Is it wrong then that the reason why I made this post is because I want the pants from 1 set and the boots from another? I only play one character now so yea, I’m kinda strange.

No, but it also gives them more of a reason not to make full sets anymore because people with only one toon (like yourself) are willing to pay tons of gems for one piece. This is exact reason why we have 400gem pain masks in gemstore, which is just an outrageous money grab. All while people that are waiting for some quality work are stripped off their gems. Good example would be Toxic Mantle Skin and Toxic Gloves Skin . Two pieces. 400gems each. Together > 800 Gems which is = full priced armor set.

This is where we have our misunderstanding. I understand that stuff happens and they didn’t promise anything. What I’m annoyed with is that the thing is being pushed back over and over again. Stuff happens can be used once, maybe twice. But they already used up their 2 get-out-of-jail cards. “Stuff happens” is not an excuse anymore. Precursor crafting was first mentioned in the first months after release, then it was said it’ll be done within the first months of the year (2013), then pushed back back to be done within the next 6 months… Now they’re saying it wouldn’t even work anymore. It’s not players calling out Anet about promises, it’s players running out of patience.

The keyword is ‘planned’ and then they further stated that (like all plans) things could change.

You know what they say about ‘even the best laid plans’…..

There is a distinct difference between ‘planning’ on something happening, and ‘promising’ that something will happen.

That’s what all the politicians say. I promised, I planned, things changed. And it is so working for their popularity. In other words, you should not promise something you cannot deliver.

They didn’t promise though. They said we are working on ‘x’. We plan on having it done by the end of ‘y.’ However, as with all things related to development, this could change based on ‘a’ ‘b’ and ‘c’. That’s how it works. kitten happens.

It’s like you telling your kid you plan on doing ‘x’ with them, but instead something comes up and now you no longer have time to do ‘x’ with them. You planned on ‘x’, something else made it not possible to do in the time you had allotted for it. You neither lied, nor did you promise anything.

Nothing political about it. That’s just how life happens.

I would understand if they actually tried to work towards it. But instead of spending valuable time towards things that’s been asked for such a long time by so many, they’re putting their workload towards features like megaservers that’s nobody asked for it ridiculous.

Side note: people asked for underflow server that would trigger like an overflow if the minimum playercount wasn’t met, but it’d still work as an option where you can stay on the same map. What Anet did instead is put all their development power to create a complete overhaul. People didn’t like the idea of overflows either, instead we don’t have “overflows” anymore, since they’ve been renamed to “megaservers”.

In regards to your example with a kid. With Anet at this point, they couldn’t “hang with the kid” not because of actual reasons, but because they felt like painting a portrait of the backyard, which will end up on top of the pile in the basement covering dust. They need to adjust their priorities. Especially since Megaservers gave them more issues than thing they “fixed”. And yet they’re not addressing any of them either…

And you sir are part of the problem.

I get that a lot. Perhaps I’ll change that to my quote in my signature block.

For the record though, it’s Ma’am…

I apologize, had no way of knowing. Account name didn’t share any hints.

But we all have that set that we think 1 piece would look amazing with our outfit. But with Anet and the way they are, we cannot expect to get separate pieces of a set on sale. Rather they will design separate pieces alone and sell it for over 60% of a cost of a full armor.

I fell much better buying an outfit for 800gems than let’s say gloves for 500gems, especially since I have multiple alts.

I can see the point if a person is strictly 1 toon player though. But even then the prices for singular skins are outrageous.

I’d still rather pay 400 gems for 1 item than 800 when I know I won’t be using the rest of the set. It’s simple really, pay 300-400 per item or 800 for the entire set. I think this would just give people more options when they are trying to create a very unique look.

And you sir are part of the problem. That’s why we have 500gem gloves, 500gem shoulders, 400gem mask here and there. Instead of well designed set that you can probably use at leas 2 pieces from.

I say no to the idea, because it would make everything unaffordable. No sets would come out anymore, rather you can get separate pieces and put them together for triple the regular price of a whole set.

I’m not actually looking forward to new legendary stuff. I’d rather have them sort out the current issues with the game than introduce carrots on a stick. And after that give us something more substantial like better horizontal progression, improved guild functions, more customization for our characters etc. THEN more things to grind for.

The guild functions is nowhere near their priority list. They added “last online” which should’ve been there since day 1 with feature patch. But the megaservers completely destroyed any guild missions and organization we’ve had. Guild Missions are now complete chaos every time they’re started. Nothing has been done to fix this. Guild recruitment is completely destroyed as well, since we’re mixed up with all those people from different servers. And if we recruit a person outside of our server they receive no bonuses provided by the guild nor they put influence towards the guild either (at least not the version that’s on main server). Guilds are a complete mess at this point.

New legendaries are bound to come out when precursor crafting is released, it’s only logical, and precursor crafting won’t be released in the near future.

https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/crafting/gw2-precursor-recipe-scavanger-hunt-news/first#post3780700

Honestly I don’t think it’s ever coming, they’ve been talking about it for a year and a half now and keep pushing it back and saying alleged work done on it needs to be completely redone, it’s like the third time they’ve had to scrap it and start at the beginning.

The best part is that they’re back to drawing board, since they said that their initial plan for crafting doesn’t fit the game system the way it is now. So, probably another year or two.

Everyone who has ever done any work in real life should know that timetables, schedules and deadlines are always subject to change and are dependant on so many things that any long-term estimations are far-fetched at best.

I would be fired if I continually failed to meet deadlines.

The problem is not scheduling and timetables. The problem is their focus. Rather than working on what should be a priority because of how much it was asked for, they put all that valuable time working on Megaservers (which are a complete fail imo) that nobody ever asked for (what was asked for was “underflows” which have completely different approach). It’s like your boss giving you a job that he’d like to see on his desk by the end of the week. But you work on a project you think might be cool instead. At the end you have a failed project and your boss is mad because you didn’t do what he asked of you.

Btw, side note: We gotta do more fractals together! Make it happen! xD

I think they’re trying to “show” that there is a dungeon team and they’re working on stuff, but the problem they’re randomly coming up with stuff that nobody asks for and put them in game. And don’t even want to start talking about fractals ,_,

Yeah, possibly…
Or perhaps they don’t want to spend budget on dungeons, so who ever is working on them has very limited time or resources to make bigger changes.

The problem is not the budget, but as with every Anet project they ever partaken is the actual focus on thing that needs to be worked on. In most cases the “fixes” are not welcomed, nor they’re asked for. How do you justify the money towards the project (even as small as fixing CoF p1 room but putting the wall over it) when you know nobody will be happy about it.

What Anet lack is the focus. They take feedback (that’s when they actually take feedback and not just open the thread up to let it collect dust) and instead of working on major issues and requests, they do their own thing. In some cases it’s obvious that person working on a given dungeon / fractal never ran it regularly nor (in case of fractals) partaken in a high level run on multiple occasions. Rather than that, they do what they’re given on a list of things that Anet just penciled in without looking more into what the actual end result will be after making said change. In case of fractals and dreadful Fractured update, QA Team did a horrible job in actually testing every level on every instability, thus everything went to hell and certain levels are not being ran ever again, because they’re either not fun or just plain build-breaking.

For example with the last CDI on fractals, people complained about rewards and dredge, when nothing was left, rolling came up as an “issue”. I can almost see now that “rolling” will be their focus if they even start working on fractals again. All while dredge will be untouched again, rewards bumped up by 10s and another reset will take place.

They probably pick their focus groups based on RNG rather than quantitative and qualitative responses of people that actually make sense and have solid facts behind them.

“Seems”.

They did abandon them. They do not have a dungeon team. They don’t care. So here we are.

I don’t have omnipotence so I cannot really say… Maybe there is like… One guy… Diligently working that everyone has forgotten about… I can hope.

TBH, there’s only 4 major things that were done to dungeons in the past year or so. Excluding fractals (which was mess based on zero communication) they did the following:

1. They nerfed continuous dungeon runs, thus killing CoF farm.

2. They added gold rewards to each dungeon path (even though they’re not balanced rewards).

3. Deleted a F/U dungeon, whilst adding Aetherpath path.

4. “Nerfed” boss chests to once per day, while somewhat balancing some paths adding a silver here and silver there to overall end reward.

The list is not so impressive by any means, point #4 makes absolutely no sense, especially since some paths share same bosses. There was absolutely no reason nor need for it.

I think they’re trying to “show” that there is a dungeon team and they’re working on stuff, but the problem they’re randomly coming up with stuff that nobody asks for and put them in game. And don’t even want to start talking about fractals ,_,

Anyway it’s very clear that player skill is being ruined and the source is directly related to bunny ears being wearable in combat.

This is not in the WvW sub-forum, so I actually do expect a response at some point…

Just a simple “We acknowledge the problems and will work on a solution” would go pretty far. Its not that hard, honest.

That would be stating that there is a problem to begin with, which judging from their latest blog post, everything is working great.

On that note, WvW Sub-Forum gets Tons of responses compared to Dungeon Sub-Forum, which dev’s responses arepractically non-existant as long as it’s not laughing at something or posting screenshots.

Players either want a comment on every post or won’t be statisfied and I don’t want any arguments going ‘’if they just had one comment explaining’’, players will react negativly whatever Anet does.

They may as well be silent and let the players complain cause they complain anyhow.

Yeah, that’s been brought up many times in the past, including the latest CDI. Let’s hope they got the “right” message and do something about it in the near future. I myself set a limit for myself to one bank tab full of Ascended Rings (Infused only) and I’ve been selling them ever since, because that limit was fulfilled months before Fractured Release.

All we can do now is wait, since any kind of feedback directed towards fractals been collecting dust ever since the last CDI ended.

and u like it? selling them for only 4s?

Let me put it this way.

You’re thinking that instead of that ring you’d get a fractal weapon skin or an ascended box. That’s not the case.

In reality, the way it works, you either get a ring or you don’t get anything. It’s 4.95s you haven’t had before. I’ve seen people on several occasions get a fractal skin / ascended box and a ring in one shot, which makes it quite possible rings and skins/boxes have separate drop rates.

Now let’s be honest, would you rather have them decrease the rings drop rate, so you wouldn’t get anything at all?

It reminds me of Karma “issue” back in the day. People complaining that they have too much of it and don’t know what to do with it. Instead of just giving us a decent Karma sink, they nerfed the karma acquisition by 90% and then give us karma sink.

Only thing from complaining you getting something too much of will eventually end up with nerfing it to the point where you start complaining it’s not enough.

In the end you’re 4.95 silvers richer. And lower player have an ability of getting a ring they want easier.

You play the way you want – let others play the way they want.

I think it’s something along lines of:

The drop-rate was definitely significantly lowered. We used to do at least 1 skin every 2-3 lvl 48 runs per party, that’s not the case anymore. Although I don’t mind getting those Ascended Boxes. Even though Healing ones are kind of useless, at least they have Wup Wup stats in them.

To be honest, I don’t even remember the last time I got a skin to drop. It’s seriously something of a “wow-factor” to see one drop these days.
