Sorry about that, but we only had 11 HBs, 1 RK + a few others following us on TS, so we had to even the fight somehow, as you were to strong to fight head on with our numbers.

The zone died after you left, as it has been most of the week. You guys bring a great fight, I only wish we could have clashed some more before the matchup ended.

Ive loved fighting against these roleplayers the past weeks. No matter what the score is or what numbers they have on a map they will defend untill the last man standing. Alot of servers in the higher tiers could learn something from this attitude.

I imagine TC felt exactly the same way, since you let them paint your BL while you held Bay. I was impressed with how long you stayed there though. Must have been a solid 3 hours.
The matchup today was a bit lopsided though. HB and Pink but no WM
Wasn’t that much fun from the Kain perspective having to fight the 2 top guilds of the other servers without our best.

The majority of BG forces werent inside Bay, but a scout missed the attack on Hills and so it was lost. Im sure TC had fun fighting on the rest of BG on the eastern side of the map.

Dont sell yourself short btw. We actually consider RE a much better guild than WM.

Its amazing to see both KN and TC keep up fighting even when not winning. Keep it up!

Here´s a HB video that´s a few days old, showing a hills defense with ~15 HB vs. a ton of RE + others. It was a really good fight with siege and counter siege going up on both sides, portals and a HB mouse clicking mesmer to record it all.

I normally don’t respond to these threads, but having played a fair share of guilds, not all, but a “fair share,” I think I can say with 100 percent certainty that HB is the best guild in game. Their knowledge and ability in open field, defense/offense are really just impressive to behold and I would think alot of guilds would want to emulate that. Plus, they have alot of class.

Well I’m happy to inform you that HB is the guild that copied Red Guard’s playstyle open field.

We did what? Back when we were fighting RG on the EU servers, we were using 2 very different strats. After their week on the JQ, where we had the chance to fight them once again, we´ve changed 5 points in a trait line and thats it. Our playbook is still the same, our class composition is still the same and our skills are still the same.

RG has a 100% focus on open field fights, where as HB are just as focused on the campaign. That leaves us with 2 very different goals, and because of that it has to be very different strats. RG showed us their strength in terms of open field fights, but as long as we
have focus on the campaign, we cant change our setup to be more skirmish focused.

Please tell me what it is we copied?

Thanks for the fun in KN bl guys. While the first 2 hours were pretty borring from our view inside garrison, the next couple of hours had alot of good fights, including the fight in Bay lord room. Stupid banner resses needs nerfing, or you need to get a debuff when banner ressed so it wont happen again. Had the room to 80%+ twice when the lord was banner ressed

Had some insane ability lag all over the zone later when KN took garrison. Did TC and KN experience it as well? Ive never seen it like that before, usually its only located near the fights.

Brommix and Alpha both stopped playing in Warhammer. We still got some of the founders playing, and like 50% of the EU guys are people that´s been with us since DAoC.

My answer to the op would be RG for open field fights without a doubt.

The Meow guild will like to thank TC and BG for a fun week. You both have some very skilled guilds/players. I also like to thank you both for being some of the most respectful servers i have seen so far.

I know that HB has had a blast fighting vs you guys as well. You brought some new tactics to the table that we had to sit down and analyze to counter.

That is what GW 2 is about for me. New tactics and ways to counter them.

Honestly, who cares. Any non prime time guilds that BG gets will only help them against JQ once they get back to T1. By proxy, this will also help the other T1 server as well because JQ won’t be able to take everything mostly uncontested.

I am glad they moved… now if only we could get a few Euro guilds to come to SoR to make things really interesting in T1.

You already got 3 majour brazilian guilds that only have a 2 hour timezone gap between EU and them, and pretty much covers that timezone. Atleast to a point where you were able to hold a ppt lead against BG during this period last time.

However I´d welcome any EU guilds any NA server except BG. Hell I wouldnt even mind if JQ got one or two more

I spam target allies all the time to see if I need to throw down heals on CDs, I meant in you videos Orcommander makes you should have your TS audio added when the red starts appearing

Is there a reason why you go through some of these entire fights without using protector’s strike once? I pretty much use PS on cooldown when I have multiple people around me while taking damage. It would seem to be a huge AoE damage loss to not use it all.

Like you say, I try to use it on cd when there´s alot of enemies around me. That said, I am leading and not that focused on my own playstyle as I am looking around me, looking at the minimap and coordinating on voicecoms. So my personal playstyle shouldnt be taken as the general HB guardian, as I hope they are doing better

The thing is WM, is well known for throwing around wild accusations about spying, sending really rude and personal ingame mails, and beeing to loud on the forums. Atleast from their time on SBI. This may all be in the past, but you cant expect people to forget all that, and move on like it never happened.

We enjoy fighting Kaining, and we still got so many days left of this matchup and so many guilds left to fight. If you go around and take everything that gets said about guilds on your server personal, then you will have a hard time in the higher tiers.

The patch was never an actual fix. It is really a reallocation of resources, a trade, if you will. It is highly likely that individuals are judging this patch based on the false pretense of “fixed culling” when in actuality it simply shows more enemies and less friendlies, which I don’t see how that makes WvW less playable. There certainly could be a bug, you know, in addition to the absurd queues and pop caps.

For the record, someone has to play the devil’s advocate here.

Yes it’s not a fix but the change they made is horrible.
When running with HB and a couple of other people following us we into groups that turn out to be up to 5 or more times larger then we see initially all the time.

The new system is so easy to abuse. Just stack up with 25+ people and the other team will only see a couple until they’re in hit range.

The old system was horrible when you had a big group but at least it was consistently horrible and it was better for smaller groups. The new configuration is so random you can never figure out what’s going on until it’s too late.

You do understand that this is because HB puts 50 people in 3 square meters of space, abusing the very thing you’re complaining about, right?

HB never once had 50 members online at one time. We field and average of 15-20, around 25 in the weekends, and 30 at reset. Currently we have 98 members spread out between GMT / EST timezones, so having 50 of those online at the same time would be really amazing.

Second HB video from this matchup is up, showing first 5 hours of last nights reset in BG bl vs. guilds such as TL, RUN and TSL.

BG won Tier2 7 or 8 weeks in a row before moving up to T1, so this aint just a T8 problem.

I’m not down Just had to leave the fight. You guys were a real wake up call to a lot of TL recruits who’d never been in t2-t1 and we thank you for that. I hope there’s more fights to come, just TL and HB. None of that Kaineng Meow or BG LotD to interfere. Haha. Ill have you know that TL had a blast fighting you guys. And to be honest we were all under the impression that you guys fell back to garrison because DB looked like Swiss Cheese. ^^

Other than on reset night, we hardly ever get more than 15-20 online, and our timezones only overlap with a couple of hours, so there might not be that many fights, but I enjoyed them in the past, and I know that we will in the future as well.

Our warrior that recorded had to log as well. If you notice the clock on his radar, it was passed 2 am when he logged, so it wasnt because he didnt wanna show you taking Bay.

Great fight at FA Hills. Props to TC for sticking around trying different stuff like portal bombing us. You made us waste all our supplys, so we went ahead and practised some field placements and some new moves while bruteforcing down that T2 gate. Was a good fight, and I know my guys enjoyed it

TC EB had a 3 hour long queue tonight. At the 2 and a half mark I looked over at the map and we didn’t own a SINGLE base. There is definitely something not right with the queue system. Why else wouldn’t they allow us to see queue positions or give estimated times? The mechanics are not right and Anet needs to look at it because it is a huge turn off for many wvw’ers.

You guys had plenty of players in EB. If they wouldnt jump into places the game designers didnt intend them to, maybe the 2 servers wouldnt focus you in there.

TC we got some material regarding tonights matchup we want you to look at. Is there anyone we can contact regarding this, so it gets taken care of without beeing turned into a public flamewar?

Some easy fixes to remove some of the zerging:

Remove X´s from the map when there is combat. This was intreduced sometime into Warhammer and was a terrible idea back then, and still is.

Remove the waypoints. Maps are small enough as they are, and people get back into combat way to fast.

Increase death penalty. The way it is right now, people can faceasmash their keyboard in a 60 man zerg and still get out with a positive gold gain. ( Im talking about Karma trains here )

Increase rewards for defending. That could increase peoples motivation towards defending instead of following the nearest blue dot on the map.

Make private squads that are invite only or have a password. Right now alot of guilds are forced to run around without the commander tag, simply because they dont want the tail of pugs. That denies us the option of getting supply info, an easy target for regrouping and other benefits the commander icon gives.

And I have only been relaying what BWC members have been saying in EB. If the BWC does not like the truth spread, then perhaps you should look at why that truth is so dangerous to you?

Your alliance, Blackgate War Council, has taken it upon themselves to decide this for the server, despite how many disagree with it. And as too many people in Blackgate blindly follow the decision of a chosen few within the Blackgate War “Council”, it is severely affecting WvW. Apparently there is a meeting today about it, though the decision seems to have already been made.

BWC is actively telling people to not participate in WvW outside of holding Overlook for the jumping puzzle. Looking at the score is proof enough for this. I’m surprised you aren’t aware, as I was under the impression you held rank within HB, and that HB was a very important factor within the BWC. It’s funny that they’ve decided this without even the entire “council’s” vote.

Your attempt to cause drama and attention to your self is nothing but hilarious. Some guilds have said they wont push the campaign, while others have said they will keep pushing. Your comments about the BWC, and the descision making progress, just makes me realise you dont have a clue what your talking about.

I wouldnt have thought someone from SoR, the server that didnt push the campaign to hard last week, just so they could get more points from SBI this week, would point fingers at others for playing the numbers game.

sos gave up before blackgate, look how it was earlier tonight before hb guild and a few others left from bg, it was even and i was enjoying blackgates use of tactics and battle strategy’s we had some great battles tonight win or lose it was great to have smart competition with actual battle tactics not zerg tactics.

It was really fun fighting you guys as well. To take your own words and turn them around, it was nice to fight a JQ guild not using numbers, but tactics and field awareness. Those ballistas in the corn field in the south supply camp was a great idea!
Your use of null fields is also something new that we havent faced in a coordinated way like that before.

We stopped around 6 am my local time, midnight for our EST crew, so it wasnt because we didnt wanna fight you guys.

To SoS: I understand your reasons for not fighting for ppt, but please atleast come out into the lakes and fight? Having a T1 server sit out like this is just silly.

Apparently SoS and BG’s “BWC” alliance both have this ridiculous idea that staying in Tier 1 will have us in near-bottom tiers for over a month. I feel sorry for everyone not part of these alliances who are trying to enjoy the game, and especially JQ who did not want to take part in this ridiculous plan having no resistance in WvW, I can’t imagine that is very fun for them either.

Props to Carnage from JQ for some good brawls in SoS bl tonight. Unlike most other JQ guilds, you guys actually bring some tactics and skills to the table. Its been fun fighting you tonight.

I guess the weekdays are showing JQs true massive coverage. They are sitting at +475 ppt. I know I would be bored, but I guess we are playing the game for different reasons

It was awesome to have you on the NA side, and it was great to fight you guys again. There is no doubt that you owned our kitten in gvg, where as the open fight fights were a bit more even.

Id really love to see more NA guilds getting into gvg. So far its only been TW from SoR that has showed any interest in it.

To the BG and SoS guilds in EB – Awesome job guys, which I could have been there.

HB moved from the EU servers when Blackgate were still a Tier4 server, and we got a warm welcome with everyone asking what they could do to help us. We quickly found out this was the place to call home, and to strenghten one of the servers weak coverage spots, we decided to expand to cover the EST timezone as well.

You wont find any mega guilds with 500+ members on BG, instead you will find smaller guilds that are here for the fights, and dont back down when it gets rough. We have made several comebacks in several tiers, where we´ve moved from third to first place over the last few days of the matchup.

There is still progress to be made as a community, but we´ve come a long way and the community TS as well as the blackgate homepage is great tools that is used by the majority of the WvW guilds.

We got commanders who love to rally the pugs, and we got commanders who would rather run without. This is told in a respectfull way, and most people respect and follow this. That said it is a rare sight to see 2-3 commanders on a map, but if you do, you can be sure they are working together.
