This is a known bug. If you have 2 spirits they will buff each other, pretty bad/sad.

I think maximizing grace of the land uptime is way more important than gear and I also think that the extra healing on magi/clerics can potentially translate to more party dps than what little you gain with zealots. (dpsers need to heal themselves just a bit less) Swapping staff off is not worth it, because you wan’t quick draw to trigger with avatar4 for more grace of the land stacks. I personally don’t think that the SC zerker druid is worth it, SC could clear the raid with anything though. (I own a mini Karde)

From experience, the silence means some huge announcement or overhaul is in the works. Don’t know if that’s a good thing or bad thing though. . . .

There’s no doubt in my mind they’re reading the forums here and on Reddit though. The complaining has reached near-epic levels.

And rightly so.

We had silence in the ranger forums for a long time before, no major overhaul ever happened.

No surprise that there is no general consensus, it really depends on the raid comp too. That said, if you aren’t a healer & tank in one thing Magi’s armor is totally viable. You will have more healing power than zealots & that does translate to more group dps as some ppl mentioned earlier in the thread. Right now I’m planning to run magi’s armor & staff with cleric trinkets & swap gear as needed to not exceed the toughness of the tank. (probably with zerker pieces) Our druid started out as a condi ranger on the first 2 bosses & then on Sabetha he went zealots + clerics. Still I feel that maximizing healing & buff uptimes is the most important. When you are not in avatar form you should make sure you will have enough energy by the time it comes off CD to reenter it right away & swapping weapons is not great since quick draw works with celestial avatar skills and you don’t want to trigger it prematurely with a weapon swap. It’s all about maximizing grace of the land(and the other buffs in our utility bar) the rest is almost negligible. I guess a longbow or shortbow on swap for breaking & cc-ing is a great idea.

TLDR: Zealots & magi’s are both nearly equally good if you are a dedicated healer, clerics & nomads are also good if you are tanking & healing in one.

I’m at a loss, I have several times reported this graphical bug with the eyes, where the blinking animation doesn’t work properly. Yet this has been ignore so far. Now, I now what you might say “It’s just a nitpick” but really… it just looks unprofessional that they didn’t even bother to look at this. Several typo bugs that one reports also don’t get attention ever.

Now, I don’t ask for me… but all I really want is my tiger to gain the ability to blink properly. Please

This is one the least important bugs in the game, I wouldn’t expect it fixed ever.

Just because something has intricate details it doesn’t mean it isn’t ugly. Personally I think these are pretty kitten bad, but thanks to medium armors being generally bad it’s still in the top 6-7.

The fact that we can toggle anything should make people happy, and if Anet never added these shoes, none of this QQ would be here.
It’s a rare drop off something you can only run into with a mastery, think of it instead as a extra “prize” you might be able to get.
Imagine if they were account bound….. which easily could have been done.

And like others have mentioned, prices will fluctuate, and they depend on the community demand. If people will pay 1.5k gold, then great, doesn’t mean you have to.

You cannot be serious, about 4 of them were sold on the TP total..

I just wish they made the toggle a reality, this is really annoying. I was content with my ugly boots, but now that I know this item exists I cannot help but think about it while in game looking at my current kitten ugly boots.

I have the Bifrost & it probably works the same. Only skill 2 & 5 are affected. Skill 5 displays the converted projectiles as rainbows. (pretty amazing imo) I wouldn’t expect anything else.

Thanks for the input, I don’t have Bifrost so I didn’t know that. The 3 skill doesn’t have any rainbow trails following you when you use it?

These are simple stupid errors that in pretty much any other industry, except gaming, would have been picked up in QC (that’s Quality Control – the process of making sure your product works; not QA, which is the process of making sure your QC works. Just so’s you know. Princess.). And corrected at source. Before release. Princess.

I’m not trying to defend Arena net here, but looking at the widespread light-bleeding situation with current affordable tier led display panels, or the coil whine of the current generation Maxwell GPU cards (especially 9 50s,60s & 70s) or I could name quite a few other things, things just aren’t that simple anymore, good QC is expensive, replacing a dud free of charge might be less expensive.

My problem is not that things are broken at release, it’s that they aren’t even always fixed, or sometimes the time for fixes is just incredibly long. The game isn’t very polished in that sense.

This whole “I don’t remember exactly” thing is super funny too. Had I gotten one, we would already have a screenshot of me having one in the bouncy chest window ..

I only said so because i wanted seem to be sold first.
If i told you where, you all would start farming and my chance of selling them would go down.

Not really. You pretty much move the corsair to that guy and that guy is your target. It’s like Counter Strike now.

Tab targeting is rendered obsolete by AC, but that does not mean everyone likes AC. So if you like your FPS/TPS, then AC is for you. I personally don’t like the AC that much unless I’m on a ranger or something because it doesn’t feel very MMO to me.

give it time, in a few months it’ll be 300g or so. rare drops are supposed to be rare, just like dusk. you don’t find dusks from endlessly slaying mobs all day, you find it by raw luck.

Hopefully so. I still think they should keep an eye on these and decide where they want these to be at, rarity-wise. Invisible Boots haven’t even made it to the trading post once yet, and there is typically not even any pair of invisible shoes on the trading post for sale at any given time.

I think, from my experience, where these are at now are more frustrating to get than anything. You play games to have fun and to earn things you want. I’ve been having a lot of fun in HoT, but I have played enough to max my HoT masteries and I feel like the reward side of things (especially the armor skins) is lacking.

If they were to make these a bit more easily accessible (even if that means making these account bound) I think that would be a good thing and a plus for the rewards from HoT. I simply feel that there’s great opportunity for people to get something cool from a specific feature in the game, but it’s (once again) being degraded into “Oh, you’ll probably never get this item naturally, so just farm the gold for it and buy it.” That makes me sad, annoyed, and frustrated.

So, yes, in my humble opinion I think it would be better for the game and those that want these if they’re made account bound and have their rarity significantly reduced. These are from a mastery that requires invisibility detection, after all. How are players without it even supposed to see them and buy them off the trading post? :P

That’s because you didn’t read my suggestion.

My suggestion was to make them fully account bound and increase the drop rate. That helps to keep these items away from the ludicrous trading post market, deliver the item to those that actually want to use them (which I would assume being the whole purpose of their creation in the first place — unless their purpose is meant to troll, and if that’s the case they’re doing a great job as is), and increase the value of the invisible detection mastery.

But they are already tied in with invisible detection mastery! Yes, but they probably have, like, a one in a thousand chance to drop (if not lower) and you only get six attempts per day. That’s also only for one pair.

Ah ye I see it now, I apologize I’m kind of super tired. Yeah that would totally work, as long as the drop-rate is above 2%.

I don’t think I recall seeing a more borked expansion pack than this – it even gives Trials of Atlantis / DaOC a run for its money.

I don’t know man Warlords of Draenor was pretty kitten bad. Not only was it completely utterly unplayable in the first week, other than raiding & 4 days of leveling it had no content at all.

I’m running close to max settings on my 4gb r9 380 & only had 1 oom crash in dragon’s stand so far, even though I’ve been doing that meta event a lot.

I wouldn’t play Druid in a party as condi at all, you would not be able to generate the AF from attacks alone to use the CAF in a decent time frame.

Actually you can. I know because I have. Traited Glyphs play a large role in this.

Basically the best way to charge AF is to both damage and heal at the same time.

I didn’t say you couldn’t I just said that I wouldn’t. Unless you are using staff, the AF generation is going to be too slow if you are focusing on a decent amount of healing. Even if you ran all glyphs. Since there are no conditions on the staff, and only 3 poison stacks on one glyph, you’d need precision for Sharpened Edges and there are no sets with condi, healing and precision on them. If you are using glyphs for the heals, you are not doing much condi damage. If you are using A/T for condi damage, you can’t build the AF quickly. So an optimal build cannot be made. Sure, it will work but its far from a good setup. If you want to play pure condi Druid, it should work just fine, but you won’t be doing much in the way of healing.

This is why I was advocating for conditions to be put onto the Staff, then you could play condi healer effectively.

I’ve been playing condi A/T druid since I started fractal-ing again. You don’t lose much damage by just having the druid line equipped, I think. You have two choices to go from there, I actually tried both, haven’t decided on which I like better. One is have staff+A/T. If you go this route you will have more consistent access to healing if your group needs it. Quick Draw will proc upon leaving the celestial avatar form & when you are in downtime mode (bonfire & trap both are on cd) you can just pop avatar & give grace of the land to ppl, which is a dps increase over auto-attacking with axe. The other is the usual pure A/T. Without the staff you will still be able to pre charge astral force before the fight & most of the time just play like you normally play A/T. If there is a dangerous situation you pop avatar & after that you can regain force in a reasonable time frame using troll’s unguent as you healing skill.
Ppl are not yet used to playing with druids, you need to chase dying folks down (yay, don’t I love to do that), perhaps after the novelty fades I’ll just go back to regular A/T, luckily for me I no longer need to do the dredge fractal. Healing underwater is just fantastic, I can literally never catch up to those 10% HP I must swim away dudes.

About OP’s question. I play mostly sinister with just enough vipers pieces so burning is maxed out with budget food.

Right now I play with malice + smoldering sigils. Full sinister, except the weapons. I just switched them to vipers. If you do this you waste 1% of extra burn duration, but not entirely since you got bleeds too. (swapping legendary stats is free & I have no money right now, nor I expect to have any in the near future)

The thing is all you listed, bloodpryrope, can be done with the damage skill on passive. The smoke assault is a good skill but it doesn’t need to be on demand, unlike the smoke field.

Not necessarily. You’re going to want to save the teleport for when you really need it. Otherwise if it’s on cooldown, the smokescale will try to run around the map to get after the opponent and then it’ll go out of range and be unable to teleport to them, or just teleport back to you. And you want to use it when you know you’ll be able to oneshot them, otherwise you’re just wasting a cooldown on a player who’s going to be able to reset anyways.

…Unless you mean swapping from a different pet to the smokescale, in which case it’d might work, but that’s not always going to be ideal.

I do agree an on-demand smokefield provides better utility across multiple game modes, but I can see why some people are arguing strongly for Smoke Assault to stay. If anything we should be asking Anet to give us a second pet since I HIGHLY doubt they’re going to rework pets so we can select what skills they use.

While I do agree with the second pet being ideal, is it realistic? Yes it would take 5 minutes to make & an hour to playtest, but they added no new pet in the 3 years the core game had…

I was thinking that smokescale could be the “new” pet that has the smoke field and low damage and the current smokecale could be just copied over for the new pet called XYZscale (couldn’t come up with a name in 3 days).

Wow. Because if the WHOLE CLASS hinged on one f2 skill, then that’s pretty much proof positive that skill is busted. Thanks for clarifying that this absolutely needed to get changed, likely for the weaker.

Man, think of all those poor useless rangers out there who don’t even have the stupid pet.

It did not hinge on it, it was just a much anticipated feature. Imagine what would happen if engis lost smoke bomb. It’s almost exactly the same thing. (bomb kit skill vs. pet f2)

Guys the smokescale in it’s current form isn’t good in pve period, if you are afraid of losing the pvp burst, I think you should try out a snow owl or raven in pvp, the burst skill of those birds does great dmg, afak it is less reliable, but in exchange they can apply passive pressure that the smoke scale just cannot do. Or are you guys playing the sickem build???

Why would you not be ok with the semi-controllable random smoke assault that is similar to how a brutal charge or tail swipe works?

Because I never was satisfied with random Tail Swipe, either.

And I never found any real reason why should I want smoke field. I support a theory that “not everybody is supposed to replace everyone else
I want classes for skipping which are Thieves and Engies. And I don’t feel like I need to have closer to any of them when I know I’ll never be on par with my 2 almighty blasts and a pet ruining the skipping.

It’s like saying we no longer need classes with water fields in the game. Because we can use the item Healing Seed.
Do you see where the idea goes?

The pet does not ruin skips (that’s what tonics are for) & the 2 blasts are fine, since blasting is a group effort. What you need to understand is that having a smoke field means that you will be taken in a fractal group as a ranger, opposed to not being taken.

Let’s not forget the absurd amount of agony res you need for high lvl fractals. I don’t want to pay 500g+ just on agony infusions, or t. reagents for infusions. Ascended gear is/was meaningful, agony resistance gold gating just isn’t.

They should nerf Sic ’Em damage, so people who don’t use it don’t get their pets nerfed.

It’s always those pet buff burst builds that ruin it. Signet of the Wild + Sic ’Em and you get 25%+40% more damage on your pet. Then they make a video about how OP it is (because it is), but the problem is not the pet, but Sic’ Em damage. So they have to balance pets based on the idea that you WILL run it with Signet of the Wild + Sic ’Em and burst people down.

Now running Smokescale barely does any damage without Beastmastery, Signet of the Wild and Sic ’Em.

I don’t know about that, I think the burst opener it did was crazy, even without any additional boost. I just don’t get the ridiculous skill swap …
