I personaly don’t think that there is anything wrong with having Wintersday patch being released on its own.
But the break between the build up and the finale is rather unwelcome. It’s almost like watching your favorite tv show, just to find out that the final episode will air after the holiday break. Holiday break where we have the most free time out of the entire year.
I understand the limitations and everyone wanting to spend time with their families and so on. There is no misunderstanding in that whatsoever.
But (and it’s a significant “but”) we’re caught in a very weird situation. Considering that the Episode 8 is the final episode of the season (which was never communicated, nor any schedule was provided for full season episodes release, but that’s entirely different conversation), we have nothing to look forward for the beginning of the year, BUT that one episode. Considering that you guys will take the normal “in-between” seasons break, all we have to look forward to is 1 episode and then another weeks(if not months)-long break.
I don’t think that this break is the actual issue, but a “break before the break” is. Which puts a lot of us in the situation where we have nothing to look forward to for the next few months other than that 1 final episode, which judging from the build up and all those unanswered questions and events that happened over this season, I can only assume will leave us with another BIG cliffhanger.
Thought I’d share my piece.
Amazing
Thank you so much!!!
The big issue I’ve noticed lately over the past few months is that there’s a pattern when it comes to players that are playing every day vs players that are not playing for a long time and come back after a long break. Those players that been gone for a while seem to have increased drop rate. Almost every other friend of mine that came back after a few months break ends up with either really expensive exotic item or a precursor in their hand within a week of them playing again. Is this intentional?
It’s a neat idea. The only issue I have with it is the 500 Gem price. With 250-300, u’d get many more sold. Just saying.
Can we expect any town clothes items mentioned above coming back during Black Friday sale?
Can we please get a response on this?
Why was it changed?
Will this change continue with further LS updates for other armor pieces?
Since at this point I can’t spend ANY Bandit Crests, all because I need to hoard them all for skin unlocks, rather than enjoy other things available at the merchant. Makes it far more less fun to experience the new area when you cannot let yourself spend any crests…
The quiet now is not an indicator of anything other than the fact that, at this time, the company is not talking about the future but is, instead, working on it.
You guys misunderstand the problem. Miscommunication is not about you guys not talking about the future content you’re workin on or you might be working one. The real problem that gets everyone worked up every time is the patch changes that are talked about only after those changes are in effect.
Good examples:
- Fractal Reset
- Leveling
- Traits
- Skill Unlocking
- Gem conversion
Some of the most fierce issues that people are freaking out over are the ones that no light been shed till the very end. We understand the story shouldn’t be spoiled. The exciting updates that are far from being finished shouldn’t be talked about. Even the updates that will make TP speculators go nuts shouldn’t be shared till very end.
But when you adjusting our gameplay, changing the way we play, reset our levels, or even limit our purchasing abilities for the sake of it being too “complicated to begin with”, those changes should be brought up.
PvP is a great example of how those changes are handled. “We gonna change this, this and this next month”, leaving it open for discussion and still more than enough time to make little changes and tweaks before patch goes live. That would go immesurably far with PvE and WvW community if you gave us same oppenness like PvP receives. You can keep major stuff a secret and make it a surprise, but if something is gonna completely change the way I play my game, please give me a heads up, so at least we can give you our opinion on it before it hits the fan after it’s released.

I would love to see Wide Rim Glasses reinclusion along with it
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/bltc/Wide-Rim-Glasses-reinclusion/first
Given a recent post about Bunny Ears reinclusion , I figured I might as well request the reinstating Wide Rim Glasses back to the Gem Store.
I have missed it like many other people in the past since it was just a town clothes item at the time when it was removed. Now with the inclusion of wardrobe, many of those items became a commodity that many people desire. It would definitely be very beneficial financially for Anet to bring them back.
Thank you very much for at least consideration of mentioned item.

I vote for mini-lupicae. I just want to read the combat log, “Mini Lupicus critically hits you for 100 using mucus overload!”
But really, if they would change the spawn times so that the burrows spawned immediately after the previous burrow was killed or at the current timing if that burrow is still up, I think that would make the encounter more interesting. You might actually have to, you know, kill some gravelings :P
^ And this is why we can’t have nice things.
We hear you, but we just gonna do what we want to do instead ™
Why doesn’t anyone ever look at the date of the OP before posting?
I just find it hilarious that they’ve been working on it since last year xD
“working”

…doesn’t break immersion.
Hahahahaha. I don’t….. Hahahaha
They should just speed it up slightly and randomize the order in which they spawn to make it more dynamic. That would be sufficiently exciting.
They never do simple fixes… Anet has a history with these things…
Now… Where did I put this thing…
Oh! There it is!

I’m sorry, but I’d rather have them spend time on a real WvW.
We’re currently working on a way to make the paths you have accomplished more visible without further cluttering up the achievement page.
No worries, they’re currently working on it!
Makes you wonder what do they mean by saying “We’re currently working on…”
Would be nice, but knowing ANet…
They would make it longer and put more mechanics into it to make it more “interesting” which would end up being plain annoying at that point.
To OP: Don’t complain… It leads to bad places…
All of us (GMs) have character names starting with GM (GM Proheals, for example). We are online 24/7 and responding to reports sent by you via the in-game reporting system. 98% of the time we’re invisible clearing bots and the like.
To remove someone using hacks (teleports, speed, etc) we have to witness the act in game so you must use the in-game reporting tool. The only exception is if you can point us to chat where the player cheating has said they are using a 3rd party program.
Hope this helps, I’ll check in later for questions.
Now, could you please tell us what we should include in the report and what should we report it under since “Hacking” option is not available. Any kind of details you guys need us to include that will help you crack on these guys?
The information would be very appreciated.
I’d like to see 2 things added:
1. Griefing- dungeon griefing/instance stealing is a very serious problem currently, yet it seems that neither LFG abuse reports or support tickets get anything done about this.
We should start with party chat not being wiped when leaving/being kicked from the party and thus being forced to change instances.
While doing that it would be nice if guild chat wouldn’t wipe either when u swap toons.
8)hacking/exploiting
Hacking part would be very beneficial in today’s WvW as many hackers has been showing up doing stunts like jumping up the wall or going thru them.
Along with a term called “Rubber Banding” where they “lag” their way into speed movement that looks like they’re blinking every 1-2 seconds ahead. Very common with hackers using Omega Golems.
As of right now there is no efficient way to report these guys as they’ve been doing this for months now. Not to mention Map Chat bragging about being able to hack their way into towers/keeps/SM.
Example: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/wuv/wuv/Mad-Skillz-or-Mad-Cheater/first
And this is why we can’t have nice things…
TL;dr: This change is coming, as soon as it can be scheduled and prioritized. Naturally, some matters that are higher on the priority list but this project will be scheduled as appropriate.
Can’t you guys just put it back in for the time being until it can be worked on?
The amount of time we spend in cinematic sequences is miniscule anyways.
I saw the test of the new interface today and it looks solid to me. (I also happen to think it’s very attractive, but maybe that’s just me.
)
The interface and Custom option move into testing now, and the text is already headed to Localization.
The dev team is keenly aware that there are Halloween items available only during a specific period (through November 4) and therefore they intend to do their darnedest to offer the new options in the next few days but certainly in advance of November 4th if humanly possible. (I have confidence this will happen.)
Since you’ve already seen the new UI, you can surely tell us if the exchange graph is coming back too?
Hey there,
Here are a few tidbits from the team:
- A lot of newer players had trouble with the interface. That doesn’t apply to you, you’re veterans who have been around the conversion block a time or two. But newer players will benefit from the updated system.
- The goal was to make the Gem Store more like other shopping experiences, and if you think about it, there is more of that feel to it now.
- You may be surprised to know this (I know I was) but very few people bought gems at smaller denominations than the first one offered in the new system. That’s not to say they never did, nor that there wouldn’t be the desire to do so. But overall, the current options were selected based on player purchases in the past.
- The team is going to listen to your feedback and, if and when it’s practical and desirable, they can look towards adjusting the new system to better meet your needs.
So please keep your thoughts coming on the new system. Feel free to make suggestions but please, keeping them constructive would be very much appreciated.
Then keep the current system you’ve designed to help newer players “understand” the feature easier. BUT (and it’s a big “but”) keep the old option for us veteran players accessible, as we’ve learned it over the years and adapted to it. At this point you’re not only making it easier for new players, but also remove an option from us older players.
I’m all up for making things easier and more adaptable, but at the same time removing ability to purchase say 47 gems instead of set amount is very freedom limited.
Please consider adding the old system to the new way so we still have the freedom we’ve grown found of to have. Many of us have odd numbers of gems that are now been deemed useless.
Thanks in advance for consideration.
I’ll take 75

That is all.

I aggree, everyone isn’t going to play the WvW tournament.
SAB would fit just so perfectly to fill this break.
Even so, the tournament is only 4 weeks long this time.
I can play my personal story once I exited the starting dungeon area in the old system. Now I have to grind all the way to level 10. That’s not " the things unlocked at later levels are earned at about the same time period you used to start using them in the old system in actual real game time " Colin.
That was not changed for that reason. The reason why they changed that was to fix the flow of the story itself. This in my opinion was a required change. my wife stated her big gripe was that she did not like the frequent interruptions to the story bits with leveling. Now she won’t be interrupted on new characters she plays. She was a little confused about the change (She does not read patch notes) but she basically took it as oh so I need to level up more to access them ok.
Key farming was the real reason behind this. It’s no secret…
The topic here is that, the level of taste when choosing a design for the leather crafter’s back piece. There are many other options to choose from but why put a bear’s head on it? That head is of no use for leather crafting.
In comparison to the other back pieces, you can see the progression starting from a very basic back piece then to a more elegant piece. While leather back piece, starts out to be elegant then to a pile of dead animals.
Beginner leather worker will have their materials and tools all over the place, but a more experience leather worker will have their materials and tools organized and more systematic. The 400 leather crafter back piece doesn’t reflect the level at all and the head of a dead animal only makes it worst.
Irrelevant. It takes less than 22g to get Leatherworker to 400 ( source ), so nothing prestigious.
Btw, you know what leatherworker uses to craft?
Hint: It comes from dead animals.
So solution is still in place: don’t wear it, or make something else.
I’m wounded!
Irrelevant. It’s a topic focused on the OP. xD
Do you even know what “irrelevant” means?
Let’s stay on topic please.
What’s the topic here? You looking for attention because you made something you can complain about? Then you shouldn’t have made it. And if you made it for stats (which are relatively low in comparison to ascended) use transmutation charge to change it into something else. End of problem.
I think salvaging might be unlocked at level 15, especially since it would overwhelm new players.
Also “wardrobe” and “transmutation” come to mind. Just saying…
Wait for it… wait for it…
Boom!
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Honor_of_the_Waves_armor
Is… Is that a bear head as a head gear?! =O
Does this mean that it will affect level 80s?
Yes it will but the change will not be easily noticeable.
Then the natural question to this would most likely be: Why?
There’s no reason or need for level 80 to be affected by Profession Loot system. Nor there is any actual desire for this system from maxed out levels. Can it be turned off?
But regardless, Why? is the major question at this point. Is it the coding deal? Could it not be separated on such a short notice? If so, do you think it’ll be incorporated in the future, or maybe at least considered?
To be honest, the past CDIs left me with a sour taste in my mouth. As you were trying to communicate, there was really no going back and forth, but rather bringing up topics that you seem to be interested in discussing. All while ditching issues and problems that some wanted to be addressed, putting them in the “derailing the topic at hand” bucket.
Regardless I really hope you guys are a little bit more transparent this time around. Don’t get me wrong. I can see you’re trying Chris. While being completely unable to share any details on anything with us, you actually manage to say something about nothing. Which is a good trait to have. Especially since the communication is so scarce that anything will do at this point.
Community in general seem to be pleased with past CDIs and excited for future ones. Which somewhat gives me hope for the future of dev-player communication.
But please be open to criticism. Because in the past Living Story updates, when we had a great update, devs were all over the forum, taking praise and feedback alike. All while communicating with players. But it seem the second an update was not well received, Anet been put on a lock-down in the forums. Hundreds upon hundreds of feedback, complains, ideas, propositions unanswered and not resolved.
You have to realize we love this game. Some of us more than you do for our own personal reasons. So we’re not here to be against you, but rather help you make this wonderful game even better. So if we see something done right, you’ll hear the praise, but don’t turn your back when we see something we don’t like.
Report back if you get the refund processed, or any info from support on that matter.
Not sure what’s my plans are for today, but if anything I’ll be sure to give you a shout out! I know words “drunk” and “fractals” are both involved tonight. We’ll see
I wouldn’t take snowblind second either. Harpy fractal all day.
This.
I don’t know… That Shaman/Ettin combo takes forever… They’re literally damage sponges… I’d take snowblind over them any day. Quick and easy.
I wouldn’t mind doing underwater as my second or third fractal… They literally killed that level…
3 armor chests from a level 49 run. Never seen that before o.O
1 Healing, 2 defenders. Let’s just say the other 2 guys were pist xD
Last case is always leaving the instance except for the opener. Then opener dying him/herself trying to respawn it. But yea, sure enough you should put in a bug forum at least for a reference for them. Especially since a fix to a fractal level, if anything, we’ll see in roughly 6-12 months. =/
You all have to res at about the same time as well. Wiping alone won’t fix it.
This is how I feel anet is reacting to their players

To be clear, Anet is the female :P
Omg! Yes! Total Anet!
