I fail to see how this new gear impact WvW. Isn’t WvW inherently imbalance (tower/keep positions depending which color you are, enough gold to buy commander tag, lvl 10 vs lvl 80 in terms if gear/traits, population, time coverage like US vs Oceanic, etc)? If you truly want a fair fight, may be you should do spvp. There will never be a fair fight in WvW.

I find this to be pretty sad.

Warrior Hammer:
1st Attack
Dmg: 746
Range: 130

2nd Attack
Dmg: 746
Range: 130

3rd Attack
Dmg: 995
Range: 130
-Final attack does no special abilities / no combo finisher.

Ele Hammer:

1st Attack
Dmg: 820
Range: 150

2nd Attack
Dmg: 820
Range: 150

3rd Attack
Dmg: 1342
Range: 150
-Blinds enemies that are hit by the attack
-Is a combo finisher (blast)


TLDR:
Why is an Ele utility better than a primary Warrior weapon?
-Ele Deals more Damage.
-Ele brings more utility (AoE stun field?!, AoE lightning storm?!).
-Ele has a longer range.
-Ele has a combo finisher and special boon on the third swing.

I’m not saying Ele’s should even use this, I’m saying that the Warrior hammer is just worse.

The answer to your question is:

1: We lose a sigil on equiping a conjure weapon.
2: We need to slot a utility skill to conjure a weapon.
3: We have the lowest HP and Armor in the game so our abilities are better to compensate.
4: Warrior burst is an range AOE stun.

Also, to void your statement that Ele’s damage is higher, did you factor in your Signet of Rage which is up most of the time? How about your higher crit? You need to take a holistic view of both classes and not pick and choose “numbers” to spin it in your favor.

Last but not least. Quit QQing and go play a conjure hammer ele.

Only a 2% stat bonus? Its effects on WvW.

Your conclusion is flawed based on the unrealistic peramaeters you sets. We all know WvW is chaotic with ever changing variables. Setting assumptions on something you know to be flaw is intentionally attempting to construe the conclusion/results.

WvW isn’t about Redcoats lining up in formation and exchanging fire and you know that. A 2% increase in stats is meaningless. It’s basically someone with a Teiforge pendant vs someone who doesn’t have it.

What happens to the unlucky ones?

It’s a slippery slope for Anet from here on. They will have to nerfing legendary materials.

Before, you had 10 people crafting the Twilight. With upcoming patch, that number might become 100 or 1000. But guess what? There’s only 200 Onyx Lodestone and 400 Charge Lodestone for sale. They just f’d the market since your increasing demand for these items without addressing the supply issue.

With the introduction if Ascended gears, the Legendary will be boosted to exceed Ascended stats as it is considered BIS. My question is, will hard to craft items like the Foefire or Triforge Pendant be boosted to Ascended level?

Is a level 1 in wvw on the same playing field as a lvl 80? No.

Frankly, this shows a lack of appreciation for the finer points of WvW.

Same lack of understanding that defined how op the orbs where.

What finer points in Wvw are you talking about? 1v1 and roaming in a small group? Sorry but class/traits are more important in those situations. Stats is just the icing on the cake.

Regarding the orb statement, it’s not the stats that OP. it is the perception that OP. omg they have 3 orbs!!! They are toooo powerful now! Their level is over 9000! I’m not going out there. It’s hopeless /sad face

Actually, by reading that quote in OP, it sounds like this new gear will be exclusively for this new dungeon. May be wishful thinking though.

ascended gear can’t be slotted with runes or sigils.

This exactly. Look at the stats given by the new Ascended gear in the image below. At first glance this appears to be a considerable upgrade from Exotic gear, but once you factor in that the slot on the Ascended gear cannot have Jewels, Runes or Sigils on it it is actually only a difference of 5 points in Power and Precision (less than 1% crit chance different) from Exotic gear assuming the infusion slot does not carry stats with it. From the sound of the blog post the infusion slot is to deal specifically with Agony, or monsters that cause Agony, which implies that they won’t carry excessive stats. If this is the case the stat upgrade is extremely minor, and when compared to what you are losing in customization it may well not be worth it to upgrade for WvW.

Additionally, it’s been confirmed that this new tier of items can be crafted in the mystic forge, which is present in WvW. If you really want the stat upgrade you can upgrade using the mystic forges located in SMC and the Garrison in each of the borderlands. .

Please look at the stats again. Total Power/Prec/etc isnt important. It is the 10% magic find that bothers me. Thats 3% more so a Berserk ring would have 10% crit dmg. Usually the amulet have more “%” stat on it so you’re talking about a 20%+ more to crit dmg with rings/earrings/amulet/back combine.

Most people like to max/min and a 20% additional crit dmg is hard to pass by…

This is assuming prec/crit stats will be part of the ascended gear.

RNG is awesome because some players have wasted a ton of real life money to buy Gem in exchange gold. Ultimately, the cash shop funds content updates for all players.

Love it or not; this is how Free to Play with Cash Shop model works.

WvW Turtling - Intended or Not?

Turtling by itself isn’t game breaking. If a large group want to hold a position, let them. When you’re turtling, you are immobile and even with the 5 hit limit of aoe, you can still kill them with siege and assist.

However, when you combine this tactic with Mesmer portal, the seemingly immobile Zerg can move freely around faster than anyone while gaining benefits from culling issue.

In my opinion, they won’t do anything about Turtling but they may nerf portal. I’m assuming, since balance is cater around tpvp, they will limit it to 5 ppl per portal use.

Do traits that trigger an ability when certain thing happens, set the same ability you have on a skillbar on CD?

I think if you activate endure pain before 25% health, the trait will not go off due to internal cool down. I’m not 100% sure and need further testing.

Yes!!!

Just like shadow warriors in Warhammer Online. They suck monkey balls at release then suddenly after 3 years, they became the most OP range class!
