I think we need a much bigger change in transfer prices. Something like:

T1: 3000
T2: 2500
T3:1800
T4: 1800
T5: 1200
T6: 800
T7: 300
T8: Free

Transferring down 2 or more tiers would remove 200 gems from the cost.

In other words, encourage people to continue going to lower tiers. Why? The tier is all about population balance. Even it out.

Tier is all about coverage, and theres only enough OCX, SEA and EU guilds / players to substain one “healthy” tier. Encouriging people to transfer down would do nothing.
BG that is considered the most “stacked” NA TZ server in NA T1 currently have a max of 1 queued map during NA prime on a saturday and none during weekdays.
We´ve given up finding fights during EU prime, and have had trouble finding fights during NA prime in T1 for so long that we´ve decided to disband as a guild from GW2.

GW2 without a doubt has the best combat system, but out of all mass pvp content mmos that Ive played, it also has the worst and least endgame pvp content which is why (alot) of people and guilds are leaving.

About the ops post, its been clear since release that WvW never was the target audience of the devs / anet, but we´ve always hoped that they´d have enough insight and pride of their game to make something out of the gamemode. Why else would you make it in the first place? It reflects bad on Anet as a game developer and will only hurt their rep in future game releases.

Ash is now an EU guild? I have never seen them on during EU. Not even on weekends. Also listing SG is an EU guild is kinda fun, knowing they dont have a single EU member. They do however sometimes form up around 6pm EST, which is around midnight EU, but I wouldnt call em EU because of that.

HB fields ~10-15 during EU, somtimes a few more during weekends, but never 25. The only time we hit that numbers is on reset nights.

That said, I would love to see JQ get some good EU guilds.

KnT and OnS fielding 60 is fun. Though they sometimes tag up and rally pugs, they dont usually field more than 35 them selfs during reset, which is where they peak.

DEAD is a PVX guild that only rarely comes out into WvW. Dont remember the last time I saw em.

I agree that JQ could use a couple of NA fighting guilds, but from what I hear you have already gotten those?

City State games have already communicated more about their plans with RvR in CU than Anet have with their plans for WvW 2 years after release. And CU havent even reached Alpha stage yet.

Do you personally ask your guilds to break off and allow an even exchange or continue on as one blob?

I never actually see that happen in T1 at all (groups splitting off)

In terms of defending a structure I think anything goes.

When it comes to guilded fights though I think it would be fair to apply some consideration to the numbers in the fight before stepping in.

First of all, we would never engage in an open fight where we outnumber the enemy 3-1. If we come close to 2 guilds or a guild fighting a guild + pugforce, we ask if they need / want help before we engage, unless they look outnumbered alot, in which case we’d dive right in.

Its not about fighting 15v20 og 20v20. I realise this is WvW and trully even fights will almost never happen. However you sometimes find yourself on the field fighting another guild that has about the same output as you do, regarding numbers difference. In this case I believe it is a lack of respect from other guilds to add in on this fight.

Regarding fighting in objectives I agree that everything goes, though I would prolly ask before rushing into a T1 tower if I see a known fighting guild having fun in there.

This. It is not about beeing right or wrong, but a naive hope that sharring opinions and having a discussion about the subject can lead to more fights the way I want them, which is a trully selfish goal.

Having played games such as DAoC and WAR, I am used to a culture where groups and guilds dont add on each other if the fights seem even. This has been an unspoken rule amongst guilds that most if not all have agreed on. Same goes for killing groups smaller than yours / roamers.

However in GW2 it is rare to see this behavior from guilds. I wonder if its because we play on NA servers and NA dont have the same history in previous mmos, or its a general thing for GW2?

Its not a rant about other servers, cause guilds on my own server ( Blackgate ) is just as bad at doing this as others are. I am just wondering why people do this, and hopefully a discussion about this can lead to, what imo would be a better WvW enviroment.

Too many tags would also be a problem. It gets annoying and would be distracting. I’d much more prefer commander tags that can turned on/off with the following options.

1. On for everyone to see
2. On for guild members to see
3. On for party members to see
4. On for squad members to see
5. Off

Easiest solution is Public or Private. Only people in a Private squads/party see the pin. This can be used to make guild, party or squad forces private and can be toggled public at any time when needed.

BG has the most EU coverage. They have several guilds that raid during this timezone. They also complain that there is nobody to fight. And that it will be difficult to get onto BG at present because they are always full. So a reasonable alternative would be JQ. They have some guilds that raid in EU. They regularly outscore their opponents in the timezone despite having less guilds in the EU timeslots than BG. Prior to leagues SOR had the biggest EU coverage, however, since their semi collapse they experienced alot of EU players leave. SOR still has the strongest NA (albeit inconsistent at times) and it is East coast based so its more common to see NA players logged on during EU timezone so SOR is still an option but moving to SOR with their implosion is still a bit of a worrying move because nobody knows how much more they will lose.

JQ doesn’t regularly outscore anyone in EU this was what happened for one week it does not make it true as illustrated by the fact BG still ticked 300+ most of last week when it got to mid EU prime. If your looking for an EU guild/crew to run with you could try JQ or SoR both have a small EU guild or two out there.

I respectfully disagree with you on some key points.

The EU force that BG has runs unopposed in EU time reducing t3 structures to paper. That is a domino effect on NA time much like the leagues.

Please name just once during EU in the past 4 weeks that BG have reset a T3 keep from JQ or SoR. I will bet you all my gold that you cant.

BG on the other hand lost 3 T3 keeps to JQ and SoR this saturday in EU prime ( around 9.30pm GMT ). At this point BG had less than 50 people overall in all 3 borderlands ( on TS – not counting EB ). We were up against a queued map from both SoR and JQ + 20+ man guild groups from both servers hitting other borderlands.

In BG times their big hits in EU on JQ and SoR wp objectives at 1am-2am (gmt+8) onwards. Please note that I’m not complaining, only stating BG tactics (commendable) in hitting servers at the transition zones.

This is 5-6pm EU prime. None of the EU guilds are even close to forming up at this hour. We usually dont form up till 8-9pm local time, and I know RK is the same. If you are going to comment on timezones you should atleast get em right.

On topic – you can never ballance out kitten as there aint enough OCX / SEA / EU guilds to spread out on 9 servers.

Post season 1 we were looking hard into finding another server to have a “vacation” on, but the gold costs of the transfer scared us of, as we would most likely have lost most or all of our casual players in the process.

Also history have shown us that T2 servers and below dont have the coverage to match T1 EU, so we wouldnt be looking at much fights.

HB have been an EU / NA EST guild since last xmas, and we play just as often in each timezone. In NA prime we get plenty of fights vs. organized guilds

We are only out in the field ~2-4 times a week though, which could be the reason you dont always see us.

I noticed that BG is abusing the queue system and stacking players in a battleground when they get rolled by equal numbers.

Anet, you need to fix that bug that allows servers to bring in more players than they are allowed. The last week or so BG has been abusing this to no end.

The normal cap is 90, and the most Ive seen us stack in a borderland is around 140. But we were getting double teamed, so it was like you had 180, so I really dont see the big deal?

Best EU guild we have faced is RG both in GvG and open field. Their use of fields in open wvw and not just in GvGs was a new sight on NA servers when they moved to JQ.

Best NA guilds we have faced is AGG and BT. Both were solid open field guilds that never backed down from a fight. I heard AGG lost alot of members, which might be the reason we rarely see them in EST anymore. I would love to try and fight them again with their lower numbers and practise from GvGs.

Best OCX guild we have faced is TKG. Playing during the morning local time, weve only faced these guys a few times, both its great none the less.

Best SEA guild we have faced is NYS. Their use of open field portals is second to none compared to any other guild weve faced in any timezone.

Mace & shield is very much doable. In fact it was mandatory for HB guardians untill this summer.

This will be our last video post on the official forums. A 3 minutte video montage from december. We will continue the talks on gw2wvw for now, but I have a strong feeling it wont be the same.

A new, non-ppt focused, guild created few hours ago in JQ. Here are some videos of [BFD] vs BG and SoR.

SoR is the strongest server here as you can see..

Overall, I think HB is the strongest guild in BG. Fights with them seem to last the longest in general. I would also say Apex, but they didn’t have the number and it was kind of unfair.

• Farming in BG BL with SF: (P1) (P2) - HB/GoF and maybe some KnT?

Yup, was fun on JQ BL last night. That bay fight was close, was a hard fought take and at one point I wasn’t sure we would get it. Good play by HB as usual.

We actually got in there about 30 secounds before the inner gate went down. Got a scout report saying only 30 outside, so we waited it out and decided to jump you on the lord instead of choking you at the gate, in hopes that you would get a few more numbers which you did Was a really tough fight, and in the end we just couldnt keep up with the battle ressing from 2-3 different groups.

Best fight of the night had to be the open field 3 way between bay and garrison though.

To be honest it was probably TC placing second last week that caused SoR to get kinda peeved off, as seen by guilds like Choo that tried to 2v1 us BG bl from the start of reset. Neither JQ or SoR have the EU population to compete in total numbers to ZDs, let alone all of the militia that follow them and the numerous other EU guilds on BG so people seem to be pushing less hard as they could, because whatever they do doesn’t really matter. The “agreed” upon 2v1 was a myth for the most part, although I did have one SoR commander approach me but we agreed to play naturally without formal 2v1.

I’m not demeaning BGs EU efforts, as they run very tight and are skilled as hell – but its hard not to acknowledge the lack of forces matched up with them on other servers.

We can agree that no JQ EU guild have the numbers to stand up alone to ZDs, but IRON did have the numbers when they were on SoR.

Also your comment about "let alone all of the militia that follow them and the numerous other EU guilds on BG " is wrong and you know it. Both HB and Coin run untagged and ask the militia to leave them alone. Only RK runs tagged.

We have welcomed the fights from JQ this week, and even though we miss IRON, its still nice to have SoR back as well.

Last I just want to remind you that before ZDs joined BG in week 2, we had a max of 2 queued maps ( BG and EB ) at the start of EU prime every kitten night including saturday in week 1. That was ( one of ) the weeks where you had 2-3 hour queues in the same timezone. So your comment about coverage in EU prime doesnt really add up unless you lost alot of EU players that I havent heard about ?

My initial response was far angrier in tone so I am reposting it after taking a dose of my own medicine.

Is that how you want to represent our server? gtfo? I made a comment about the majority of the people in the borderlands maps this week. People who are still a part of Blackgate, people who make Blackgate a great all around server (we are tier 1 in WvW and PvE). Elitism is one thing, but your tone has no place in the conversation in my opinion.

Because every fight against Blackgate/JQ/SoR is essentially a 5to1 fight ( and that’s in good conditions) and also because they PvD everything while people are working ( FACT : 100 man just pushed into our garri to retake it against….. 12 ish roamer. At noon eastern on a monday. repeat every day), that means we start from a “paper position” every day.

Pffff Blackgate. Anyone can feel invincible in pvt with +4man dps helping against whatever. It’s not like there’s any effort or skill required. Just cruise control to victory.

The maguuma way involves becoming tougher and harder to survive against more and more ridiculous odds. No cruise control here. The reason our roamers are strong is that they get it done ALONE. That’s why we got that swag.

In fact, i’m quite confident in saying that most BG players wouldn’t be able to handle Maguuma-style difficulty. Because they are not tough enough.

Our objective this week is the number 2 spot. If blackgate will stop playing favorites ( by capping only mag stuff during the day and keeping the points rolling for sos) then perhaps we’ll get it done.

Any way you cut it, the “season” and the “rankings” are a joke. 3 weeks into the season we got word that SOME silver league servers (who shall remain nameless) deliberatly tanked themselves to silver league because they were too weak to try the real deal. and because….. they were scared the rewards for “bottom gold” was not gonna be good enough for them. Ask the silver league guys about it sometimes…
