On Stormbluff Isle as an AEST player l totally agree with first post in this thread. Orr is dead our times. There are not enough people to complete events now that the initial influx of players has dropped off. Areas are near always contested and as above post says, drops are atrocious. Why grind there for porous bone.
Density of risen with insane skill range makes Orr boring and painful.
The cost of getting there is also excessive. Since it’s free to get to Southsun Coast and most go there now for Ori/Wood, a suggestion would be to make cost free to get from LA to Order headquarters to use Asura Gate.
Agree also that Fotm has killed much of the game including other dungeons & WvW. Only one way through Fotm to get ascended gear makes no sense, though as a long term Gw1 player I am completely against gear progression as mentioned in other threads along with many of my Gw1 friends, most of which basically have already left Gw2 in disappointment. Yesterday at around 10pm AEST there were around 20 people in LA in main area near Mystic Forge/Bank/Trading Post. Most were AFK or TP hawkers.

Anet please revert to your original plan to remain faithful to Gw1 and not introduce gear progression as was stated in interviews with game developers.
Gw1 was fantastic, unique. People played it for years and still do. It worked.
Gw2 has brilliant graphics yet the game mechanics, introduction of gear progression, armor repairs, teleport fees are all too reminiscent of every other Mmo out there. At least we don’t yet have virtual poker machines on our webpage.
Again last night at Jormag. It’s deafening. If over 140db it’s actually potentially damaging hearing.

A couple of other points:
1. Remove armor repairs from Wvw
2. Do not allow use of ascended items in Wvw.

If they remove armor repairs than they have to remove making money in wvw. You may as well ask them to remove armor repairs in general.

And I have to remind: The very best way to report bots is to submit an individual report via the in-game system. This is because those reports give us ever so much info and they help us nail… err… attend to them very quickly. * ahem *

Gaile, at least one of the bots Enju and l reported in this thread days ago is still active in Cursed/Malchors everyday as he was downed it was possible to add to friends list. Whenever l’ve been ingame since, he is logged in. We are not supposed to post names and fair enough if there’s a mistake however l did shoot fraps of the others that were blinking in and out and guess l will have to edit and upload to YT and send names and private video link to Anet as nothing seems to be done through here yet.

The problem I mentioned is the other way round though. Not sure if you are such yet players who did not play Gw1 are conditioned to Mmo’s with gear progression and have difficulty undestanding why we played Gw1 for years without it.
Two posts on ele weapon swapping when opened topic.
I agree completely not just for eles. The current system is unworkable.
On my necro in a dungeon l will swap between 3 sets of weapons easily. Sometimes an off hand for run speed through certain sections.
Same on ele. Some areas l’ll use s/d, where as other areas staff is more suitable.
Same on mesmer. Mostly l run staff, GS, yet when l need speed boost, manually swap out s/f
To do so means using H key dialogue window to manually swap completely obscuring the central client view area.
I’ve watched video guides by guardians having to do the same through runs in Arah.
Having to do this in Wvw too puts one in a vulnerable state
It just does not make sense.

11:49 pm, Australian Eastern Standard TimeLooks like they’re botting/using hacks, where they’re continuously teleporting from one spot to another. Also looks like they’re constantly coming in and out of stealth.
Second this, three of us saw them, about 3-4 different bots right at portal to Malchor’s.
One was downed on waypoint when we came in, yet no mob close by. We rezzed this ele, it dropped a #4 trail and disappeared only to reappear again a short distance away, downed again, rezzed, same again.
Then we noticed another 3. Logging in and out too quickly to report through in game system.
I’ve noticed this type of hacking behavior through Malchor’s, Southsun, Cursed. Seeing a solo player fighting champions, or rounding up multiple mobs (e.g an ele), then as soon as it notices another player in range, they disappear.
Necro has been neglected lately until last two days in Orr.
Serious issue with Spectral Grasp fighting Risen.
Testing undertaken:
10/1/13 AEST: Approx 80-90% failure rate.
11/1/13 AEST: 100% failure rate
11/1/13: Tests:
1. On flat terrain
2. Within melee range of foe
3. Duration of tests: In excess of two hours.
100% failure rate
It is the staple skill for solo’ing as a D/D necro.
Can anyone else confirm?
Spectral Grasp has always has never functioned reliably especially on uneven terrain. Discusion with thief today in Malchor’s who suggested a z-axis issue. Makes sense for terrain issues since similar issue with Scorpion Wire.
This raised thoughts about mesmer illusionary wave (prior to necro l had been playing mesmer). This skill functions reasonably reliably (in Orr too) though if it doesn’t push it does KD. The only foe it does not seem to work on are earth elementals.

I thought i just an issue with my perception of time, oh as a solo player mostly (not by choice) and a noob the invulnerable bug and the over zealous re-spawn rates are like a death knell.
Nope the ‘invulnerable’ bug is still alive and well though the characters encountering those mobs are usually dead after the mob becomes active.

Since patch and in particular today my party had numerous disconnects and some lag issues.
1. Yesterday after patch on ranger in various zones, not just LA, momentary screen freezes.
Today:
1. In TA, US party member Dc’d, then was complaining of barely being able to move for around 15 or so min. He has a good computer with SSD drives and said he’d never had the issue before.
2. Client froze for me (also in Aus) on loading screen to Tixx. Required client restart.
3. Aus player from Sydney dc’d twice in Fotm causing us to restart instance once, then the second time finish with four.
4. Then he dc’d in Tixx instance at Grove.
5. Another Aus player in party also had client freeze.
So there’s 6 issues amongst numerous people in one day.
Another issue with both thief and mesmer teleporting skills boucing character stuck under terrain. Happened numerous times in many different locations.
Reported early if not in beta. Have to teleport out. Seems there’s no way, even when l can see gaps in terrain to ‘bump’ back out.
Wayfarer Foothills @ Minotaur event.
Prior to event there’s an NPC with a cart near house.
There’s some anomaly that’s been there since release.
Just saw thread now so posting something while l think if it as l came across it last week again. Thought it would have been reported and fixed by now.
During event when crossing over where cart/NPC was, one is bounced back.
Tested it numerous times with a friend also.
Not sure how terrain maps work, but a couple of possibilities.
The only way to reproduce would be to Fraps, it’s late at night so l’ll try explain.
1. It’s an XY join point coordinate on a map/moving between map zones
2. On event start, cart and npc are triggered to turn invis and move under terrain, however they are not completely submerged. Still, if this were the case then one would assume that a character would climb over it, not get bounced back.
Since it’s been so long standing, it does deserve investigation. Thx.
It’s not just in Pvp, GS skill Phantasmal Berserker is also broken in Pve. Stands there, throws one hit and shatters. Not playing mesmer till it’s fixed.
Just a clarification as the point of my post, although not exactly on topic was why people should have to spend real money to fix a bug that existed since game release. A fix was applied early at some point although it seems the bug was not effectively resolved or people would not have to be buying makeover kits to fix it. Some response from Anet on this issue would be appreciated.

Deafening footsteps from black bear.
All audio option settings unchanged since last post at less than 1/4
This time, in vent with friend again from previous post could not hear footsteps so they were only audible to me.
Exited to character selection screen.
Relogged on same character, bug gone.
Makes perfect sense that there would be connection issues with a PST Friday night update.
What doesn’t make sense is:
1. The timing
2. No trickle feed available days before patch implemented.
Perhaps these options could be considered for future large updates.
Since the beginning of game I have occasional loud ‘cracking’ sounds that are quite deafening.
Yesterday l was with a friend in vent at Jormag, there was one of those ’crack’s and we both heard it so it confirmed it’s not just me or a hardware issue/incompatibility my end.
It’s inconsistent so there are no steps that would cause a reliable method to reproduce.
With the last occurrence l did notice it was through right earphone, not stereo through both.
I know there have been odd audio issues since release, with pets etc which have been resolved, this particular bug is still outstanding however.
Even though I had reduced all audio levels in options to well under 1/4, for now I have reduced them further as l am concerned about hearing damage. Yesterday’s blast resulted in a minor headache. This would seem to be quite a serious concern.
If there are any suggestions to adjust particular settings they would be appreciated. Due to the ‘search’ function bug in forums l am unable to find any other threads. Thx.
Now near finished all PVE world mapping yet due to our server’s losses the past month in Wvw some maps are impossible.
Please consider removing the Wvw maps from general World completion and perhaps add an additional category for Wvw mapping.
Search seems bugged. Not only does it not find threads that one is searching for (I find them later), it also returns inaccurate results before finishing typing the search query.

Interesting to find this thread in a search as l’ve also been tempted to buy a makeover kit to fix the glow on my Sylvari necro hair.
In beta she had blue hair with a white glow, which worked fine in all areas, yet on release l made her hair white with a blue glow. Problem is, most of the time, unless she is in shadow, the ‘glow’ is brown. Looks horrible.
Yet l am reluctant to pay to possibly or not, fix a game bug and somewhat shocked to see that others already have done so.
This seems unreasonable and as such l would like some feedback from Arenanet on the issue.
Aside from that, another reason why l haven’t yet purchased the kit was that l wanted to know, if l can’t get the preview the way l want it, is it possible to cancel it. Gw1 and Aion both had NPC’s where one could try out changes before committing. Aion however also has problems with preview colours not necessarily being representative of ingame results. Although ingame of course, is dependent on world lighting and other ambient lighting efffects, used much in Gw2.
As for this bug with Sylvari glows. Has anyone considered submitting a support ticket about it?

As if having MF in a game wasn’t game breaking enough. I am completely shocked to read this thread’s sticky by Anet. Sorry, though what were game developers thinking? O.O
1. People using subpar gear for the sake of drops at the expense of effectiveness of group. Many people do not have static guild teams. In two of my guilds, so many have left already there’s rarely enough on for a team. People want different stats from different dungeons. Also being on AEST means people on LFG is even more limited.
2. Gear statistics inapplicable for many classes.
2. Light armor class difficulties with statistics
3. Highlights the need again for a decent system to view other player’s armor. Though l suppose in a pug they could just swap out sets later.
Please Anet remove MAGIC FIND from the game altogether.

Oh yes. I’d be suprised if there wasn’t a bug report about it nor a message from Anet staff as it is an issue/bug. Seen it before in other games on release.
Trouble is, it seems variable/inconsistant across all levels at different times.
Particularly difficult for lowbies in beginner areas such as bats in outside troll cave in NE corner Plains of Ashford. God knows how lowbies just starting game manage in blues/greens.
It is a bug. lol
Anyway, look forward to their programmers getting a handle on this as well as intermittent yet too frequent ‘invulnerable’ bug.

Agree with comment about Supply and Demand since massive amounts of ectos needed for ascended gear.
Price has got up 4s in 24hrs. Continuing to escalate at a rapid rate.
Just salv’d around 6 rares and 2 exotics +74 range. 5 ecto…..whereas previously the salvage rate seemed much better.
Seems like l’m stuck with a dungeon grind for exotic armor unless l want to buy stacks of gems. Then, is it even worth it. Will they continue to ramp up gear stats as I’ve seen in other Mmo’s?
I was so looking forward to coming back to GW to escape the RNG, the dependance on gear and spending a fortune in store. Seems all MMO’s are following the same business model now.
Recently spoken to a few friends who’ve already spent hundreds of dollars since release, play near 24/7. Then see people with the lovely glowy legendaries and wonder just how. I’ve known players in other Mmo’s who think nothing of spending hundreds a week. It’s scary that developers want to profit in this way. I thought more of Anet…….
As for drops from Veterans and Champions, see patch notes Nov15th. Assured drops from veterans and champions…and not porous bones, or…oftentimes, nothing at all.
In fact, a waste of time. Killed champion frost troll too numerous times a few days back, nothing. Killed a regular troll, rare. Seem to have more chance of getting the odd rare from regular mobs. All a big grind regardless.

Mmn ok, I certainly hope so.
Been watching ecto prices too the past few weeks since making exotic set for one of 4 80’s and not having much luck with rare drops. Have rare MF set on that char though tbh, l got 4 rares yesterday using no MF while friend in full MF with food got none. Hadn’t any for over a week though and two or three 75+ raresl salv’d the previous day yielded no ectos.
When l made exotic set they were approx 15-20s ea, can’t remember exactly. When l went to buy more to make jewellery and another exotic set price had jumped to 29s and under 20 for sale on broker. Since then l’ve been watching prices go up everyday and today, now 1000 on broker. It seems someone may have been buying all on broker and is now pushing prices up since l believe ascended/legendary gear requires large quantities of ectos?

Nov 15th patch said they were to assure drops from veterans/champions. They haven’t. We really need a reply from them on this. People are leaving the game in droves atm.
But subjectively I feel there are a lot less rares dropping from regular mobs now than there were before the patch. I know Veterans are supposed to drop more, but I’m not noticing that.

In fact, the FotM and Dungeons seems to be a much better source of rares now, which is probably why you find less people farming Orr nowadays. And I won’t be using MF in Dungeons any time soon.
Haven’t been doing dungeons as no regular group and dislike pugs. Noticed the last couple of days tho, no people outside HoW or CM. No one. A month ago there were people everywhere outside CM looking for groups.
But if a dedicated MF set means finding 2 rares and hour, rather than 1, I don’t think it’s worth it.
It seems objectionable to have included MF in game at all.
Couple of days ago at Jormag someone was saying they had armour/food/BCTP MF boots to get one rare. That they would introduce such a game mechanic and use it as a source of income on store seemsthat Anet is following an unfortunate path attempting to copy business models from other mmo’s.

Personally, I am not going to the bother of changing and resetting DNS to view their emails. I will wait till they fix it or they will be filtered and sent to junk bin.
Just read the EDIT part of my reply. Try to change your DNS server to 8.8.8.8 and give it a try =)
Thanks for the advice KuroiShin, however while very helpful, it should not be necessary for players to have to reset DNS. One would expect Arenanet to fix the links.

Over the weekend l read thread after thread of people upset with timing. Not even US players let alone Oceanic.
It seems very unfair that many of us were unable to participate in this or the Halloween events due to other commitments/issues.
Played Gw1 for more hours/years than l want to mention here, yet like other of my old Gw1 friends, losing interest fast.
Some acknowledgement by Anet to all those of us who have missed out on these events would also be appreciated. Instead they make a sticky about those who were able to make the event yet disconnected. It’s not like we did not want to attend.
Please Anet take the hint and put these ‘One time’ events back on the drawing board.

Yes after hours talking to old Gw1 Gwamm friend in vent last night, who stopped playing a few weeks ago, l’m thinking the frustration level is reaching a peak too.
Bored with levelling alts over the same grind cause l hate Orr drops, Dragon drops that don’t cover cost to travel there, porous bones and the same boring mobs over and over. So sick of OP risen maniacs on speed with spectral grasp and insane aggro ranges.
Not interested in doing OP dungeons, armor repairs and broken events when so much content is still broken since release so yeah, glad l’ve plenty happening in RL to keep busy. I’m playing less and less every day.
To quote Game update notes 15th Nov. “The drop rarity of Rare and Exotic weapons from certain places in the world (champions, veterans, and players in WvW) has been increased. Rares and Exotics should be much more likely to drop and every champion should be guaranteed to drop loot. This was to ensure that world loot drops were not a significantly worse way of acquiring rare and exotic items than crafting and running dungeons”
Total rubbish. Killed so many veterans, champions since then even in Orr and new area to test this and guess what….nadda…nothing….and l’m not talking massive zergs of 50 people either, oftentimes only a handful on champions and duo’ing/solo’ing veterans. In new area this evening, duo or trio’d numerous veterans, killed a champion with about 15 people, many complained they received nothing also.
So disillusioned right now.

Didn’t even think to look yesterday when tried to do bugged phase 1 and couldn’t get past Noll….
Would have been easy to do map fragment section on other characters.
Given all the problems with event, it would have been a goodwill gesture to players to make map fragment account bound and extend event till later in week.
Many are unable to attend event times for various reasons. I do hope that Anet makes changes to this event structure to accommodate all players for future events.
COMPILATION OF ALL PREVIOUS TOP IDEAS (updated/sorted/corrected)
- Preview Armor/Weapon/Dye on the Trading Post – This would save disappointment for those who are buying for cosmetic reasons only to realize they wasted a small fortune on something they dislike the look of.
- Waypoint/PvP costs need readjusting – You have enough money sinks and +3s per teleport? No, no, no! 1.5s should be the max price. The same thing with the PvP repair costs.
- Need a Dueling Mechanic – 100% of players want this. There have been over 50 times when I wanted to test my abilities against another player and vice versa.
Percentages on Health Bars – This will add more strategy to your combat and lets the player see the damage he is doing.
- View Gear of another player (inspect) – This would make everything more convenient so I don’t have to bug another player about what gear he has.
- Guild Halls – It’s called GUILD Wars isn’t it? We need a place to hangout with our guildies. It can also have some vendors and an internal courtyard or a central “Ring/Arena” where players can duel while others spectate. Simple. PUT IT IN!
- More PvP maps/modes/types – Cap the flag, Team Deathmatch, Free for all, 5v5 3v3 sPvP etc.
- Face to Face trading like GW1 – There have been countless times where face to face trading like GW1 would have been easier, safer and more convenient.
- Better party group mechanics – How about seeing who is the party leader? Or making someone else leader?
- Add an LFG channel – This would make dungeon party finding faster and easier.
- Option to customize own UI – 99% of players would want this.
- Optimize the camera distance – At the moment the camera’s max distance is a little too close to the character.
- Make dyes ACCOUNT BOUND – There are so many…
… and some are far from cheap… account bound please.
- Dye weapons – PLEEEAAASSSSE!!! Everyone I have spoken with wants this!!! It sucks having a weapon that looks epic but has unmatching or kitten colour(s).

Missed the first event due to it being 6am in Aus.
Given the pages of bugs, the bad timing for many players it would seem reasonable to expect changes to the way these ‘One time events’ are run.
So that all can enjoy and participate a suggestion would be to make them ‘One time weekly events occuring every few hours or a couple of times a day. Please consider this option as the way it’s going, these events are just a cause of frustration and will turn people off the game. Many friends and myself did not even bother participating in the Halloween events because of timing issues being overseas, and by the time l did start the scavenger hunt at least on one lvl80 to get a backpack upgrade from the starter level one, the patch to remove content was applied.
