When you truly learn how to PvP and the dynamics of it you’ll learn 2 things. A guardian w/ 2-4 guys around him that’s bunker is truly one of the hardest things to kill in PvP. And a solo bunker warrior regen is the second.

So I ask:
1.Was it a guardian
—If yes was he using staff?
——If Yes again he was probably a pure bunk cleric guardian w/ Altruistic healing and everything like it which in a group fight, you almost cant win. Because he gains like 400 health per kitten near every skill he uses.
2.Was it a warrior?
—If yes was he using a Hammer/Mace Shield and a Banner
——If yes he was a bunker banner build, these guys have something like 700-800 healing per second so if your damage is anything less than that, then you’re screwed.
3. Was it a combination of those 2?
—If yes then don’t even stand on that point, it’s pointless (heh get it?). But you’re talking about a guard who gives about 400 health a second on average w/ all heals, maybe more I didnt do any math. And a warrior w/ 700 health a second, i mean. 1.1k healing a second is GG.

If this was in hotjoins you probably should have left there, went to their home, and won that seperating the bunkers giving you a chance to win one or the other.

Another thing- Thieves do amazing 1v1 damage and even 1v2, but they are not the solution to everytime you need DPS. In Hotjoins, Zerker staff ele/well necro are AOE DPS that is very effective and if ti was a 6v6 in this hotjoin you coulda melted everyone there.

But to nerf a bunker? No, there’s a build to counter everything.

Hey I play a rank 49 Guardian in both sPvP and tPvP and you want to use hammer eh?

Well to adress your first issue that you habe where you’re being kited, I suggest you do 2 things.
1. Use a scepter/focus or greatsword as your alt weapon. GS has an awesome pull and scepter has an immob and both have burst.
2. Hammer tends to be a tankier weapon type as a gaurdian as it has the slowest attack patter otherthan maybe mace. So maybe try a tank/dps combo? I would suggest GS/HAMMER- 0/0/30/20/20 medi heals and do as you will with the rest.

I’ve ran both bunker and dps guardian in pvp and personally prefer dps running Gs/Sword-Focus. If you have a question in particular or just want to talk I’m online right now if you want to whisp me: Master Slin.

I know multiple guard builds, weapon sets, and have 500+ hours into pvp and 2.2k outsode of pvp with guard so I know the class fairly well.

Edit: I posted that on my phone ^ and didnt realise this was a request to know what’s up w/ a hammer. And here’s my opinion (now that i’m on a comp i read errythang), Hammer is made for bunkers, either going Mace/Shield/Hammer or Staff/Hammer it doesnt matter. There is a DPS build my friend showed me as a GS/HAM 0/0/30/20/20 but idk it’s not an amazing dps comp cause only stat that’s on offense is the one you get medi heals from in that spec. If you’re dying to use hammer and you want it to feel like a greatsword you GOTTA use sword or GS as an alt, cause then you dont needa wait for Judges interven errytime, you have a leap/teleport and an extra burst. If you’re running staff with the hammer then you’re basically a bunker and i would just claim mid and stay there, if someone comes act like a decap engi w/ your knockbacks/lines and finally empower and unleash the mighty blow and auto attack power that is the hammer on a guardian. Without a burst mechanic it simply isnt what the sword/greatsword is… so yea. That’s my opinion.

But what are the current levels required to receive Shark/Pheonix/Dragon.

I know dragon is 55… but shark and pheonix? anyone hook me up with the knowledge?

When running hardcore, the rank 70’s will win 100% of the time, maybe even in 4v5’s simply because they know the mechanics and they will win every time.

When running casual, the ranks 50+ actually play worse than rank 40’s so depends when you catch them

A couple people have said that they have seen terrible rank 60’s but there’s really no such thing when they’re sober and going hard.

Who is the highest rank in PvP? is there someone close to 79 or 80? I’ve never seen anyone above 71 so that’s why i’m asking

Also… is this new patch going to give the dragon stomp to rank 55’s or is it going to bosst rank 55’s to dragon rank? I’m a bit confused on how it all works.

I’m rank 44 so if someone could tell me what this will mean for me i would appreciate it.

So I have a quick question. Does the Empowered Illusions Trait in the Domination line affect your Phantasms DPS as well? Or does it affect the 4-5 damage my clones do.

If it DOES affect my phantasms would combining that with the 25 in Inspiration make a 40% DPS buff on my phantasms?

Kalkz, idk if you know it but Lost left, AF disbanded, Rekz goes casual on bad weeks, so yea… there’s 3 guilds that will never run/wont always run on reset.

So basically SoS and TC have split SoR in half and so they’re both highly competitive servers. SoS and TC used to the the 2 servers where “Who is gonna fill in for SoR” would apply but now, is TC gonna take BG’s spot for garunteed T1 and SoS compete with BG for the third spot? ATM I’m typing this TC will take #1 spot next point tick and so idk.

SoS/JQ/TC would be fun to see, of couse SoS would have to gain approc 50+ rank points to become T1 like TC so that would need to be a blowout week for SoS. TC is 6 rank points from BG, idk… might happen.

Or this buildup i’m thinking of will be stupid and BG will just be the third place server in T1 for a bit then go hard and go back to #2.

Just a side question since all the guilds I’ve been following have gone bye bye.

I know of : Everything Purple, Agg, Apex Prime, Night Shift, Ark, HB, and a few others but just wondering what y’all would consider the best.

Every server has a sort of day crew, all of them do. But to find a 24/7 coverage you’ll want to look at Dragonbrand/Tarnished Coast/Blackgate/Jade quarry

DB is lower tier than these and their day crew is worse than their night but if you’re fighting at night then it’ll work out. TC is moving up in the ranks getting alot of T1 transfers and so they’ll be good company. And obviously BG and JQ are the best servers in GW2 atm.

Well the guilds you’ll be finding on the forums like ApeX/Agg/EP and other top guilds dont require a leader. In my opinion you’ll want to look around at guilds in JQ or BG that have been toning it down a bit in WvW and ask to help out cause usually it’s the guild raid leader that decides they’ll tone it down and not the guild itself (at least w/ my experiences).

I do know for a fact Tarnished Coast has been receiving a lot of guilds and will be bouncing b/w T1 and T2 for awhile if not continuously at T1 and those transfers are from lower tier guilds aka guilds that need an experienced leader. So I would check out TC, but otherwise just scower the lands of the server you’re on. You’re a unique person to find lol, leader with nothing to lead. Very unique.

A good guild of 25 with outnumbered buff can turn the biggest of blobs into farm heaven… sounds like you need a 25 man guilds to run with to experience this.

I’m an avid wvwer and as we all have been asking for is Wxp Im just curious to a ballpark of when WXP will be account bound? I’ve read the wxp and you page and there is no date set… so…. a week? Month? Year? Give me something to look forward to for wvw please

So over the year and a half GW2 has been out, Red Guard, VoTM, and other guilds i’ve enjoyed watching on youtube have retired from GW2 and have stopped recording…

Just so you know… RG is back…

They disbanded again from what I hear. Check their fprums and it says they’re gone again.

To me it just sounds like you like smaller fights which i’ve always felt to be the PvP side of GW2, but with the huge reaction WvW has had not only in GW2 but the spread of influence into other games like TESO it would be called a success. I personally love 20v20 fights and WvW is the only place I can get that if not a bit bigger.

The new map is more PvE friendly as there are mini missions on the side etc, so for someone like you I can understand why you would like it so stick with it, but i would not say “WvW in Guild Wars has so much potential i can’t believe the Devs don’t make good use of it.” because I feel they are doing extremely well with WvW. The only recent complaints to the true WvWers is we want acct bount wxp and to keep the PvE out xD

I’m an experienced guardian looking for a guild that can run hardcore WvW with 20-25 man. I prefer NA servers and to be Borlis Pass or above in rankings. I’ve been looking at T2/T1 servers. Any guilds or servers have something to suggest? I’ve been looking at the recruitment pages and I cant just transfer without knowing how they run, so let me know if you have some room for another guard. I’d appreciate a youtube link if you have one to show how you run

Or… you can suggest a guild to me?

Edit: I’m only curious in JQ or Blackgate guilds, so let me know there. Like i said, extremely experienced and able to change builds as they are needed, just give me time to change it.

So I came from a very similar situation. My ex-guild [RegA] refused to move servers and I was kind of on the edge. I looked around and I found Borlis Pass which is a great server of everything you need.

But to respond to your predicament, you need to transfer. If there’s an issue w/ leaving and the idea that you’re abandoning your guild. You aren’t. You can still run dungeons/guild missions/PvP together but you just can’t do one thing.

From experience I can tell you that WvW at Silver league is similar to bronze league except that the day time is much better at combat. If you move to Dragonbrand, aka Oceanic server on NA servers, you will get a heck of a night crew. If you move anywhere above Yaks Bend/Borlis/ Dragonbrand you’ll be joining zerg city.

So, the option is up to you. If you HATE PvE then you need to transfer, if you’re ok with PvE then learn the challenges there. WvW challenges are to capture keeps and fight groups bigger/better than you and win. PvE is the do obscene things solo and quickly. You’ll learn alot about each class in each dungeon and you’ll be filthy rich after it too.

Hope you can decide on what to do, in essence my opinion is to transfer because there is simply no reason not to.

The PvE would be kinda basic… I mean… 1 healer 4 DPS or something like it. or 1 tank 3 dps 1 healer for how the dungeons work ATM.

But otherwise WvW would be WAY easier for commanders. All they would have to do is find a way to get the the back line (Necro/Ele/Mesmer/Thieves) and kill them… w/o the DPS nor heals there’s no way tanks could survive.

I’m glad how they have it though… roaming would mean you would be thief max DPS but it would be extremely high and then guardians and warriors would be using the armor set that would exist being vit/tough/healing and that would be the best tank ever.

I like GW2, glad it is the way it is

I know there’s alot of stuff about eternity glitching but somewhere in the fact that it is the most expensive weapon in GW2 gets me going… but friends of mine have given me good ideas as well such as use twilight or sunrise as a stacking weapon in WvW and use the other when maxed.

I’m just curious about your opinions. Craft Eternity or keep the two seperate?

I agree with this TO A POINT. When a fight is done I think you should be able to be rezzed… like in combat no rezzing. But 0 rezzing I disagree with because what happens in wvw happens in Dungeons and well, you need to rez in dungeons.

I’m thinking of changing servers and I was wondering what rank of a server still provides zergs during prime time and small 5-15 man groups during off times and round the clock commanding.

I’m currently in DR and I was just curious which ones were on the rise and are about in the middle of WvW ranking.

I don’t think tier one is for me though. Constant zerging isn’t fun to me but it has it’s moments.
