Leaderboards for PvE is terrible idea in general.
New builds just don’t run as much AoE condi removal fest as previous used to, c(l)ockblocking every pure condition build. Everything shifted to evade/block/CC spam.
No wonder Condition builds hurt more.
Bumping this up, since it’s probably one of two threads on this forum this month which are worth reading.
So you’re Reaper having problems with Revenant?
Ok…
It’s single target.
I’m word no have.
I aim for 50% boon duration in order to reach 100% with FoN up. You can achieve that by using Crusader’s/Minstrel’s armor pieces/weapons or things like Platinum Doubloons. Alternatively, you can just go for 40% and use Bountiful Sharpening Stone.
The reason behind stacking boon duration is amount of Protection and Regeneration + other boons you will be stacking on teammates.
Then you check your tank’s toughness and adjust your gear. Keep in mind that because we have an amazing design, portion of our healing power gets converted to Toughness which can screw up tanking and cause overaggro.
Ventari works nicely on Sabetha. Rest of the fights in this wing, Druid has upper hand.
Is Carrion a good alternative to Viper for the Mallyx/Shiro build?
Not really imo as your other weapon set will pretty much be useless since pretty much everything else is power-based.
It won’t be if you take Invocation over Retribution. Slightly different gameplay.
It doesn’t work and it’s in this state since BWE3. Reported multiple times.
Wait wait wait, so a Rev is having a problem with diamond skin? Finally diamond skin will get a change/nerf.
Can’t let Rev get shown up by something.
Sword AA with quickness / UA . It will bring them below 90%. Then you unload condition burst. Assuming it’s Viper build.

Sadly, from what I’ve seen, it does.

What worked in Fractals and Dungeons works in Raids for Revenant. Nothing has changed, you may only change trait or two if needed. Full Zerk.
As it stands, Druid is the best choice. Easy, efficient, has unique buffs given to it so nobody can replace it. It also covers the “sustain” territory if needed that was said to be Ventari’s playground, doesn’t have to deal with as many choices, management during the fight, doesn’t need to pay as much attention to rotations and all the healing modifier conditions, positioning…
I like that every encounter is somehow explained on trash before. The amount of trash is also okay – it’s purpose isn’t really to just slow you down, but more likely to give you warm up and some basic understanding of mechanics.
I think there should be a little bit more pressure on healing and tanking and less on just burning through.
^ I requested Minstrel’s stats being changed to either Power, Healing and lesser Vit + Boon Duration or Power, Healing and lesser Toughness + Boon Duration for both PvE and PvP. In PvE that new stat combination sees no use whatsoever because it lacks Power or Condition Damage, for PvP current combination is too cheesy. Just change it.
On topic: I agree on those. With new Amulets around, we could see more builds that aren’t Celestial.
(edited by Rym.1469)
^ We are not discussing Herald here, son. Go cry somewhere else.
On topic: Embrace The Darkness (Mallyx Elite) functions like miasma/environmental effects – it doesn’t strike you with any damaging hit that further applies condition, it just simply pulses condition in an area.
Since there’s nothing to block or evade, you’re just basically standing in “poisoned area” while close to Rev upkeeping EtD.
Not like this Elite is that worth of upkeep most of the time – it’s used to trigger Diabolic Inferno trait. Because of above fact, it has it’s very own niche against Revenants, Dragonhunters etc. which rely on active defenses.
They could maybe give it Unblockable skill fact, since it might not be obvious to some people, but I can’t see a reason for changing it. At the end of the day, it just pulses single stack of Torment for a hefty cost.

I would love Ritualist-like E-spec as the next one.
Bumping because it needs to be discussed.
From myself, I’d like every profession to have it’s own niche when it comes to supporting/healing. Warrior being able to “heal” defeated bodies with Shouts maybe? Guardian excelling with damage prevention rather than healing being able to place something akin to GW1 Wards? Elementalist bringing best condition removal? There are a lot of things that could be done to make support option on each of the professions feel special and wanted.
Possible, but you have to be good at timing, keep an eye on your Energy, pay a lot of attention to the Tablet, make sure your healing modifiers work (you can lose up to 65% outgoing healing increase if you screw up), spread regen around….
In general, there’s ton of stuff you have to pay attention to if you want to utilize it correctly and ultimately, Druid not only achieves that healing easier and more reliably, but also brings unique damage modifiers.
As Shadelang said, currently there are problems with identities of various healers/supports. At this point, basically everyone asks for a Druid.

Can two on swap sigil trigger at the same time like that Doom/Geomancy set?
In that build for Condition Mallyx there are on swap sigil on every weapon. Will it really work?
What about when one use the same sigil on each weapon set like in Celestial Mallyx? I thought Sigil of Energy would be sharing an internal cool down of 9 sec. and therefore would not be possible to trigger twice as often in the way Celestial Mallyx is expecting to make use of that sigil.
There is also some strange combination of Corruption lines Resistance (to get more damage pr condition) and at the same make use of condition cleanse on legend swap from Invocation (it is suggested as a variant to Retribution in Celestial).
I’m currently using Doom/Geo on S/Sh and Geo+Energy with Aristocracy runes in Celestial Mallyx since everyone runs with perma protection. You don’t always swap on cooldown. Mind you, both weapon swap and legend swap procs Geomancy and Energy.
I haven’t really updated my Cele build on that site for a long time, so some things may be little outdated. As for Invocation cleanse, there are so many conditions with Reapers around that 1 less doesn’t make a difference.
Pretty much every single PvP build uses Herald traitline and Shield as they’re incredibly vital, even if not Glint Legend herself.
Depends on your role and playstyle. You can be tough teamfight brusier with Celestial’s Mallyx or rather mobile assasin-like condition build with Viper’s.
It’s easy to shut down. You just won’t do that rolling 2 bunker druids and 2 bunker tempests + sending Power Rev against it which has extremaly bad matchup with anything Mallyx.
Condition Revenant can’t do anything against old non-Reaper Cele Necromancer due to Path of Corruption for example. It just dies.
Torment is strong, but while you apply it, you’re vulnerable at the same time. And Condition Revenant takes much more skill than Power Revenant.
If anything, I say it again – look at Rune of Durability. There lies the problem.
As for design itself – I still hope for overhaul, because while this Legend might output a lot of AoE Torment, it lacks depth compared to BWE2 version.
(edited by Rym.1469)
When talking about Glint/Ventari, keep in mind that any good Revenant has to rotate Legends. You won’t be camping Ventari, most likely, because you want to spread offensive boons + extremaly potent beefed Regeneration and Protection. You also want to maintain Invoking Harmony buff (20% healing increase for 10s after swapping Legends) and probably Shrouding Mists (25% more healing if above 51 Energy). And quite possibly keep yourself above 75% hp if you choose trait that increases healing by 20% in that state. Then you have weapon skills – Shield heal, Staff #4, Staff auto.
But I believe that since we’re talking about the future, a lot about Revenant and Herald will be changing. Some changes might be huge and I expect such changes for Ventari and Salvation traitline. There may be new gearsets. Anything with Healing + Boon Duration is incredibly potent on Ventari Herald. If such stat combo would be released not accompanied by Toughness, expect Revenant to stand tall. Even now, when you push it, you can achieve 900+ Regeneration ticks with all the outgoing healing increases and that’s just simple Regen.
Hey guys,
Are there any video guides for basic/advanced healing in raids as Druid? Or is anyone here considering creating one?
I’m asking because one of my guildies who wants to try it doesn’t really know where to start and myself, while I feel confident as Druid/Ranger in PvP, haven’t experienced raiding with healing on Druid specifically yet, so not sure if I’d give right advices.
I know there are POV videos, but they explain or teach little in general about build performance.
Cheers,
Rym
OE Reaper > Nos Reaper
Pretty **** efamous, too.
So this viper shiro/mallyx rev build, is it really all that great? I havent been able to watch the matches yet, but it sounds glassy as kitten, though a hyper offensive condi hybrid is something this game has needed for years, instead of runniny cele hybrids that wind up being more defensive than anything else.
It’s good, but you have to understand it and play well, as with most Mallyx setups. You have way less butt-saving defensives than Power Shiro/Glint and Energy matters more.
The good things about Condition Revenant is that it’s quite mobile and especially with boon duration runes (Durability which also have good passive proc for teamfights), Resistance uptime can get really high, nullifying Reapers. The more people you have around to PA from, the more powerful against conditions it gets. It also brings Resistance for teammates and disabling conditions entirely for short period is awesome (no blinds, chills, immobs etc.).
It also brings powerful PvP conditions – fast-stacking AoE Torment, Poison, a lot of Confusion. These shutdown Power Revenants in no time – Mallyx Rev is perfect counter to Power Rev.
It can be vulnerable to CC shutdowns and I consider it well-balanced. Has both clear strenghts and weaknesss.
As a bonus, there are various cool plays with some skills and combos – Resistance on downed body disables Poison, can let you safestomp Necromancers 1v1 and avoid downed Slow from Revenants, you can increase duration of Resistance/Protection with Facet of Nature. Haven’t seen many of these plays from top players in tournament yet, room for improvement.
In general, it plays like more squishier, mobile and aggressive version of Celestial Mallyx. A lot of fun and more depth than Power Rev.

Minstrel’s gear tends to be even more expensive than Zealot’s, has less healing and more toughness than Cleric’s, you barely make use of that Boon duration as Druid and has no offensive stats whatsoever. This gear was meant to be most likely for boon-heavy supports like Revenant, Tempest since they get best value off that Boon Duration.
But since it has Toughness instead of Power, it’s rather poor choice for anyone.
I think that next wings will be even better, harder and diversified.
My only problem with raiding in the first wing yet is that it should demand more from “tanks” and healers, bringing higher pressure instead of racing with the timer.
Gain 2s Resistance upon executing Leap or Blast Finisher in a Combo Field. (5s ICD).
Keep the current one and add harder version.
I’d say just go for a bit of mixed, I personally did what I could best and turned out fine, using 2 different foods along with superior sharpening stone, 1 food is dedicated for tough/prec, other for power/prec, stays roughly at 2,7k-3k armor. Unless you really want an all out tank?
well it’s not exactly NEEDED. Just be the guys with the most thoughness and then stack DPS. I feel like shiro mobility in tanky suit is the best, just dodge all around while autoattacking, sw/sh + staff for extra blocks/heals.
I’m also thinking about a Cleric’s tank and be both the tank and the healer in the group to free up a dps spot.
I don’t think Rev has the needed tools to be tank healer since I think best for this is still glint Shiro sword with protection regen and boon duration during glint phase and dodge/cc spam during Shiro phase(quickness if in a burn phase). That would be a good mitigation tank spec.
If you try to work Ventari in there you end up with 50% of the time taking a lot of damage and healing yourself instead of others, which is a bad thing.
Hope there will be one, I didn’t even count Jalis and don’t know how to work him in…
Avoid upkeeping Facet of Light if you’re DPS. It cancels better Regeneration from Druids, Tempests and support revs especially.
Mallyx Revenant if Reaper isn’t careful with corrupts. This becomes dominance if there’s any allied NPC/minion/player near Revenant, as they give him even longer Resistance.
(edited by Rym.1469)
Herald is pretty balanced. Revenant is not.
The other way.
But really, what’s this debate? I see that you’ve posted some screenshots of damage done. Big numbers, pretty easy to achieve with hammer, I can get higher numbers with Guardian for example. Nevertheless, cool.
However, if you expect me to judge profession based on some damage done in a PvP match, it just makes me laugh and cry at the same time.

Could we please get Power instead of Toughness on Minstrel’s (Toughness, Healing, Vit, Boon Duration) gear? Or get another stat combo like this?
It would really help Support Revenant & Elementalist & Guardian, since this gear without any offensive stat is pretty much useless for raiding. Toughness gain from it makes you also a tank, so even though that Healing Power + Boon Duration would be amazing and maybe enable other supports to compete with Druid, you can’t really run it.
With Power, Healing Power, Vitality and Boon Duration combo you could also bring back this stat combo in form of Amulet back to PvP.
If you face a wall, you don’t slam your head into it hoping it will collapse. You stop and think how to overcome it. Then you do it. If you can’t, the wall is still there for you.
This is raiding.
yep … because of this type of guy we got nerfed x) incredible
dude just lemme tell u something , if u die against a druid support dat goes condi with sword/torch , u’r just a very bad player , this spec is not meant to kill , it’s meant to assistAre these 3 guys imbeciles by any chance and unaware of concepts like CC, because if not, 3 players > 1 druid.
There are 2 druid build that are god mode 1 on 1 and 1 vs many. Why are you not familiar with it? Well those ppl wont give you their builds ( I know I wont) couse it would be nerfhammered
DH is easy to counter : put some condi pressure and he’s down.
cele reaper
cele scrapper
cele tempest
???
counter DH easily.Go fight a good DH and let me know how that goes, even condition pressure, which is the most viable option, is still difficult to deal with.
-they still have a decent condi clear that heals them a fair amount for being marauder, that’s not even counting blocks. A guardian’s usual weakness is that they’re slow, but that is migitated with the longbow and it’s many features including an unblockable shot at 1200 range that does 4-6k with only a 4 second cd. They will kill you before your conditions even make an impact.
-Dragonhunter rewards passive play way too much, I’m alright with setting traps to do damage and stuff that’s cool, but it’s entirely too faceroll. I gave the meta build to my friend who doesn’t even really pvp and she was destroying people in team matches multiple times. It shows just how easy to pick up it is, which wouldn’t be a bad thing if it wasn’t an apex predator.
true shot is not unblockable and has never been unblockable.
deflecting shot is the unblockable one and that’s on a 10 sec cooldown and has an awkward ground target function.
Uh…check patch notes maybe.
I healed Vale Guardian as Ventari Rev both in BWE3 and now in live. Conclusion is the same. Ventari Rev has excellent sustained healing, and can constantly pump out enough to keep everyone alive — until something goes wrong. Rev has no burst healing and cannot correct for a mistake. If you fall behind, you’ve got a struggle ahead of you. Druid has burst healing in spades, allowing a raid to recover from a spike, plus enough regular healing that it renders Ventari Rev second-rate. If there is ever a call for two healing-oriented characters in a fight, Rev could play second fiddle, but that’s not likely to happen.
Ventari Rev has sustained healing but no recovery. Druid has both. I shelved the Rev and play a different role.
I currently have a thread in the ranger forums working to have druid further commited to its burst here role so it stops pushing aside sustained healers. The idea should be that they work together. Not be mutally exclusive.
Problem with current raid design is, you can hardly even spare 1 spot for healer. There’s simply too much DPS required and too little sustained raid-wide pressure to justify bringing another healer. So one has to cover is and probably tank/dps, too.
+1.
I’ve been talking about the differences in healing in various places and this post basically describes my opinion on it.
Eh, the two problems with Ventari Revenant vs. Druid is that the second one heals AND bring unique damage modifiers for the whole group, which isn’t the case of Ventari Revenant.
As for the second reason, I would really, really, really, really love if new Minstrel’s gear did not have that stupid Toughness stat and had Power or even Condition damage instead. Herald is potentially the best candidate for this set as we benefit greatly from boon duration and we could be way more useful, but…
Minstrel’s gear has no offensive stat. Which means it’s useless in raids. kittening useless. And that Toughness makes us overaggro the boss.
So we wear Zealot’s gear. And in Zealot’s gear, Druid is more useful.
I reccomend trying Commanders Stat gear if your going purely for the buffing aspect. My ranger runs a self might build using it and I can promise the investment is worth it for boon duration. It won’t be a healing build obviously. But it will be a very good offensive support build.
I know about Commander’s stat and might try it someday, but that change to Minstrel’s or addition of new stat would make healing Revenant a very good pick, mostly for that Protection and beefed Regeneration uptime Druid can’t compete with.
The moment you gain Resistance, all condition effects are instantly disabled.
But you aren’t talking about how does this boon work, you brought up discussion on how do the passive procs work on rune example.
Answering OP:
Scenario A.

I’d like to queue at least from the Guild Hall.
Actually, I think they made a Druid pretty much the Holy Priest of GW2. And it’s worse in here, because there’s no place for 2nd healing spot.
Since Druid not only brings good healing, but also a lot of unique damage modifiers, other healing supports can’t compete. Be it Ventari Revenant, Tempest healer or anything else, you just can’t bring that damage increase to rest of the group.
It’s not even that Druid outheals other professions, because on such stationary targets it does not.
While there are many options for players holding aggro, there seems to be only one healer everyone wants. And that is bad.
I can’t see the reasoning behind adding trait to Corruption which takes yet another spot that could’ve been interesting trait instead. And even if we did get that Torment trait, there are other professions which deal a lot of their damage with that condition – Mesmers, Necromancers and minor in others.
Split of Torment and Confusion between PvE and the rest of the game – sorry, but it needs to happen. Even HoT mobs don’t strike with such frequency that would make Confusion better than having bleeds or overpowered burns (which should’ve been more rare/reduced on some professions like engi in order to make any other condi dealer sorth it), same goes for Torment.
Condition Reaper with Rise shout is an absolute beast when it comes to (face)tanking the Vale Guardian at least and worked for me.
You don’t even need any bonus heals, tbh. Your healing people in raid can completly ignore you, since in rabid/viper’s gear I was pretty much unkillable on my own.
And yet you still do good damage for a tanky guy and bring boon corrupts/breakbar annihilating abilities.
That’s pretty much an obvious kick, though. Dire Necro does more DPS than Viper Revenant in PvE.
Ayyy lmao…
