Just imagine how much more qq you’ll see with these unbalanced maps. With the balance of 3 identical maps as it is, people will complain even more of unbalance (zerg, spawn camping, better map startign position etc etc). I haven’t seen anyone complain too much what side they are on in EB, but I can bet all hell will be let loose when all 4 maps are different from each other in a advantage/disadvantage way.

Games today rely on balance too much. Give the team without the terrain advantage more buffs and better access to siege weapons.
That would be impossible to “balance”. 3 identical maps solve all these problems.

But the new game starts once a week, so whichever borderland is more advantageous (there will be one, trust me, just like how EB favors different colours for different things) will have an advantage the whole matchup.

They are called borderlands, something like a base for each server. In each borderland there is an Orb that gives a buff to whichever side owns it. Then there’s Eternal Battlegrounds.

You realize that it isn’t possible to “work together” because they have guild members sitting on our server reading our map chat and stategies and conveying it to them over voice chat?
As is said in that RUIN video, even if we went and capped every single point on all 4 maps until WvW ended there is no way we could overtake their score..
This is what is going to kill Guild wars 2 if it isn’t rectified….. mark my words.
You had 4 days to work together. There’s no one to blame really.

Yes, another one of 5 million similar threads about this. There’s nothing that CAN be done cos ET is 4th, thus going against 5th and 6th place servers. Also WvW was never meant for “balance”. How about working together to take down ET, you know.

Cos…Karma gear is not meant to be the best there is? They do have stat combinations that are impossible to craft though.
Who said it should be the best? Its about having access to a specific stat that alot of builds need. If you level in WvW you have only access to one type of gear, in PvE you get gear for every build.
I need berserker gear and NO karma gear in the whole of GW2 sells them for Karma. How about that

Thanks for seeing the bigger picture Xonal.
In order to fix the “fully” upgraded forts problem, perhaps it would be best to make forts / towers harder to capture… and longer / more expensive to upgrade. Also, having some kind of lock mechanic might not be a bad idea. Once a fort is captured by a server, it could be locked and impossible to re-capture for 30 minutes or so.. while towers could be locked for 15 minutes.. to at least give a chance for the capturing server to set up defensive siege equipment ect.. and let the fight move to a different location.
It already has like a 5 minute lock currently. You don’t need 15 minutes to build siege equipment >.<

Anyone here us any of Logitech’s “G” gaming keyboards? Currently using the G110 but I noticed that binding 6-10 on my G keys, it doesn’t do anything in-game. I’ve set it up in SetPoint but nothing happens in-game when I press the keys. It’s frustrating cos moving your fingers to the 6-10 position while in WvW is realllyyy messy and clunky.
Anyone have a workaround? I can’t believe that such popular accessories such as Logitech G keyboards are unsupported in GW2. The games seem to only recognize ONLY the main 1-0 keys and don’t recognize any other macro keys even if binded to the appropriate G key. This saddens me ): Setpoint is fully updated.

If you’re in any of the top 4 servers, you probably ARE facing the world
All 4 have very good NA presence, and very decent “night” presence as well with Oceanics and Asian players playing during their own prime time.

That’s still pretty close compared to the second bracket. I mean, ET has something like a 150k lead on the other two servers.
Unfortunately, there are 4 competitive servers, meaning 1 of the 4 would always be in the second bracket and if the 2 others in that bracket don’t work together or up their game, it’s gonna be the same story as it is now >.< Free transfers should have stopped 2 weeks ago… This way servers wouldn’t bleed their WvW population and the already full servers get up to bursting numbers.

Just got out of SBI BL and saw plenty of JQ not attacking/stacking with SBI to defend supply camps…. and I saw HoD doing the same with JQ to hit SBI… and HoD killing both and etc etc etc…. Yall need to realise that sometimes these “truces” or “alliances” arent intentional, just people are focused on other stuff and dont see or tunnel vision thier targets.
exactly, why would i want to attack an enemy thats attacking my enemy? Leave them engaged, I will use this to my advantage and take land from them both while they’re occupied!

I don’t think any updates to the ranks will be done until the current matchup is over. That being said, I think the last 1-2 matches in the 24-hour resets have not been updated as well.

Unfortunately, unlike GW1 GW2 has no official “Alliance” feature, so for this to work ANet has to totally revamp the guild system. Otherwise, a AvAvA game mode will have to be entered manually by every guild in the alliance to ANet, and that is a whole lot of paperwork to go through.
Most people are already in guilds anyway, so I’m not sure how this will eliminate any of the cons of the current WvW. As it is, there’s only 3-4 Alliances that I know of. TA, AA, JL and SA, so basically the same thing as the Top 4 servers are facing now >.<

I agree 10,000% with this post. I strongly disagree with the idea that Anet supports any sort of “double teaming.” Double teaming not only kills excitement for the “underdog” but also makes it uninteresting for the two more dominant teams as after the pie is split up…there really is nothing more to do.
I would love Anet to address this as I love—LOVE w3 and hate to see it in this state.
There’s no possible way ANet can enforce anything like this.

I do dodge, plenty. I try to get out of AoEs. But there are just so many snares and so many red circles, its tough.
Don’t try to defend zerging. I think it is a large design flaw because it supports a system based around numbers rather than skill, quantity over quality. I think this should never happen in any video game.
Personally the coins drop vary rarely for me, especailyl when running in zergs. I may get 2-6 in an hour. I was thinking about saving up for the armor, but im thinking of giving up on that.
Then you must not have heard how we defended a keep with 10 against 50 with the gates down. I don’t even remember what match it was anymore.

Why not just fix it on a population level if a server has outmanned then points will not tick this removes the incentive to wait to play till an enemy server goes to sleep and points only accrue when a server actually can defend itself. They can still cap and take the whole zone but no points till forces are equalized. Or very slow points gain.
Cos that would still mean people who bought the game and rolled on a specific server will have their efforts diminished. People want to matter, going this route is the opposite.

They are all crammed on 2-3 servers. Which is dumb. Of them. They get unbalanced matches all the time as a result of this. They “win” but they have nothing to do.
If you were going against any of the top 4 servers, “they have nothing to do” would be completely false.

Well, according to a dev post, there’s an ‘exploit’ allowing people to basically cut in line for WVW queues, and it’s been sort of suggested that HoD may of figured out what that was and been using it.
In truth, though both JQ and SBI have the capability to bring HoD down if they were more organized, I know this is something ‘everyone’ keeps saying but it’s the truth. If you don’t like it and aren’t willing to do that then you probably shouldn’t be joining in WvW right now if you want to be winning. Whether JQ/SBI work together or individually to bring HoD down is irrelevant but we need to do one of the two with a focus there for the time being.
According to a dev post, ques are random and not an exploit. They will fix it so it’s a FIFO but as it is it’s broken.

If only. 2 full guilds have just transferred from Kaineng and Borlis Pass to HoD, so the “this server is full” is just rubbish and doesn’t work >.<

It would be reallly hard for any leaders in WvW to make any kind of informed decision cos the potential points for each capture keep changing, and there’s no way to see what’s worth how much until actually capturing it. Kinda makes the game into a huge guesswork.

I like idea B most out of the 3 (2?) that you gave. I’d actually rather see the “Outmanned” buff spawn some NPCs that that follow commanders and act like players that help hit on doors and smack other NPCs or actually give a buff that’s useful (a PvE buff, really? -_-)

How do you intend ANet “fix it”? By limiting how many points each side can capture? What if 1 side is so overwhelming powerful they can sweep TWO servers and own everything? Will they be limited to owning 1/3 (or more cos equal capture points would end in equal results) of all maps? Rather than complain about it, I suggest giving ANet some ideas of how to fix it.
It is hard to post suggestions on how to fix human nature. As a representative of the number one server in the game i would have hoped you might have said “we never do this and find it intolerable” or something like that. However what we get is preaching from the number one server and i would assume a large alliance that probabally does this as well.
As i said a fix for human nature (which by the way is to win / succeed) is hard, my point was that almost all people complain that a 2 sided fight is boring and would destroy WvW. However that is exactly what they are doing is creating a 2 sided fight with lopsided teams and guess what the outmanned buff does’nt come into play because the “teams” are even. I can speak to my PvP experiance which goes back to shadowbane and i have never seen a PVPer who wanted a fair fight. They want advantage wether it be numbers, build, equipmet whatever. since supposedly build and equipment are minor influences i guess the solution would be numbers. since there appear to be a great number of server alliances my suggestion would be WvW 2 servers, thats what is happening now so give them what they want 2 sided battles.Lets see that solves numbers, equipment and builds……..cool beans
And yes as a pvper i seek to gain any advantage i can, however i dont have to play two of the three positions to win.
Sorry I did not know I appeared as such to you. However, I can say for a fact that TA has not “allied” with any opposing server to take down any one opponent server. I just want them to stop free transfers to “FULL” (lol) servers..
However, 2v1 is kinda why WvW is a 3-sided game. Any one server can just decide to not attack another server and gang up on one opponent, and the other side seeing this might not attack back as well. Not planned in any way, but it happens. I don’t hit you cos you’re not hitting me. When there’s no one left to hit, I might start hitting you. I guess this is my way of seeing it lol xD

I’ve just started reading the forums, but there are so many threads with so many random ideas I didn’t bother reading too many of them. Most I’ve read has been point scaling according to how many opponents they are facing (I believe this to be the “most fair” out of the lot) to universally lowering point gain by set percentages throughout WvW during all night hours. What would be your best favoured idea to fix it? I’ll try to comment from a player playing from the SEA region

Also how is that “barely” winning? You also have to remember that many servers including HoD had TWO matchups going on at once. That is why ANet threw all data up to 1st September cos nothing was accurate.

I’d suggest you give ideas instead of just saying “fix it”. Also, if you were gonna compare NA prime-time and NA nights, HoD would have lost I think ,1-2? of their matchups if scorings ended when Americans went to sleep. They’d still be top

Only once during the HoD vs ET vs JQ match did HoD even come close to losing a match, and almost every other matchup has been HoD = Server 2 + Server 3’s score. Look it up
And also September was when bugged scores were sorted, unless you want to believe the 300k scores (impossible, 750 scores every 5 minutes for 24 hours gives you 216k MAXIMUM assuming you had all points at all times for 24 hours without fail).

Rofl, don’t confuse server outnumbering and arena.nets failure to queue a balanced portion of players for each server SKILL. Cause its not. In fact I hope and I really hope they make Mists like overflow and place server names next to people so you can see how bad majority of WvWvW players really are. HoD wins cause its 24/7 Queue times for WvWvW. Every other server has time periods where you can instant queue into WvWvW nuff said. Carried by population.
Then I think you’d like to know that HoD has lead the scores for a huge majority of the time even on NA prime-time. And EVERY server that has gone against HoD has had a que during NA prime-time, so no. HoD EXTENDS their lead during night, but they have always been ahead on most times except during the ET and JQ match where both teamed up and really swept us away >.< Part of the game, we dealt with it and ended up winning (there were ques throughout the night for all 3 servers so your claim that HoD is carried by population is crazy).
Also, HoD has been winning since early access, when the majority of players didn’t even know where TA rolled, so even more proof that we’re not carried by a huge population. If anything, you can say we’re being let down by our population although I must say the HoD militia can be seriously good
For example. Your “titan alliance” could leave and join Kaineng and you wouldnt even be noticed to other servers. HoD would still get first place. An things would go on like normal. Population wins matches currently not skill.
I wouldn’t doubt it. But HoD is more than the militia, and more than TA. It is TA working with the militia that has proven to be a huge boon to us. NSP when they had AA had crazy ques as well, I don’t see you claiming they were carried by their population. If anything, NSP had even worse ques when AA was there.

You make it sound like OH HIRE SOME AUSSIES mind you our server is FULL < and its not like a ton of Aussies will magically want to join us nor can they. They didn’t say they are happy with night capping which is why they extended the tick but it didn’t work nor will it work at all. US/EU player base is the majority and if the majority is upset they will do something.
Plus I would like less AU/SEA lagers all over the place in a US server.

“Deal with it” is a very non-competitive thing to say. It is truely sad that some people would rather win vs a empty keep then earning it. I guess people paid 59.99$ for a fantasy of being good at PvP because they do not like the reality…
You think HoD wins during nights with no competition? LOL. We just have “better/more” night players than many other servers. And no, you DO have to deal with it, cos this has been a possibility that Asian/Oceanic players will play during THEIR night time, you had ages to start something for your server and you didn’t. I would suggest pitching ideas like Blackgate has been doing. I respect them cos they are fixing their own problems themselves.

I’d transfer DOWN if I were on a winning server with hour long queue times. We actually started on a lower pop server to make sure we didn’t have the problem.
TA did the same thing until ANet decided to keep free transfers way longer than anyone expected, especially it being still available when 1 week matchups started.

Nobody has said 15 min points had anything to do with night capping. Your night is my morning and my morning is your night. ANet has said time and again they are happy with night capping. Recruit Asian/Oceanic players, do your part

Stormbluff Isle has easily earned recognition from multiple guilds and players on HoD. They have a very scary force in War Machine (WM), EviL, and SiN. Underestimating them is not a good idea.
This is the truth. Theyve done better than ET and JQ in recent days. Theyve improved a lot. and war machine is a beast at night.
ET lost by 1.2k points after HoD was gangbangged from both sides and trailing by 6k points. I’m not bitter, but just correcting the facts you seem to believe in
I will admit that ET has been slacking the past couple of days. However, ET does belong in the top 3 as of right now we are destroying BG and SoS. We literally have the entire WvWvW maps owned within the first hour. (Not sure how it looks right now though, I’m in bed) However, I think we will come back in full force once the 1 week battles start. Like I said, we have a VERY strong day time force, even better then HoD I think because we come out ahead of HoD and the third server. It isn’t until night time that we fall behind because of our fail night time force.I’ve only seen one match-up where ET was ahead of HoD. The result was that ET still lost.

I’m not saying ET isn’t competition. There are always good fights when ET is on the field against HoD.
We lost that match by 100 points, maybe even less. Since then ET has been slacking off for whatever reason, I don’t know. I fully admit we have been sucking the past couple days. My only guess is that AA/TL are bored with the 24/hr matches.. We shall see how things go this next week.
I think if any server can knock of HoD, it’s ET. No offence to the other servers.
