I think it’s pretty easy the answer. For those of you that want a meta answer of your “problem”, if you fight and have normal speed, you could dodge all enemies with ease. Your speed is slowed to make the fight even. Else, they’d have to increase all mobs speed, and im pretty sure you dont want that.
And those of you who just want to go through a pack of zombies and not have a single trouble: welcome to real world fellas. You cant go on a field trip in the fields of destruction. Monsters are aggressive for a reason.
I hate grinding. The difference is that i can skip it, you can do it anyway! : )

What happened to their line of releasing the game when its ready? Your even admitting that the pvp aspect of the game was not ready. So they released the game when it was not ready.
I’m not defending their position, i’m telling you how things are. The “when its ready” phrase could have been merely a marketing thing or they got pressure from somewhere and they had to release it. Or they could have thought that the game being at 90-95% was ready enough.
The PvP is raw from the point that the system for Spvp is not well thought, its more rewarding to skirmish than winning. The Tpvp part is something you are pretty much only able to see when people starts playing it and makes the best combos they find, in this case the bunker type. Or maybe they intended it in some way, who knows, im speculating.

Wanting to change of build with a legendary must be a real pain.
If want to go pvp, i’ll give you my build, that works pretty well for me:
Traits 0/0/0/30/10/30. Infusion of shadow, hidden thief and Shadow’s rejuvenation, Vigorous recovery and Uncatchable, Bountiful Theft and Hastened Replenishment.
The build is based on spamming 3 and going invi when needed to heal. Shadow’s rejuvenation gives A LOT of heal with Shadow refuge. Besides that, Spider Venom to apply in somewhat middle combat to take 33% of healing and Roll of initiative also to escape from bursts.
If in Spvp, you can add the prec/cond dmg/tough necklace, and a sigil of earth to a dagger to try to get a few more bleeding stacks.

No, the debuff would be unfair at this point. Winning or losing doesnt almost affect your glory income, therefore it would just make you lose your time and not even try, going afk or doing stupid things.
They must first fix the rewards, then punish for leaving.
People volunteering gives them points like the winning team even if they lose.
But the problem goes further than just rage-quitting. Winning by points is pretty much useless, if you want to gain glory you skirmish, you take a point and then leave it in search of people to kill.
With A LOT of luck, they’ll address this problem in the next patch with, for example, a reward a lot better to the team they win. Else, smart people will just look for a good team that owns and win glory by killing everyone.
Everyone would stack Cond/Vit/Toughness if it were available. There would be no other options.

I think it’s not a bug. What happens is that when you use the same traits for pvp and pve, they overlap so they go blank to re-set. Since the characters dont seem to have an internal memory for two types of traits, they just go blank to avoid problems.
i know that they can get you if you are off-guard, hope they nerf it, etc etc etc etc…
But am i the only one that from the moment it gets paralyzed to the floor, looks madly for the “break stun”key?

Well, you don’t like pretty much anything in the game, i don’t know why you play it… I love hearts and vistas, some are quite original (as others are not, of course). Some DE’s depending on the people can be pretty rough. And the dungeons with an organized team who gets the game can do it smoothly, yep. New content will be released, hopefully harder, and we will get more things to do. At the time this is all there is, yeah. But I repeat, you really don’t enjoy almost anything in the game, i don’t know why you play it heh.

I think Anet should do cyclic events for a whole day for those special occasions, so everyone can be at it. At some places its way too late, some way too early, and some people just must or want to do other things than staying in a game. For example, in Argentina last sunday was the year event of “Zombie Walk”, where more than a thousand people reunite and go as zombies through the city, and I wanst going to lose it because i had to see what happened in a virtual game…
You dont always get what you like, its as simple as that…
People dont like to WvW, people prefer selling rather than salvaging, people dont like dungeons. And every month will change so, there-s no really point for complaining. :/
The game doesnt change if you dont achieve it anyway, and is clear now that the monthly achievment will require you to go through all the aspects of the game.

GW1 was the kitten. A class and a subclass, and around 500 skills or more to combine in a single 8 set. Your imagination was the end for the number of combinations you could do. So much fun making your OWN playstyle.
To keep the good image in your head, i suggest you to leave the forums now eheheh. Just to be clear and not get an erased message, there’s a lot of negativity and “the game should be like this because I say so” here.
you can ask in the map chat of the dungeon or in lion’s arch that you are looking for a group (lfg (dungeon) (story/exp)). Or join a guild.
Those two are the only methods by now to get a party to go on dungeons (hopefully there’ll be more).

It’s not really realistic anyways. And besides, we have no idea how real fighting in a world with magical powers would work. It’s like someone from the middle ages trying to describe “realistic” combat with jet fighters.
You make some good points about potential problems with the system but this is a bad point. We know what lightning and fire do to people. Here’s an easy test: would you accept what you see in GW2 if you saw it in a film? I think not.
Now, going to what to propose (implying you are just new and not trolling): making a normal fight last around a minute would make it tedious and terribly repetitive. Not even to mention if its a boss.
sigh The point is to keep the fights lasting whatever they last now. I thought it was around a minute. My point is that the only change is the way the fight is visually represented, not the mechanics or how long it lasts.

Welcome to a thread where I try to envisage mmorpgs being better than they are, and people looking back on this era and not being able to understand why so many of us put up with so much that was ridiculous when the alternatives were obvious and reachable.
I don’t know why you expect reality, when its not the point. I mean, you set someone on fire and that’s some problem for the enemy to keep fighting. Same for electricity. The game COULD although make another animation for when they are blinded or snared to the floor. But that’s about it I think. You are thinking a whole new game rather than just a change.

And you expect that the whole community moves like that? I have to help others in order to get what i want? Why should I? That’s not how i want to spend my short time in the game i can play a day. I want sometimes to run dungeons, and in other moments i get bored of them and maybe dont go to one in 2 weeks, then i farm more pieces of my cosmetic armor. And that IS totally fine, because that’s how i want to play. I dont have to be by anyways attached to other people needs.
And this is not a selfish this statement. I paid for a game, and i want to play it when and how i want it. And if i want to run all my armor in 3 days and not enter a dungeon for two months, I should be able to do it with no problems at all.

Its just a part of the event. Doesnt really change anything if you dont do it, they prize is just a couple of slippers. Remember that there are 2 phases more to come!

Sorry to tell you, but it’s totally flawed. If im a WvW player, i have to have a guild for WvW and switch to de PvE one to go PvE? And if i have also one for pvp i have to have a third guild for tPvP? Kind of impractical don’t you think? :/
If it really was a good guild with friends, then why are you complaining? If they were your friends, they would run dungeons with you when you need help. If they are blowing you off when you want to do dungeons, then they aren’t really your friends now are they? True friends would help you out as long as you are helping them.
And what is wrong with having multiple guilds? The feature is in the game for a reason. It is designed so if you want that guild of nothing but friends, you can still join that PvP guild and that farming guild if you want as well. Then whenever you want to do other things, represent whichever guild it calls for. AND, if they are your friends, they will understand that you want to do other things, so you will be representing another guild for a bit to do those other things.
Otherwise, I think you should be questioning your friendship with these people more than anything else if they won’t help you with anything.
What the kitten? Man, if they are in WvW, they’ll stay in WvW. If they are having fun in PvP, i wont disturb them because i want to do other thing. That reasoning is really dumb man…

It improves my odds of getting the dungeon maybe, considering they wont kick me from it for just being a while representing and not helping really with the sense of that guild to PvE.

But I enjoy being in a guild with fellas i have fun, but they dont always do dungeons, they do a little of all. And I dont want to be in another guild. The game itself SHOULD facilitate this. The game cant expect that there will be always people at all time in the dungeon entrance looking for a team.

I stopped using it because it was just a faceless grind with random people. What ArenaNet should do, is encourage better grouping through guilds to do dungeons. Better rewards, without having to rely on a random dungeon finder.

There is no point to a LFD feature when you can easily take care of the problem yourself by finding a guild that does speed clears or runs dungeons all the time. It really isn’t that hard.
Why do I have to take care of this matter myself? Why do i have to be on a guild that does a lot of pve to be able to do a dungeon? And what if they dont want to when im able to play? What do I do then?
Yup. I can’t find a team to do TA with me. I get usually up to 3, then they leave because nobody joins.
The “lfg” status is not really useful if people cant know what you are looking for.

Which class for example is pve focused? I find myself kicking every class and getting kicked by every class. There are certain skills that its just ridiculous to use in pvp, as the same for pve, but you cant make everything for everything, its pretty obvious.
YES, more modes are coming, give them time. There are no dates or anything, but i’ve read they will come. : )

Its the concept of submerging you into the game. If you just say “oh, i could be doing something else to get exp faster”, you are just meta-gaming this game. Like playing D&D with numbers and figurines and skipping the role part. Complete waste, and yourself complaining how the game lacks of things that you are just not wanting to see.
