Would be fun to have some sort of info on achievement tab that’d tell us when we had unlocked each achievement.

For example:
“Power Play”
Completed: 10.10.2013

Or something like that.

Very minor suggestion but it just crossed my mind when I was browsing through some of the older event related achievements we had last year such as the Shadow of the Mad King achievements.

Thank you so much for these new hairstyles. They are absolutely amazing!

Finally my female asura warrior got a hairstyle that fits with a tier 3 heavy cultural armor set (minus the helmet as it hides hair).

Also special thanks for adding the Lady Kasmeer’s and Marjory Delaqua’s hairstyles to the player hairstyle selection.

I’ve had so much fun this evening trying out the different hairstyles with pretty much all of my characters due to being lucky enough to have the permanent hairstyle kit.

So with the 1st of October patch the Boss Week achievements can no longer be achieved.

What about the Tequatl achievements? Are we still able to get “The Sunbringer” title after the patch?

Finally got the Light up the Darkness achievement!

Elementalist:
0/0/20/20/30 with IV,X for Earth | III, V for Water and V, VII, XI for Arcana

Scepter/Focus with superior sigil of air and energy

Some green armor with power, precision and cond damage stats with coral orbs
Orrian Truffle +40% endurance recovery food buff and some damage increasing nourishment

Glyph of Elemental Harmony, Arcane Shield, Arcane Blast, Signet of Air. Didn’t utilize my elite during the fight.

Basically this build allowed me to stay alive during the fight very easily and also granted me multiple ways to avoid damage or dodge stuff. For example focus skill 5 turns you invulnerable which is very useful in this fight.

Nothing special about the fight really. Only problem for me was the time. That is why I tried to damage the boss as much as possible while trying to collect the 8 orbs at the same time.

Phase 1: use focus skill 4 (air) to block projectiles and avoid stuff. Should be no problem to reach phase 2. Also use air skill 2 to destroy the rifts.

Phase 2: use earth skills and fire skills to damage the boss. Water skills can hinder the boss and same goes for air skills. Run around trying to avoid all damage and collect orbs when possible. Try to be fast and hopefully you can succeed.

I am quite pleased how this boss has turned out but there are few things that bug me in the fight:

*Certain ranged attacks getting obstructed when trying to hit the rifts
*Time limit
*Camera issues

The mechanics are fine, it is still very challenging to learn the mechanics and to adapt to them to stay alive but so far my only issue has been the time limit. I almost get the boss down but then the time limit happens.

I’ve tried multiple playstyles and mostly it comes down to the fact that a lot of my damage output is being blocked by the clones. Oh well, guess I just got to keep on trying or read some guides

edit: and finally managed to get the minipet. Now for the 8 orbs challenge ^^ Still think the time limit should be revamped for this boss (at least a bit) and the bugs should be fixed.

Reported this in game already.

Tried relogging, checked other characters (no mail there either), deleted old mail (no, I did not delete the mail if that’s what you’re wondering. I made sure of that) and restarted the game multiple times.

edit: though you get support tokens rather easily from doing the solo-instances so it’s not that big of a deal. Just didn’t manage to read the mail correctly so it would have been nice to be able to check the information in game from mail

Account Achievement reward system

Super excited for the upcoming patch! I doubt they’d go with the “reach X amount of achievement points to unlock Y” even though I personally wouldn’t have much trouble with this system (+9000 points) but more in the style “get all achievements in the fashion category to unlock a special back item” (a cape fit for an emperor, would be sweet!).

Regardless of how they decide to go with this it’s rather nice to see this type of an update

It would be a real shame to see this dungeon go away permanently. So I really hope they decide to just move it instead. Give access to this dungeon via Fractal portal or something (no reason to make it exactly part of fractals as it’s much longer and very different from the other small fractals).

This way the dungeon wouldn’t mess up the lore side of the game and yet people could enjoy this awesome piece of content even if they don’t have the time to do it right now. I know quite a few people that are rather busy because of the summer holidays and even few “hardcore” players that simply may miss the chance to get the difficult achievements because they simply do not have the time to complete them right now.

I know a two week period (if I didn’t check correctly please excuse me) is plenty of time to complete these achievements for a lot of players but it’d be nice if we had the chance to complete them even after the event. Difficult achievements are great but time limit on when to get them, not so much!

It’s good to hear that this thing got solved Accidents happen but we all learn from mistakes.

We use all available information, including player reports, when taking action on an account. Unfortunately not all detection methods and are perfect, and data can sometimes be misleading. This became readily clear to us when players began reporting that their accounts were being terminated after attempting to run the Metrica Province jumping puzzle.

After significant investigation, we were able to determine that a bug in the jumping puzzle itself was causing players to fall out of the intended boundaries of the puzzle. Due to this bug, there was an unintended side effect that caused false positives on an element of our malicious activity detection system. We have since identified players that were caught up in this false detection and have reinstated their accounts.

Hopefully this bug was fixed properly because I just did (or better say, still am doing) the jumping puzzle in question and I fell at one point at the jumping puzzle and was teleported to metrica provinence’s sky. Don’t remember this being a normal case so hopefully nothing goes wrong with your detector just because the game decided to introduce a bug >:(

Yeah haven’t heard anyone getting any recipes from either the rich coffers or regular coffers :/

Wish the rich coffers were actually worth it. Got 30 of them and only 1 rare (the knight mini) and after that I bought a lot of regular coffers from trading post and got 4 tickets, a dozen of those minipets and other stuff.

But yeah, either the recipes are very, very, very, very rare or they’re just not dropping just yet

In my opinion a simple (from a gamer’s point of view) solution to the entire “small guilds can’t do these things” would be to simply make Tier 1 Guild Missions very easy to unlock and make it so that everyone that helps out with completing the guild mission (ie. attacking the bounty target) regardless of whether they are part of the guild that started the event or not would get the item, guild commendation and gold rewards (with a weekly limit so “only” one reward per week regardless of how many times you helped with a mission).

In addition to that, in order for there to still be something for big guilds to chase Tier 2 and Tier 3 should be difficult to unlock but would give more rewards (possibly even more merit points than they currently give) but nothing too significant.

This way a) small guilds could help out each other to complete tier 1 missions b) nobody would be left out from the basic missions regardless of the size of the guild they are in c) big guilds would still get more benefits with the buffs and stuff that require merits and d) a lot of people would be happy because this’d support cooperation without making people to jump into very large guilds regardless of how they’d want to play.

There’s nothing wrong with large guilds and giving benefits for them but I’d hope that small guilds could still at least try the content. Surely a 20-man guild can’t complete a tier 3 bounty hunt by themselves (alliances would be awesome) but if they could at least try the easiest tier it’d be great.

^Not really if you’re playing Fractals at high level. As now you are abandoning possible extra agony resistance with magic find.

For other parts of the game, I don’t see that big of a problem with these new infusions. Especially when they take so long to earn

Endless griffon on 8th try. Endless doll on 31st try. Rather unlucky I’d say, but really wanted those 2 endless tonics. Materials cost me a bit more than 10g.

More likely the droprate is just very low (as expected, nothing wrong with that). Black Lion Chest keys work the same way, very low droprate (from mobs, seen few drops myself since launch) but they do definitely drop.

I wish it was that you could use 3x of any combination of festive minis + stuffing instead of 1 of each.

edit: it seems that the post above was incorrect. Three of the same festive minipets + 50 stuffing does work. Just crafted my Quaggan with 3x Infi mini + 50 Stuffing \o/

Wintersday Items in Black Lion Chests?

Did a small test with around 7 keys and got nothing event related. However, like the patch notes said, the drops have been updated. For example I got few guild influence items amongst other regular things.

And I personally doubt the Black Lion Chests are dropping anything Wintersday related as we already have the separate wintersday gifts available on the gem store.

It is enough to just keep the boss far enough from the boss so that she won’t run into the fire wall before the flames are out as the fire won’t go off the moment the boss has been defeated. But yeah the problem is that if the NPC for some reason just decides to run to the fire shield after boss is dead the progress may be blocked.

Ok just an update. So, some days ago me and my group got to the last boss of Arah path 1 and the npc died after boss was defeated (to the instakill fire aura) and this caused that the npc didn’t proceed to open the final door.

So, today I tried the path again and found an awesome group that finished the path in a good time and this time we secured the npc so that she wouldn’t die to the boss during the fight or after the fight and this time everything worked out just fine.

So it seems that it is indeed a bug where the NPC won’t open the door if she dies during/after the boss fight. So, I’d advise people to make sure that the NPC is safe during the final boss battle, just to avoid possible problems

Has anyone completed path 1 lately with success? Would be interested in completing this path but would like to know for sure that keeping the NPC alive during the boss fight is enough to make the ending be played out correctly.

Had this bug on my run and the NPC did die after the boss was defeated so it looks that this is what’s causing the bug.

My group came across this bug a day ago, the NPC died to the boss’ fire aoe ring. The NPC, however, has dialogue options that makes it seem like she made it to the final room.

Is there any workaround to this bug? Would really want to finish this path as it’s the only thing I need for my dungeon master title

Just wanted to give an update as my case was just recently resolved. I thank Anet’s support for great support even though there was some delay between respond times (for understandable reasons, as they surely are busy). Haven’t had any other real problems in the game and hopefully the situation won’t change in the future

It is entirely understandable that they want to be absolutely sure that this is a real issue and not just an user error before they spend developers’ valuable time on this problem. However, in my (and many other people’s cases) situation it is definitely not an user error.

In short; tried to exchange gold to gems on 20th of August. BLTP gave a “failure” error and trade seemed to have just stopped. However, later on the amount of gold I tried to exchange was gone but no gems were added to my account. Gold nor gems were nowehere to be found.

Checked every character I have; logged in and out many, many times and it has been a lot more than 48 hours at this point.

I’ll post some tips again, because they helped a LOT of players, and also share some info. Your gold is not across your account, but on each character. Sometimes when a player looks in each character individually he/she finds the “missing” gold on another character. I hope you’ll give this a try.

Additionally, what we’re finding is that sometimes there is lag in a transaction — not just a few seconds, but occasionally an hour or more! So before assuming that the issue is permanent:

  • Check all your characters.
  • Log out of the game completely.
  • Check again several hours later.
  • Be aware that even if you cancel a transaction, you will still be dinged for the 15% fee, so that that into account when calculating what you should have.

Having said all that, we should be able to look at logs and see if we can figure out what happened. But the reason I’m offering the suggestions above is that we’ve done some of that research and we’ve found the player got his gold or stuff and all is well. So I’d like to be sure I don’t ask for dev time unless there’s a real issue.

I’ll speak with our expert on this subject and get an update on this.

On 20th of August I tried to exchange gold to gems via the Black Lion Trading Post currency exchange option. I tried to exchange around 6 gold to gems and once I tried to press the “trade” button it gave me a “failure” error. No gold was removed from my inventory at that point nor did the game add me any gems. So I thought everything was fine and nothing happened.

However, later on I logged in and saw that the gold amount that I was trying to exchanged had been removed from me. I then proceeded to check if I had received the gems I was trying to get. No gems to be found.

The missing gold was nowhere to be found either. I checked my every character and none of those had the gold. Gold was not in the bank either. I have tried to check every possible solution but nothing seems to help. The amount of gold I tried to exchange for gems was just suddenly missing without giving anything in return.

If there is a delay between gems being added to account then the delay must be huge as it’s been a lot more than 24 hours since this happened.
