Honestly, I feel that this is one of their biggest issues. Let us compare this to a game with worst community, “League of Legends”. You ever check their forums? Those guys reply to a lot of those important posts the last time I check (several of months ago. I quit that game =b). If there is an issue, give us a nod. Say, “Hey guys! Thanks for the info. We truly appreciate it and are looking into it.” A strong relationship with your customer is key to success. just an FYI.

This was why I always wanted to make it a lvl 20 cap. Too late now since the whole game revolves around lvl 80… The thing is, getting to level 80 the first couple time is a blast! Heart quests, missions, find POI, vistas, and waypoints. But after doing it twice, it isn’t as interesting. All the fun and end-games stuff are at level 80. Not to mention, the new update on the Traits has a positive and negative impact. It is nice to be more organized… but the downfall is that we don’t look forward to every level up any longer like we used to.

GW1, your max level is 20…. and boss’s max level = 30+ =) that was sweet…

Fluffball… the point you made is very logical. It would be OP…. in a 1v1 fight. Sadly, do that in any 5v5 or 8v8 and I assure you that you won’t even live. No honor in those games. 3 guys will jump you and dump you before you can even shoot hunter shot on them. And just like you, I myself am and has been a LB ranger since GW1 and use my LB ranger build extensively in PvP. LB will always be my fav. =)

Regarding the stealth kill thingy, I was just thinking that maybe Anet should make anyone who is on stealth take 33% more damage… That is kind of fair right? Ranger’s “rapid fire” can kind of tail them throughout their stealth, but they will still have a great chance of escaping. Just a thought. Come on guys, it is a “ranger’s purpose” thread. Please put some inputs? I like to hear ideas.

And you know what that purpose should be? It should be… stealth eliminator. -_- Meaning, they should make us effective against killing people like thieves and memsers that can stealth up and run a mile away while 10 wvw players are trying to chase them down but fail. =) Your thoughts.

Or maybe a new skill known as “Burrow”. Instead of stealthing… we “burrow” ourselves onto the ground, like a zergling, and surprise attack our poor victims that passes by us. And the best part is… we can stay there as long as we like. -_- Share your opinions! WHat purpose should we HAVE?!!

I haven’t looked deep into the Town Clothing issue. Are you referring to not being able to mix-and-match ? If so, yes that is a total downfall.

But overall, I must say (for the first time in many months) that Anet is doing a very good thing for the game. The changes they had made are definitely good changes (very very few aren’t though).

Just to help motivate and encourage your idea, I do recall reading that the pets F2 skills will now be instantaneous. Can anyone confirm?

To go against your idea, I must agree with Ranger Cameliane (kyubi) on this. Anet is making another dumb mistake. But what does it means to be a Ranger, my fellow brethren?! We know from the start that taking the path of a Ranger wasn’t going to be an easy one. Whine and complain (so that Anet can probably open their eyes) but never give up. Explore any build that comes into mind, even if it is stupid. You might open a new one for the rest of us =)

PS) My pet usually get killed in one-shot, so I really have no idea how this will help me. Best wishes for our supposed new pet “AI”. Hopefully they are more useful now.

…. I’ll admit that I was trolling the hell out of them…. But that is what I do! Guys, I have a confession to make…. The reason why us rangers are mistreated is all my fault… Before you judge me, please hear me out.

It was just a normal Sunday like any other where I would log onto GW2 and go on PvP (October 2012). I didn’t know that there was an Anet player there, so I took out my overpowered build and owned him along with his other Anet friends. Who knew the red badge next to the name meant anything! 5v1 it was (me being the only guy defending Clock Tower), and they said, “Ranger OP! We gonna nerf you, you B-i!” And that is how it all came to past…. True story. I am ashamed… if only I let them beat me up, this whole thing would never had happened.

I now go into isolation.

Is there a glitch on this? My troll unguent isn’t affected by this like it used to. I recall it adding addition 3 seconds on it. Thanks.

Hmm… both 1 and 2 are logical and well-known facts. Can you give me something more than such elementary facts? And please stay on topic. I’m asking for the flaws and the fixes, not your ‘attacks’. Ta da!! =)

This is the topic to share your opinions! This isn’t a HATE topic. I enjoy GW2 and play it here and there nowadays… kind of… Anyways, what do you feel are the flaws in this wonderful game, and how do you think we can fix it? For me:

1) Living Story…. just sad. Unless LA is permanently destroyed and will slowly rebuild throughout the year. Overall, it’s predictable. Destroyed now. Once the event is over… it’s back 100% to normal. Maybe the Lion statue is missing but other than that, nothing too big.

2) Gem Store…. “Hot new items limited of time for YOU!” I feel they focus too much on this (as well as LS) instead of fixing up some bug in the games that been here since release.

You guys are fools….. There is only one reason why there are so much hate against the Ranger class…. and that’s because those wimps went up against me! HaHAH!! >=) All I ever heard was, “Too Strong Nerf Plz” after I repeatedly jump on their dead body

Anyone feel that there is something that is missing from GW1? Not talking about the trinity either. I felt it since beta, but still can’t put my finger on it today (been almost 2 years). What is it that is missing ? (Besides the exclusion of cash shop) =)

Like my good old business teacher once told me : “The first step to failure is trying to please everyone… You can’t. Do what you know you can do and what you are good at, and stick to it. At least you know you can please that side better than the other side.”

I enjoyed GW2. In fact, I got the most hours out of it just for $60 – discount. =) $40. It has been some time since I left. I did PvE. Explored almost the whole map but stopped… the HEART are annoying to REDO for all my characters… rather have QUESTS that are related to the MAIN STORY LINE.

Did PvP for awhile. Was very good at it and a lot of people added me because I “Role-PLayed” and acted as a ignorant, annoying last boss. =) I call them my fans.

WvW was fun. Owned a small fortress within the enemy borderline and protected it to the death. Map chat to all my alliances in WvW, welcoming them into the Refugee Fortress. =)

Living stories? Only done Molten Alliance… my only favorite.

The thing about GW2 is… in the Main Story Line, I am not the hero. I am just some mercenary helping the hero. Which is nice, but the story isn’t focused around my character. In GW1 (yes, I know it’s a different game. But I’m talking about the MAIN STORY PROGRESSION), I was some guy from Ascalon trying to prove himself. Charr invasion and destroyed the wall, people suffered, Prince Rurik took his followers up into the mountains and moving toward Kryta, sad tragic occurred, I led the rest of the people to Kryta, got involved with some bad people in shiny armors, found out I was doing bad things, took a boat to a boring desert… etc. It’s a STORY. It’s a powerful, fun to repeat, story. =) So besides Living Story, which I did not do, I did not do the Main Story either… since it is NOT required to do in order to explore the world.

Good game, money worth every bit. Never understood why people hated/ got bored of the game until it happened to me. Not saying that it is a bad game. It was worth every buck I put in it =) But it isn’t something I’d ever come back to. I told myself until there is a massive change, more skills that were promised, MORE LANDS TO EXPLORE like the crystal desert, I’ll come back and my adventure shall continue!! FOR GREAT JUSTICE!!!

PS) I do not do any grinding whatsoever as well.. Legendary/ascended armors are NOT worth my time… -_- It is nice to have powerful weapon, but a true Ranger does not require a legendary weapon to be a Legendary Ranger… he already is at Heart. -_-\/

I don’t know what you are talking about. That new boss of HELL that I just went through, that guy literally bit me, twirled me around in the sky, and tossed me a 1/4 of the way across the map. My life went from max to 1 in an instant!

Sure been some time since I last went on forum. What I did yesterday (in WvW… yes I usually do PvP as well) against a P/S thief was just shooting him down with my long bow. Step up close? Numbre 4. Keep shooting him from the distance. Stepped up close again? Numbre 3 stealth and ran away. Then rapid fire. Barrage my area since he’s coming close to me. Numbre 4 again… and repeat whatever above (number 3, 2, etc). Barrage your area when he goes stealth. And if you are Rapid Firing him and he turns stealth, your rapid fire will still aim at him even though you dont see him.

Killed a warrior, necro and a thief but got epically owned by a Guardian that does a somehow powerful spin to win. o_o Anyone knows why that Guardian 2-hand sword spin attack struck me 75% of my life?

I know what you mean. In Guild Wars 1, I was a hero! >=( I saved Tyria, Cantha, Elona, and even went and talked to that ignorant, angry little girl name Gwen. I liked her in prophecy though. Give her back her broken flute, red cape, and a new flute. Small act is heroic too! -_-\/

Guild Wars 2. My character is like a loss little guy who is completely clueless about everything. Didn’t bother with the storyline after I discovered I was just some minion of the storyline. You slayed a dragon? Oh, well I just slayed a cow! Same difference. I miss the evil tyrants that wants to take over the world.

Oh Ranger Nuka Cola, your suggestion of Barrage stabbed me on my heart.

This is one of the things I am looking forward to for the second half of the year. At the moment, I can’t think of any “skills” or “Traits” that I can benefit from. Anyone have any suggestions or thoughts?

Agreed. I feel that SB is boring (in my perspective. Everyone is different so take no offense of it), and prefer the difficulty and complication of using the LB. It takes a talented mind to improvise, though I won’t deny that stealth thing is difficult to work with. I am sure some LB users felt that they are now missing an additional attack skill in their LB combos. I know I do, but I still want to explore it a bit more.

There was a trait for protection when you dodge roll. I don’t recall invulnerability.

Imagine barrage being mobile… The animation would look like a person, playing a guitar while running.

That is what I was thinking. It will increase, but not enough worthy to waste both Piercing and Eagles

Edit: If Opening Strike has more usage, I would’ve gone for it definitely. For example, a daze effect if you use LB skill (1) in stealth. Would go nicely with piercing. Or perhaps an explosive shot… Just being creative.

WvW, I would keep Piercing Arrows/Eagle Eyes and use stealth as an escape tool. I haven’t got the time to explore too much on Remoreseless, but currently at the moment, I only see stealth useful as an escaping skill.

Edit: I also don’t see the effectiveness of opening shot at the moment. If someone who had explored this area can enlighten, it would greatly be appreciated.

Ranger Conan, what weapon do you use for a ranger?

Short bow, although axe is good too if you use it correctly.

Short bow damage is not avoidable, it kills in about 1/3 of the time it would take to kill anyone decent with a longbow.

I assumed you didn’t use Longbow since you seem to dislike it, which leads to my next question. Why do you bother cursing the Longbow when you do not use it? I main the longbow since beta, and I still use it. I don’t like Shortbow because I see it more as a spam of ones, stacking on condition (also the sight of the BOTS that used to run around the game had an impact on my perspective of it as well). If you do not use it, leave it alone so people who enjoys, not the killing, but the playstyle to do what they want with it.

Yes, I agree SB > LB. I always knew that. I also believe that Condition > Crit too. Got struck by 11k bleeding by 1 necro the other day. If you hate the LB, leave it alone for others who enjoys it to use it. Don’t have to trash them.

Ranger Chopps, don’t get too serious with Conan. Like most people, he hates changes and does not want to work with it for a day or two to improvise. That is why people like us exist, Chopps.

Among other benefits the stealth on hunters also let’s you cast the beginning of barrage without detection.

To gain stealth you have to hit your target first but you cast barrage before your target gets close enough to hit so this won’t work.

Am i the only one who thinks that [Hunter’s Shot] became pretty useless as long as you’re not retreating/hiding?

Depends on your perspective. Remorseless + Opening strike would be of good use. Every time you do opening strike, you causes vulnerability. I see it as a positive advantage. We aren’t losing anything; we gained something (stealth). The 10 vuln stack was not removed but was combined into Rapid Shot (giving us the ability to spread our Vuln further and wider by using piercing shot).

SB, to me, is all about condition anyways. If you guys want escape moves, go S/D. It’s fun dancing around in a 3v1 (you being the 1) scenario.

I honestly don’t see the point of giving stealth to Hunter’s Shot. IMO, it would be perfect for the shortbow after the range nerf, but the longbow is meant to be used at very long range, where it’s easier to avoid ranged attacks, and it already has a counter against melee attacks in Point Blank Shot.

I’ve been trying to point this out but people keep shouting me down otherwise.

It’s a longbow. You should be at quite a bit of range. We basically lost DPS for slight utility that honestly doesn’t even do that much good. I’m aware you can stealth+rez but you will not get the rez off in time and the dps loss IS NOT WORTH IT.

There is no such thing as being at quite a bit of range. Things run at you, and no matter how good you are at mobility they will catch you. Stealth helps give you breathing room.

That’s why you’re supposed to kite and keep moving about. If you’re getting caught while using a bow then you’re bad. As harsh as it sounds, it’s the truth. Ask any good ranger or player that.

Wow, i didn’t read this. Ranger Arcade, if you ever played PvP and you think you can “not get caught while using a bow”, you are way better than I, or any other rangers, will ever be. It is foolish to think you can actually not get caught. And if you ask me (yes, I am a Great Ranger), it is not the truth and it is very harsh thing to say. You posted earlier people were shouting you down. It seems to me that you are the attacker, not the attacked. Reconsider your logic.
