5 stacks wow that does make a change. With givers, pizza and stuff you’re looking at 20s of 5 stacks per interrupt. Along with additional 3 stacks for 75% of the time. kitten , I really do want to try out a p/p hybrid build. But yeah pulling of those interrupts is quite hard.
Hard to say I find SR a really good lifesaver it adds a ton to your survivability.
So the 6th bonus is only a single stack or?
I think you’ll lose a lot of damage by going D/P though. The pistol AA and sneak attack will give you most likely a better damage out put. These runes might actually work with a P/P hybrid build with stealth utilities. Well, maybe not :P
I was thinking about the 4th bonus actually. How many confusion stacks does the 6th bonus apply? I really doubt you can get 25 stacks on someone.
The thing with P/D builds is they usually have low initiative gain and to make this work you really have to spam headshot which makes you unable to use CnD or BP-HS combo to gain stealth.
25 stacks of confusion is not possible unless the inner CD is broken? Or some other bug.
They definitely need to implement better skins. What’s the point of adding lame skins that no one wants? I don’t see why they couldn’t make similar versions of other weapons like genesis or Cobalt.

Anyway, I think the stun should be long enough to atleast get all hits of a single pw in. At the moment the stun wears of in the middle or so and people dodge the last few hits. Since there is a casting time to hit the stun which is fairly long I think having the stun atleast hit all hits should be fair? But that will pw chains with quickness again.
Pistolwhip was nerfed due the easy chaining because of quickness. But right now you can’t even land a full pistolwhip even if you use sigil of paralyzation. Very few players use this weapon set in WvW/PvP since it has no stealth options which is where the thief shines so since you can’t stealth I think you should be rewarded and thus a buff would be appropiate. Thoughts?
This is just very annoying, I’m constantly hitting clones/pets or other stuff when I’m trying to hit my target. So please fix this somehow.
I still run S/P in WvW but I admit that dagger builds seem to be overall better.
Anyway, on topic: Rangers sword auto does more damage. Thief sword isn’t designed for pure single target damage but for utility and cleave.

Had the same problem today with regular dodgerolling, tried to dodge churning earth but got hit by it mid dodge. Kinda weird. Might just be lag though.

Thieves are the only profession that really give me a headache in a 1 vs 1 setting (I’m an Engi). But anyone who runs around with only 14.9k in WvW deserves respect.
Really? I main engi and have no problem with any thief in a 1v1. Condi specced engineer will kill thieves really quick. Along with P/S, bombs, toolkit and the right traits you apply so many conditions that they’ll never outcleanse your damage. Thieves are so easy to predict even just circling keeping your back from where the thief stealthed and counting for stealth duration makes it really easy to counter a thief. Only thing that can screw you up is a good P/D thief but they rely om CnD so kiting and dodging them at the right time will screw them up big time. + blinds are great.
The only reason you don’t have trouble is because you are such a kitten stud! I bow to your greatness, oh great one.

There’s no point precasting IS into steal? You’re better off just casting IS for the 600 teleport and then precast PW into steal/shadowstep/infiltrators signet. This makes you cover a bigger distance and let’s you hit PW faster and more reliable.

What about no? Current thieves are fine, sure they can run away but so can a warrior, ranger, ele and even engineers. In PvP they’re far from OP and in WvW they’re great roamers but that’s all they can do. PvE? Who cares if one class is better you’re not competing with anyone anyway.
Well, half of his opponents were just bad and he’s a pretty good thief. Honestly any decent player on another class could’ve killed them most likely.
Making 2 a blast finisher is quite a good idea actually..
Some combo’s you should utilize:
Precast PW into steal, infiltrators signet, shadowstep: this will teleport you to your target and land the stun so you can hit the rest of your PW. Besides that always have infiltrators return up incase you screw up and have to run. Mastering teleports and your CC is key to playing S/P well.
Are these ever going to get changed? Because as it stands now they are almost never worth spending.. Let me explain for each weapon set.
Dancing Dagger:
D/D:
Why using a poor ranged cripple when you have a high damage gap closer? When people run they usually are already hurt too so heartseeker would make sense. It could slightly help out if the range was increased by a lot to catch opponents that are too far but let’s be honest don’t we have enough and better ways to catch them without using this skill?
S/D:
Again, infiltrator strike is way better at catching your opponent and even flanking strike is somewhat a gapcloser, so why would you use it? It still has use to slow someone again but then again only as last resort if you have infiltrator’s return up, and it’s too far for some flanking strikes and have no steal/other teleports. But again let’s be honest how often does that happen?
P/D:
A ranged weapon set build for conditions, well since it’s direct damage and most builds revolve around low initiative usage there’s no room for this skill really. But if your enemy is really too far and you haelve no options you might be able to slow him down with this, but then again.. There are so many cleanses/leaps and such people use it’s barely effective.

As said before P/D is a condition set and will have no use for vulnerability and again has low initiative so can’t waste it.
P/P:
Waste of initiative, another unload will provide more damage. The only reason you would ever use it is when your party consist of burst players and they can’t stack it themselves.
This is by no means a qq or buff/nerf this thread, all I reallly want is to have an effective use for all my skills and not have to use certain skills as leftover filler because they are almost worthless. If you want us to spam less skills then give us the option to use more viable skills! Besides that if you compare these to infiltrator strike, flanking strike and blackpowder both of them are just plain boring and lack flexibility and an interesting mechanic.
So are these going to be changed or should we only spam the usual stuff?

Do agree that there’s too much casting time. Just makes it feel slower and less responsive.
I don’t get why you can only get the weapons from the coffers and not sell them. I farmed 800 coffers and didn’t get anything. Lost like 10g by porting to farm them. And yeah it does kitten me off aswell when guildies get it in their first 5 boxes. I don’t get why this is still RNG based. Besides that I only want them for my PvP luck and hate that I’ve to do PvE to even get the skins. Cosmetics is all PvP has and even that is crap since you can only get them in PvE atm.

Well I must admit, these townclothes are really fancy and cool. Especially these new hats. However, we can’t use them anywhere. Barely anyone runs around with townclothes since they have no use and you can’t do anything with it. I’d be so happy – and many others- if you would give us the ability to use the townclothes in battle. I mean, what is more awesome than slaying some dragons or killing some players in PvP while I have a panda hat on my head?
If that’s not possible please give us the ability to atleast convert the townclothes skins to PvE or PvP armor.

1 knockback and 2 stunbreakers should help, besides before they are close you can already nuke them. But yeah not saying it outperforms anything but if you want to play a glasscannon ranger this is probably your best bet.
Well, since you’re GC you don’t want to be in melee range. So you want to be ranged and thus I chose LB.
I know I know, zerker builds don’t work really well with rangers but try this one out.
Pros:
- High ranged DPS (Path of scars hits 3k per hit, hits twice, pierces and has 1,2k range with a low cd. Also have barrage for AoE and rapid fire for single target. Axe auto hits exceptional high aswell.)
- Decent survivability for a glass cannon.
Cons:

We as we all know most gadgets are rubbish and therefore I’d like to post suggestions for each gadget in the hope Anet will read this someday and implement it.
Rocket boots.
I’d say make it work like the warrior whirlwind, you can choose the direction you want to launch to and it will break stun, remove all snares and will evade while launching with a cd of something between 30 and 40 seconds. Should still be a blast finisher at start launch but could act as leap finisher aswell? This, in my opinion will create more build diversity and would improve this gadget by a large margin.
Fun fact: Allies granting you stability effectively counter your rocket boots and you won’t launch.
- New/Better rewards (unique pvp skins etc)
- New gamemodes
- More build diversity/balance

Recipes don’t give you the same item 100% of the time. Usually you have a certain item that you get with a 75% chance then an item with 20% chance and a more rare skin with a 5% chance or so. (% is just a guess)
Could do with a new skill like
Bullet rain – Cone AoE damage that has a chance to apply a random condition or something.

Would be great imo, I absolutely hate PvE and lvling through WvW is just boring since you’re not effective at all at low lvls. Dunno why not really..
I wanted to make something along the lines of a HGH engineer with nades and the closest thing I could make is this build.
Pros:
High condition damage
Average direct damage
Loads of AoE from traps and pet skills/weapon skills
AoE res from elite
Decent survivability (2,4k armor, 20k hp, empathic bond)
A lot of ranged pressure but also good at close range
Long waterfield+blast finish from pet
Cons:
No stunbreaker
Pet might die quick in teamfights
No real burst
Can’t stomp very well (no stability or blinds)
Role:
Quite the same as the HGH nade build you’re mostly roaming and putting down loads of AoE. At the beginning you can win the teamfight easier due 2 resses from spirit and your huge AoE damage.
Thoughts?
Quite well if you switch the signet for withdraw.

Decent damage
Squishy against burst but inf return helps a lot to avoid burst

Well the main damage comes from flanking strikes and larceous strike which will hit from the side very often due it’s roll. A flat 10% damage increase from runes of the thief is a lot! (That’s 10% normal damage increase but aswell 10% crit damage increase) I know condition damage is worthless with this build but the 6th bonus and precision makes it worth it imo. Besides runes of divinity wouldn’t work too well since the crit rate isnt as high as with glass cannons. Rune of the warrior is interesting but 1s less seems too little effect imo and you need the precision to actually make use of the crit damage you get from valk. Leeching is underrated imo, it gives you about 1,5k hp for every swap and since you’re going to swap as much as possible for the ini proc trait it gives you a lot more sustain. Signet of agility gives more ini and more ini is more healing so yeah.
Hey guys, I tried to come up with a 1v1 build that can actually survive a bit while still doing some good damage.
I haven’t been able to test it out yet so I’m not sure if it works out well.
Basically you steal boons when your enemy has some up and try to position yourself behind your enemy and CnD, daze, (immobilize), auto attack them. Using Steal after you lost 3k hp or so and use infiltrators strike and return to stick on target and stunbreak.
Thoughts?
I don’t care. This is the only way to give it attention.
