Considering they added a link on FB about ‘’expressing your idea regarding Living story’’ i thought this thread should stay really up the section.
The idea itself its not that bad, but I must admit tbh some of them is kinda unpleasant.
The last ones becoming a lot grindy, boring and sometimes, related to stuff i dont really enjoy (e.g. SAB or this WvW bulkitten) . I also can’t really face to play wvw any day in order to finish them due to Queues on the server I am at the very moment – like 2h average – (seriously, can’t you improve the capacity of the areas or whatever in order to not get insane queues even late at night?).
It’s nice way for those who are top Achivements to have some extras but really, at times it gets blue for us..

For many ppl living story is kinda a major turn off: ‘’Omg ill never do this, i’ll never finish that, I’d like to do it but its too grindy and i dont’ have the time needed’’ and yada yada.
Time gating and grind are ruining a bit the game at this state.
My 2 cent: Living story staying at least for a month (or being permanent wouldn’t hurt either), and less ’’kill an horde of sentries and dollies" -.-

Trading Post doesnt work right now. Each time you go researching some item, it doesnt show anything as result.
I’ve been asking in ./map chat, people having the same issues.

Actually you can. Add something like “Read carefully” at the start of the message and they’ll be forced to glide over to read the rest if they don’t want to join something they might not be looking for.

Thats how I type it generally: “Read It all please: etc” and still… no changes, been there done that, same issues. Did try anything otherwise wouldn’t be that frustrated about. :/

Okay, i’ll try to point out at the issue without being harsh or anything but it frustrates me immensely lately.
Please Anet fix the LFG tool. Seems a lot of ppl is totally UNABLE TO READ or lazy to even read properly an lfg till the very end, so generally it happens:

• You ask a guardian or an x specific class and whatever else joins in.
• You ask for a lvl 80 player, an horde of under lvls come and fill the spot.
• You ask a certain amount of Achivement Points or Agony resistance or whatever else pre-requisite (like for example: must have done this at least one time) to be sure you are not going to spend 3 hours for something that takes 1 hour or less, and who join have no clue of what you’re talking about. With the consequence you spend 20 minutes kicking people and posting again.
  Please put a future that can prevent people not meeting the requisites you’re asking for, to join those parties that ask for specs.
  Alternatively you can force certain ppl to read but I dont think that will happen any soon!
  I dont really want to sound elitist or anything but really – I dont like myself the extreme ‘’exp ppl’’ stuff -, i dont want to be rude and respect everyone, but this is really hitting my nerves and need to be adjusted accordingly.

The teleport / camera angle flip on the the holo-generators is definately a problem as well. Especially if you are trying to get out of the way for spinning gears that landed near one.

Same for us just before, both the issues need to be addressed, very annoying as norn if i collide to one of those things my camera go crazy -.-

Got kicked with no notice or error code on the character screen, then when i tried to log back in I go this error…
After several tries my loading screen stuck on loop and that’s about it -.-

Yep, and then it frozen and I had to alt+f4 and restart client.
But everywhere else it’s pretty fine, so i take its related to anet pretty much.

Actually today I experienced massive lag for the first very time since headstart, till the point i just crashed 2 times in a row doing temples and one time doing shatterer, and each time i started having huge skill lag and was impossible to cast stuff in very crowded areas. Even before the last patch i did many times temples on Deso with a lot of ppl and never crashed or experienced something similar so yeah… Considering the complaints, I get ther’s some routing problem out there.

QQ moar! Seriously, you want to just instantly have the best weapon in game and then what? Be bored again? Casually playing you can easily have a weapon in a month, if you only play lets say 1.5 hours a day, thats enough for 3 dungeons. Thats an easy 5-6G there, then a couple world bosses, theres another gold. So 7 gold a day, then multiply that by 30 days in a month, 210G, that is enough to level you to 500, assuming you played “casually” enough in the last year to get to 400. I’m amazed people dont see the problem here…. This is a game, omg guys, what the kitten. There is a difference between game and work, and way you talking is more like a skeduled work. Its not unreasonable QQ.
I never complained when i used to raid any evening 5-6 hours, actually was enjoning it (i’m not saying i miss raids, i dont’, i’m here because there are none), but all this is is NOT FUN, not at all, it’s annoying and boring.
Its not like all the people need necessarily something new to achieve in order to feel satisfied. Sometimes I can play even 10 different instances consecutively and never get tired of it, run dailies fractals as well and going for more. The combat system of the game, enjoyment for instances themselves and some good laugh, give me enough satisfaction to dispel the boredom, that’s for sure. (i’d like more instances and better development of fractals still.. and better rewards in general :p). Other way around dont think its even remotely fun to stay there gathering mats to craft bunch of daily components meanwhile my craft is stuck to 450 and i think ‘’omg my next 2 weaks are screwed" – if i log anyday, but if i cant’ uhm…. well -
Moreover it’s a 10% dmg difference so its kinda a ‘’need’, otherwise everyone would feel carried and/or who organizes teams wouldnt carry them ( lets not start with the ’’i’ve never made a fuss about gear" please, because 80% of the players do – unless you are willing to spend 3 hours in a dungeon -).
The game never makes me feel like thers a lack of things to do, honestly its all other way around. Even if i had 5 legendaries would be playing still, but this way feels such as ‘’stick and carrot’’ and when you finally reach ur ’’goal’’ they put other endless grind for some other thing, and it feels like you’re never there. Even I feeel like this sometimes, let alone a casual lol…

I have pretty much all that i wanted till now(included one legendary), but fact I must play things such as world events and stuff which aint dungeons and have to get timewise a better reward just doing those rather than run a full dungeon…well… kinda sad, what you think?
I might be old for this ’’new’’ way of intend contents but we loved games where actually we got better rewards for doing proper instances.
Here is like, the reward is proportional to: running around doing events taggin mobs with autoattack and speculations over auctions/crafting… Just what the kitten?

Thi is becoming the arch-nemesis of players like me that always loved the instances world and screw the rest.

This update to me sounds like a major turn off, i dont want to camp Orr (e.g. dragonite) all the day long. somebody said: " Its easy , its max 5 mega events!" yeah dear, but you have to be there tracking them and for ppl that doesnt have all day long but logs just in the evening – even on daily basis – can be not that immediate and its not given for granted the ’’x’’ event will happen anytime soon.
To not mention those time gated components and the stock of oris, ecto and ancient wood involved… For a casual its like ‘’okay, i’ll get one prolly past 2 months minimum."

The first ascended stuff been introduced with Fractals and should have been related to there ( althought I agree it’s nice and fine for those who actually plays majorly WvW having an equivalent trade for that reward as well) , just content developed and upgrated. Instead we are stuck at max 50, with no (legit) progress and small reward compared to what you can gather in one Scarlet Invasion. All the ascended gear acquisition is split in too many ways, too many curriencies ( that other nice idea of Guild Missions.. Dont’ even want to get started on that..), and, if it wasnt’ enough, Anet wants to introduce ascended armor soon..
Dear Anet, I hope you’re going to release the armor with a less annoying way than what you have done for weapons because otherwise i think only you lovely devs will play your own game, not us for sure. People dont ‘want an endless grind. Less currencies, no time gating, rewards related to proper instances (and+or wvw accomplisments), and if you really wants to make crafting that useful, releases craftable precursors ( not on same basis of ascended, thanks.)
I know all those kids who have no idea about what Daoc was or those who like the ’’pay to win’’ way to just look shiney, surely are not going to concern. but they are not the majority of your customers…yet…

I may have to find another game for what I’m looking for, and that is fine. I’m slowly losing interest and I’m trying to not just give up on it. But for the level of potential this game has and how much I actually do enjoy the combat system it’s a terrible shame.

the truth is that GW1 was appealing because the PvP system was complex yes..but rewarding once enough you putted enough effort into it.

In GW1 I remember there was joy, tear of joy for reaching a rank 3 hero in Hero Ascent,

There were strong rivalries, a strong and amazing environment, it was yes a harsh game mode that only allowed the strong to survive , those unranked “noobs” willingly to wait like 48+ hours asking ranked people for a chance , I did that..for like one week before a r 10+ gave me a chance ( truly a saint of a player ) and from there I started my slow but steady rise through the ranks, they were moments of frustation but also joy and gratification.

There is nothing of that in GW2….GW1 was too elitist or so the devs say but the truth is GW1 is played by hundreds of people in this very moment and we had game mode like Guild vs Guild that were followed by thousand of people at time, when I started in GW1 I remember that in top teams some players ( mostly famous monks or mesmers )used to get paid over 2000 $ for a single match… we had WarMachine…eLuv..true PvP professional players, again there is nothing like that in GW2.

A poor successor to a great game…we can now only hope for changes..or GW3

Uhm, why my memories of 4 years spent on that game recalling me the way you talking here on a very small moment ONLY, and that was basically Guild Wars Prophecies at headstart, that’s what you describing.
Actually farming rank, if you really aimed at and wanted to – regardless what was easymoding or not -, wasn’t that bad since balance been there a problem as it is here.

I can tell you simply this: Ranger/Necro/Ritu/Para spike…
Oh and yeah, wanna mention those ranked ppl who were QQing like ’’ we play a legit balanced, you all lame" joining the teams of IWAY on night shifts to farm rank points? :p

Lame builds been there as they are here now. I hoped they could learn from mistakes they did on GW1 and improve on here but unrealistically, after almost 10 years, here we go again, and in some case even worse.

I can keep it quiet no more, cant really shut up any longer, after 200+ tournaments in this solo bulkitten arena i’m on verge.
I wish to know why Anet pay some people to release such foolish stuff. Brilliant ideas indeed…
That guy Helseth or however was called, big ‘’clap my hands’’ for him. Anet should employ him and fire up those they have atm because “balancing” is something they obviously can’t do.
Solo Q is full of ppl which play lame.
Necro/Ranger/Thief spamming 1 only skill all the time and pown.
On the other hand, unranked people who dont bother to even do any spvp to understand meccanics of maps and coming in Solo Q ruining my fun (and talking with ppl i meet anyday its not only me in this frustration), wasting my time and my efforts in every single thing i do during matchs.
Keep in mind i play bunker (guardian) ok, and puntually I have to:
1) Run to take buffs/orbs/svanirs, whatever thing, because ppl decide to engage in the middle of nowhere and don’t even watch minmap nor care about follow any tattic based on the team composition.
2) Roam to get bases because my team decided to inc middle one even if other team have 2 spirit rangers, necro/engy and mine instead loses all the team-fights on equal numbers.
3) Go destroy trebs because its easier than ask in team chat for, since nobody cares.
4) Go helping 2 necros getting skyhammer because they getting shotted by a thief – this last one today was really noticiable… -

Now we have stated this, I have to hear others in my team saying : OMG WHERE ARE YOU, HOLD POINTS NUB.
………. I have to censure myself but any of you reading this post can imagine the amount of blasfemy and bad words I would have said if i could to any of these nice players on my way…
Put a rank limit please, put an amount of things to do to enter a tournament, solo or not, doesnt matter. Atm is a total bulkitten, and all this is not even remotely fun..

Still today, I did complain about lack of help in the base i was trying to hold and was asking where my teammates were…. Answer ‘’ Stop giving us ur kitten, if u want anything more organized go Team Arena, this is Solo Q"
Oh dear lord… even if solo Q, u pop in a 5 PLAYERS TEAM, YOU MUST HAVE SOME CLUE, IT’S NOT A SINGLE PLAYER MATCH.

Yep, this one is our problems atm. We used to join Team Arenas in 2 or 3, all friends. We used to face premades sometimes but as well capable to win occasionally with some other nice pug randomly matched up.
Now with this new system i can’t no longer join anything handy with friends unless i’m willing to lose every single one – if que into Team Atena -
And Solo Q is just frustraiting..

I’m surely not the most “pro” at this kind of pvp but just want to say that from bunker had to go roaming to capture points because other 4 ppl I had in team, they been stuck at the middle base without moving at all for almost the entire match…
Nothing could help.. I told them to get stilness and tranquillity – obviously none did -, when finally moved from the gate, they went fighting completely away from capture points, all over the kitten place!
I’m not against ppl who wants to learn, can lose some match, dont mind – I prolly need to learn a lot more myself -, but losing 5/5 because ppl wander cluelessly, you tell them and they still do f***k all or leave, it’s horribly irritating.
Moreover acting like Tpvp is Spvp omg seriously.
Implement this kind of stuff was the worst thing ever.

Haha, exactly other way around here.
Guardian and ranger tried to stay meleeish boasting out the walls were not needed.. (it was a lvl 40ish).
They.. both died miserably.. Me (ele) and mesmer been calling our walls and killed him on our own.
Was last time i played any fractal with them.. Oh man, the irony
But yeah, melee is viable, depends what kind of team you have/classes and coordinations among parts.

In my ideal world, fractal weapons should drop at 30+, and when you drop one you dont want, you can take it to mystic forge with something like 250 frac relics, 5 pristine and 1 shard, for a chance at a different frac weapon (guarenteed different, but not which one it is).

There as well for me, with the difference they should drop at 40+

• x2 characters lvl 50 fotm
• 218 pristine relics (have spent like 20 pristine to get 2 rings long way back)
• 23 skins
• x2+ bank slots full of rings.
  Poor because fotm doesn’t reward like a mindless CoF.
  The problem of Arenanet is basically they seem not able to put a balance between something with awful droprate and something too common.
  To not even mention the rewarding system in gold terms, doh…

Same here, I was doing HoTW to help out some ppl and everybody got kicked out.
I do have 3k hours /age through 8 months playing time, was a bit WTF being told my accout is a trial.

I’ve personally kicked several ppl many times from Dungeon/fractals but always it has been for the same more than valid reasons: afk, uncompetence, deafness (e.g You ask somebody to do the “x thing” repeteadly and that person still keeps doing “y thing” over and over), cluelessness, big mouth/bad attitudes towards other members of the fellowship.
Never ever joked about intending it to be ’’funny" but some ppl, just give for granted they can do a tot amount of things, and that those will have no consequences when instead they do have, so yeah: You reap what you sow.

I agree, the fractal is terrible expecially past 40.. It becomes very boring and annoying.
Difficulty can be handled somehow but it’s just the amount of HP of bosses in there and quantity of trashes that just makes you sigh each time the screen reveals this fractal -.-
Even if nice dps takes quite a while.

Yeah 4 thieves could work it out but you not always can have them, or anyway, shouldnt’ be an ’’issue’’ considering the intent this game been made on

Dear Anet, give some love to The Minstrel, quite annoying fail on the design atm, prolly the less appealing among legendaries, but it’s still one of them after all!

I’m officially done excreting money in the mystic forge. Saved up and bought my Tooth of Frostfang in the end. I could have bought another precursor with the amount of money I’ve flushed down Zomorros. Very irritating.

Solid advice is generally not to bother.

I’ve done a ridiculous amount of exotics and rares. Exotics see your money disappear faster, but there’s nothing as depressing as putting in a hundred rare greatswords and not getting one exotic back even.

My2 cents:
Throwed around 700 Greatswords (rares) in the MF (for the same amount i spent into crafting and buying them, i would have got Dawn off the TP xD) right yestarday, all i got been.. 24 exotics swords, most often the exo crafted versions, an unmentionable amount of gold lost and that’s about it

Save up and buy off the TP.

Exactly same problem, I need to grab obsidian shards and i can’t because Southern Squad get stuck all the time in the same point of the map.
I reported this bug 2 times and game even been reset, it keeps getting stuck……
Please fix it, i wont’ go farming fractal on that purpose ;p
Moreover would be nice to move the NPC elsewhere…

I got 70 clovers over 10 try with x10 recipe. imho it gives better chances… After instead, i went for the 7 more i needed with x1 recipe and took me 15 attempts -.-

I will up this because I partially agree with. To not mention, gather groups for certain dungeons became nasty, and only if you know someone who can grab you with, then might have a chance ( e.g. SE, CoE, Arah…).
I wonder what will happen with Fractals above lvl 10 and how many ppl will try to pug it after a while…

Experienced several crashes 10 minutes each, impossible to interact with npcs or w/e thing.
Worked fine till 5,30 pm (+1GMT) when i crashed and was totally unable to connect for like 20 minutes. Went worse slownly in time; now i cant’ do anything, stuck on ’’every loading screen" as this threads says

This same problem happened to me starting between 4 and 5pm EST 11/12/12 after many hours of playing up to that point. I’m able to load the client, log in, select my character, and get maybe 10 seconds (if I’m lucky) of actual connection before everything drops. I have to force an exit of GW2 before my internet will come back.

Same here, atm I can log in game but i get kicked in less than 10 minutes, getting repeteadly error 7.. Pity i don’t have any firewall going on and enabled ports for GW2 wahtsoever so…
Never experienced this before, so pretty awkward.
