Something I found useful when you’re engaging a guardian with aegis up, you can put basi venom on and throw dancing dagger, then teleport in with infiltrators signet and auto attack to break aegis before the projectile hits. The basi venom will be on the dancing dagger so it saves you having to break aegis, do the venom animation and then attack.

Oh that is interesting o.o I could give it a try although i think its easier to just throw a dancing dagger then turn on basilisk xD

Good vids as always Mugi. What’s your crit damage and power at? I’m at 106% crit damage and I feel like I don’t get as high numbers as you on backstabs. Maybe I just attack zergs too much so they’re tankier.

This time I solo roam and do outnumbered fighting without my team. Just your typical backstab thief.

So I transfered to IOJ off of the hell hole that was blackgate. It’s been pretty nice so far and I’ve seen some good fights, but I ran into some creepy stalkers from an NSP guild named os…

I was streaming as always and got zerged and /sat on. I invited them to party and they admitted to stream sniping me and hunting me down (pretty kittening pathetic to begin with). After that they started trolling my twitch chat of 150 kittening people. I would ban them and they would create new accounts just to try to troll. Honestly? How sad is that?

Their names were Kevin Mr Pally, Otters and Chimplicity. All from Os. A guy named roadnurse joined in as well.

All I want is for them to stop acting like a bunch of god kitten twelve year olds trying to troll people for attention. Don’t give a kitten if they stream snipe me, it happens all the time. If they want attention then I’d rather have them try to hunt me down and actually fight instead of trying to troll my chat.

Wow your ego could fill up a server and make it queue by yourself O_O. You got ganked. This happens when you’re not on queuegate. Man up, and fight better. I’m sure all 3 of your viewers were upset, but I’m sure your mum was able to get over and watch you try harder next time.

I can’t wait to see what happens when you run into SPCA or an organized roaming group. THE FORUM IS NOT READY!

Also, I ran into you yesterday in WvW on my engg outside of ogrewatch in EBG. You stabbed me and I ran away… it was about 5 seconds in a somewhat disorganized group skirmish, but I recognized your outfit from the video.

I run a similar spec, although less berserker’s and more valkyrie’s. I also use d/d with shortbow since I feel really uncomfortable without the bow.

Have you considered runes of the traveller instead of divinity? That +25% speed boost would help out, especially since you don’t have shortbow, although I guess if you’re focused on team play it might not be that vital. I went with eagle runes on my d/d thief.

Nice video though, wish I was that good on my thief.

EDIT: Also, that poor uplevel ele… kept trying to help out his guys and kept getting 1 shotted with a backstab.

That’s exactly it I don’t use travelers because i’m focused on team play and I feel it’s not necessary for me to move faster.

Nice video, but I’m a bit surprised by your build and gear choices.

Mug really isn’t that great a trait anymore after it can’t crit and while I can understand getting it for the extra Power, I’m not sure it’s worth it.

It would seem like 50% more speed during stealth might be more valuable.

I also don’t understand choosing Divinity Runes considering how poorly “all stats” perform for Thieves. Surely Ruby Orbs would be a better choice. Same Crit-Damage and much more Power and Precision for a fraction of the price.

which is also why I don’t run 50% movement speed in stealth. Ruby orbs are a good option as well but i chose divinity not just because of the crit damage but because the +60 extra stat to stats such as vitality and toughness, every little bit helps. Mug isn’t that great as it used to be but I still run it for the extra damage, and I usually use mug after i turn on basilisk to start off the stun because it rarely misses. Although it’s not huge it is some form of damage and on average i’ve seen it do around 2000 damage which is decent imo. Nonetheless it’s all preference.

My latest video is out which also shows my gear and build if you guys want to check it out. I play as a team and not solo, I rely on my party members to tank/provide boons etc to help me survive and do high burst damage.

Do you have any trouble with heartseeker + infiltrators signet/steal, I find it sometimes locks me in place after the tele if I use it during the heartseeker leap and doesn’t connect to my target if they’re moving.

To be honest i havn’t payed attention, i can’t recall being locked in place after using that. Only problem i run into is if i use heartseeker + infilttrators signet + steal, i get rubber banded. Other than that i don’t get locked into place.

Good stuff! Picked up a few tricks I didn’t know about.
On a different note, the more I play and level my thief, the more I like the tactics needed to successfully engage and adversary and to survive. You really have to be on your toes and react correctly or it’s “Game Over Man!”

Joe’s into Christian rock. He probably uses Self-Regulating Defense in the Alchemy tree that uses Elixir S (which shrinks you and makes you invulnerable).

Well played, no doubt, but aren’t you just abusing the Iron Hide bug that was active for a few days? It provides you with 50% damage reduction and it seems to be active all the time in the video.

Iron hide? Are you mistaking that blue icon to be my Applied Fortitude buff? I don’t have any WvW points put into flame ram mastery so I have no idea why I would have the iron hide buff. Applied Fortitude gives me extra vitality thats all.

First of all I would like to say that I find solo roaming to be very boring, I prefer fighting with a small group of around 5 people. But this does not mean I hate watching all of you solo roamers.

With that said, I run a high burst d/d thief (10/30/30/0/0) and I usually roam with a few of my friends. My main role in group play is to deal heavy burst to targets one by one as fast and efficiently as possible (applying constant pressure as well), then getting the stealth stomps off as. Basically, I do the most damage and spike most of the downed players. Yes, this play style is really selfish as it does not provide support to your teammates besides providing stealth. But if your group has no problem with you running it because you play it so effectively then why not do it?

To answer any thieves out there wondering if D/D is viable in a team composition, yes it is imo. You just gotta know how to play it. Anyone can copy a build, how you play the class is what defines how good and effective you are.

Here is a video showing me and two of my fellow tM guild members fighting outnumbered in WvW. I’m not the best but I try. Any feedback I would gladly like to hear because i’m always looking to become better. (pss don’t tell me to play d/p -_-)

I’m sorry about spawn camping (Star Player told me there was some grief about that ^^‘) but lets be fair, there are 3 ways out of the spawn, you didn’t have to come rush into the balistas :P and while i did that our keeps upgrade so … why not do it ^^

Btw you should have showed all the fights we had mugi, it was a lot of fun, and yes i’m not a very good havok fighter xD i learned a lot from you guyz.
