The people I know in T3 seen to be enjoying it’s current state despite the fact that YB is winning coverage wars. The fights are plenty and guilds are happy with that. Also if a server get tired of T3 they can drop to T4 which seen to be competitive to the T3 servers (CD was competitive with SBI and SoS and is competitive to HoD and NSP atm), unlike when the kittenstomp match was on T4 and there was nowhere to drop.

Because a server full of bandwagoners always do when it reach it’s limit and can no longer win… It’s not new…

For us who been in the game for so long, ToK are useless, true. But the tomes are used in new accounts to level up now that WvW no longer award actual exp. In fact I’ve been using them a lot in this account.

I wish we could turn them unto somenthing else useable for people who no longer need to level up.

Well, there is a bunch of static rewards from the reward tracks… The ascended drops are rng, just like the ascended drops on PvE.

Condi Chrono is problably the king of 1v1. But nobody will want 1v1 you because it’s boring.

This whole discussion about duels and so many morally ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ things people should consider when in WvW just proves the point that duels shouldn’t happen in WvW map.

Suggestion like: “if you see people bow it’s duel” is useless if you run into 2 people already fighting.

It’s a battleground – red it’s hostile.

Sure there are ‘spots’ that are kinda known duel spots, but why should everyone playing WvW care about that and keep in mind and always have dilemma whether to jump in to some fight or not when passing those areas?

If you can’t respect another player’s way of playing wvw, why should they respect yours? Are they throwing themselves against empty tower gates and preventing you from using your rams?

Why should everyone care about flipping towers or keeps? Are they throwing themselves against empty tower gates and blocking your rams?

If it’s not affecting your game play, leave them be.

Since you put it this way, then if there’s someone not respecting someone then it’s duellers taking spots on map that is about flipping towers and keeps and generally making confusion among some players passing by. It’s affecting everyone’s gameplay on map, if we gonna go so far.

How so? They’re not flipping towers, they leave you to do that to your heart’s content. And you can no longer claim they’re taking up map space.

So praytell, how are they preventing you, personally, from playing how you like?

Also, they are keeping some people from flipping your precious objectives by keeping them entertained in duels. It’s a win/win situation and I don’t see why would anyone complain about it.

Actually I totally agree with you on catas. I was surprised when I logged in yesterday to see how fast/powerful they were, compared to even six months ago.

I think it’s a tiny bit unreasonable that three of us on two superior catas managed to get a T3 wall down to 20% in a couple of quick minutes.

Actually it’s the T3 walls that had their health reduced at some point (T2 and T1 remain the same). Catapults still do the same damage they did since the WvW ranks masteries were added.

It’s not about destroying the cata. Not everyone can stand under Superior AC fire manned by someone with full mastery. I normally get downs, and the people start running around in doubt if they should man the cata or help the downed person. Sometimes I even get kills out of it.
But whatever you say man… I just know I never lose walls with staircases to proxy catas unless I arived too late… /shrug

They barely hit that spot if you throw it right. Unless there are like 10+ staff eles, you are likely to be able to man the AC and kill the catas from that spot without even needing a shield generator. Walls with staircases are pretty much the only walls where you can place ACs because they are wide enough to Meteor Shower.

Well, I used to have issues about using GS5 and it going off toward some random critter or whatever because I had auto target on (the game would just pick a target since I had none selected). Other than that, I never had any other issue with GS5, or with GS3 going toward somewhere I didn’t point since it’s ground targetted.

So, I’m not really sure about what kind of problem you are having, but I don’t think it’s somenthing common.

I bought the Moth Wings Glider+Backpack skin recently, and I noticed that while the Glider skin is dyeable, the backpack skin is not. AND THEY SHARE THE SAME SKIN!

Why can’t we dye the backpacks that share skin with a dyeable glider? Why can’t we dye backpacks at all?

The Flame Ram God would be pleased, but they would need to remove siege disablers for that to work or it would be impossible to breach on anything.

Why you say there are 4 T3 servers when T4 is balanced and YB is stomping T3? I wouldn’t be surprised if SoS and SBI links are also competitive to the T4 servers since CD was competitive with them last week and is now competitive with T4.

The only odd server in there is YB, which is too strong for all the 5 servers below it. FA problably is a better fit for T3 (they been losing every T2 match by a large margin for a while), but we’ll only be able to be sure if YB ever make it to T2 (there is a currently a 180 rating difference between YB and FA)

Objectives only get contested if you aggro guards. People dueling by the sides of SMC normally don’t aggro guards unless they go really close to the wall to aggro the archers. But SMC is pretty much always contested anyway.

I’m pretty sure puck played other professions my friend. And while I may not entirely agree with him, I too belive some people here are making too much of a fuss since the only real place druids are effective is in really small scale.

When a server lose all it’s active WvW guilds, it dies. And DH pretty much lost all of them. PvX guilds that raid once in a blue moon do not count as they are not reliable. Call it innactive if you want but the truth is: It’s dead.

It’s popular because it’s a high trafic area, so other roamers are likely to pass and stop by if they see people dueling.

There’s no point ignoring the condi chrono in the room just because it’s broken. It still comes under condition builds and as you said, torment/confusion is low on the priority list of cleanses which makes it even deadlier.

Can’t say much for the warrior vs mes thing, to me Warrior has always excelled in condition cleanses even with just Cleansing Ire and Berserkers Stance.

What I mean when I exclude it from my opinion about condi builds is: I don’t mind condi builds these days except for the condi chrono which have a heavy application of the anti-play conditions. I’m not sure however how I would tone it down without making it completely useless compared to the other condi builds. I would at least revert the confusion change to it only tick when you use a skill. That passive tick on confusion is kittened and only needed in PvE.

And yeah, Cleasing Ire and Brawler’s Recovery along with resistance from Berserker Stance and Healing Signet (when it need to be used) make warrior very strong against most condition builds. And Longbow Burst activate both Cleasing Ire and Adrenal Health regardless if it hit a target or not. I also put some mango pies for extra regen flavor but I could go with condi or dmg reduction foods aswell.

Oh and don’t bother with the screenshot. I was wondering if you were trying to annoy me with it so I decided to “take the bait”. Seen it wasn’t the case.

There were a few individuals who hit Diamond Legend already like Dark Jean. Most players old players are problably around gold and platinum tho.

Viper mes has no “burst”… It’s just passives and shatters and stealth. It’s continued application or 10+ stacks of torment/confusion. I believe you’re an avid Mesmer player and would know this?

And that’s why every time I talk about condis not being all that bad as everyone claims I always keep the Condition Chronomancer out. It’s broken. But honestly, the big deal with mesmer is the fact that both of the condis they apply are counter play. If you act with confusion you die. If you run with torment you die. And both of them seen to be very low in the cleasing priority. In fact confusion seen to always be the last, except for bleed.

Yesterday I was testing how long it would take to a condi mesmer (no chrono) to kill my GS/LB core warrior. Honestly I just walked away after I saw that my food ran out. I don’t think he would be able to finish it. But since people rather complain about condis than building to fight them yeah, I supose that’s a good choice.

Well, if everyone decided to adapt we wouldn’t see all these cries about condis tbh… I see several solid power builds who can outlast condi bunkers. The boon spamming meta allow power builds to be much more effective than they were before. People that keep dying to condis are people who refuse to play a proper build to fight all kind of adversity they may find. They say they will “lose DPS” doing so. Well, dead people don’t do any DPS…

Most condition skills are applied with one button, a passive or it’s inbuilt into Auto Attack skills.
Most power builds rely on timing, setting up the burst or a combination of skills to perform correctly.

Condition applied by auto attacks normally are low duration to even be effective. It’s like auto attacking in a power build. And considering a full zerker Revenant for exemple can do 4k crits with a 1200 range auto attack, I don’t think they are weak compared a 4s bleed from necro scepter.

Unlike the popular beliefs, condi builds also have a “burst” and a “downtime” like power builds. If you think you can just equip full dire and go 1111111111 you’ll find yourself dying a lot.

ya as op as druid is made out to be (it is pretty amazing) I still see fair representation of all classes when in wvw. I find it hard to believe that many people are so proper about not rushing to pickup the next op thing. If druid was so op it just had to be nerfed hard trust me, there would be like a 5-1 ratio of them in wvw because that’s probably the ratio of people who have no shame when it comes to winning.

That’s because druids are only strong in small scale and most of the people are just here for the blobs and ppt.

The problem isn’t BG being full. Technically the other two servers in T1 are also full and I’m sure server capacities are the same (or at least they should be). However one side is full of fairweathers that are in for the win, and the other side full of fairweathers that don’t play because they are losing.

The problem here are all the fairweathers that bail the moment things get rough.

There’s a lot more conditions flying around since HoT, nearly every “meta” build since then has upped it’s cleansing in some way because of this.

I actually find more power boonspammer bunkers than condi builds since HoT came out except for mesmers and necros. Most HoT elites favor power builds more than condi (except the aforementioned two).

YB isn’t supposed to be in tier4, with the current linkings, they should be able to beat SBI and SOS in tier3 as well.
SBI and SOS are significantly weaker with the loss of HoD and NSP (especially noticable during non-primetime).

I am not sure if DH is the biggest loser of the linkings or if it are the small servers linked to big ones that feel like they have lost their identity and community (IoJ for example). I can’t speak for them though, because I am not on one of them, SBI is one of the biggest winners of the linkings imho.

I would have to agree that SBI is one of the biggest winners. We have gotten lucky all three times with great partners. And the linking was able to compete with the other servers around us making it fun. It has rejuvenated WvW for me, I am enjoying the game again.

Problem with the current linkings is the same problem with the last one. There are four T3 strength servers and two T4 strength ones. Whoever drops to T4 for the week is going to rolflstomp the other two.

Looking at MOS perhaps BP and Kain should have been not linked with higher tier servers. And instead one go to HoDEBayET and one go to NSPDHDR.

I think it’s too early to say there are 4 T3 servers. The matchup just begun… Let us see how CD will fare now that it isn’t the quadserver monstrosity.

I go round and round on waypoints in towers. On one side I agree that would significantly increase their value. But does that remove value from the keep and remove the amount of fighting found in the open fields since people can blink forward to next area.

Just because they can blink to the next area doesn’t mean they won’t be found in the open. After all, it’s not ABL. You cannot just set up a few trebs inside a tower and siege another objective from the safety of your walls. You are forced to be in the open if you are to advance in the map.

Sure, keep lose some of their value since the waypoints will no longer be exclusive. But what is harder to take? A tower or a keep? Even T3 towers flips in seconds to omniblobs if you cannot respond instantly to it. Keeps however do not. So, a Keep Waypoint still outvalue a Tower Waypoint merely for the fact it is likely to last longer.

Besides, you still need to get these towers to T3 to give them a waypoint, so there will be a lot of fighting over the camps in the open and assaults against the structures before they upgrade.

What if the the T3 towers added more roaming partols that had both a snare and the ability to detect/report like the sentries that extended the range of the tower detection by another 50-100% coverage? They could then act as bigger blocks to yaks, alert your side to enemy presence and slow but not stop enemy forces. That way the towers could then return to their role as a slow down to be bypassed, addressed or act as a hindrance if not assaulted. Thoughts?

This will be just another thing that will hinder small groups while not affecting a zerg. Have you ever fought a T3 gate guards + patrols while they have Iron Guards on a small group? It’s already bad enough as it is. Having MORE guards added will just add more of what everyone complains to be a nuissance in WvW: More “PvE”.

The towers already block yaks and can work as sentries anyway. They need another role, and I feel that roadblock isn’t a good one as it will always hurt more small groups while being completely bypassed by zerg. Also, making the roadblock big enough to annoy a zerg it will problably be nigh impossible for a small group to bypass (In the first DBL beta, the barricades were actually full walls that upgraded just as the tower walls. You can still see them on the map.)

I think you hit it here. There were posts during the design of this map asking that the towers be more of a roadblock since on ABL you could just ignore them and go right around. They were good for placing siege in, but they didn’t block an approach. That’s where the barricades came in. Now you could still bypass, but at a price of having to go much further around. But once those barricades were removed from the DBL towers to allow people quicker movement it now removed the tower’s role as a road block.

The problem with barricades is that they were completely worthless in barring zergs as they would just melt in seconds while making harder to small groups to go around because they would take forever to go down by just attacking them. And they would only take 10 supplies to be repaired to full (so if there was an enemy player behind it you could forget going throught for a while since he would problably be able to repair once, maybe twice).

We don’t need more stuff delaying small group play. It’s already almost impossible to take a upgraded structure that have ONE player defending with a small group. Thus why we asked the barricades to go.

I’m all in favor of adding a WP to all the towers in DBL as T3 upgrade (like it is on keeps). It give them some strategic value and is a much better concept than the treb wars concept we have in ABL and EBG.

Because conditions start being relevant in smaller scale and everyone around here hate conditions because they don’t want to be forced to run condi cleanses since it affect their dps.
