Wonder if HoD will QQ about us having an alliance with ET? Doubt it… In fact, i guarantee it.
(I also dont expect the points to look quite this good when i log on in the morning lol)

I would say no, cos the size was made to be perfect for 150 a side. Any bigger and they really have to tune A LOT of things, it’s not as simple as adding 50% more players = 50% bigger map too.

Not sure about Thiefs, but for Ranger Rapid Fires, the damage that the Ranger sees is the culmulative damage of every hit of the skill, but not sure how it appears on the receiving player’s logs. Rapid Fire can hit for 10k+ if well geared, but that’s like 8 different shots combined.

Not that I care but for the same reason they’re entitled to less in other games, the servers are labeled as “American” for time zones.
They’re labelled North America, not “American” and this not only USA. NA is more than just USA.

it’s all in the title. frankly, i’m tired of people creating these “temporary solutions” to solve “night capping”. i understand you’re upset and you have to whinge about it on the forums but please, the world does not revolve around you or your country.
1. these “solutions” i have seen include limiting points, players and even to stop WvWvW altogether during those times. now lets reverse these scenarios. You are the “off peak” people. and lets presume the idea of stopping WvW during your time was accepted and implemented, i don’t think you’d have a very good time.
2. ArenaNet didn’t make an ELO bracket to allow servers to stroke their kittens and declare their superiority. the brackets were to let servers fight each other on equal terms and/or skill level. its 27~ days since release. you guys have to chill out.
3. servers with a diverse playerbase will be matched with another server with a diverse playerbase. servers which don’t will be matched with servers which don’t aswell.
4. and finally a very specific example of the infamous 2nd bracket (IoJ,SoS,ET). the skill level of the 4 top servers is evidently seen by the 200~ELO difference between 4th and 5th. now WvW is unfortunately a 3 way fight. 4th place will always fight 5th and 6th.
It’s a harsh reality but is there really any other option? we can’t just simply disable WvW from a server for a/2 weeks. that’s unfair like the above posts.i have said all i can. this post is only to promote intelligent discussion and is not meant to offend anyone in any way. If any of what i have said has offended you, then i am sorry.
The problem is just that there isn’t an even distribution of Oceanic players across all the servers; they’re just concentrated on a few. Which is understandable, given that they probably actually want to see people when they play. However, it is what is causing this point disparity issue. The best solution seems to be adding an Oceanic group of servers, as that wouldn’t infringe upon Oceanic players’ ability to play, but I’m not sure if ANet intends to do so.
I blame continuous free transfers with no limit or cooldown. 24 hour cooldown is not enough and frankly too late.

to sum it up, AA transfered there and RUIN followed them. So unlike a server like HoD, they haven’t been there winning from day1. They started on Northern Shiverpeaks first. So they had to play catch up. They also probably don’t have as big of an issue in getting all their members into WvW which makes them stronger. Titan does excellent during offpeak hours, but during peak hours, there are so many pugs flooding the queue, they can’t really get much in and be able to do much. So the server suffers during primetime hours. the organization and force just isn’t really there during that time. I don’t think ET has to deal with that problem much. However queues have been getting better recently. they arent 5+ hours like before, now some borderlands are instant most of the day and eb is like an hour or so.
The fact that ET is a medium pop server is a double edged sword. You’re right in that the WvW guilds have an easier time getting their members in, however that’s an advantage only during NA peak hours. When the guilds go to sleep, ET doesn’t have the “strong PUG population” that HoD has to cover the off hours.
What’s the point of an alliance if they can’t get better coverage?

It takes a lot of skill taking on Doors and winning. And it’s great that the needs of a few off-peak players and randoms from around the world are setting the skilled servers apart from the crap servers. Pvp skill is all in how many real players you avoid when you play.
Try transferring to any of the Top 4 servers and see for yourself if there are " a few off-peak players".

Oh now stop. JQ has to hold two fronts on EB while I saw almost no crosses between the HoD and SBI side. Both your forces are always north in JQ territory. Everyone on JQ thinks you work together because we always have to fight you two and rarely see you both go at it.
When I left tonight, HoD was way up north attack JQ keep and we just took back Ogrewatch from SBI. Why are your forces way up north and attacking nothing down south? Either one of you. JQ has to work twice as hard to get and keep territory because neither HoD or SBI fight each other often enough. Anyone on JQ has seen this for themselves. This is why everyone in JQ is certain you have a pact of some sort.
I don’t see HoD complaining when JQQ and ET teamed up during our first matchup.

Repair costs do stack up pretty steeply and I do wish ANet could tone down the repair costs in WvW a bit.

Im not sure the solution but i can say when a server dominates its no fun for anyone.
Im on Crystal Desert and a few days ago we had the whole map, there was literally no one to fight, i ended up logging off because it was so boring.
I wish you luck in the Tier 2 bracket and hope you make it up to Tier 1 to fight HoD, cos my colleague in on CD and I wanna have a fight with him xD

because if you matched servers based on night time activity, they’d have to play the game the same way we do? you know? against players?

above everything else, we are ruthless against the servers we face..
It would be more accurate to say “ET is ruthless against servers they are beating”
its cute, but even in our last competitive fight with HOD, we only lost by 1000 points, we stay in the game until it is over and thats how we play. everyone can take cheap shots at us as much as you want, but ruin has never backed down from a fight even if we are losing, but we cant hold the entire map by our selves.
Also forgot HoD came back from a 6k point deficit with 2 servers on their front yard

The fact that they are even competing against HoD is an accomplishment in itself. That’s literally like you watching the movie “300” and laughing at the Spartans for losing.

Cos Ascension Alliance and Ruin transferred there (they were on Northern Shiverpeaks previously) when they first lost to HoD and (was it JQ/SBI or Beastgate I forgot… ) cos the ques we’re getting crazy.

Power and weapon damage will not affect condition damage. It’s a stat on it’s own. Power and weapon damage only affects direct damage and crits, and any bleeds/burns etc etc are based on the skill being used + condition damage. Also, I think 165 Precision is 7.8% crit chance or something similar

Why not? Dominating doesn’t mean you’re going in without a fight. JQ an SBI put up good fights all the time.

Now that everyone has given up hope and there’s only ever 8 people in WvW, I get a week of porting to the TP for free and only having to pay for transport back, making every port to TP only half price. Which comes in handy since most people on my server are now just farming instance runs for cash.
Worth it.
Everyone gets free ports to TP through Heart of the Mists :P

What server are you on and what level are you? Taking that long to kill a dolyak, I think you’re abit low lvl. Also really depends what time you play, teams you’re against and server you’re on

Keep in mind that vulnerability application has a lot of bugs for rangers and sometimes it applies during opening strike and sometimes it doesn’t. The one for yourself and the one for your pet bugs out for me all the time.
Opening Strike has a 900 range limit T.T

And we were always leading even during NA prime time on the first day so I’m not sure what you’re saying lol. Top 4 servers don’t get to the top 4 dominating NA prime time only, they have to have good round the clock support to beat the 2nd and 3rd brackets.

And Sam, yeah, we do have the Synergy Alliance, doesn’t mean we’re ready to take on the top servers just yet. We are preparing for the eventuality and getting ready for one hell of a fight that is bound to come at some point.
I asked my colleague and apparently CD lacks a bit of NA presence. Wouldn’t that be your top priority though seeing you have a decent Oceanic presence? o.O

I love how easy it is for you band wagoners from HoD to say that all JQ does is cry when the only reason your server has ANY points is because of Titan Alliance and PRX / SIN running your entire server.
I think SIN is from an entirely different server, unless you meant SYN. But no, the HoD militia is very very good! Either they were good from the start, or they learnt some leadership qualities from being lead by TA officers early on, they are a very good force and I am proud to play with and for HoD

Come on. It’s not impossible to balance different maps. You could make them just very slightly different from each other. Waypoints a few meters away, different climate. More or less same layout.
Sure it won’t be 100% the same, but if done well only people who whine about everything or can’t deal with losing will blame it for their loss.
At least it would keep the game fresh longer to have different sceneries.
Honestly just moving spawn points a few meters here and there or small changes won’t make any difference. I would like each borderland to have a theme (snow,swamp,desert etc) but then we’ll probably have people saying that snow maps are hard on the eyes (they can be), swampy maps benefit green more (probably) etc etc. I’m all for more varied borderlands though. As long as they are similar and don’t give any side any upper hand.

Preach it. HoD has way more than enough players, and as long as free transfers are open even to FULL servers, WvW will never improve. I haven’t been able to WvW at all for the past 5 days cos ques take longer than 5 hours, and by that time it’s time to go to bed and work the next day…
