Devs, easy fix for KR.

Imo EG KR is just not effective as the purpose of the kit is support. I think a good KR for EG would be an AOE cleanse and drop a 3s waterfield. Now it’s supporting your allies and has good synergy with acid bomb for the AOE heal.

Grenadekit KR just feels out of place due the kit being 1200-1500 ranged dmg and the KR dropping a mine in melee range. Give us something that would help us at long range or something support/defensive. I’d say add something like your next grenade attack is doubled in damage and removes a boon per nade hit. Atleast something along those lines. Would make far more sense imo.

Don’t wait another month. Fix it before the next patch.

Replace the global cd with an inner cd and we’re good. (A little cd reduction would actually help us forget the old KR.)

After that you can fix grenade and elixergun effect. Atm they’re quite useless but you can save that for the next patch. For once do not let us down and surprise us. I appreciate the work you’re doing but when you make a wrong decision, FIX IT ASAP! And don’r wait please.

Ah yeah forgot about that. Started off with Carrion in mind for hybrid but switched to rabid since I hate running around with low toughness. Should be inci ammo instead of schrapnel.

Well node defence or assault I supose. Suposed to be effective in 1v1 on nodes or even 2.

Magnet-Prybar-Slick shoes-Elixer U-Toolkit auto

Quite some decent damage there. Finish off with overcharged shot-netshot-throw wrench with static discharge.

Yeah if all your skills are instant cast maybe. Anyway before the patch it already stacked like this and if you have high condi dmg you used to hit 2k too if you land concussion bomb, prybar and static shot. It’s not a bug. In WvW too.. you can hit up to 4k ticks in there. Just pay attention and don’t spam skills or cleanse it. Easy to counter if you pay attention really.

Nope.. not really. Played one for a couple of hours but minions/clones etc.. Screwed up the targetting and they die very quick and the KB range is usually too short. Quite hard to stay alive too with the lack of stunbreakers and good condition removal.

Your build doesn’t really include anything from the new patch though.. Only rifle turret really which you’re only using for the toolbelt skill I supose.

I was wondering if this was working as intended or if it’s a bug.

Atm, cleansing formula states in the tooltip to cleanse conditions when you use an elixer. However it doesn’t work for the following skills despite being classified as elixers.

Acid bomb doesn’t cleanse, Super Elixer doesn’t cleanse an additional condition and the elixergun toolbelt skill doesn’t either.

I think if this gets fixed it would open a few more builds that do not have to rely on elixers for cleansing and just use EG.

Anyone got some good turret gameplay? I’ve tried turrets in PvP and they are not doing anything for me tbh.. I traited fully into turrets and it would still do barely do anything for me. Only decent thing about them was the KB trait.. I’d love to see some turret gameplay that is actually effective.

Hybrid nades ftw.

Works very well with rampagers. Prefer it over full zerker.
But mix it with rabid and a bit of soldiers or knights to keep your surivability high enough. For WvW atleast.

10/30/0/30/0 with a mix of rabid and knight gear and you should be fine. Take Jugg and HGH and maybe boon duration runes. Stick with the melee part of the zerg and hit everything in your path. But yeah watch your hp cuz retal is brutal when you use FT.

While it’s a cool idea, it’s also very similar to the kits we already have and is basically an improved version of throw mine but with 5 mines and different effects. It’s a cool idea but I wouldn’t really use it compared to nades I think. Maybe of it replaced throw mine as a kit.

They also mentioned a condition damage buff. Which is something I’m quite curious about. Looking forward to other buffs too. Hope they’ll put engineer ij a better spot. Well reason for using shield is the amount of control really. Also reflect projectiles can be very effective in some cases. Besides that I’d like to point out that this build is only focused on 1v1 situations. I want it to be most effective on that part for the tournament.

@Creld, the reason I’m not using cloaking device is that it’s too obvious imo. When I see an engineer stealh out of nowhere I know it’s the trait and he’s still rooted. But yeah might just be me, 100 power is nice though for nades. Even though you’re only running with +475 power it’ll make the direct damage from your nades/prybar hit quite hard.

@Dyeus, reason I’m not running condition duration runes is that they’re bugged atm. according to a dev post a while ago. Didn’t test it myself but I’m avoiding them for now. Besides that toughness+healing works well with the build and the 1s burn on block is kinda my alternative for losing blowtorch. Depending on the hit rate of your opponent you might even be able to stack an equal amount of burning. Also, I’ve used geomancy for a while lately and it seems to be a lot better than battle imo. Does quite some direct damage and applies 3 bleeds on a 9s cd.

I’m hosting a 1v1 tournament in my guild tomorrow and wanted to show them how effective or strong an engineer can be. So please help me out here. I’ve come up with a couple of builds but this is my latest:

Pros:
- Decent damage due Grenardier, Toolkit prybar and Pistol dart, static shot.
- 3 ways to fully mitigate damage, gear shield, elixerns and the 2s shield block. + burning when you block attacks.
- High toughness/Healing power, heal on 16s cd + reset at 25% along with med packs. -> fury for more dmg.
- Decent amount of cc, magnet, shield 4, 5

Cons:
- Condition removal..

Back in October you guys told us you were testing custom matches intern. So.. It’s 5/6 months later and we haven’t heard anything about them anymore? I mean, you said soon back then and while soon is relative, 6 months seem to be quite long to be “soon”?
I think Custom Matches would be a great addition if it would allow us with enough options to “create” our own game modes so we can atleast change the pace a bit. Besides that it would give us the ability to host duels/tournaments ourselves and give you guys more time to work on other stuff I guess. So, can you guys give any information at all?

I’m really loving pvp and tournaments along with testing new builds. But I also like to do WvW! So whu can’t I gain money, exp through PvP? What exactly is the reason of not having it? All I can see is that more people would play PvP instead of PvE.

I just got to 80 yesterday on my warrior, and I am going to proof it by grabbing some lvl 80 rare gear and giving it a shot. I am trying to figure out what the best armor/trinket combos are.

On paper this really does look genius, though.

I always like to try stuff out that people call not viable and yet make it work. So, I wanted to show you the build me and my guildy came up with.

Pros:
- You apply, weakness, bleed, cripple, confusion, burn and poison on regular base, so high condition damage.
- 4 interrupts, low cd
-> 4 possible ways of stacking 3 stacks of confusion for 6s.
- 3 blocks with med cd, you reflect projectiles, and apply a 1s burn for each hit! Shield stance has never been this awesome before!
- 3,2k armor, you can tank a ton of direct damage!
- Quite mobile with Savage leap.

Cons:
- Condition removal besides Signet of Stamina is very little.
- Healing doesn’t heal you that much.

This build is a very strong 1v1 fighter and when played right can be very effective. The real gem of this build are really the Guardian runes and the Distacting Strikes trait to apply burning and confusion to up your damage.

Oh, you could btw grab mobile strikes instead of the 25pt minor trait in the toughness tree but since you still do some decent direct damage and have high toughness the power increase is quite good.

Let me know what you guys think.

For PvE, your statement would be true. Condition is not viable at all.
For PvP, your statement is arguable at best. Condition has always been a nice alternative. (Note: I do not mean pure condition)

Maybe my knowledge about condition warrior specs is too little but I haven’t heard or seen anyone really call it viable in PvP. But that might just be me then. In that case disregard my comment.

Well there is a reason why it’s not viable because it has flaws. A build like has

  • control of your enemy unless they have stability up then it’s pretty useless for the moment.
  • can be kite easily and you’ll be easy picking
  • may be decent depending in a 1 vs 1 fight depending on the players skills, but overall not good.

and with your condition level it’s not enough to make a opponent sweat in their pants much. The only profession you’ll put fear on is warrior profession.

I’ve tried this build in the past and as you say it has its moment, but overall it’s not a great build. DW warriors won’t have a comeback unless the devs tweak those playstyles giving it more flavor.

Well it’s most effective in 1v1 situations and as node defender it would do great.

- Stability is rare and usually not long and you still apply other conditions and your direct damage does some decent damage too.
- It has the ability to cure snares, leap and immobilize and would be best for on a node so I’d say kiting won’t be too much of a problem.
- Ofcourse it depends on the opponents lvl of skill too but the 4cc’s the single and duration blocks along with stability and condition removal makes up for a solid build when a decent player uses it. I think it has potential. CD warrior specs seem to be very frowned upon but I think this build works fine.
