all of you know that cities in generall can still act like before despite beeing turned into rubble right? because if the lionguard refers to lions arch then its mroe to its goverment rather then the actual city. because a city in itself does not trade, the goverment does. the goverment of LA is the captains council. they do the trading, they handle the legel things.
also it´s even more important now that the lionguard and the gioverment of LA get the supplies from the hearts quests all over the world. they need to strike back. thats why evon ended up a supply deputiy.

another update NO RESOLUTION of this problem in the patch notes. anet you ahve one job make my shoulder look right. I WILL UNSUSBSCRIBE………………..wait

still rboken don´t care for charr atm. charrs palyers get a charr cultural for now. if fixing your issue means making new ones for others its not worth it. i want my normal hotw shoulder back. if you ahve to static the should then jsut on charrs not everyone kitten

It’s ironic that while Kiel is ordering the Lionguard to plunder Evon’s supplies, she is far outside the city delegating other people to risk their lives. Why isn’t she in the city, protecting it like we are? Evon ironically seems closer to the action than she is, and he’s but a humble merchant. I guess she doesn’t want to get her hands more dirty than they already are.

maybe she is flying in the kittening airship she took from marin and fights the aetherbalde airshipS MAYBE? I did follow the Dolyaks, I have multiple times now and have yet to see Evon. I’ve even rushed to do the first dolyak event and still he isn’t there. Can someone full screen shot it because if I don’t have proof then all it is currently is a nice photoshop job of some made up dialogue.

about the shoulder, they made it a solid static size now.. So that does fits much better on charr, because before the shoulder get some weird shapes.

About the left shoulders clipping in armor is something i made a topic about also. Because all shoulders on charr and norn have this bug where the left shoulder sits lower and closer to the head.

that problem is since day 1 and still not fixed for all shoulders om charr and norn.

i saw a fully power structure norn with it. it look even more horrid then before. and kitten thats not the way to do. you do not fix somethign by kittenign up on another place. human shoulder are kittened now and if they don´t fix it i need to find a new armor and buy kittening transmorph stones.

Indeed, and its been since day 1 where the left shoulder always sits lower and closer to the head where you get allot of clipping problems.

This happens on all shoulders for charr and norn.
They could easily fix this and we have so much clipping problems solved at once

i meant that the different hight of shoulders on norn males is intended that they not stand like candle straight but their shoudler are a bit shifted more relaxed

this rather a problem with your graphix card rather then the game. or evne your CPU. my CPU was glowing heat hot and kind melted when such bugs happend in my old comuter.

I think you guys are largely forgetting the premise upon which politics in LA has always been founded since it’s rebuilding: mercantilism and piracy. They do good things for the city because it, in-turn, benefits them. It’s why LA has a bank, and why it has a lot of things that we now take for granted (lore-wise). Of course Evon would be self-serving as a leader on the council, he bloody well should be. In looking out for himself, he’d have fought to look out for everyone else because that would be in his best financial interests. Because he’s not on the council, though, things are very different and he is neither obligated to support the city nor should he care. He is trying to tear Kiel down for her failing and wants to get himself on the council so he can turn the financial distress Kiel is causing him into financial gain, which simultaneously would help Lion’s Arch out a lot. It’s a whole different world in LA compared to real world politics, and to treat them or the leaders the same is naive (don’t be naive!).

This isn’t the U S of A we’re talking about, this is the L A. Please remember that crucial distinction.

the whole living story needs a mayor overhaul or atleast a important addition.
from the very start we should gotten next to the usual achivment grind one or two maybe even three small quest that are investigating the reasons behind certain aspects of the living story. actauly story in shourt. through this we could have gotten a side story to figure out WHO is behhind all of this (scarlet did it) we would have learn her motivations, we would learned the reason behind alliances that jsut seem implausible concidering certain races racistic backrounds 8krait would have normaly never teamed up with ANY ONE) and we didn´t had scarlet thrown in in every single scenery. giving the story missions a slight lichking vibe, scarlet is always emntioned in reports or early on we get directions pointed at her and then made a constant persuit of her, thing that get more personal then the masses running around killing kitten.
im not really sure though if those missions need to be part of the meta game since unfortunatly there are people not caring about story att all and would critizise the decision.
how ever future LS updates need more then jsut an introduction mission. they need missions throughout the update for the story to evole naturaly instead of just the usual: this happedn do this, small grind do dougnen end story part.

also as a perosnal note: scarlet never needed her doin all collages…..i mean it would be plausible within in the universe of GW2 that she would have gotten all her knwoledge from that peak into the mist/eternal alchemie. why the learn everything before hand.
scarlet would have been much more interesting if she was MORE of a normal sylvari ( imtalking about the player ones not threlame or anything) where she jsut didn´t cared about her dream but and so never followed any order, because she was way to curious to dedicate her live to one thing. a typical sylvari, wonderous and unaturaly curious.

Thank you, but I’m afraid you’ve missed the mark. As you can see, the “we” in the title refers to the many who have posted here expressing their dislike of Scarlet Briar. There are a significant amount of players who are giving good, constructive feedback which, hopefully, ArenaNet is reading (I always assume they are).

Whether players like her whole package or find her story unrelatable, the sort of feedback presented here hopefully serves as a good mark for developers to process and adjust to keep their audience satisfied.

To summarize this thread (up to this point), the majority of posters, both lovers and haters of Scarlet, feel that her popping up in everything is becoming overly redundant.

I do still mind it, but for a different reasons. You mind the “Scarlet”-part of Scarlet did it. I mind the “it”. She didn’t do anything of significance. Except maaaaybe the reactor, since that directly impacts me. But in a positive way, it gave me a pretty nifty dungeon.
She needs to actually do something. Appear randomly and tranq-dart people, mid-dungeon-fight. Now there’s a way to get players angry and – more importantly – make them care for removing the villain.

The election to decide which fractal to make wasn’t held until much later. So, there’s no way this could have been an important part of her story all along, unless ANet had no intention of letting the other fractal get made.

So, which is it? Are they just adding her in where ever they can now, even though it’s not really part of her story? Or did they plan to make this fractal all along to tell an important part of her story, meaning that the election was a sham?

It´s was not a bad angle from most theorist to assume to find out somethign about the actaul first villians of this game msot people don´t remember: the dragons. they disrupt the flow of magic, gorr madea theory in the perosnal story line and proofed it. makign the reactor a disaster because of them would have been much more reasonable as a story and much better for GW2s development as a whole. i mean we lsot complete focus on the dragons…….we have to go to the next one kitten it. this was the perfect timing to do so. but NOPE SCARLET DID IT.
and i bet scarlet would somehow involved with abbadon aswell

3. and moffat said they never gonna rbign up any classic in the 50th anniversary, there would be no peter capaldi in that, there would be this and that not there.

They don’t want to do this to the system, as it would make future player choices seem less important if both sides could eventually come true.

Since my last post due to flavor text and people who don´t bother to read what important I open this thread only for suggestions for the in the title stated purpose.

Rules:
1: It must be rewarding for BOTH sides, Runner on Level 80 AND those above 35 but under 80.

2: If loot or anything sellable is involved in your idea, it shoudl NOT throw the in game economy over.

3: You can leave fracle out of it completly. Even Level 1 fracs can be quiete a challange. Only stationary doungen should be adressed, since they can provide as perfect preperation for the Fractles.

4 AND MOST IMPORTANT ONE:
DO NOT ARGUE WHY RUNNERS DON`T BRING ALONG LOW LEVELs. It goes nowhere as my previewous thread as proofen (unfortunatly). So, PLEASE, keep discussions on HOW to improof your ideas to make it more attractiv.

Its wonderful to ee depsite me saying that it doesn´t make sense to argue, since everybody has their own opinion, everbyody argues about that instead of offering some ideas how it might work out anyway.
A-Net showed with the upgrade world boss that they want team work and tactics rather jsut gear and “piniata smash the boss” gameplay in pve.
All i wanted is for YOU to discuss HOW A-Net can do that with the rest of the allready existing content known as doungens.

Dude it takes like a week to get to 80.

I don´t know if you are an adult goin work, a highschool student or goin to middle school or what ever.
But i can tell you that making 80 levels in one week required either way to specific ways of doin so OR much time investment, which most poeple can not effort due to time constrains or other reasons.

further more it was not entirly based on gain Exp to level, as i stated it helps for exsample newcomers or people who play a new class to get used to that class in circumstances given by doungens.
It also will help the doungen farmers in a long term, because if Low Level learn the doungens NOW they will be MORE doungen farmers at level 80 later on.
I´ve seen enough 80s who had NO idea whats the hell was goin on due to lack of knowledge.
Also this game is based on team work. What team is that if you exclude everyone who has a,lower level then you? specialy in areas where they allready met all requirments nessecary?

Most of you might not know this problem since you either farm the LS or complain on this forum about the LS.
But since the rewards for the doungen have been changed a big problem showed up: The CoF farmer spreading to the other doungens.

Wait, you think its a blessing because now it´s easier to find groups via LFG.com?

then let me ask you a counter question: What level does you toon has when you do doungens?
I bet it´s 80 am i right? Even Ac which only requires lvl 35, right?

Well try to find a group with 35 up to 79.
I can tell you 70% of all groups you find on LFG.com want only 80s in their groups.
Even for AC. Because of fast runs.

Some of you mihgt now want to argue that its always faster with 80s.
And I will argue that afew guys on this forum allready found out that low level actually make slightly more dmg then 80s.

So to stop a fight, we will not argue about effectivity in doungen due to level, because seriously, if the guy behind the toon knows what he does, he is more valuable then jsut a obitrary number above your toon.

And I get those elitist deleted due to extended cursing involving a banana people will not change their mind because rather enjoying their game they want to have everythign as fast as possible.

So i think we shouldn´t fight if this is a problem or not (because it is) and rahter come up with ideas HOW A-Net can make it more attractiv to those……people to bring along one or two low level players.

One Idea could be a daily reward, which provides extra loot, like High rank mats with a low fair chance for ascended mats.
Or even a gold boost or other things those-….people want.
We could call it the doungen mentor reward or something.

This way both parties get something out of it:
Low Lvl and/or new comers to the game can do doungens, get exp ingame and for mechanics in game (seriously playing doungen helps to understand your class way better then questing so why pass on it?) and their reward in the end.
80s get their farming reward AND some in addition if they bring low Lvl with them, even though it might took 5 or 20 minutes longer.

washed out quality of the colors, the way topenetrant red on the handles (the first batch didn´t had so much red, lack of quality in design and the overall presentation.

this is what i hiope ascended gear will be:
exsample with a greatsword

an ascended zerker GS thats has the same stats as an exotic zerker GS with a Rubyball + an infusion spot.

now with this there could be great farming and trading potential.
because now for EACH POSSIBLE WEAPON UPGRADE ther must be ascended version of it.
to find the one you want as ascended would take a long time to find. it would make those weapons also alot more expensive, and maybe exotics more aquiarble for those with less gold, giving them the opportunity to join later fractals much better.

like this i could easily see ascended gear ranking around triple digit goldnumbers and exotics (except for rare skins and presecutors) drop to low fair prizes.

like this the eectronicl kitten of 24/7 farmer and fractales grinder remains but casuals get the same gear for the rest of pve.

the same concept can then be later used for armor aswell. ( including a fractal armor)

I guess it’s not Logan Thackeray walking into a bar in full battle regalia, trying to clandestinely contract a pseudo-noir private investigator and going ‘No names, I was never here’ like he’s not one of the most recognizable people in the city especially with that armor on trying to secretively chat up some chick with floofy shoulderpads and a woman with more of her dress floating in shreds than covering her skin in a dive bar. Not setting the bar high there, of course.

Or what’s-her-name, the one in charge of the watchknight battle with Logan, deciding that a fitting ‘last opponent’ for the demonstraton was, specifically, Rytlock…and here I could’ve sworn that the Queen had, not five minutes before, said the demonstration would be of the might of Kryta’s champions against its most steadfast foes (including, apparently, the quaggans?). Not like they’re trying to build a peace with Rytlock’s people at all, one that could be put in jeopardy by implying that one of the most well-known Charr around is a foe of Kryta by using him as an opponent after that speech.
Bit reminiscent of Eir Stegalkin deciding that the best way to get Logan and Rytlock off each other’s throats was to put Rytlock’s home at stake by stomping down into the Ascalonian Catacombs to get Logan, somebody Rytlock already has a grudge against, a fancy sword to match Rytlock’s, really.
I half-expect there to be a war on the horizon triggered by everybody but Rytlock and Logan trying to do anything regarding the pair. Is that where this is all heading? ‘cause that’d actually, all sarcasm and snark aside, be hilarious.
I think I might actually like that bit of Living Story if that were to actually happen. Well, I would if they decided to comment on how they actually are quite content to just stay the hell away from each other, but everybody else seems to want to push them into conflict. Scarlet, like she calls herself now, is somewhat of a different person after seeing these powers; perhaps she took over one of the god’s powers like Kormir? Kormir acted like a new person after she took Abaddon’s powers, almost not even recognizing her own name it seemed.

Sylvari have a bioluminescent glow. I think it’s just referring to the fact that she used to have a golden glow, but changed it to crimson after awakening to reflect her new self.

The story on that part is talking about when Scarlet saw the Eternal Alchemy; an asura in game (the one that helps you into Scarlet’s Playhouse I think) mentions that Scarlet claims to have seen the Eternal Alchemy, and that’s what the beginning of this short story is talking about.

Another asura from 100’s of years ago (named Kerrsh) came to understand that all of the gods and other things worshipped were part of the Eternal Alchemy; it’s likely Scarlet saw this as well.

well asura allways predicted thakittens even in the manuell. but the glow the story mentioned has good connections to kormir anyways.
kormir is the god of truth with the power immortality AND MSOT IMPORTANTLY KNOWLEDGE of abbadon.
abbadon wa the god of secrets, he drove the three major villians crazy with his touch, the nowledge he had presented it self in twisting images, pain, suffering and madness in the realm of tournment.
scarlet has seen secrets far beyound a mortal beeing should comprehend. her mortality drove her crazy with the knowledge of everything, she suffered and expirienced the great amoutn of pain there is.
from this angle scarlet could not jsut be a filler villian.. she could end up the real end villian at the end. she might threaten to collaps the pillar of reality and we have to stop her.

the update brought other problem aswell. the doungen rewards lured the lvl 80 elitist to the other doungen rather then jsut cof. even though low level DO effectivly more then 80s in dmg (which is unfortunatly the only thing that matters atm) YES they do. 80 do under the cut LESS dmg then lower levels.

[b]The more I think about the college situation, I realize why it bothers me so much.

It was the asura’s thing. Every race has their thing, that one element that’s unique to them and no one else. Every sylvari is born under a certain time/has their dream, the norn have their spirits/legend, the charr have their unique warband/fahrar system, and the humans have their class stratification (and the whole history of GW1 with the white mantle). For the asura, it was the colleges and their personal invention. And now we don’t have one of those. What’s the thing that’s unique to the race in a cultural/racial sense that the others don’t have and can’t achieve?

Why not just give out the asura racial skills to everyone else? It’s nothing that’s inherent to them, you just have to be smart, and anyone can be smart and attend the colleges. I guess I always saw the colleges as more Hogwarts than Harvard. I know the asura are kind of the “joke” race, but with this information they really DO start to feel like a joke. More of an excuse to have cool stuff in the game than as an actual culture with something unique to them.

I think I’m extra sore about this because I feel like the asura just haven’t been getting any love lately. They’re put in the living story when something needs to be analyzed or wacky scientific shenanigans but there’s really no need for that now. Why not just get a human/sylvari/norn/charr who’s gone to the colleges to fill the role that Vorpp or Dessa or Levvi have?

This also brings up the problem of what happens when you build a race on the premise that they’re all hyper intelligent. That’s not something that’s really unique or special. Anyone from any race can be a genius, and maybe that’s why a lot of people don’t see non-asura getting into the colleges as a big deal. But the way the race has been constructed by Anet, its a HUGE deal.

Everything that we see about asura in the game revolves around their intelligence and the colleges. It’s the second line you hear an asura character say in the creation intro: “I am asura. I personify genius.” Well, anyone from any race can do that, and now that Anet has confirmed it, it feels like a really silly line.

Right now asura are the only race in the game that you can substitute any race for in both their personal story and racial skills and it works. A charr could be the Snaff Savant, a human can create the Infinity Ball. There’s nothing racially specific about summoning a golem, and the other skills fit with the mesmer or engineer professions. The only thing that bars this from happening are in game mechanics. It does open up the story and background possibilities for others, but it feels like asura lost something in the process.

From an in game standpoint, everything that I’ve seen gave me the impression that the Council would bar non-asura from the colleges for purely selfish reasons. After all, they were willing to keep vital information on the Elder Dragons to themselves to get a leg up on the rest of Tyria. It seems odd they’d be willing to share asuran knowledge to outsiders at all (for extra clarification, I think its entirely plausible that any of the other races are intelligent enough to get into the colleges; its just the Council’s selfish whims is what would keep them out. Thinking on this more, I wouldn’t be surprised if the Council devised some version of Jim Crow tests for other races to prove that they simply weren’t smart enough to attend in the guise of fairness)

I still love the asura from an aesthetic pov, but I really wish they had more development from a cultural standpoint. I want to see more asura get outside the genius box and show that they’re more than the role Anet has given to them in the game. I want to see an asura fashonista. I want to see an asura who’s a master chef. Right now all the emphasis is on asura intelligence and nothing else, so when that’s shown to be in jeopardy, it throws a wrench in the works. I hope Anet just gives them something that lets them stand a part from the other races.

And to be extra clear, I have no problem with lore changing or not being what I thought it was. In this instance it feels like it changed for the worse, with nothing to balance it out. I’m not angry at Anet or demanding they change it. I can accept that this is the way it is now, but I can still be bothered by it. [/b]
