Henge of Denravi Server

If you are saying to develop a system to merge the two guilds together, accumulating their influences and upgrades, that sounds reasonable.
But, if you are saying to develop a system for your own convenience, I think that too self-centered. Whatever you mentioned are nothing more than your personal dealing with other individuals which can be easily accomplished on your part. Developing a system that will only be used once a while is not realistic.
I believe TS is looking for a content where guild “warring” has a purpose or purposes.
Purpose can be seen as a logicial, not emotional, reason to do something.
For example, the purpose of doing fractal repeatedly can be farming for certain gears or items.
I have joined the game too, with the mislead information that there exist a game design where guild has a purpose but after joining the game, I realise, anet does not have any slightest intention to have any guild related game designs. Anet leaving a impression that a guild is simply a social group and nothing more. There are mmorpgs which recognize the differences between a guild/clan and social groups to the point that they have a separate social tabs in which one can join as many social groups as they want while restricted to one and only one guild/clan.
TS, it is unfortunate, gw2 is genuinely a PvE game.
Nothing much, no significant game changes. It is the same old guild wars 2 with just a bit of new dungeons, items, convenience and balances.
Anet already performing a PvE merge for all servers, it is just a matter of time before they merge WvW as well.
Looks like my prediction is coming true when I say HOD will win the silver league.
Now, wonder if HOD’s NA people has the stamina to last till may.
Yea, while it is a awesome thing for PvE, it creates a very strong segregation for WvW and PvE. It also does create a certain degree of confusion. So, if guilds are to recruit players from general PvE ground, guilds have to take extra care to recruit players or they might mess up their guilds.
The Trinity system is irrelevant in leveling. I don’t know why you brought it up. The Trinity is relevant in organized PVE of Dungeons and Raids.
It depend on the games designs and you don’t seems to have played much games. Deploying trinity affect the design of the game as a whole. There are game that force you to level up by partying with others. There are games that give their priest class one uber AOE skill so they can slowly grind themselves. End game might be the most important factor to most people but that doesn’t mean that the progressiveness from level 1 to max level can be ignored.
If gw2 is to have the classic trinity, gw2 has to redesign the entire game completely. Of course, everyone should know that it is impossible. Gw2 do have their forms of trinity, but because a class is capable of providing both damage and support needs, most people wanted something more defined. That’s what I interpreted from the complains.
Indeed, like some said, gw2 lack roles.
The trinity system define the roles and they build the game around those roles. You want to level up, you need to bring a healer for faster leveling. You want even faster leveling, you need a tank to lure all the mobs to do aoe or to fight much higher level monsters. DPS is just there to help kill faster before the mobs overwhelm the party. Trinity system enforce teamwork or team play.
Gw2 tries to balance everything in term of combative level. For what purpose? For the almighty e-sports. Gw2’s trinity will never work if gw2 continue to balance according to combative level, trinity is about teamwork and not about individual.
I don’t understand the idea of trinity balance.
Does that means that healer can defeat a fighter? That’s not balance, that’s making healer OP.
As mentioned the system do this by prioritizing certain conditions.
Your “current” server will be the priority.
Follow by “guild” as second priority.
So, if you are on the same server and the same guild, you will be surely be placed in the same instance. They mentioned they want the same server to be grouped together, thus, same server will likely to be in the same instance as long it isn’t full.
Hi guys I am in Sorrows Furnace Server but I want to switch out to Crystal Desert or another Server! But tomorrow is the Spring Tournament start date so if I switched to a different server would I not be able to participate in the tournament?
Example: SF 6-8 hours later (I’m about to sleep soon so ill be doing transfer on tournament day 1) > transfer > CD GoM etc… Couple hours later Tournament starts= Me participating or no?
I am not sure if transfer is still open when I post this, didn’t bother to check. I read that there are people receiving warning message yet still able to enter WvW. So, I assume you will not be able to enter WvW if you transfer after the reset timing. Gotta need deve to confirm this.
HOD’s NA population is huge, they have morning and afternoon NA people who don’t work or study at those times. In long term, it won’t last, they will become like mag. In short term, they will win the silver league.
You can try [OCAU] in Crystal Desert. Is free transfer now to Crystal Desert.
You can try [OCAU] in Crystal Desert.
The last login indeed is a nice additional, won’t be as tedious to look at achievement page for last achievement date. It is also will be more accurate in comparison.
What timezone are you from?

no reward but i still like playing pvp though, had a few tpvp runs with my guildies
The topic has side-tracked too much.
Anyway, regarding guild going to other servers and recruit people, isn’t it normal? I am unsure of what flashy advertisement message guilds have applied but whatever kind of flashy messages they applied, they are just simply recruiting people for their guilds. If their flashy messages don’t seems appropriate, it only reflects them on their lack of social awareness. However, that doesn’t necessary means that there are no guilds going around recruiting people in a less flashy manner.
The point is there will always be guilds in this period of time going around recruiting people by their own means. However, if your sense of self-righteousness forbid you to go to any other servers to recruit people, that’s your problem, that’s how you want to grow your guild, so be it.
Lastly, base on your moral standard or logic, AR must be bad because TFT hijacked the thread with no intend to provide a sincere advise to TS’s question. TBH, I have this feeling that AR is indeed a bad place to go, I feel sorry for TS’s thread to be hijacked when he/she is merely asking for advise on which server has OCX presence and who knows, it become a political thread for the self-righteous people.
I think mod should lock this thread.
1) Features
2) Bugs
3) Optimize engine
I’ve started to lose a lot of interest in WvW over the past few months. Changes simply take too long to roll out, balance has never improved, and we’ve been playing the same, tired meta for a very long time now.
I started asking myself: how did I play WvW for as long as I did? While doing WvW for fun’s sake is certainly enough motivation at times, it can’t be the only thing. At some point, the player’s making content for themselves in the form of large scale, repetetive PvP wares thin.
So why aren’t there more rewards for actually doing WvW? Why don’t the badge vendors have a larger selection of skins? Why doesn’t winning a week have a real, noticeable impact on anything? Why are WXP chests filled with nothing of value? why don’t we unlock cool finishers based on our WXP rank like we could do in PvP?
I then started asking myself what other games offered that kept me playing them for so long? What did these other games offer to keep PvP fresh and exciting? And what is GW2 lacking? I honestly don’t know.. but something’s missing.
So does anyone else out there know what the point of WvW is? Obviously we do it for fun? But is that enough? Should it be enough?
When I start playing WvW, few weeks later I got bored. I can never understand how people can play for months. I guess the level of fun just can’t satisfy me.
Looking at a potential server transfer, and wondering which of the FREE servers has good oceanic coverage?
Thanks
CD has a ocx guild called [OCAU].
I don’t think any free server has a significant coverage during ocx though my guild has a few aus transferring in.
I like trinity, is a proven concept. Why proven? Many MMOs has adapted it and it works, I am not talking about WOW, I don’t care about WOW’s fanboys or haters. Trinity concept has been since used before WOW.
Some MMOs didn’t define the line of trinity clearly and leave some flexibility to players. Some MMOs define the line and expect players to accept it.
All these MMOs generally has a good idea of the concept and able to adjust the concept to fit their needs.
Gw2 challenge the concept and improvise their own, however, a theory cannot be true if it cannot be proven. Gw2 still unable to prove their concept and still trying hard to do so, they have no choice but keep trying to make it work, they can’t simply rework entire gw2, right?
PS: opps, grammar
Big bumpy for TIME frenz and share some goodz with us in wub wub skyshroud
:’)
The handful that transferred weren’t original CV anyway. We were housing them when SD broke down. Some SD stayed in CV, and are still here today.
Glad that you are getting transfers, we’re getting some ourselves… Ironically I hear a couple of guilds that are coming here are from CD. If some of ours are going over, it sounds like both our servers will be exchanging players. Should be interesting. :p
Indeed, it is interesting, HOD has shown resilient after falling from tier 1 to the last tier and raising back up again. Though CD too have dropped some tiers with the lost of guilds throughout the period, but HOD seems to suffer more with the lost of the history’s strongest WvW alliance. It is really interesting to see how this transfer period will turn out. Will HOD raise back to tier 1 with this transfer? Will CD raise back to tier 2 with this transfer? Which gold league server will fall this time? Free transfer is always interesting to watch, so many servers got destroyed during the free transfer back then.
=,=||
ok good luck, i thought warrior is really good :O
[CV] is still on HoD, and we’re an international guild with a leader from the US and one from Singapore (that’s probably how you drew your conclusions). Other than us, there is a Taiwanese guild, and a guild from Hong Kong. HoD is home to all of us, we’re not about to move, tho thank you for the invite.
I am glad that [CV] is still operating. But, I heard from a person that a portion of [CV]’s SEA transferred to SOS. So, I am curious on how many SEA in [CV] still remain in HOD. With that, it also reflect how many SEA are actually in HOD.
I do understand that HOD has a number of tw and hk but they seems lost and lonely, a few joined [TIME] and they will be transferring to CD.
Well, I do want you guys to come over but if you insist to stay in HOD, that’s fine. I have quite a number of mails and whispers from interested individuals coming over to CD, some are from HOD’s individuals.

Same problem on chrome, latest version, 33.0.1750.154.
Seems like the cookie is not handled properly, not expired properly or something.
80 is pretty high. You looking for level 100? 200?
Content = something like living story, SAB, wintersday, halloween etc I think.
Features = something that result in permanent changes to gw2’s core I think.
I do hope they optimize the engine more, especially for “crowd” situation.

Gotta agree with styx about the “hardcore” guilds part, in most cases these “hardcore guilds” transfer because they believe they are hardcore. Upon reaching their destination server they lose 1/2 their members to truly “hardcore guilds” and end up becoming just another failed attempt thus realizing just how “Hardcore” they actually are not.
I’ve seen it happen on several occasions throughout my journey’s, that’s not to say it happens to every guild though just the truly blind ones that believe they are “Hardcore” yet couldn’t win a match or fight against half their numbers.
Looks like someone understand how things really are. I find it lonely to be the few that thinks that way, I find it amusing that people think that coming from top tier = pro, hahahhaha.
This is fascinating, if they really do go there as you said, they will become the sole small SEA/OCEANIC population in HOD. I mean, is [CV] and [SD] still alive? I remember [CV] is a small singapore-based guild but I have not seen them for quite a while. If they are alive and kicking, I will actually invite them to come onto CD and join up with the rest of the singaporeans, afterall CD has the most SEA among all the free servers, in fact, it might also be the only free server with significant SEA players.
That’s weird, on my side I received confirmation of SEA guild joining CD. Is your source even credible?
interesting change. so they making the battle more realistic and logical, then if they even change how AC interact too, wow, interesting.
Some people are complaining about others who don’t use the rally system properly, but in my opinion the whole rally mechanic contributes to the “noob bubble”.
What I see in most speed-run dungeon/fractals groups are people spamming their DPS rotations and not caring about getting downed, and still managing to successfully clear the content, simply because they keep rallying. This game already has an almost non-existent death penalty, so why make death even harder to happen?
Aww, I love the rally system. There are times when I get surrounded and thanks to the rally system, I managed to clear all.
However, there are people who didn’t take advantage of the rally system. When they are down, they didn’t take the initiative to hit a dying mobs or players to rally themselves up. They continue to allow themselves to remain down. I guess this also draw the lines between skilled and unskilled players.
Side tracking a little, since the world “bubble” is used, i assume it will burst, so what will happen if it burst?
Back to topic. Let’s talk logically. Players are free creatures. Players have no obligations or whatsoever to do whatever they don’t want to do. In that case, they are also free to impose whatever requirements they want with their PUG group. Thus, if a player who knows that they are not going to meet these requirements yet insist to join that PUG group, the player should be expecting something unfavourable in return.
However, there also players who are willing to help others conditionally or unconditionally. In that case, I believe TS should be seeking for these players since this is what TS needs. I believe forcing the entire world to change inorder satisfy TS is unreasonable and logically impossible as players are free creatures. Even if anet do implement what TS suggested, players are creatures with intelligent and they will find ways to impose new requirements.
I sincerely advise TS to find a nice guild which is willing to teach and help new players. Of course, in return, please repay the guild by helping the guild in their activities. Not gold please, that is insulting their integrity.

TBH, such a change will require a redesign on many maps.
All of these game are designed with guild vs guild or alliance vs alliance in mind, having these guilds or alliances holding points. These game embrace pking and pking is a main part of these games.
But, guild wars 2 is focus on peaceeeeeeee and loveeeeeeeee between players. So, things that might lead to players conflicts may be at the bottom of development list.
Though, it did be nice if they redesign the entire WvW thingy and make it more interesting and meaningful.
I guess they base it on a simple logic that…
1. These servers are the bottom of their league
2. Better rewards are given to the winner of the league
3. If players are to transfer, they would like to transfer to the server with highest chance of winning the league.
4. If many servers are given “free” transfer including the potential winner of the league, then, most likely the people will transfer to the potential winner than the loser.
5. They don’t want people to be transferring to the top well-to-do servers, so they impose a high cost.
6. They want people to spread out yet they don’t want people to flood the potential winner server so they come up with the these costings.
7. Any server lower than 16 might or might not join the 13-15 but even if they do join, they only force these server WvW population to go closer towards 20-24. As a matter of fact, 20-24 might actually end up the winner of the league because they are too having free transfers, who know some guilds with guts from top servers might transfer down.

Hi TS, I believe you are the one who had contacted me. =)
Logically thinking, I would consider the existence of SEA and OCEANIC presence as the main factor to determine the possibilities of sever’s WvW progression (and maybe PvE as well) in long term basis. SEA and OCEANIC presence are pretty much the rare breeds in Guild Wars 2, many servers are seeking for it. Whether or not a server can progress forward pretty much depend on the coverage a server can provide. By thinking along those lines and with the information given, it might help you determine the server which can satisfy your needs during your duration of stay.
New squad system might be include in a big features patch which is coming soon.
I remember vaguely that a feature patch will be delivered before the next living story season.
We are talking not about profit from play WvW. We are talking about fun and pvp with siege\tactic\strategy and victory! Guild wars 2 become mood for such type of players…We don`t enjoy it anymore!
Just because you yourself playing guild wars 2 in that way doesn’t necessary means others will play the game in the same way. If you and the “we” people don’t enjoy it any more, well, too bad for you and the “we” people.
Generally, gw2 is a PvE game, the lore/background story/etc etc support that. None of the stories has shown WvW having any impact on the overall story. WvW is nothing more than a extension of the game to satisfy the players needs to pk. In other words, WvW is not a integrated part of the overall plot.
It also because of that, many doesn’t have much interest to WvW as it has little to no impact to the overall progression. “So what we win WvW? So what we lose WvW?” It doesn’t matter, it won’t leave any impact to the story or progression and since it doesn’t impact anything, it is not important. If anyone need to do dungeons, no worries, you can do it through LFG. If anyone need to do living story, no worries, you can guest to other servers. If anyone need badges, no worries, you can obtain them through achievement chests and jumping puzzles. Want a fast match where you can be there from the start to the end, we have EOTM! So, what purpose does WvW serve? Some might say WvW buffs, seriously, those are a joke.
