From a BG player pov you shouldnt leave GSCH alone on a map. What they have in numbers they lack in skill. And they do have alot of numbers

Thanks for a great week with lots of good fights you guys. TW Im going to look into a guild vs. guild fight vs. you guys, but our problem is as stated before that we are mostly an EU guild that only rescently started NA recruitment. Once we get some descent numbers, and I get our new guys trained, I´ll contact Indo for some fun.

So what are those 3 maps you are getting double teamed on?

IoJ didnt show up in BG bl. In EB HB had Mendons for 2 hours defending it vs. 50+ IoJ, and in IoJ, BG has been putting up preasure on IoJ and the other way around.

Stop crying and start fighting instead SoR.

Why not liking the guardian for the stuff it brings to a team, instead of disliking it for the stuff it doesnt bring?

Gurdians bring blocking abilities like no other class. #5 on staff, #5 on hammer and sanctuarry can keep people away from your team in open gate defenses for 10+ seconds. Heck even shield #5 works wonders doing that. Guardians also brings stability to the team, along with group retaliation and protection like no other class.

Use it right, and your team will never want to go without you. Here´s a video that shows what im talking about:

Yeah, the coverage gaps are so obvious in this matchup.

We need a shakeup to make it more interesting. Some large force or group of forces needs to tip the balance with any of the 3 servers so this matchup gets put to bed.

Not that it’s not a lot of fun, but changing it up every now and then is a good time too.

I have also seen big guilds from IoJ and SoR not show for days, so it is quite obvious some of you guys are taking days off.. Are you doing fotm or whats going on?

I had some tells and mails regarding what runes I use. I can tell you that I use boon duration runes, which ones you´ll have to look up yourself.

Good fights so far. You should try something other than portal bombs though, we figured after like the 10th time we broke your bomb you guys were going to try something new against us.

Oooh wait a second. You come here to the forums and brag about winning 40+ fights vs. 12 of HB and sometimes the same number of LotD? Even when we didnt have LotD around, we still tried taking you head on. Sure we died some, but we never turn down a fight, and we had alot of fun, and badges, fighting you guys.

Our numbers are still the highest during EU primetime, but hopefully we´ll have more numbers in NA primetime aswel soon.

We didnt. I have the fights recorded so we could learn from them. In one of the fights I open our guild roster and we had 14 online, out of which 12 were in wvw. We do still enjoy fighting you guys, and you are for sure better than some of the bigger guilds on SoR that I wont mention here.

Yeah we are playing Blackgate with RK, KDS and MA from WAR. Well MA and KDS is mostly about PS2 right now, but im sure they´ll be back

So a couple of days ago we had a some good fights i the NA tier2, showing SoR how to portal bomb. They tried the same on us, but even though they had several times our numbers, they failed over and over. I shot this video that shows how its done. Enjoy and leave a comment

Portals are only good if used by good players. Bad players will fail at using portals, just as they failed at using the turtle tactic.

Yeah that’s nice. But tell that to people who work hard for every tic only to loose tics to portal bombing. Oh, I forgot portal boming is easy to defend against. For get the points right?

If you loose points to people bombing you, it either means you are significantly less players than they are, or significantly worse players than they are, in either case you dont deserve the points, and you would most likely have lost them any way.

Portals are only good if used by good players. Bad players will fail at using portals, just as they failed at using the turtle tactic.

I use GS / Hammer for small scale, and staff / mace & Shield for big scale.

You will never do as much damage on a guardian as others do in wvw, so if its white numbers you are after, you might aswel reroll now.
You do however bring something unique to the table. AoE stability ! No other class gives this, so I suggest going in that direction. I run a 0-0-10-30-30 build myself.

Take a look here if you wanna see the playstyle with that build.

My #1 staff spamming is actually to see culling enemies more than anything. In regards of a burn spec, I dont see much – if any, use for condition specs in big scale wvw. Small scale is another storry though.

Thanks for the comment Wont go into more details than I did on the spec already, but I can tell you that I run a mix of invaders and clerics gear. Other guardians in the guild run full clerics, but since I am leading, I need to stay alive no matter what. ( failed on that once I know.. )

ArenaNET your customer base is frustrated! I have seen numbers dwindle in WvWvW at a rapid pace over the past two months and it’s not because of GEAR PROGRESSION or any other such nonsense. These are people who are leaving who LOVED the massive battles, the siege, everything! They didn’t care! They are gone now! They left in disgust!

And you know what the worst part is? You do nothing. I don’t even know if you care.

Sounds to me like you need to counter some of the basics in the game, instead of joining the forums and expect the devs to solve any tactic you cant beat.

We actually see more people from SoR than from IoJ during the EU primetime. LUN from SoR seems to have their primetime in between the EU and EST prime, and gives us a good fight.

Other than the few usual forum warriors from VotF we havent seen them on IoJ during this matchup, so I guess they transfered of.

We were not sure we did a 100% Mesmer sweep, that may of been the issue, however you can’t blame the our server for immediately assuming it was a person exploiting it. There has been several attempts and successful exploiting into Bay’s walls by the Icoa guild.

It wasnt the icoa guild there it was HB + a few pugs.

Still good fights all around. Over the last week, we´ve seen good guilds from both sides adapt to our strategies, and we have picked up a few tricks on the go.
Wouldnt mindt staying in this tier for a couple of more weeks

We do build rams in our own supply camps quite often if we expect it to be retaken by the enemy soon, and we dont want them to get the supplies. From a friendly perspective that could look like a troll.

Just saying it doesnt have to be someone trying to mess with you.

Another thing that totally encourages zerging is the fact that it takes so long to get to fights. Nobody wants to run minutes across the map and then get into a situation where chances are high that you die, forcing you to wait for ress or do the runaround all over again. I like smaller skirmishes and playing the ranged game, because IMO managing range and position is one of the most fun and essential things to master in PvP. Yet, it’s almost impossible to kite in this game, so any encounter with a stronger army will result in certain death if you are outnumbered period.
Of course you cannot let people instantly respawn 20 feet away from the last fight, but the current situation isn’t satisfactory either.

I disagree 100%. The maps needs to be way bigger so that it takes even longer to get to the fights, and crosses needs to be removed from the game. Both things would disencourage zerging, and fix alot of the culling issues since people would be spread out more.

Good fun and lots of bigh fights in BG bl tonight. Stayed up to 4 am EU time to defend it.
The best moment was when SoR sieged Hills and we rushed in behind them, took down inner gate before we got sandwiched between 2 huge zergs.

Looks like SoR got some big guilds out there coordinating with each other each night in the NA primetime. You guys are doing good

However, due to the amount of threads & posts here, they can not answer to everyone or to every issues. But be sure that they are working very hard on this specific aspect of the game

Cute, but lying to your customers dont make you any more trustworthy, neither will it make the people that play this game for the WvW stop making posts here.

The only thing that will make people shut up is either solid info or actions ingame. 3 months into the game, and Arenanet has shown neither so far.

You have no clue as to how simple or difficult those bugs are to fix.

EDIT: Also they nerfed the turtle tactic. So there’s something else.

The fact that they tell us NOTHING about future WvW updates, while they bring plenty of info about upcomming sPvP and PvE content tells me that we have nothing comming.

So far they have removed orbs and turtles. 2 things that didnt solve any issues, but instead rolled back the game.

The fact that they delayed that last reset with 1½ hour and didnt even care to inform anyone know about it, knowing that thousands of players were sitting around waiting for it shows how much they care. Even more when they during that same period made several tweets regarding pve kitten.

Servers should have been worldwide from day 1.

Sadly Arenanet has shown from day that they have underrestimated peoples interest in WvW, and that they couldnt care less about the guilds and players for who it is the only reason to play GW2.

It will never happen so there is no reason to trouble your mind with it. It is better to adapt and move along.

The past 2 days we have changed map over and over again. As soon as we enter a map the enemy leaves. SoR does seem to have a good NA crew, to bad we dont have that many NA players yet. Was some good fights during the weekend when some of our EU crew stayed up though.

Thanks to Ioj and SoR for some great fights. It is different than fighting JQ and SBI, but no less fun. We tried a new tactic at the reset, and thankfully it worked out. It was an all or nothing tactic.

The issue with turtling wasn’t ever about stupid people turtling, as I see many people saying things like “it’s easy to counter stupid people turtling”. Sure, stupid people stacking together is a good way to kill lots of stupid people. Some people actually understood the “technique” however. Perma-stability, retaliation, 25 stacks of might for everyone, 20+ people shouting heals for 30k+ per second healing for everyone, enough people to insta-rez anyone who actually drops…… The was NO counter for turtling done “right”.

You are wrong, which is pretty obvious when you look at the “technique” you posted. There are so much more to it than what you posted. Now we are back to glasscanon button smashing beeing the only viable thing, with numbers beeing everything once agian.

Fact is turtling was a good counter when facing big blops 3-5 times your numbers, but it could be countered by even numbered and coordinated people.

A guild playing outside the servers primetime that on their own can win or loose a fight for their server due to their numbers. It is easy to see the comparison. When that is said, WM is far from the best guild we have had the pleasure of facing on SBI.

What they bring is a lot of numbers in a timezone where others cant field as many.

Once again a game developer gives in to the casuals crying on the forums, and makes the game more casual friendly. Not really a shocker to anyone with experience from other mmo´s. This is sadly a trend amongst developers that seems to be here to stay. Make the games so that a 2 month old blind monkey can play it.

There will be guilds that move on, and think of other ways to counter mindless blobs, and there will be guilds that give in and give up. My hopes are most will stay.

NA players will be at work or school around this time. It’s evening for EU players, so if they’re not on I can’t say why.

BG has had the pointlead throughout the last 3 – 4 hours though, which indeed is EU primetime ( 19.00 – 23.00 )

It is no shocker that SBI has had the pointlead in SEA / OCE timezones throughout the week though. You were already the highest pop server during that timezone, and yet you recruitet more guilds.

When we log on in the evening, we got guilds with commanders who stays up to 3 am to defend our garrison in BG bl, that usually is getting pushed from boths sides.
We got 0 people in the 2 other bl, and if we are lucky there is a commander in EB. Picking up from that usually takes us a couple of hours.´

Big doesnt make you good. Learn to counter it, and the numbers should allow you to do so.

Ferris what are you on about.? Back up that claim with some kind of proof please. I have not heard of “top 10” guilds with less online. There is one unnamed guild that had some issues with mass bans, while others have left the game. However I see those that remain as strong as ever, and field the same numbers as they did 2-3 weeks ago.

What is this? The 20th topic on the subject, with the same 10 people from pug or no guilds, with no coordination bringing the qq to the forums.

It is nice to see other EU guilds moving to NA servers, though I would love to see the top 6 servers getting 24/7 coverage, before stacking up lower tier servers.

In my experience FA doesnt have what it takes to become a consistent top6 server, even with 1 or 2 EU guilds.

guardians are a great support class for wvw, and can respec / regear depending on your crew. For small scale, I run greatsword and hammer, and for guildstuff I run staff / mace & shield. At tower / keep defenses with siege, I run hammer / staff for the #5 blocks.
