Why is it always 4v5 or 3v5? If you are lucky enough to get 5v5, it’s ALWAYS against a team that is far more experienced and works together, so then it becomes 50points vs 490 in the first 5mins.

I’ve played 3 games today, and spent every game afk in the base bored. I’ve posted about this before, and instead of taking action and listening, I get warnings via pm.

Why don’t you READ the complain, ABSORB it and finally ACTION it.

If you cannot balance this properly, at least introduce on option for us to exit the match and try get into a more balanced one. Obviously, this would be open to abuse to would need to be balanced in itself by having a cooldown on it that stacks duration the more often it happens. For example, if you leave a match and rejoin another that’s ok. If you do it again within 15mins, you get a debuff preventing you from doing it again for a while etc.

It would be a bit of a gamble as to wether you actually get another game, but that’s your choice to rejoin. The leave option would at least let me spend 15mins of my time doing something else other than sitting afk in a game I cannot leave.

Experiencing massive lag spikes throughout the day today. Anything from simple chat delays to skill delays and rubber-banding effect.

I can play other online games without any issues at all, it’s just GW2 that seems to be laggy and it’s only been happening for me since today. I’ve had gw2 lag in the past with the September patch, but it’s been ok for the past few weeks until today.

It also doesn’t matter what server IP you connect to, even standing in town, it’s laggy. I’m also seeing lots of other players in guild, map chat and groups complaining about this.

Why is this heart SO difficult to complete? All the NPC’s in the area are friendly, and you’ll be lucky to get an enemy mob every 5-10minutes.

Unless you were there for the battle to take the temple, you will spend 30minutes or so waiting for the occasional mob to spawn so you can get completion.
This needs to be looked at.

Why does this game not have DR where it’s really needed?! You have DR on loot, where it’s not needed instead of in PvE and PvP where it is most needed!

A player should NOT under any circumstances be able to stun lock you to death. A deminishing return should kick in and prevent this.

If you look at champions, they have a buff called “determined” which prevents you from being able to CC them too frequently. This buff should be given to players.

I am sick and tured of being CC spammed to death! It’s rediculous! Look at this versus warrior, stun stun stun stun stun dead.

And you wonder why I want to sit afk in the base waiting for the game to end?

This seems to happen every time we have a patch release. Immediately after logging in, you experience 5-10second delays on everything from skills, to simply trying to open your bank tab.

The latency is intermittant and not constant, but it is there for the majority of the time. For exmaple, you can move around a zone like Lion’s Arch without any problems, but as soon as you try use any abilities or open a bank tab, you will get a huge delay.

I have rebooted my router, and am still experiencing this issue. I do not believe this is my connection, as I’ve been playing perfectly fine all day until the patch. In fact, asa test, I ran another game in the background to GW2, and that game had NO latency or lag at all!! I believe this is a server-side issue. Either your server’s are at capacity or your network is, and we’re getting these lag spikes because of that.

Ok, so after rebooting everything (Modem, Router, Switch and PC) I tried again, just to prove that this is not a local issue.

And again, I listed myself in LFG for AC, but did not enter the dungeon. I got a group of people, someone entered, and I could not join because of the network error.

The opening player was from “Northern Shiverpeaks” server which is an NA server. I asked the group, and all members were from NA servers!

Why am I being listed in NA groups when I am an EU player?

sigh So, I decided since I cannot enter other people’s groups, to enter the dungeon myself and list my group in LFG and get people that way.

Ok, I have no idea what is happening here, so I will try describe it as best as possible.

Firstly, I checked LFG for Ascalonian Catacombs (which is almost NEVER without groups!) and noticed that there were no groups at all! I decided to make my own group, listed myself and opened the dungeon. As it happens, I got a group of NA (North American) players despite the fact I reside on Seafarer’s Rest [EU]. These people noticed the server and instantly left the group because of it .. thanks.

Secondly, I then restarted my game client and tried to list another LFG for AC. I got another group, this time of EU players. Someone opened, and I could not enter the dungeons! I got the following error:

“Network error … Please check your internet connection and try again. (Code=1006:9:7:388:101)”

I restarted the game again and tried to enter the dungeon after relogging, and got the exact same error message.

Obviously there is nothing wrong with my connection since I am posting here about this issue, furthermore I am able to log into the game without any error and/or latency.

Well, we waited 30minutes for the rush to fail, with only 2 players succesfully completing it. We activated another rush … and it’s the same stupid crab one!

Thanks for wasting an hour of our time and ruining events because everyone gave up now. :\

3D Printing Characters?

I know figure prints makes very high quality figures. Not sure if they make for more than a couple of games though. Might be worth getting in touch with them.

They are able to do so because the models can easily be “extracted” from other games. For example WoW has a program called “Wow Model Viewer” which reads the game files and lets you reproduce any in-game content in the viewer and export it to 3D rendering applications.

This makes it easy to reproduce an exact replica of your toon and print it. However, GW2 does not let you view the files in such a way, so I seriously doubt they would be able to print a model for you.

It would mean sculpting it in a 3D programe from scratch and be a time-consuming process. It’d also not be 100% accurate. I’m not sure how copyright comes into things then as well.

Such a shame they lock the game up so tightly. :\

This event is way too difficult to complete! The amound of incoming damage, and lack of defensive/healing abilities when you are a crab makes this nearly impossible to complete without help.

I managed to get to the last flag and downed because I cannot dodge 37 times as is required by the event, I can only dodge twice.

Remember all your recent changes to make the game “easier” and “less confusing” for newer players? Well how on earth would a new player be able to complete this event?!? As a more experienced player, I find it difficult, so I would expect to a newer player they would find it impossible and too challenging.

There are a number of ways to solve this and make it do-able for players…

1) Provide a crab-form only vitality buff that increases vitality by 500%.
2) Provide a heal skill while in crab form that removes any karka that are attached, and debuffs and heals you.
3) Remove at least half the mobs
or
4) Make all the “green” named mobs “red” so that you can be escorted by a friendly ally.

Also, please provide an option to “cancel” guild events should we chose to. This would allow us to skip this rush event and chose another after perhaps a 5minute cooldown instead of sitting around for 30mins waiting for the timer to expire.

Even if you get 1 or 2 ppl through, none of them are going to want to run it a few times for completion. I certainly wouldn’t want to do that. In fact, if I see this rush in future, I’m just going to afk and come back when there is another.

This ability needs to last at least 10seconds if not more. A thief should not be able to stealth indefinately, which is exactly what they do.

I am new to engi and really enjoy it but am struggling in spvp with rangers specifically they just melt me with their lb 2 spamming. I am running a celestial build 6/0/0/4/4 with names and toolkit.

As a Ranger in WvW, I can never kill an Engineer unless they’re upscaled. Why? They have WAY too many survival/escape/movement abilities on a cooldown that is WAY too short!

Soon as you’re in range, you lose all your hp from push, pull, stun, knockback, then as soon as you turn to fight with some stability on, they’ve traveled accros half the map while blocking all incoming damage.

I once chased an Engineer from South to North on a borderland map, unable to touch him. I think Ranger’s need to have no cooldown on swapping weapons :P

Vengeance itself is imbalanced, especially in PvP/WvW. It should have a 60sec cooldown before it becomes available when downed.

That way if you’ve survived long enough while downed, you deserve to get up and fight.

Add "leave" option to matches

Please allow us to leave a match before the end. I am fed up of being forced to endure futile matches.

There are many reasons to want to quit and try get a better match…

  • Completely imbalanced teams (Before you’ve capped a single point, your team has the map and is on you with 100 point lead)
  • 4v5 or 3v5 scenario
  • You have a useless team that thinks it requires 4 players to capture a single point
  • You’ve joined a server IP that lags badly

I don’t think you should be allowed to freely quit often, and this would need to be balanced with a punishment for quitting. If you quit once, you can join another map immediately. If you quit again, you cannot join for 5 minutes, then 10, 15 etc.

I realise this is not going to be a popular suggestion, but since the Solo queue is a complete mess, this might be a quicker sollution than waiting for balancing that’ll never come.

Trying to play Edge of the Mists, and getting constant lag spikes. I can use party chat without any delay at all, but skills don’t work.

I’ve been standing in the same spot for over a minute now with my skill bar flashing waiting for abilities to cast, watching people around me standing doing nothing with the ocasional slight movement every 30seconds. I closed the game client and relogged to resolve this.

[EDIT] After relogging, that didn’t resolve the lag, so I decided to reboot my router and try again. That also didn’t resolve the lag.

So I’m forced to leave a perfectly good map where we are winning to try find a map on a different IP that doesn’t lag.

This issue has been going on for over a MONTH now!!! This started in the Spet30 patch and you’ve done what? Where are the replies to say “hey guys, please be patient, we’re doing this that and this to resolve it” instead of a thread 7 pages long with 100’s of people posting the EXACT same issue without any sollution in sight?

This IS NOT our ISP’s, this is a networking or server side issue. You have more than enough data here from people to action it.

I may be wrong on this, but I’m pretty sure that when you had a player in your block list, they could not see your LFG advertisement, therefor not join your group.

However, recently I am getting players joining my groups despite being in my block list. I initiate the party invite to players, and also list us in the LFG.

Any reason for this?

Lunatic Inquisition is unfair

That’s why I said at the beginning, when there aren’t that many lunatics. If you can stop them from multiplying for a while you can finish some of the collection events which will spawn allied mobs that aren’t easy to deal with for the lunatics.

It’s impossible to even GET into the arena without being spawn killed instantly on a loading screen. Then if you somehow get into the arena alive, you run around looking for junk on the floor only to find absolutely USELESS stuff, then get 1hit by an OP eviscerate ability.

Really, the villagers can only win if they work together at the beginning and that’s rare. The game suffers from the same problem every other activity suffers from. You can’t play it with friends only with random people.

You really expect pug’s to work together? This is precisely why this entire activity is an utter waste of time and effort!

People want to play the game with their friends, not complete strangers who won’t work together because they only care about themselves!

All I do to complete this event is get 7 points for survive 1minute or 10points for evading an attack, die and sit for 12minutes at the spawn afk avoiding the auto-kick. It’s boring and pointless.

Finishers - Immune/Invisible

Since this relates to both PvP and WvW, I decided to make this post in the General area.

How is it balanced when you are downed and unable to interrupt a finisher because the enemy is immune or invisible? Why bother putting interrupt abilities on the downed skills if you cannot use them to save yourself and buy time to possibly rally?

I’ve seen other posts about this, but nothing is ever really done about this problem. I think it’s completely unfair and imbalanced to allow a player to use a finisher while he is in mist-form or invisible/stealthed.

You cannot cap objectives while you are stealthed or invulnerable, so why are you allowed to “exploit” with this to kill another player?

I’ve found that it resets Mini’s and Finishers when you change something like an armor skin or dye on your character and apply it.

This error just cost me my fractal progress tonight. Almost at the end, about to zone onto the final one and bam…whole group got kicked and when we try enter “the instance you are trying to enter is full”, click that message away, and the instance is lost so we have to start over.

Sparkfly Fen map is bugging...

Hello, since this morning i’ve been having trouble playing with any char that is currently in the sparkfly fen map.
moved a character over there and the same issue has happened with him also.
Please fix this issue the game is unplayable.

Exactly the same issue. I am unable to log onto a character that is already in the zone, I just get the network error message. I can log on to any other character that is not in the Sparkfly Fen zone, but as soon as you waypoint to the zone, you get the exact same error message on the loading screen.

This is extremely frustrating, being locked from playing your “main” character and I hope that this gets resolved asap.

Cannot log into Sparkfly Fen map. I can log onto ANY other character that is not in this map, but as soon as you try waypoint to Sparkfly Fen, you will get disconnected.

I don’t understand how you’re supposed to survive over 20k worth of damage when you only have 18k health and the only “weapon” you have deals under 1k damage!

It’s completely unbalanced and pointless. All you do is go in, run around, find something useless and wait to die when some OP ability 1hits you.

I certainly will not be wasting any more time on this imbalanced activity.

Was trying to kill things in the Mad Kings Labarynth, there were less than 15 players around me at the time, so not a massive group and yet I was constantly getting 5-10second lag spikes. I wasn’t the only one to experience this, and as always the chat works perfectly fine, it’s the skills that don’t work at all.

So we decided to play some EoTM tonight, had a decent sized group with around 30-50 players in our zerg. And what happens? Green constantly following us round the map with their 500man army 1hitting us.

We are unable to do anything except provide free loot to the enemy, or spend the 3hours afk in the safety of our base with the invulnerable buff. Is that really how you want this battle map to be played out?!

As Grym said, pay to play, and move realm. So sad and pathetic that is the sollution to the problem.

We’ve not even had an official responce, or comment on the MANY sollutions and suggestions made in this thread to counter this problem. The complete lack of interest is shocking and frustrating.

So after having 2 weeks of actually being able to play in Eotm, without the “outnumbered” buff all the time, we’re now back to being a zerg of less than 10 and trying to cap things.

Since Arena Net will not even give us a reply here, the only sollution is to server switch. But how do I even see what servers are matched up together in Eotm?

Another problem with lag in dungeons again today. I managed to complete AC, CM and SE without any lag issues at all. However, when I went to do CoF this evening, I had lag spikes again. I was able to use party chat etc, but unable to use any abilities.

I’ve noticed that since April, there has been a steady decline of loot in dungeons. After the April feature patch, the content inside “bonus” chests is ALWAYS without fail 3xBlues. If you’re lucky enough to get a rare, it’ll be a useless tonic.

I’ve just ran through a Fracal, with 257% Magic Find and walked away with Blues/Greens and 1 single rare! That rare was salvaged using the Silver-fed o-matic and got me 2xSilk, not even an Ecto.

What is the point in doing dungeons if there is no loot reward? I enjoy dungeons and like to “grind” my money/materials that way, but it’s been taken away to the point that unless you run 20 dungeons a day, it’s no longer worth it.

The game is all about grinding gold to BUY materials from the over-priced TP instead of being able to obtain the materials yourself.

Bring back dungeon and fractal loot! I remember getting rares every run, even an exotic ocasionally that I could salvage or sell for materials. But now, I get rares like I get exotics … never or once in a blue moon, and get exotics as if they were precursor drops … once in a lifetime.

Honestly, the drop rates are completely rediculous and need to be revised accross the board.

I was trying to do the AC dungeon, and having constant lag spikes all the time. Thankfully I noticed this before we started the dungeon, so was able to exit and get into a new instance. Unfortunately, my new instance (IP: 206.127.146.47) also had latency issues.

I rebooted my router and PC and logged back into the instance with IP ending in 47, and still had latency issues. I do not believe this to be an ISP issue but a routing issue or network issue server-side.

[Bug] Ascalonian Catacombs Path 3

The NPC “Tzark” will often get stuck on thin air near a wall or pillar on the part when you are first turned into ghosts and have to kill the 4 graveling mounds.

If this happens, you cannot progress any further in the dungeon as he will not open the blocked tunnel to kill the final boss.

The only way around this is to exit and redo the entire dungeon again.

Please do not post suggestions on how to “get around” this, we’ve tried wp the team and all manner of skills/utilities to no avail. Please instead post your support if you have experienced this bug, so we can hopefully generate enough interest to get this resolved.

This is a long overdue bug that needs to be fixed, it’s that simple.

I was doing AC earlier with some friends, and we were all lagging at the exact same time. We were able to discuss it in party chat at the time, buy were unable to move or use abilities until the lag spike ended. None of us disconnected.

I am in the UK and the other 2 players that were affected are in Germany on seperate ISP’s.

Backstab Needs a Cooldown

This ability needs a cooldown on it. I’m sick of being hit repeatedly with 7-9k backstabs and being downed before you can even react. It’s rediculous!

I’m running full PTV (Soldier) gear on my Ranger, and am still falling victim to backstab spam. This ability simply needs a 20sec cooldown or so.

This should also be applied to other Thief “stealth burst” skills. Surprise Shot, Tactical Strike, Backstab, Sneak Attack.

EotM is working perfectly fine and as intended.

Really? So it’s intended for one side to completely dominate week after week, month after month? It’s intended that one team always has 100 players while the others have less than 30 each? I seriously doubt that is what the devs had in mind.

Fortunately, Gandara are teamed on Green this week and we’re winning for a change. After being outnumbered and losing badly for weeks. However, this does not resolve the issue, it just means other people are now in the position that I was in last week!

We’ve still not had an official responce regarding this issue.

I am also experiencing this, although not frequently, it has started happening to me the past 3 days. I’ve noticed that friends have been experiencing this issue since the 30th September patch and also seen a number of threads on this forum about it.

Today, I was in Caudacus’s Manor and each time we had a “lag spike” 2 other party members and myself all typed “lag” at the same time. So party chat works fine, but there is a massive delay in-game and sometimes disconnected. My connection was working fine and I was able to remain connected to the internet.

The server IP that we were connecting to was 206.127.159.235
Today – 15:12 (CET) – Mass Lag
Today – 14:14 (CET) – Mass Lag & Disconnect [3 ppl disconnected]
After relogging, the affected members of the group were in seperate instances of the dungeon!

After the dungeon, I ran a WinMTR test (basically a ping/tracert rolled into one, it simulates streaming over a network) and showed that I have an average ping of 44ms and 0% packet loss!!!

ISP: Zen Internet (BT Wholesale)
Country: UK (England)

I do not believe this to be a problem with my internet, but rather a server or gateway that our connection is routing through on Arena-net network. Another person in our group, who was not affected by the lag spikes, was connecting from New Zealand and also showed 0% packet loss to this server IP with an average ping of 109ms.

I don’t know why it’s doing this, but it started today. My internet is fine, and hasn’t been disconnecting at all. However, when I’m in game, maps may fail to load, saying things such as failed to access the login server, or it’ll just stay loading the map forever. If it’s not a dc, then the client will hang — all characters currently running on the screen will just keep running straight, I cannot activate any skills, even though what I do press is activated once the game resumes from the hang.

The game plays fine within the 5 minutes or in between the hangs, so it’s not my ping either. It’s getting on my nerves, and it’s caused me to miss some events because I get disconnected and most likely pushed to an instance that has already killed the boss when I re-log. Am I the only one experiencing this?

I’m starting to experience the same issue. I’ve had friends complaining about this all week though since the 30th September patch.

You can move, even use chat still (party, guild, map, say etc) but cannot use any abilities and see other players running in one direction. These lag spikes will last for anything up to 2minutes without being disconnected. Or until I forceably restart my game client or relog.

There is NOTHING wrong with my internet. I can play other games without any latency or lag. My connection is completely unrestricted and has no packet shaping on it at all.

I’ve also noticed that my character seems to remain in combat a lot longer than usual.

Also, arrows are staying about utility skills… This makes determining when you are in and out of combat a pain. Please revert whatever you guys changed to this system.

Yes, I’ve noticed this too and agree! Also, when you are “transformed” you cannot change slot skills even outside of combat! For example, Ascalonian Catacombs Path3, when you become the ghost, after entering combat, you will no longer have any arrows to change slot skills even when you are no longer in combat. If you change the slot skill after being transformed to a ghost, but before entering combat, as soon as you select the slot skill, the arrow will disappear.

Please introduce an ‘Exit’ or ‘Leave Match’ button.

This is for people like me who don’t want to endure a 0-500 game every round for whatever countless reason there is.

I doubt it… But really, just wait until the tournament is over and it will get a bit balanced since not always the biggest teams will be green.

Why should we have to put up with months of unbalanced boring pointless games because they can’t even be bothered to action this? It’s totally unfair.

At the very least we could get an official responce on this to say they’re considering the problem.

Another week’s matchup, another another bad one this week. So the problem is still ongoing in EoTM.

Ascalonian Catacombs - Lag Spikes & D/C

We are having constant lag spikes in an instance of Ascalonian Catacombs, Explorable mode.

I do not believe this to be a network issue or latency/lag issue from the player’s side because all players are from different parts of the world, connecting to the same central server and experiencing the lag at precisely the same times! We can use party chat to discuss it, but are unable to use abilities until we are disconnected.

The server IP that we are connecting to is: 206.127.159.224

I believe the issue is server load or overload/delay. Or possibly a delay in one of the network hubs that we all connect through.

Please investigate.
