Dear Toymaker Tixx!
For Wintersday this year I would like:
Bug fixes to Keg Brawl
All of the non-combat activities like Keg Brawl added to the game including all the rewards and leaderboard systems planned.
All those emotes that are half-in the game from GW1 or whatever to be in the game.
More town clothes.
More horizontal progression; need moar armor skinz.
That’s all I want for Wintersday this year!
dude.
its a game about slashing baddies and getting loot in a beautiful environement.mini games wont stand a chance unless they give loot or if playing it is required for map completion.
You’re entitled to your opinion but that’s not the case. Also, loot WAS supposed to be available in the game. Weapon and armor skins EXCLUSIVE to those activities. For example, in the bar brawl, they said that a possible way to get rewards was that maybe there was a local dentist around and if you collected players teeth that you could knock out during the bar brawl, you’d be given exclusive items that were aesthetic only because you were bringing the dentist business the more you brawled.
http://www.arena.net/blog/activities-games-within-the-game
I was actually thinking about these activities and/or minigames on Monday. I’ve been assuming the rest just haven’t been finished yet and will make it in eventually. I’m starting to wonder though if they’ve been scrapped since nothing has been mentioned recently. These things were something I was highly looking forward to because I’ve been disappointed with most games having very little to do other than combat.
Yeah, I feel you. I’ve occupied more than 50 hours playing keg brawl and even started a guild to get more people into it with weekly events and such, but I’m one of a small few. I bet there’s a LOT of people who would’ve liked mini pet battles or a Charr racing arena. Or playing for a crowd of players at the mechanical orchestra… :x
not many players want to “keg brawl”.
that kind of stuff is really meant for people who live in gw2.
eventually if anet throw in a monthly or daily shinny for it, then youll see some people.
I don’t understand your post. o.o
My post isn’t just to bump Keg Brawl… there were 29 MORE activities planned other than Keg Brawl, ranging from target shootout to Charr Racing Arenas with steam powered cars…
But yeah, I also feel a ton of people don’t know about Keg Brawl either because they don’t know that there are supposed to be things to do inside Capital Cities. :/
BLACK CITADEL
Circus Charricus: Some sort of steam powered car racing described with “Lightning speed, deafening roar, dizzying rush of victory and metallic crush of defeat.” with those giant vehicles built by the Charr. Speak to Harran Ashtar in the War Wagon Prep Deck, by the road. The reason for delay: “Closed Arena… no spectators.” Seriously, Charr car racing arena ftw! Vroom vroom
Since Black Citadel is the second highest detailed racial city, I’ll give it another thorough look through and talk to every NPC I can, but for now that is all I could find.
THE GROVE
I couldn’t find anything. Will update if I do.
RATA SUM
Polymock: Clicky . If you go to Accountancy Waypoint, and then go east into the statics union, there’s a opening to the outside that has an Asura Gate. It has a lone engineer named “Regg” who’s perpetually hammering away at it. When you talk to him, he says “If you’re attempting to get through this gate, it’ll be a short trip to a long fall. It’s not fully functional yet.” So then you ask: When will it be up and running? He says: “Soon as I get the parts I need. Say, you don’t happen to have an extra spacial discombobulator on hand, do you?” No, Regg. No I don’t… ._.
HOELBRAK
Keg Brawl: If you don’t already know about Keg Brawl, shame on you and your whole family. After your shame, you should play it and then when you find out how magically fantastic it is, the only logical conclusion is to join my keg brawl guild .
Other than Keg Brawl, which is already in the game and working (Also got a couple updates too…) I haven’t been able to find anymore activities.
Lion’s Arch
Moa Racing: Repeating for emphasis. Moa racing. You can see the setup in the eastern part of Lion’s Arch with no real descriptions available but again, they’re fasirly obvious. One of the moa’s target descriptions says “Speed: Average. Special Ability: Screech” but the rest of the one’s standing around that aren’t racers just say Daze. There’s a u-turn wooden ramp at the bottom of the track too which is interesting and it looks like there’s still miners working on it or maybe they’re just general LA builders. Idk, but chocobos excite me greatly…
UPDATE: Moa Racing is available during the Dragon Bash festival
Mini Pet Battle Arena: You reach this from Bloodcoast Ward Waypoint, in the south part of Lion’s Arch east of Fort Marriner. It’s at Tenanera’s Point of Interest. No one tells you why it’s there or what’s going on but it’s pretty self explanatory and fairly obvious…
I’ll add more if and when I find them. If you find any that I missed, feel free to post about it and I’ll update the OP. I want more people to know about these things so more people can be excited about these things because these things are awesome!

Many people don’t know this, but before launch their were “activities” planned. They’re part of the reason why ArenaNet made their capital cities so incredibly awesome and rich in detail; they wanted players to treat the cities as a social hub to hang out with friends and foster social communities therein. While they appeared to have put those plans on hold, we can see a lot of the activities in game already. They’re just not active.
I encourage anyone who’s interested to do some serious exploration of the cities themselves and speculate what kind of activities might be there and what we can expect.
To elaborate; there are supposed to be 4 or 5 activities in each one of the racial capital cities. I’m pretty sure they’re all supposed to be completely unique unto themselves and are only available inside that capital city. So things like the Lion’s Arch diving board and the Metrica Province golem chess are NOT considered to be activities.
Here is a list of all the activities I could find by myself searching through the capital cities.
DIVINITY’S REACH
UPDATED: Jousting Event: In the northern section of the “Eastern Commons”, east of [Minister’s Waypoint] is a half built structure. Apparently some sort of jousting will take place, as alluded to by a antsy carnival worker.
The Busted Flagon: It’s the point of interest between “Western Commons” and “Plaza of Dwayna” on the map. If this is the bar brawl mentioned in interviews, supposedly this will be a perpetual activity where players can jump in and out as they please to fight in an epic bar brawl. However, when you talk to “Ingolf Roadson”, the norn inside, he mentions “Toss The Axe” which could be the actual activity instead. Description: “Y’know, everyone gets in a circle and tosses an axe to the right. Or is it left? Anyway, you get hit, you take a drink. All I remember from my last game was that the little sylvari who won. She had quite an arm.” He explains only reason they’re not doing it is because his brother “Uwe” isn’t there yet. “He should of been here ages ago.” Note: the Carnival Worker who sends you to this place refers to it as a bar brawl. On the support beam there are 4 signs (which look to be standard bar signs instead of specific to this one building) that read in New Krytan:
IF YOU ARE STILL STANDING YOU NEED MORE DWARVEN ALE
DONT DRINK AND QUEST
PLEASE DRINK RESPONSIBLY
EVERYONE STOP SHOUTING
UPDATE: Bar Brawl achievements have been added to the activity list. Bar Brawl, however, remains inactive.
Haidryn’s Menagerie: It’s the Point of Interest by Plaza of Melandru, by the vista. For now, it’s just a bunch of animals in cages. Like a “Golden Moa” and the “Cavern Scutter”. Description: “Welcome to Haidryn’s Menagerie. Haidryn is out on an expedition right now, but I’d be happy to show you around.” I don’t know what might happen if and when this is active, but there’s a beautiful area right next to it which the Animals might be allowed to roam under supervision and has a beautiful fountain with a statue and an interactable tree that reads: “Two names have been carved into the tree together: Mikal and Evkina.”
Uzolan’s Mechanical Orchestra: I think it’s supposed to work like a jukebox maybe, or some sort of collaborative instrument where you can make songs with other players for the rest of the area to hear. I can’t find any worthy description, just keep getting reminded that this is all paid for and organized by Minister Caudecus.
Carnival “Thump-Em Ups”: <—The title of the game is what is written on the sign in New Krytan. The Carnival Worker standing there only has a little bit to say. “Welcome. I guess you’re wondering what’s going on with the big tent here? Well, when Thump-Em-Ups is ready to open, people will really have something to talk about.” I don’t really know what a thump em up is, but I assume it’s just some sort of brawling arena for people that wanna wrestle and stuffs? lol, idk.
Mina’s Target Shootout: Description: “Three participants enter, each one with one of our custom bows. Hit the moving targets to earn points. Whoever has the most points at the end of each round wins.” To get here, travel down Dwayna’s Road from the main entrance and turn left at the District Promenade. It’s easily reachable by using the “Commons Waypoint”.

Yeah, I’m wondering where they all went too. I’m probably gonna make a post about it on the forums here too but I post over on MMORPG.com about it
Whenever I talk about this kind of stuff they never get any attention and I’m pretty sure that’s because people don’t know about them…
Seriously, who would pass up learning about Moa racing or Charr Car racing arenas. Or a pub where there’s a perpetual bar brawl and you can win prizes by collecting people’s teeth! Seriously, I thought this was gonna be a part of the game. And I’m anxiously anticipating it. :x
Oh well that’s sorted then! You say it must be so. So it must be so. Right?
Stating your opinion is fine. But to belittle other peoples’ valid concerns with suggesting their choice of headgear in such a way is immensely discourteous.
You may also like to do a little bit of homework before making strange claims in your posts.
e.g. Nexon are the majority shareholder (14.7%) in NCSoft. NCSoft own ArenaNet. ArenaNet make Guild Wars 2. I hope that the connection is clear to you.
You are aware that NCSoft is the publisher. They don’t own ArenaNet. ArenaNet as a developer has full control of the final say in their game. You should do a little bit of homework before making strange claims in your replies.
ArenaNet is a wholly owned subsidiary of NCSoft. :P
However, NCSoft for a long time has been seemingly hands off. Now that Nexon is the majority shareholder of NCSoft, (to my understanding) by proxy they have quite a bit of stake and control in what happens in ArenaNet and NCSoft.
I don’t want to believe that they’re intentionally muddying up our game for profits though. In my fan-boy mind, ArenaNet would rather mass-terminate their own jobs and become a 270 man team of unemployed, creative and talented people with a vision that remained intact rather than be the victim studio of corporate idiocy. And that all this fotm and gear treadmills stuff is a misunderstanding and everything will be alright.
I made an extensive post on MMORPG.com about this and I might make an edited one here explaining the same thing but what you’re very most likely looking at is a mini pet battle arena that hasn’t made it’ way into the game yet.
ArenaNet planned to release up to 30 of these cool activities you can do but only after got around to including 1. Hopefully we get more social features up and running though, because Keg Brawl’s so fun I’m just so excited for everything else.
Lieutenant “Online”
I love this guy; that cultural tier 2 looks amazing too. ^^
Man, I guess I missed this awesome battle at Valley Keep… now I’m sad, lol Looks like we held up though, great defending Fort Aspenwood.
Looking forward to another week. keep up the good fights.
Yak’s, you must be scared of TC or something because I’ve never even seen you make an attempt on or take a keep over there but that entire borderlands has turned all blue more than once this week because FA recognizes that the winning server should be focused on.
At what, 7 am? We don’t have people on then. When our people are on TC defends their border. You guys are terribad at defending your border. Might as well pick the low hanging fruit no?
A bit hard to defend your borderlands when both opposing servers are blitzing their respective sides simultaneously and apparently unhindered by the other server’s presence in the map. Was looking for those cross swords at greenlake or redbriar so that we could capitalize and counter on a split force but those never turned up for some reason. o.0
Yeah, that’s sort of how it goes on your own border. There’s little point to the back and forth between the attackers at the island, so you push north. At least until you take the keeps. The other two servers seem to be able to handle their defense just fine.
I think we’re all a little tired of this crying wolf over non existent double teams. This is the 4th or 5th time, beginning on page 1, that members of the FA server have whined on this thread over perceived double teaming and I think we’re all a little sick of it. Stop making excuses for having so much trouble on your border and step up your game if it bothers you.
I simply posted an observation. The thread can do without your antagonistic and condescending tone though, thanks. 0_o
Alright, let’s not get this thread closed so close to the reset, that’d be awefully shameful on part of all 3 servers.
Great fights this week, and absolutely close matchup. I missed some of the action due to some other commitments, but had lots of fun overall when I was online. Lots of respect to all the guys, TC, FA & YB equally. Looking forward to another week of this!
A.K.A. Was doing Fractals.
Jk lol, I agree, it was still a lot of fun and I think everyone on FA agrees that it’s much better to have to work harder for these fights than just roflstomping the tier 4-6 servers. Especially been fun fighting TC and those crazy tower trebs on the keeps earlier in the week.
Hopefully we in FA can work on more intra-server communication andI’m hoping to see the WvW populations kick up this next week cause there were some really boring points too. Looking forward to the fight next week. :-)

holy crap Yaks and Tarnish are really bent on collapsing in on our EB keep o_o
claiming SMC is like kicking a bee hive.Non-stop attacks ever since we got it.
They also decided to roll server deep in FA borderlands after we took SMC too :o
MEANWHILE Yak’s Bend’s entire borderlands was red with the exception of some blue supply camps, and Tarnished Coast’s entire borderlands was green also with the exception of blue…
I mean, I’m just saying… >.> Yak’s, you must be scared of TC or something because I’ve never even seen you make an attempt on or take a keep over there but that entire borderlands has turned all blue more than once this week because FA recognizes that the winning server should be focused on.
I’d hope to The Six Five Gods that our commanders haven’t and won’t in the future focus their efforts at taking down the second place opponent and cowering from the one in first in the event that we are trailing behind both.
Flipping Stonemist Castle to the server trailing farthest behind you is a very strategically sound decision to make and I agree, FA would have done the exact same thing in that position. But avoiding a Borderlands completely for the entirety of the week… es no bueno.
P.S. Kormir sucks.
It’s disheartening to see the commanders of great guilds come out and bash GODS too, remarking us as just a zerg guild when it’s simply not the case. Coordination between all of our guilds would be a far more valuable asset than coming onto the forums and playing the blame game just because we’re not in first place.
I’ve personally witnessed the amazing results that good coordination between these guilds forces can achieve so I don’t understand why any of you find it productive to, instead of talking to the commanders and leaders of this “uncoordinated zerg guild” to become more coordinated, come on here and say we’re going to lose because of them.
Hey,
I know that this probably isn’t a guild you may have had in mind on joining, but please considered joining my Keg Brawl guild, Brawl Capital [PUNT]!
Keg brawl’s an activity in the Norn Capital City of Hoelbrak and is really a lot of fun! It’s essentially rugby except with giant barrels of ale that you can bash people over the head with or pour out to slip them up on the ice.
Fewer people than you’d expect actually know about Keg Brawl and it sees limited participants a day. This guild would serve as a roster should you ever want to know who’d be interested in playing Keg Brawl with you… so only join if you do turn out to really enjoy the sport. :-)
Please PM me in game or on these forums if you’re interested.

Home World: None/Cross Server
Guild name: Brawl Capital [PUNT]
In-Game Contact: Serelisk
Focus: Keg Brawl (possibly other activities that are cross server down the road)
Quick Notes: It serves as a roster for players who enjoy Keg Brawl and can talk to/request game with others who also enjoy Keg Brawl.
Ohai!
I’m looking for more players to join Brawl Capital [PUNT]!
As hopefully all of you know, there exists inside the wonderful world of Tyria large, fantastical capital cities. And in these awesome capital cities are awesome activities! Or at least, there’s supposed to be. As in, more than 1 activity… plural… but there isn’t! [grumpy face] However, the one that DID make it into the game at launch is SUPER amazing! If you haven’t already, go check it out! It’s in the Norn capital city of Hoelbrak, by the frozen lake to the west.
For those of you that do know already and thoroughly enjoy the game, we’re looking for more players like you! There’s fewer people everyday who play through and enjoy this activity, it seems. So this guild serves as a roster for anyone looking for a list of potential players to PM and get into a game with. Players from ANY server are welcome as Keg Brawl is a cross server activity, and with a team neutral emblem, you can beat the other guys butt with style! The only requirement is that you represent the guild while you’re playing Keg Brawl! We’re the elite players at this sport and we want everyone else to know that too! So private message me in game or on this forum if you’re interested!
