Why did you give the major clockwork things condition reflect?
"Hey guys! We’re fixing berserker everything! Except for this event, which is arguably one of the most important ones we’ve ever released."
¬_¬
-[edit]-
Before anyone comments about "condition is bad" or gives me *any* flavor of that argument, I don’t want to hear it. If I was asking about build advice, I’d have made a topic about it. (only commenting because of another post I saw in a similar thread.)
(edited by Sawnic.6795)
Also, was this even the right board to put this in? Honestly not sure if it would belong here or somewhere else, because it’s an in-game "bug" but it might just be the art department being "lolwhoops".

The medium is the only one that seems weird. Wouldn’t you agree?
If LA was removed today, people would just congregate in another location. Your chatroom will never be gone for good.
There is no set location, though. Some will go to Hoelbrak, others to Rata Sum, etc. etc.
No, I’m not trolling. This is an honest question. Literally the only thing that’s really keeping me playing is talking to everyone in Lion’s Arch. If that’s gone I don’t know if I can come back. I honestly don’t know if I can.
We are trying to take steps to address some of the dominance of Berserker/DPS players. More info next week, I think.
Jon
If you want to go through with this, please do not make Berserker’s setups weaker but make the other setups stronger/more useful. Nerfing the zerker gear will only end in dumbed down and more boring gameplay. Buffing everything else will likely have similar effects but there might be ways to avoid them more so than when nerfing zerker.
That won’t solve the problem because zerker elitists will still be QQing about how you’re not in zerker.
Not if you don’t join their groups.
You are allowed to play how you want, so should we.
And this is exactly what I’m talking about.
Also, not every “zerker run” advertises as a “zerker run”.

so you will ban scamers but not return the gold ? :/
trading with mail is risky i do it only with ppl i know
who will be stupid to mail trade with strangers ?
They’re not returning the gold because they’ve told us on several occasions (easily 10 or so times since launch, more if you count support tickets and etc.) that we are on our own if we mail our things off instead of using the TP.
It is almost like if there was a CoD option for mail, or a direct trade option that exist in ever other MMO on the market, this would not be an issue. But hey we got to keep making Evon richer and richer.
I can understand why you’d want a P2P trade system, but given the above post explaining the way the TP functions as an anti-scam tool, it seems rather silly.
Mass Invisibility is ten and Time Warp is only five, from what I recall of what I’ve read from official sources. If my memory is correct lol
^
Most AoEs hit up to 5 targets unless it’s stated otherwise in the tooltips or wiki (e.g. Mass Invisibility or Meteor Shower).
Mass Invis doesn’t say how many targets it hits. Just “You and all allies.”
Exactly how many people does it hit? I swear that I (and apparently several others on Borlis Pass) have read somewhere that it hits ten, but all of our Lion’s Arch unofficial theorycrafting tests show clearly that it only affects five in an “afk and count the buffs” scenario.

Warp to the waypoint.
That being said, ANet dropped the ball forgetting to add the option at the bottom of the screen.
This has happened three times now. Twice in fractals, once in Tixx’s dungeon.
After blinking or phase retreating, I become stuck in one place and cannot move. Blinking or phase retreating does not fix the issue, simply moves me. To get out of it, after some time that appears to be random, I have to swap to the sword and use Blurred Frenzy.
It’s unfair for them to patch the game.
Got it.
change = patch?By definition. You’re calling it change, I’m calling it patch. You’re doing it on purpose, too, because it sounds worse.
I’m willing to bet you dropped several gold on presents and are now upset.
Create your own thread and call it patch. I understand you want to be noticed.
I was in the same boat with OP, planning to buy and open hoping to get charged quartz for leveling crafts to 500.
Or, I can call it a patch here, because that’s what it is.
*It’s unfair for them to patch the game.

I’m talking about the “change” what they give does not matter, changing it half way is lousy. It’s unfair to people who are yet to open those boxes..

Evon isn’t the one sending Lionguard in all sorts of places leaving LA defenseless, is he? ;p
Can’t be /defenseless/. I don’t leave LA. I have a 100% victory rating.
That being said, I support Evon and if the laws of nature allowed it, I’d bear that man’s children.
During Snowball Mayhem I was downed and someone put a wall on top of me. When I got up because of a rally I could not move, but I was given the pass through option. I tried to waypoint first, but the waypoint disappeared when I tried to use it, so using the pass through option dropped me below the map.
I do not know if this is exploitable, but I snapped some screenshots and bounced out of the match.

They’re craftable through recipes you can find in the presents, apparently.
I opened over 1k presents and found no such recipe
Well several people in my guild claimed to have gotten them from there, as well as several people in LA /map.
Isn’t it the tonics that you can learn a recipe for, and not the minipets?
Oh, you’re right. Somehow I read tonics this whole time in the thread.
Carry on.

I don’t like the addition of Tixx in there. While the checkpoint is welcome, the first couple of times I didn’t even noticed he was there. And three dialogue choices, the middle of which being the one you want? I have clicked the wrong option by accident several times now. Here’s what they should have done:
* Remove Tixx
* Everyone carries a present by default
* When you get to the halfway point it automatically sets the checkpoint
* If you fall you lose your extra present, but can still continue from the checkpointSee? No npc required. Just make it automatic.
That’s how it was last year, sans the strikes. There was also no checkpoint. The damage you take was also like, a third of what it is now though.
Oh, and the snowflakes actually crumbled beneath your feet, forcing you to keep going.

lol that barbed wire.
It works as intended in the dungeon though, which is odd.
Same here. :c

I thought they are created by the dash skill from the dolfins?
They show up in the same area every time, including in areas where it’s painfully obvious the dash skill would be more problematic than it’s worth, like the tunnel at the very beginning.
Your username is already public. I see no reason why they shouldn’t put it on the board.
Show you the way to find the Boss room
Oh I’ve always hugged the right wall all the way around. :v
Does anyone actually know what the random whirlpools do?
turn off auto targetting if you wanna use flamethrower.
Workarounds are not fixes.
Autotarget really shouldn’t be on in the first place, though.
lul.
perhaps your local time is the same as server time and that is why it doesn’t seem to change?
GW2 Server Time is UTC-8, by the way
I’m two hours ahead of server time. This bug didn’t appear til the Halloween content release.
As the title says, I can’t set my client (none of my copies, at that) to server time. It’s either off, or local time. Setting to server just displays local.
A) The $ goes on the left. $5. $10. $15.
B) It would make them more money to do the exact opposite of this idea. As in, not implement it.
These are lore friendly.
All my toolbelts shouldn’t go on CD if they miss on my Engineer.
No. It will screw with the price of sigils on the TP.
Since legendaries are such a small percentage of sigil sales, no, it won’t.
I for one am wholly behind this idea. It makes legendaries that much more appealing and further rewards the work that players put into getting them.
Everyone who has a legendary will buy out all the ones they could feasibly use, per legendary.
Sudden influx in purchase orders somehow doesn’t equal to screwing with the price…
I certainly hope they make this a toggleable feature. I’ve already gotten used to pressing ‘v’ to dodge backwards.
For you Sawnic, of course
But evidence shows every time anet add’s a new UI/Control feature it also comes with an option to get rid of it and go back to how things were (the new fast-cast targeting options come to mind).
Personally, after double tapping to dodge i finally bound it to middle mouse, and that has practically changed my life! That being said, i don’t think i ever find myself “neutral dodging,” if you will. In otherwords, i pretty much always use dodge in conjunction with a direction.
I have middleclick bound to autowalk, but that’s just comparing buttons.
I have a weird hierarchy of combinations set up for what buttons I’ll use to dodge. If I’m using more than 1 key for my direction (such as qs or we) I’ll doubletap the appropriate direction. If I’m using one key I’ll tap v if I’m not reaching for an ability (my 6-0 are bound to 1-5 so it gets a little complicated).
I certainly hope they make this a toggleable feature. I’ve already gotten used to pressing ’v’ to dodge backwards.

@Sawnic
i’ve said everything in my first few posts, everything now is responses.
Maybe i don’t understand what you’re saying so i’ll break down the jist of what i remember:
-you admitted to pinging gear you dont wear in order to join zerker only groups. You maintain the “play how you want” yet you force your non-zerker gear on players that are simply trying to play how they want, which happens to be with other zerkers.
I guess you feel justified doing this because you don’t agree with players who insist on zerker gear only. But regardless how you feel about their playstyle, they’re only trying to “play how you want,” and unfortunately, the way they want to play doesn’t include your playstyle. So for some reason, you feel the need to punish people that play the game differently from you.
so what i’ve been getting is “play how you want” but it can’t inherently exclude other players. You are unable to “play how you want” because “the way you want” exludes you from certain groups with specific parameters from joining their group.
I never said I link gear to join zerker groups. I just said I link gear when people ask me if I have zerker gear.
fair enough, not that i condone lying. But if a group wants all zerkers, they should say “LFM all zerkers.” This all comes down to explicitly stating what type of group you want in the LFG. Everything else that happens is just the consequence of someone not being straightforward with their intentions when setting up a group.
And again with the all zerkers. There have been several instances where it’s a normal non-LOL-DPS party that ask, and I tell them yes and link that, but continue to wear my survival set because that’s what my build is revolving around.
You’re literally focusing on the worst possible argument because anything else breaks your argument.
yeah i just edited but i’ll say it again. It’s fair to ask for gear ping up front unless they said it was ‘all classes’ or something. If someone just says in map chat "LFM’ and you respond and they ask for gear ping because they’re all zerker, you should either be all zerker or be like “sry not zerker.”
i only use zerker as the example because that’s really the only gear discrimination we see. I mean i could say “all clerics” but that wouldn’t really be realistic.
It’s link, not ping. Nowhere int he definition of Ping is there an overlap that could possibly be confused with link </pet peeve>.
And no, it’s not the only discrimination, its just the most common.
see you ignored my point. Do you think it’s fair to state up front what type of gear you want people in your party to wear?
No, I got your point. I just didn’t comment on it because I have been this whole thread.
“play how you want…. as long as i’m ok with it”
That’s how you’re deciding to read what I have to say, I suppose.
But I’m done talking circles with you. Whenever you get shot down, you twist what was said to make it sound like it wasn’t, or you just ignore most of the comment that disagrees with yours, and focus on the heavy bits (taken out of context, no less) to support your already flawed claim.

@ Sawnic
Just plain stating you will be denied groups because of /inspect is outlandish. Especially with no evidence to support his claim. And before you cite WoW i will say /inspect existed well before gearscore, and the game itself is an entirely different beast.
If you’re cheating gear pings with alternative gear sets your just reinforcing the need for /inspect. You may be able to run sufficiently with a zerker group as a non-zerker, but you’re doing so at the expense of people expecting 4 others in zerker gear. That’s pretty selfish.
Gear links, not pings.
And yes, I actually have an entire MMO’s worth of experience on that subject. It’s called "Guild Wars 2." Maybe you’ve heard of it? Well, I carry around a set of gear identical to mine I’m wearing as it is with stats people want to see so I won’t be ejected when I see they want a certain gear set. I can only imagine how hard it will be to get around that when they have an inspect feature. :v
Allowing /inspect will quite literally start another GearScore fiasco.
like i said, you’re being selfish if you’re cheating what the group is looking for.
Gearscore was used in WoW because certain content needed a certain stat level to complete. In other words, if your gear wasn’t good enough, you simply couldn’t compete/last in certain instances.
There is no content like this in GW2. Everything can be completed by anyone assuming you have a certain amount of skill.
At least you have a reasonable argument against /inspect. If /inspect was implemented you would no longer be able to troll zerker groups.
It’s not just zerker groups I use that on, but yeah it’s mostly zerker groups.
Also, if it really was as simple as how you’re making it sound, we wouldn’t have so many "Zerker or boot" parties.
Basically, my point is "My gear is my business. If I don’t want you to know what I’m wearing, that sounds like a problem. I play this game for me."
@ Sawnic

Why would they unsoulbind an item that was intended to be rediculously hard or expensive? lul
AreaNet has said they want to avoid players telling players how to play (hints no DPS and partially incomplete combat logs and the lack of a full inspect).
Did they say this, or did you infer based on what you put in parenthesis?
cuz that would be like saying they never put in exotic breathers because they didn’t want us to get too invested in underwater combat. I think a better explanation is they ran out of development time before the projected release date.
If you want to avoid people telling you how to play, create/join groups with open parameters, and avoid ambiguous pugs and zerker only groups. Problem solved, and you didn’t even have to stifle the UI.
Except, that’s nothing like them telling us to not put on exotic aquabreathers. <_<;
Also, if a gear inspect feature comes out, good luck finding a group that has open parameters.
my point was, you can’t make an inference as to Anets motivations based on things that may not be in the game simply because time didn’t permit for it. If he’s got a quote or something describing the influence of /inspect on player choice, that would make more sense.
are you telling me if /inspect comes out, my guild wont invite me to groups? Regardless, i generally pug "lfm all classes welcome" and no one seems to care what gear you have.
If you want people to have specific gear in your group, that’s fine, but it’s your responsibility to say so in the LFG. This has nothing to do with /inspect.
Actually, I wouldn’t be shocked if your guild, especially if it’s full of strangers, had the same rules that pugs would have. "If you don’t have this kind of gear you can’t come." Guess how they’d check/enforce it?
Same applies to the pugs in the LFG tool. You can clarify you want this kind of gear (which the vast majority will do, and you you know it) and will enforce it with said inspect feature.
But yes, it was in a review of the game I read a while back. It’s the whole reason I waited a year before playing the game to see if they would impliment these things anyway and break the spirit of what they were trying to develop.
But mostly, don’t base your argument off inferences you made based on things that may have been left out of the game simply because time didn’t allow it.
Notice how I said I did read it, over a year ago ...
you really gotta be more specific. Did you read "Play how you want" or did you read "we purposly limited the combat log, left out inspect, and made it impossible to calculate DPS."
I realize this is really nitpicky, but you’re the one that keeps going back to semantics while ignoring the overall point.
I have read nothing that has indicated they purposely left out the /inspect feature. Feel free to show me other wise. The fact that you can ping gear leads me to believe they don’t have an issue with people sharing what gear they’re wearing.
Just clarifying, here. You can’t "ping" gear. It will not do anything if you put it on the minimap. You can link it, yeah, but that doesn’t really prove much of anything other than what the name, stats and skin of the item is that I decided to ctrl/shift click.
Unrelated fun fact, I used to have a zerker set identical to what I was wearing and I linked that when people wanted me to link my gear, instead of what I was actually wearing.
removing soul bound status is all we need, keep it account bound but soul bound status is one of the worst decisions they have made.
How is them giving you incentive to play the game the worst decision ever?

If they add an inspect feature, it better not tell people stats. Gear elitists won’t let anyone play.
