I guess they thought that could be misleading, considering you already fight them during the festival quests and now they’re worshipping their celestial inside the monestary? Kinda weird.
You’re right about Abaddon having a predecessor. But the question is, did he supplant him after he arrived on Tyria or before that time? Dwayna and the other gods most likely had predecessors too before they arrived on Tyria.
So while we cannot say for sure that Abaddon and Lyssa came to Tyria, they must have come from somewhere. If Dwayna was the first god(dess) to arrive, Lyssa and Abaddon must have come after. Or else Lyssa could have never been in Wren and Abaddon never in the Crystal Desert.
TBH I think they just lacked the models for regular snakes so they took the krait ones (The celestial snake was made with all the other celestial models when CNY was first introduced).
4/10 Ele Lady – I’m sorry but that’s neither creative or immersive lol.
Selena Tucagon (Ancestor of Lysdea Tukagon from GW1 (ancient ascalonian family)).
Also you should write that only five gods came to Tyria. Also it was not Grenth but Dhuum and Abaddon (instead of Kormir) who made up the original six gods. I don’t think the origin of Dhuum/Abaddon is known, so only Dwayna, Melandru, Balthazar and Lyssa “came” to Tyria. Grenth was born on Tyria by Dwayna.
This would incorporate somewhat of a ‘pay2win’ aspect into world vs world, and that’s always dangerous with PvP.
Increasing the droprate is completely unnecessary in this case. Crystalline Dust and Ancient Bones have roughly the same supply rate: ridiculously high. Seriously, go farm events in Cursed Shore; you’ll have so many Dust-dropping mobs running at you it isn’t even funny.
This changed with the new patch. Risen now drop various T6 mats and more bags, apparently at the expense of bone and dust. Which means the supply of bone and dust has dramatically decreased.
The problem is that crystalline dust has a special status among T6 mats because of its prevalent use in the Mystic Forge. So now the Mystic Forge recipes are becoming broken.
Market data suggests otherwise.
Aaaand we’re dominating them again. Surprise.
I have taken the time and effort to find this video that describes exactly how to play when in WvW and it comes down to Zerg vs. Zerg. Please bear in mind it is quite a complex video and includes all the highly tactical information that can be found in Tier 1 match-ups.
Your welcome!
Lol, nice Ascii!
That is exactly the difference between a PUG zerg and a organized guild zerg.
And I was hoping for an actual tactics video ~.~
Was still funny though.
They get a huge amount of ore from Iron Marches and other charr zones, where they have dredge and others working as slaves.
Hmm ok looks like I heard an ‘r’ there cause the t from not sorta blends in with next word. You are right, go makes more sense. I guess it is right then.
You know what the fight against Zhaitan really should have been? A huge one time event about 6 months after launch (implementing lessons learned from Karka) with like 3000 players fighting him using the new culling technology (where you can still see all the characters). Now that would be epic.
^Pristine relics
This would be awesome, already have three rings and don’t know what to do with all the relics.
Rank… the tribune… (groan)
I think we have more spies!
Really nice post! Though I still found one mistake: You will not roam astray. She most certainly doesn’t say go here.
Sometimes it happens that you spawn dead after you reconnect (or if you for some reason join later than other party members). I haven’t figured out the exact conditions for this yet, but it’s happened to at least 2 people on every fractal run since the patch (either at the start of a fractal or even in the observatory).
Which recipes are those for example?
I hope this didn’t get overlooked. I’d still love to see this.
It was there in Beta, ArenaNet!
I want to enjoy your environments without pressing /sleep
Yea have fun having the entire right side cluttered with events.
They would have to make a separate menu in your hero panel or something where you can see all events going on in a zone.
It’s not easy to implement this correctly, so don’t count on it happening.
I’d love to have a minipet slot.
Farming the puzzle for what?
The Greatsword sometimes won’t summon in your hands now when you’re in combat, only the second copy will drop. It only happens in some cases though.
This happens since the Wintersday patch.
I thought the lore said Wintersday gifts were dropped by Tixx’s airship? Yet they do spawn in the mists. Does this have any relevance or is it just a gameplay thing?
What do you think how GW2Spidy works :P
It was posted here some time ago http://de.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/14w4bt/oh_oh_oh_heres_the_christmas_music_you_all_want/
I managed to snatch the download, but ArenaNet seems to have had it removed now. And I doubt posting it here will last much longer, so you’ll have to wait for an official post.
They don’t. That would make eles way OP.
OT: Please give us a minipet slot! —> see relevant post
Then go play one of those games if you like them so much better. Guild Wars 2 is a great looking game, in fact the best looking to date. No need to change that.
1. Not related to current lore.
2. Why base content off some random myth.
3. How do you know you’ll survive?
I’m all for this. An equipment slot for minis would be awesome, but it would already be great if the game just remembered the last mini pet you summoned upon changing zones.
If they bring back end game zones like the Underworld, they should consider making some for the other gods as well! Like Lyssa’s, Dwayna’s or Melandru’s Realm, that would be really awesome. So far we’ve only seen Balthazar’s and Grenth’s realms. (and Abaddon, but he’ s not a god anymore). This could of course go along with an expansion where we get more information why the gods have taken a step back etc
I played Honor of the Waves explorable mode yesterday and I want to say one thing: It’s unfinished. In fact, it’s probably the buggiest experience I’ve had with explorable mode dungeons so far.
First off, I didn’t get a letter inviting me to join explorable mode, which is already a disappointment compared to the other dungeons. Given, I already know there’s an explorable mode, but it’s still nice to have an invitation and an actual reason to go back there.
Second, there are literally no waypoints in this dungeon except the first one. At least one around half way would make the experience much smoother.
Third, the bosses in path 2 and 3 at the end are horrible to fight. I do like the idea of underwater bosses, but due to the fact that underwater combat is somewhat flawed at the moment (e.g. Elementalists only have one elite, damage is only a fraction of surface combat, ressing is too slow (you barely outheal natural downed state degen)) the experience was horrible.
One boss (with the charging spear attack that instantly downs you) took ages to kill (20 to 30 minutes iirc) while having an ability that instantly downs and subsequently kills you.
The other underwater boss was quite buggy. Our team managed to get out of the water through a hole in the top right corner of the pool and then damage him while he was still using his underwater skills on foes on land.
Fourth, there’s a bug allowing path 2 and 3 to be done in the same run. You can swim over the gate in the room of the latter boss and proceed to the third boss. Of course I was happy I could do that, since the bosses themselves were atrocious, but I don’t think it was intended this way.
Fifth, the totems on the last boss of path 1 respawn way too quickly. Without using ice bows, it’s literally impossible to get them all down unless you don’t damage the boss at all and all focus on the totems.
In the end I’d like to say that I found the other bosses quite interesting and the dungeon design appealed to me, there’s just a few flaws still remaining that need to be ironed out.
Seriously, there’s been so many awesome locations I want to use as my wallpaper/marvel at at a later time. But my character ist always in the way.
Not that I don’t like my character, but sometimes I’d like to get a good view of non-vista locations.
It’s also way more immersive to directly look into the game world than constantly having to look at the back of your character.
So, I don’t know why this isn’t in your game yet, ArenaNet. At least give us the option.
Guild Wars 1 had it too.

Another suggestion I’d like to make to improve the user’s camera experience is introducing first person view.
I explain my reasoning here: http://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/12z7s5/for_the_love_of_the_games_art_give_us_the_ability/
Wow, it’s been a month and still no fix
