Hello everyone!
After wasting a LOT of time on HP Simin I decided to do it with this so called “brute force” tactics, recently levelled a warrior to 80 and now it got some gear too and I have a thief friend for poison. So all we need to make this happen is 3 other ppl with warriors. Reaching Simin shouldn’t be a problem, we can “rifle down” Lupi without any problems what so ever.
So, if you would like to join us in our pursuit of the DM title and you are playing in euro times and you have a decent warrior for the job don’t hesitate to sign up in this thread, or just pm me in game. (we are both Arah veterans, we usually don’t mind teaching first timers how to do things, but this run is definitively not about that..)
The usual problem is ppl running out of shadow walk range at the “lotsa red circles on the ground” event. You stated you were in his range, so it could be a new bug, that said I just killed him a few hours ago and whilst I felt some mechanics changed subtly, experienced no resets.
I’d like to join, pm me any time. I miss only this for dungeon master.
This kitten is still kittened up? Fantastic :-) Looking forward to the new dungeon, maybe after that’s done they’ll have some time to fix this.
It’s not about 80s being better players, it’s about the traits and dmg. A full lvl80 party can clear an AC explorable path in 20-25 mins. A full exotic 80 will do about twice the dmg of a 35 from the same class, if both of them are playing equally, chances are they are not most of the time. I have a lvl40 warrior too and I don’t kid myself about my dps in AC, it’s ridiculously low compared to my main. When I want to farm tokens I too join or form these “elitist” pugs, grown up ppl with limited time tend to optimize these activities. Just the other day we “accidently” made a guild group where we only had low lvl chars, despite everyone knowing what to do it still took a very long time to complete the path, during the first spider encounter I thought I will fall asleep it took so long.
It’s called “endgame” for a reason, judging by the healthpool of the bosses I honestly doubt they are properly tuned for low lvl players, the rewards are lvl80 rewards after all. Try to complete TA explorable (path1+2+3) with a lvl55 party now that they “fixed” things, that’s a challenge that’s beyond Arah, especially if you don’t try to make the boss encounters easier with questionable methods.
Also learning how to be efficient in an explorable dungeon takes a lot more than watching 3 youtube videos about the boss fights, you have to learn the map layout and also how to skip mobs and where is the doable etc. (you may not like skipping, but that’s how almost EVERYONE does dungeons)

I love this, it would be awesome, if we had a daily quest with like 20 silver reward on it, i would totally do it every day for the next 5 years. xd
I had a black lion key drop off a Harpy today! (during the harpy event near the AC dungeon)
I feel your pain Arsenic. Sina, easily a solution for someone who’s server doesn’t have the issue, esspecially when the issue should not be there in the first place.
Arsenic, I have set up a question about this over at https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/dungeons/Pointless/first#post565101 maybe you could add your frustration there?
Thanks
Mine has it too from time to time, ofc this shouldn’t exist in the first place, but at least we can still do it regardless of the gate’s status.
There are a lot of servers not having this problem, just try to get a cross realm party for it.
Lackluster PVE content devoid of any sort of challenge or skill requirement- FIX PLS

In a game where utility and survival skills can play such a huge role in dungeons (on all participants, not just on 1 tank) creating enrage timers is not a good idea. I hated dps races in WoW too. (go kill Priestess Simin, there you have it) Also don’t forget GW2 is a new game, WoW had what at launch, Molten Core?!
We fought Lupicus twice alrdy on path4 and yet the encounter this problem. (on the other hand there is that kitten npc that always gets grubbed at phase change
)
It’s about 90 seconds, not auto-lose indeed.
Lupicus resetting is a pretty old bug. To prevent it you have to make sure no one is kiting close to the walls and at least one person needs to be in shadow walk range in phase 2, which means like 1000ish distance.
+1 Last night in arah path4 vs. Priestess Lyssa pets were amazing, the bosses attack just kept bouncing around on them for more dmg, not to mention pets vs. sparks on Simin. :-)
This is a good idea.
You don’t suppose to WP zerg it. Not that this changes much, the path back is still short enough to make it on time, if the group is even half decent. Today I’ve done this with 2 veterans, 1 whom has done it before with the WP pulling method and 2 total newbies. It took me a pretty big wall of text, but we easily did it on the second try. This is not hard at all.
Door Still bugged… doesnt open!
fix asap pls
It’s obviously not a bug.
This is a good change, no question about it.
@Ashontear, I don’t think 2000 karma will motivate ppl to do more Arah runs and for most that is the bottleneck at obtaining the DM title.
Has anyone encountered Simin since the patch yesterday? Any changes? (Anet definitively changed something, since path1-2 are broken now:p)
I can confirm this bug.
Well bite me, but I do this too. I usually look for experienced ppl only and when a lvl35 guy shows up in blue gear and claims to have done it a million times and refuses to relog and ping some tokens or reward gear I lose my patience and press the kick button. I tried to teach ppl what to do, but had little success.. Maybe it’s just the lack of patience on my part. Good thing that I’m free to choose the teammates to play with. (also a lvl80 in full exotic gear does significantly more dmg and dies less often in most cases)
3) He will most likely pick one target and keep shadowstepping to that person. As far as I know it is related to toughness and what weapon you have equipped (melee / ranged). Let this player know he or she should focus solely on surviving. If you fail the encounter and have to restart, make this player equip survival skills.
It’s definitely not related to toughness. Yesterday we did it with 3 longbow rangers with almost identical max dmg gear and a warrior with the most amount of armor/toughness and it went for one of the rangers, apparently for the one that didn’t have the exotic guild backpack, all the other pieces were equal, with equal runes and equal sigils.
With all that said Lupi will pick a shadow walk target and stick to it, until it’s dead. So it’s very important to have that person kite the shadow walks well and of course to avoid dying. As a ranger I found signet of the hunt and lightning reflexes are very useful for managing that. That’s strange, Lupicus has definately favored toughness specced characters for my groups in the past. Was the warrior using a ranged or a melee weapon?
At the time of the first shadow walk I think a melee weapon. (hitting the last grub with it) Later on a gun.

At least that proves they tampered with it, I wonder sup with Simin atm. I’m really glad we completed path1 yesterday. :-)
Anyone with 50 gold can get this right away XD Farming 1000+ Candy corn seems doable to me, there are a crazy amount of rich veins around.
Btw is it possible to transmute the 4hr version of the weapons, thus making them permanent?
They are about the same. AC takes longer, but defo not more difficult, on that note do CoF path3 too.
It’s cool as is.
Same thing happened to us, what’s going on? This is a blocking issue, a very annoying one at that.

Esc > general options > uncheck ‘enable camera shake’. Enjoy!
Thanks for the info, very much appreciated.
The ascalonian armor doesn’t glow. It has a roman centurion look, nothing all that special.
Maybe one day it will get fixed°°
Definiately deserves a bump. The boss is real buggy. She keeps regening at 50% no matter how fast we knock her down. Then the sparks are slow and because you were in combat your character is slower. Sparks take ages to activate circles.
Fix the bugs before the exploits.
Regening at 50% regardless of speed is not a bug. If you’re smart with sparks (move 4 in, let the boss heal to max hp then dps it again to 50 and pull last spark in for instant heal cancelation) The problem is that for us it goes at 25% and at 10% too and at 5% as well XD
Yep, I’m wondering what’s going to happen with this. Arah is the only thing left for dungeon master and every time I think about returning to Simin I get a minor headache.
Or having the most points on your survival trait line.
I don’t know, but it seemed to come down to luck. Almost every time she’d go into stealth at 50%, except for a few times when we didn’t really do anything different than all the other times. But then you get stuck on her going into stealth at 25% all the time. So I’m guessing you need luck to get past that bit as well.
We have killed Simin multiple times, so it isn’t “pure luck”.
Having luck multiple times is certainly not impossible..
I guess for luck he meant “if nothing goes wrong, sparks behave, no extra delay”
By “luck” I meant boss glitching, like on the try where we almost killed him once.
Our group one shots this encounter every time, clearly luck.
GTFO
Good for you.
Wouldn’t it be cool, if we could turn the kittens off while in combat too? :-)
Hah, this would be awesome, not that it would ever happen.
+1, I get them soulbound too all the time, selling them for 2 silver is not too bad however.
Just made a run, it felt somewhat harder, died more than usual, but it’s still fairly easy.
So yeah. I came across a guy with the ghastly longbow and almost fell off my chair. The particle effects on the bow were just amazing, way cooler than those in other ghastly weapons. I instantly wanted to go and buy the bow for my warrior, but then started wondering if the crazy effects are just a bug.
Could a dev please confirm if the bow’s supposed to look like the way it looks right now or not. I personally wouldn’t mind if all ghastly weapons had the same effect as the bow.
It’s a bug, I have the bow in question and when I draw it the particle effect disappears, it’s just mixed up.
They can be downed in 10 seconds, no problem. There is a secret tho. You gotta keep attacking them with melee weapons, while you are on the move around them. (you don’t get a miss if u are on the move)
No boss in this Arah Exp mode is this hard
Simin is a lot more difficult. (Seer’s Path)

I’m wondering if there was a hidden fix for this in today’s patch…
It’s slightly bugged at times, but the difficulty is acceptable. (It resets randomly, with ppl hitting him in the chamber)
They do die crazy fast imo. They had this problem in Wow too for a while and at one point they made it so bosses aoe wouldn’t hit them.
Yesterday I tried to kill him in a pug group and he resetted 3 times in a row, with someone being alive and hitting him… Today the same thing happened once, me and a guildie hitting it with bows while it resetted in his chamber, without any pull tricks. We managed to down him in the end avoiding the walls, but it was nonetheless very frustrating.
Did someone use invis? When 1 player uses invis, and the whole team within the boss’s atk range goes invis then itll reset the boss.
OR
When the boss doesnt have any player within combat range which is usualy the case when there is only one player left in the Arena. Thats why its safer to have atleast 2 players left in the Arena within combat range.
Was very unfortunate for you:(
No invisibility. I’ve been hitting it hard with my shortbow in autoattack range.
- She goes into STEALTH. She is not invincible when this happens. Yes, she heals, but she can still be hit. Have 3 people on her at ALL times, NEVER let poison fall off of her.
That’s more like an exploit. With that said, it still healed too fast for my team to manage, even after we swapped out some lower dpsers.
Simin is a routine kill for my group, isn’t the last boss of the path either… though the last boss is even more of a joke
It doesn’t work that way, not for normal ppl. Consider yourselves very lucky.
