Borlis Pass’ official male cheerleader
Commander by title: Sawnec the Mesmer
I am a player with 9 active toons and 1 toon that’s a key farming toon (until I use the slot for something else). Occasionally I have to alt to another toon and swapping back out to the character selection screen sometimes time consuming because I’ll hit the wrong toon when trying to log back in.
I’d like to suggest that we attach a new window to a key that’s unused (such as F8 of 9) that will open a panel with a dropdown box that contains a list of our toons names, their profession and level. If we select one of these and click on ok, it will automate the log out and in process for us.
Goku?????
Sun Wukong.
Has anyone gotten ahold of one yet? I’d love to see it in-game.
The monocle looks identical across all weights, and as such, isn’t it supposed to unlock across all weights when you use it? I just bought one (luckily the correct weight for who I wanted to use it on) but it did not unlock all 3 weights, just light.
:v There’s several other items that have multiple weights but the same skin, so I’m confused.
Something tells me you need gold event during boss fights event to have change on the recipe, that is only way I can see why so few are available…
They drop out of the chest you get for killing the gauntlet bosses up top.
I purchased the Light version last night and applied it to a character. Only the Light version of the skin was unlocked in the wardrobe.
Looks like you ans see eared your own question already and located the issue for yourself…
If there is a light and medium and heavy version of a skin then there are three unique skins to unlock. If the skin can apply to any armor class then there is only one skin to unlock..
So things like the gas mask are unlocked for all three at once while the monocle must be unlocked individually as there is a light and medium and heavy variant for the skin.
Not a bug just a gold sink and rng working as intended
Skins that are identical across weights are supposed to unlock all the weights.
Outfits were not intended to be used in combat. What you are seeing isn’t a form of armor, so of course you aren’t going to see it on your clones. Honestly, I don’t know how Arenanet would be able to transfer to your clones. In truth, I’m surprised they don’t ban their usage in any PVP formats, WvW in particular. In PVP, it still lists your class on the map with an icon, but in WvW, classes aren’t laid out in a specific manner. If it’s really such a big deal, just turn it off in those particular circumstances.
I don’t see any reason why they can’t just duplicate the model you’re using and solve the problem entirely. Frankly, that’s what I thought they were doing in the first place.
@OP: Same here. I noticed it before, but now that I have town clothes I like to wear everywhere it’s a slight problem.

Likely it’s because "Pwnography" is phonetically wicked close to "Pornography" and qualified as a misspelling? It doesn’t help the name of the guild is "Hardcore Pwngraphy"

I would like to request a second look at this ticket.

Because not being refunded for a skin I already own is just silly. I understand I wasn’t the one who made the initial purchase, so I might be misinterpreting the response, but it’s still jarring none the less.
-[edit]-
Let me rephrase my meaning.
I received a gift from a friend, only after opening the container item did I realize he had purchased me a set of armor I ALREADY OWN, even though we agreed on a different set. He purchased the wrong armor on accident. I just want it to be swapped out for the intended armor :c

It’s more likely that your ISP sucks than ANet’s servers.
DX9 doesn’t care what your machine can run. It’s optimized for machines build for XP, so to an extent (obviously on a software level) you’re locked into similar performance.
There is this persistent problem I’ve had since arguably the day I started (the November after launch) that hasn’t really bothered me til now since I took a short break and noticed just how often it happens.
When I hold right-click to turn my camera, it randomly drops right-click status (if that makes sense) and I lose control of the camera. This is compounded by it randomly re-catching the rightclick, which easily 2/3 of the time the mouse is under something clickable, changing my target and screwing up what I’m doing, also by changing the direction I dodge into a random direction I did not intend. It also goes out of the window a *lot* of the time (as I have two monitors and play on windowed fullscreen) and I wind up randomly right-clicking on everything you can think of on the right screen (usually something in Chrome.)
Windows 8.1, no special software installed to mess with USB ports or the mouse.
[edit]
I forgot to mention I’ve been testing for several days in other games, including LoL, Antichamber, Left 4 Dead/2, Dark Souls/II, Skyrim, Garry’s Mod, Half-Life #, Outlast, etc. etc. Basically, everything on my Steam library. The *ONLY* game that I have issues with is Guild Wars 2.
[edit+]
Lets make this weirder. I just did a little test and held right-click on my browser. I ran the mouse in circles and the right-click menu kept coming up. I closed out of Guild Wars 2, and boom. Nothing.

Probably because they sunk a great deal of time (and/or money) into the new patch that is just irritating a lot of us.
Well, they used to give us content every month, and we’ve known for quite some time (easily since the Queen’s Jubilee era) that after this LS arch was over there would be a little down time, which was re-hashed by ANet themselves stating on multiple occasions that there will be no new content coming out of this patch.
I’ve seen exponentially more chatter in the maps of Gendarran now that they’re looking for other games to play because of megaservers, so I figured I’d get some opinions from others.
Personally, I don’t plan on leaving, but I do plan on significantly reducing money spent on the game because I really, really dislike the direction it’s now going.
-[edit]-
Let me expand on my own opinion:
I am the kind of player who prefers to play on cross-server guilds so I can separate where I spend my time. Either with my server in Vigil Keep/Lion’s Arch, or with my guild by guesting. Now that everything’s been mixed together (rather poorly, but that’s just my opinion) I’m having a hard time staying interested because I’m not being thrown in with the people I /want/ to talk to when I want to talk to them.
(edited by Sawnic.6795)
can you equip/unequip/equip/unequip/equip/etc. and get 5 hours of dmg reduction, then keep it while doing pve stuff? actually, I would expect it to go away if you change zones or wp, so nm.
It didn’t. It was the actual boon for using the damage reduction item. And yes, the duration stacked.
This last mini-patch appears to have fixed it.
Don’t do it. Don’t abuse this in WvW or PvE.
It’s obviously unintended. Hopefully they’ll see the priority of this issue and respond quickly.
I reported it in-game as well as here before shelving my broom (and by that I mean burying it in my pockets), personally.
I don’t want to be on the business end of ANet’s backhand.
Does it sound too good to be true?
I’m 99.9% certain it’s unintended (why does costume brawl need 5% damage reduction?), and that ANet doesn’t want people to use it.
This is exactly why I am not using my broom outside of events that will involve me fighting.
I am the kind of player who enjoys cross-server guilds. I can have all my interactions with my guild when I /want/ by guesting over and can have all the interactions with my server by talking in /map. I understand I am in a very small minority for interactivity preferences with other players, but would you please allow us the option to opt out of megaservers?
As a suggestion for that, since I know the system likely won’t allow us to just opt out straight up, allow us the option to modify what it should prioritize when sorting us, such as in my case, I can set it so the server with the most players from my home server is top priority, then however I’m feeling I can modify afterwords. That way, we have a psuedo-opt-out that I’m certain we can be happy with because we can have some level of control over what it does.
If the above suggestion would be too taxing to the server to use (after all, that is a lot of players who would be modifying it) how about you set a timer or a (gem store) item that would require some kind of incentive to not change it ever 30 minutes.
Using the broom gives the damage reduction buff. It also stacks, so using the broom multiple times adds duration to the boon.
And again with assuming they can’t do math….
… uh huh….
Where is that popcorn?
No, I mean they are assuming we are all idiots that can’t do math and figure out the nerf is a whole lot bigger than 10%.
They said during the initial announcement that the numbers they had were about 10%. They did not say they were looking to make the nerf 10%
You don’t now.
The only way to get gold at a reasonable (and legal) rate now is to exchange real world money for gems and then gems for gold.
As of today you can buy 1 gold for .16 cents from Anet’s gems. Sorry.
Well considering I make upwards of 20g still per temple run and much more than that on the trading post, this post I am quoting is incorrect.

Same here :\

Easy fix would be change your ability off shift. There is no in-game option that I am aware of to mess with the map.
How will cross-server guild members be seen? I don’t want to be dumped into Tarnished Coast servers if I can avoid it because RPing annoys me (mostly because most RPs I see in /me are horribly, badly written), but the guild I’m in is a TC guild. I’m also not an RPer so that’s just a slot that someone else can use that I’m taking up.
Are we going to have the choice to jump between servers as well? Because I want to stay on Borlis Pass. If I wanted to go to another server I’d guest or transfer.

Fixed up some aggressive comments to be less aggressive.

Yes Sawnic, but I am seeing the big heads all over, and there is nothing I can do to change it, hence I am being pranked without wanting it.
I’m glad you read my post.
A total disrespect. What if I DO NOT wish to be part of your “April´s fool day prank”? My opinion does not count?
You don’t volunteer to be pranked.
It is 12:30 PM central time. I just logged on, and bobbleheads are not loading. Restarting did not fix it.
:c I really wanted to play with them some more
Because I know alot of ignorant people who compare making dyes account bound to the capability of paying your way to max level with full gear. GW2 community is consisted of different bases and each one are ignorant about their own.
‘’Town clothing is why I play’‘. ’’Oh no, legendary is why I play’’. ‘’No no, I play because I am waiting for Titan that will come in 20 years, kitten Anet and GW2’’.
Also, I care about this place more than uneducated people not knwing anything about the MMO industry, believing that games should never evolve becasue they are happy with the way they are.
One more thing, read the EOLA before talking about ‘’Anet must refund’’.
I really don’t want to go off-topic here but educated people know it’s an EULA and I’m actually wondering if you know what the word ‘ignorant’ means. Because it makes no sense in that context.
Oh my, you are really good with finding typos. If you are this good, you should probably read it to understand that forcing Anet into refunds isn’t a legal option.
Otherwise, if you really think games should not eveolve because some want those old features, then you have to try checking Wiki too, you will find some informative pages about MMOs.
eula isnt really legally binding in most states anyhow. Its gives them more of a case, but at the end of the day its up the judge to decide. Anyhow legal isnt so important in this case, its more about satisfying customers, satisfied customers spend more, they majority of people who actually invested in town clothes, are the type of customers anet likes, they spend money often for things they feel is worthwhile. Its a bad idea to alienate a user base that regularly supports you, satisfying them is more profitable in the long run.
These people probably wont sue, but they may stop buying anything/leave the game. Since a lot of these guys are repeat buyers spending consistent money, thats a pretty bad thing for anet.
Actually, the EULA is generally considered a binding contract. Blizzard was using that argument to shut down private WoW servers (quite successfully, at that). However, it is not criminal to violate it, by the way.
So I can’t use my wintersday clothing with the glasses anymore? :c
I just look cute this way and I want to keep it :c

As we can see, the footprints are a little kitten y. They have been since launch, and I was wondering if we were ever going to get a fix.
Also the Zodiac medium armor has it’s own problems with Charr, because as you can see in that screenshot, the boot encases his feet (unlike most boots) but I still leave (backwards) clawmarks.
Why do you assume you’re guaranteed any loot at all?
champs and up are guaranteed to drop loot?
thats whybut in zerg events, you’re unlikely to get anything, for some reason being in a party means the damage threshold for getting credit gets cut by alot.
Want to come on some temple runs? You kill several champs and not get loot, but get credit for the kill.
Have been for months.
credit threshold for xp is alot lower than credit for loot.
I thought drops were guaranteed?
once you hit the threshold, it is.
But now you’re changing your story.

Put it on display and scare the res of them away.
you people do realize. There is a point where you need condis for the fight…right?
That was covered.
And why was this moved to the profession balance board?
I thought id just let you guys know again that condis are needed for the most important part of the fight. The burst phase needs da condi spammers. So you guys do matter. Sure not in the beginning but in the most important part. Without you the full zerk guys wont be doing max dmg to it at burst phase.
Oh, so we’re not important in the sense that we’re contributing, only that we’re making the raw damage players better.
How is that any better?
Well conditions are sort of supposed to be support and not equivalent DPS, so it kind of fits.
I’m not even sure how to respond to this.
It’s kind of like saying “Raw damage is supposed to sort of kind of be complimentary to DoTs.”
Mine stayed account bound even after picking stats, but I didn’t put an upgrade in the slot out of laziness. I don’t know what effect that will have.

They haven’t implemented the Bezerker change yet. That comes next patch I believe.
Also, people are reporting after the No Condition phase there is a phase that needs heavy conditions.
That doesn’t fix the problem of “Condition players are forced to afk or respec.”
It’s a straight up slap to the face.
Or just Dodge/Roll until the phase that requires Conditions to begin?
So we’re back to “afk til conditions start.”
It doesn’t fix the problem that Zerkers can faceroll the whole fight, but Condition builds have to wait however long and be yelled at by people who don’t know the mechanics.
So I’m just curious then, what is your solution? Do they remove the mechanic from the game so the fight is rather simple? Do they just tone down the intensity of the reflect mechanic?
Get rid of the Zerker Vs. Condition for this. Seeing as how they are going to implement a change to the Zerker build in the March 18th Patch or soon after.
The real question is how can this fight be accomplished with the game mechanics in place.
The proper fix would be either remove the buff (which I would like to avoid) or add a buff during P2 that does a reflect on raw damage, but reduced damage reflection if it’s a DoT-applying skill.
To everyone saying condition players aren’t being screwed:
You can powerDPS the whole fight, you can’t condition spam for more than half of it. As a staff mesmer I literally have to afk until condition time (if I bother to do it at all) because every little kitten thing I do gives me an illusion that casts winds of chaos.

But if there is a phase that needs heavy conditions, it’s unfair to Berserker players as they need to respec too.
I have yet to see that phase because they keep failing.
The condition reflect screws more than just condition players, they’re just the hardest hit.
