Dancer in the Dark/No Refuge/World Summit – We’re no repro on these, and it’s difficult with the thread merges for my guys to find out if these are still problems or there’s another step we’re missing. If you are still not getting these challenge motes any additional information (did you skip around in the story, etc?) you have would be really valuable.

If you have such a hard time reproducing the issue, why don’t you simply contact someone from this thread ingame? Feel free to contact me for all I care but stop this abysmal (lack of) support.
I really don’t understand how ANet can even think about justifying this sort of behaviour? Just deactivate the achievement until you can be kitten d to fix this so people can get their AP and luminescent armor pieces. If I had bought the episode from the Gem Store, I would sue you to get my money back since everyone knows how you “handle” bugs.

So sorry, my communication was poor there. The issue that prevented the sale of the Series 2 Complete Pack was resolved, so it can be sold again. The challenge motes issue is still under investigation.

well, the most painful thing is: if they wait to long to fix it. The day they will do it; Nobody will care a KITTEN about this armor anymore. This is what makes me angry.
If you can not fix this KITTEN, so at least put this kitten item in Laurels vendor for 5 laurel and say we are sorry to the commnunity.

I for one didn’t get the episodes for the story, I missed out on LW1 when I went on a different game type hiatus and there for have no attachment to the characters or the lore of what’s going on. I got the stories for the sole purpose of getting the luminescent armor, which I am not able to complete.

I was in a similar situation, except I logged in once a week to check stuff, so I had them unlocked, if nothing else. (a dear friend of mine kept nudging me to make sure I unlock em)

I just send in a bug report for this every day, hoping to get it fixed by being annoying and possibly getting one of the QA people (or whoever reads those bug reports) bored enough to pass it on to the proper person for a fix.

Honestly these days I have 3 daily activities – the actual daily, harvesting the home instance and reporting this bug.

I’m not sure if that’s a good plan. They blacklist you for spamming & then you won’t ever achieve anything with your future bug reports. I myself send one report, weekly :P

Hot is pretty far off. Your comment is the opposite of helping. Dev looks at it “ooh this guy is okay with waiting for months” Well I’m certainly not okay with any waiting what so ever, I’m just trying to keep myself busy in game, to avoid looking at them boots xd

I heard a rumor in game, that the not so recent disappearance of the MotA challenge mote is not a bug at all, but it’s intentionally disabled to stop ppl from exploiting with it. I wasn’t told any specifics, but the exploit itself was -while not widely known- pretty game breaking in a way. (infinite achie points perhaps~)

I have this same problem. It is blocking progress on achievements. We have tried it multiple times. With minis out, without minis. With the mission, or just in achievement mode. Nothing works. The little blue flame for the challenge mode simply does not and will not appear in “Meeting the Asura”. This is literally the only thing stopping me from finishing my Lumi set.

Make no mistake I love this game, but this is the most annoying bug I’ve encountered in my gaming “carrier”. (it tops the broken main quest-line blocking bugs I’ve gotten in all 3 episodes of Gothic,)

All of them only show up after you unlock it, except the ones that aren’t tied to Achievements.

That doesn’t make ANY sense! Who would want to buy them after they already have them?! It’s account bound!

Well, if you had 10 characters, each of them could have one equipped at the same time.

Luckily for me I JUST decided to get the lumi set… in 2 days (I work full time) I got everything but this mote. This is a potential way to make sure achievements are not easily completed in under a month. I also corrected your time frame in the quote to accurately show how things are being handled.

I’d be less upset if this achievement is just for.. some random thing, or not really required like meta. it use to be like that isn’kitten where you just need to do 7/9 or whatever achievements to get the meta.

I think it would be nice if they just gave us an alternative way to get the ascended item for the biolum set. The point in doing the achievement for me is to try and complete the set. Just put in a secondary way of getting the item and i’d be a happy camper. They can fix the stupid mote later for all i care.

I agree with this 100%. Options include, but not limited to removing unforgiving infiltration from the meta achie, or just adding the ascended item to the vendor for 1000-2000 bandit crests.

Howler used to be one of the best legendaries because of the night time effect (had cool sparks as well) , but now it doesn’t feel legendary at all. Dreamthistle warhorn ftw .p

hi — i have been able to get the world summit mote to work three times now (and it is extremely random) by outright abandoning the story, starting a new one, relogging (or restarting my computer), and then restarting the story… however, i am one of those people who had a mote visible the first time i tried after the patch.

if it helps, i have found that partying up with people who haven’t yet seen the mote makes it stop appearing for me — i tried to help out a couple of other players earlier, but it didn’t work at all. however, as i said, this method has let me see it, when i enter alone, a couple of times now!

If they don’t fix it until HoT, they won’t fix it after either, bug fixers will be kind of busy for a long time to come then.

So I just completed Tangled Paths on my second character but i did not receive another Carapace Glove Box so I can choose another glove skin.

This is not a bug, it was an intentional change a while back, you get one glove box as an achievement reward, rather than it being the final reward for that episode. They probably made this change, because the silver wastes pvp reward track is also awarding a glove box upon 40/40 completion.

This can mean 2 things:
1. They have no idea what is causing this, or how to fix it..and will take quite a while to fix this bug without runing other parts of the game.
2. They do not consider this a priority, and just noted it on a post it stuck on a frigde “When you have time fix the mole bug…eventually, if you don’t mind…no hurry”

It could be a little bit of a both. If they had an idea whats causing it, the fix would have happened already, but also if it was a priority they could have rebuilt the whole challenge mote system to fix it..

What’s kind of concerning that there was a reddit thread the other day that got upvoted to the top of the main page, (some smart wording about warning players about this bug) and it got deleted after just a couple of hours.

I heared that this and some other minor issues will be looked on after HoT release. It is sad that they can do april jokes with the characters and cant put 1 stationary NPC in the story mode… Well probably we who want it to be repaired are considered a minority for Anet… Sadly we dont event know when the HoT is comming out so…

If that is true that’s simply tragic. This game is all about cosmetics. This being broken is by itself is a supermassive issue, then there is the problem that ppl are paying gems specifically to get access to this armor set…

This issue is not something that can be swept under the rug imo. New ppl are running into this bug every day, which means by the time of HoT release, there will be literally thousands of loyal & angry gw2 players that ran into this, seriously there is no excuse for not making this a priority. (optimistic estimates put end of summer as a plausible release date for HoT) If it was a priority they could have fixed it already, or hell rebuilt the whole challenge mote system, had they failed to find a better solution.
