Your bottleneck is marked as IP 89.149.164.42 on my connection route to your servers. This is my 7th hop, and the 4th-last hop before my destination IP. According to lookup, this IP is based in France. It is between my ISP network and NCSoft.
Please refer to my attached screenshot for the results of my test. The application WinMTR is a network diagnostic tool that repeatedly pings and monitors the live responces in real-time.
I did 50 pings to the GW2 server IP of 206.127.159.232 which is the IP of the map I experienced lag. This happens again on ANY map in HoT zones, and started happening for me today (02-12-2015).
I have rebooted my router, and this has made no difference. Below is some information about my connection.
ISP: Zen Internet (BT Wholesale Business Network)
Connection Type: ADSL2+ 21c Synced at 23.9Mbps (line length 172m)
Router: D-Link DIR615 v4 with DD-WRT firmware
Ok, you patched the musical instruments a few weeks ago and it did improve them. But because the server-side performance is still bottle-necking all the time, there are still delays when trying to play music! This is extremely frustrating!!!

There’s a long delay, then all the notes are played at once. It’s very off-putting when trying to play, especially when you’re in a duet and listening to your own instrument as well as the other person’s.
Please look into this, and server-side performance in general. Thank you.
I decided to waste (yes waste) my Sunday afternoon getting Hero Points to play my Reaper. I’ve been at this for 4 hours, and still have a way to go. It’ll probably take my 5+ hours to complete.
So, spending 5-7hours GRINDING ‘Hero Points’ JUST to be able to play an elite specialization on my alt, is GRINDING.
Let’s say it takes 5 hours. If I have to do this on every alt I want to play, that’s (13×5=65) a total of 65 hours grinding!!! Just to get enough Hero Points for my alts.
That is rediculous, and way, WAY too much time imo. That is why I’m complaining that everything about HoT is grind-based.
Before you even start to do these hero points, you need gliding, upgrafts and mushroom bouncing. So that’s 3 levels of experience to unlock the masteries before you can even start. I think the mastery system is way too grindy. Why not let us use tomes of knowledge?
Firstly, why are you not able to do a simple thing like change the color of your tag without completely disbanding your squad?! A basic and obvious feature that should be there.
Secondly, you cannot invite players to your squad once it is formed. They also cannot /join your squad. The error “this player is alrewady in a group” comes up.
Yes, my heart is filled with thorns at the thought and feeling of this new ‘expansion’.
The concept of GW2 was that it was not intended to be a grindfest game, but rather a game that any player, both experienced and casual, could pick up and play when they wanted to play and more importantly how often they wanted to play!
With the new concepts in HoT however, the game has now become an unpleasant grindfest! Obviously, all the ‘experienced’ hardcore players will complain and try counter that it is not a grindfest, but it is. Just because you have all day to play and are willing to spend hours upon hours unlocking 200 hero points accross 20 characters, does not mean the rest of us are willing to do that!
What I enjoyed most about GW2, was how easy it was to make alts, gear them up and play with them and their many different specs.
I am dying to try out all the specializations on my alts, but since I detest grinding, none of my characters have more than 5% map completion. This makes it almost impossible to get to the new zones, plus if I want to try a specialization, I have to spend hours on EACH character unlocking map and hero points in the new zones. This is a grind.
You’ve taken away too many things that I personally enjoyed in this game! You ruined Fractals, ruined dungeons, removed the ability to easily play alts and make new characters (without grinding). What is there left to do for me in the game? I’m not interested in the new zones, events etc.
