So what about karma armor, does this apply to the skins that are only karma bought? If So that would be great!!
But about the rank system, I read that no more ranks?? but you’ll get a shiny new title instead saying basically your rank. or is it no more finisher… I think that’s what it was.

That’s what I was just thinking; yeah I was appalled at the Culti 3 human reskin & I appreciate what they did removing it, but like you said- what if the new design noone likes it?

I use that armor on my main (see below)

not the fire one, that looks horrid the way they’ve done it, I don’t think any creativity or style was put into it. If had particle effects similar to ascended weapons (ie glowing/dimming) which you could control the colour of (like sylvari) i’d have been all over it…but the fire thing, especially with how they’ve done it, really only works with a tiny colour range without looking terrible, in the vast majority of cases though it’s going to look terrible.

And I agree with you on the fire, it looks especially horrid on females though- I think I should’ve made that more clear on how ugly it was on a female character.

Its quite horrendous on anything except a human, the tier 3 light armor rip off just saw it on a norn – its so unflattering, and the shading is so ‘jank’
You would think Anet would have been a little more creative with this idea? theres so many more options than going for a reskin!
And did medium armor really need ANOTHER long coat??

I hate my arah armor!! its so ugly! but i cannot find a skin that goes well with the bifrost and my norn – im tired of skimpy armors for females

I mean beautiful furs, animal themed skins for all norn armor classes! and whatever else for the rest of the races.

Any class is great in any dungeon so long as they are experienced with their class and know about the dungeon, I ran Arah path 4 with 4 necro and 1 warrior – I was scared yea but it was a breeze since all except me knew what to do- and they were extremely patient, couldn’tve asked for a better group.

I wish they would take skyhammer out of tournaments— but that’s a different topic altogether. Many players see no reward in PvP since you cannot bring anything outside of PvP except for titles and maybe some new honed skills and maybe a better build that you can guarantee a nerf on after a few months- but alot of players are for the ‘shiney’ things in gw PvE content- not so much the personal satisfaction of driving a banner through another players chest.
Personally I love PvP I cannot get enough of it- but in truth I wouldn’t know how to improve it, but I suppose that’s why I am a player and not a programmer. I agree there needs to be somesort of … boost to PvP morale in ways.

Not sure why this was taken out, but it was definitely helpful in collecting karma and I’m sure it was for many others. Yes, I could just WvW until my head falls off but being the lowest rated and least populated server in WvW has more drawbacks than assets.
So adding it back would be a major help unless it will be re implemented back into the next patch? Or maybe karma has bigger plans ahead.

I do not mean to complain but this really is the one and only thing that bugs me- and I’m not so sure how to put it in a way that doesn’t sound whiny.

Hi I would like to start off by saying how I struggle to find the ‘perfect’ mesmer armor.
The easiest path would be to go with T2 human light armor and transmuting the starter mesmer mask over and over.
Eventually the only thing I am left with is dyeing my armor over and over to hopefully satisfy my hunger for all things mesmerrrr!!!

For new updates ahead more mesmer themed armor as weapon skins in the black lion purchasable by gems.
-More corsets, lace, frills and thrills please!
-More full faced mesmer masks, no more half faced over the eyes only.

SO this is my thought on the topic please more ideas post them!

it seems to me that youre just being picky over classes.
If you really got into the nature of a mesmer they can literally take down any class if played right.

I love mesmer personally, but also have good fun on my engineer as well.
and if you’re just being picky on kit swapping- which can actually give you perma speed and vigor then maybe stick to the simplicity of a warrior or spam of a thief.

Yea it drastically needs to be improved, your ‘personal’ story that you chose during creation is only about 4 missions long and after that it’s a bunch of in betweens that are forgettable only to find out you’ve been thrown into another character’s story where you remain the side character to a sylvari named Trahearne.

I was wondering if karma vials, drops, drips, sips and whatnot, were taken away? The reason I ask is bc I am in the middle of my legendary and have yet to get to the shards which require karma as currency.
If so why?
If not, then what a relief but I haven’t been getting anything karma related from blue dungeon bags.

As for the build, it seems like you’re going for a Power/Condition hybrid with a Shatter/Lockdown playstyle. Dude, that’s difficult. I don’t mean “kind of difficult” I mean “one of the freaking most difficult things to pull off successfully for a Mesmer” -kind of difficult. Lets break it down…

• What’s the goal? - What did you want to accomplish with this build? Pure damage? Damage with group support? Enemy control? The first and most important rule is figuring out what your purpose is gonna be.

• Light defense - You have two stunbreaks, which is nice, but you use both of them offensively and in the beginning of the fight. After that there’s nothing to protect you besides your Distortion [F4] shatter and untraited Temporal Curtain. This may work somewhat in a 1v1, but the moment a second opponent joins the fight you’re toast. Not to mention absolutely zero condition defense, which is a huge weakness for this build. Consider altering your playstyle so that you save Decoy to save your life rather than to gain the advantage in the beginning of the fight (Granted, the first strike does often have the advantage in any battle.)
  Other alternatives would be to either equip a staff or shuffle some traits around. Slide 5 points out of Dueling and into Illusions for Illusionary Persona. The “confusion-on-clone-death” is a very minor loss compared to the damage/defense boost iPersona grants you.

• Carrion Amulet - It’s doing you no justice. If you want condition damage take Rabid Amulet. If you want Power take Berzerker. If both? Rampager. (Though incredibly difficult to pull off. Hybrid Mesmer are still being explored and very few hybrid builds can perform better than a pure power or pure condition Mesmer.)

• Scepter/Focus – Sword/Pistol: Eh, there’s a bit of mixed opinion on this set but from my experience… Scepter/Focus can sort-of work, the pull from Temporal Curtain makes it easy to nail the Confuse Ray… but I think you’d be better off swapping to Scepter/Pistol – Sword/Focus. Scepter and Pistol are both capable of doing power AND condition damage (iDuelist stacks bleeds like a ‘mutha when you have Dueling 15) as well as both being good ranged/control weapons. Scepter blinds, confuses, torments, and allows you to fight at range which synergizes well with the pistol’s Stun (iDuelist + Magic Bullet + Confuse Ray = Profit) Sword and Focus would be your more defensive set. Blurred Frenzy and Temporal Curtain’s pull can keep you relatively safe while iLeap and Temporal Curtain gives you better mobility while crippling enemies (also, using leap & swap inside of temporal curtain’s LIGHT field gives you a retaliation finisher.) Again, another alternative would be to use staff for it’s excellent defense OR swap Focus with offhand Sword for two very damaging phantasms (as well as a daze on low cooldown thanks to Blade Training & 25 Illusions which would work with your Mesmer runes)

As far as Greatsword Mesmer go, nearly all their damage comes from the Phantasm and auto-attack. Line of Sight is your best friend here, use the terrain to your advantage and get close! Greatsword excels at long range and gets weaker the closer you are. If you’re fighting in a group, use your team’s AoEs to destroy the phantasm, if not a single auto chain from the sword should do the trick if you have the time. The most common Greatsword Mesmer I see also tend to use Sword/Pistol or Sword.. something. Thats when their damage will be from this combo (which you should be doing too)

iLeap -> Swap -> Blurred Frenzy+Shatter

Since you run mirror images, this is VERY important. Mirror Images is an instant, and thus can be done in the middle of your Blurred Frenzy.

iLeap -> dodgeClone ->Swap->DAZE shatter -> Blurred Frenzy -> Mirror Images -> Mind Wrack shatter.

As a girl I leaned towards mesmer bc it’s the most ‘femine class’
I have 2 mesmer a norn mesmer female and human mesmer- I like the human cultural T2 better for a mesmer reminds me of Gw1 mesmer armor.
whilst T3 Human looks too much like something an Ele would wear.

Most aren’t very stylish IMO most go all out one color- purple/black or have some ugly atrocious armor combo.
Such as Arah mantle with non matching armor- it’s a really unconventionally ugly look – not flattering at all with the bulkyness.

Hello I love mesmer- and I am currently enjoying the class in PvP.
I usually play my mesmer in PvE.
I love mesmer so much I have 2 thinking about a third..

BUT lets stay on topic
In PvP at first I ran a GS build GS as my main line of offense along with sword/pistol.
After a while it seemed to not really… do the trick for me? It didnt feel mesmer-y enough I suppose… im not sure what it was.
After some time I began experimenting with more weapons in PvP and builds

Currently I kinda just threw this build together but I completely melt under another GS mesmer, or a bunker engi who uses grenades/bombs, a stunlock warrior or a MM necro, and even a spirit ranger- otherwise I don’t do half bad for myself being that I dodge roll a ton.

SO here it is..

My routine is when I spot a player(s) on point I go ahead and hit decoy and dodge roll forward then hit mind wrack, I then press “mirror images” then use the F2 skill and then whilst doing that I usually dodge roll again and then use “Magic Bullet” I said that in a Nick Cage voice for some reason in my head… To either stun them and then use the “phantasmal duelist” and then hit my signet to re-stun or if they have stability I switch to scepter and press 2 to block and grant torment.. Rinse and Repeat… basically. I normally dont moa an opponent bc they tend to run away and I dont ever give chase- I continue to capture the point.

I melt under most mesmer though since most are GS – I can dodge the berserker but they wind up besting me in the end regardless.

I run 20 in Domination.
III V
25 in Dueling
II X
and 25 in Illusions
VI III

My weapons are Scepter/Focus Sword/Pistol.
Amulet is Carrion with Carrion jewel.
I have full Superior Runes of the Mesmer.
I have sigil of Force, sigil to Stun on my sword/pistol.
on scepter I have corruption for stacks upon death, and energy on my focus for increased illusions.

Hrmm I don’t agree, why would you need to have to many GoE anyways? it gives you two upon completion anyways – and with 1 more character completing map you get 2 more GoE. I think that’s enough- it takes one week or less with a level 80 character to get map exploration.
Seems like you’re just one of the complainers who cries when something doesn’t get up and walk to you just to make it easier for you.

Combining different sets, dyes and weapon skins is an art. There are low lvl blues, greens and yellows that look awesome. I love the Dredge Canary focus, for example, and I never saw anyone else but my mesmer using it. But maybe my taste is bad and I should feel bad lol

750g?? Like… who has time for that? It would probably have to be transmuted to something with better stats anyways— so would totally not even be worth it- especially for an aesthetic point of view.
I do think that new and more ‘cultural’ type armor should be available but not for that price. Especially since light armored norns look silly in T3 no matter how you dye it, most colors are somewhat dull by it as well.
It wouldn’t work especially since it’s vendor sold and not market sold. Weapons are in the hundreds and thousands because of the rarity of the drop – armor vending nope, it’s a different story imo.

If something like that was implemented regardless, the armor itself would literally have to be jaw dropping gorgeous or awesome with 0 complaints.

I agree- why is their no pink hair! we have all the blues blondes and purples we need — so we need more along with more hairstyles-- better than what we got already even after the 3 that were added- more pls?!

I would like a NORMAL ponytail hairstyle and a pretty A-Line bob for female characters. and for Norns – more ‘Norn’ like hairstyles braids, long flowy hair, etc.
Also there are no female african american hairstlyes- such as no afro for a female character- or nothing other than straight or semi-curly hair.

It will have a negative effect with people who already have problems with lag and start lag problems for the ones who dont- just imagine the players who have difficulty just standing in LA – and if something like this were added- it would be impossible for them to play at all. Everyone and their mothers would be doing the ‘final boss move’ just to do it.

Hello I love Norns and most things about them but they don’t have any good light armors- their tier armors are the only ‘norn’ like armor you can get, can we have more options on that?
Specifically the light armors- any norn who is a light armor may feel this way or possibly just me- Anything that is not norn based such as cabalist or winged armor looks somewhat goofy on a norn- like clothing a giant to make it cute- when norns aren’t cute they are a proud peoples who dont take no for an answer- so why can’t we have better norn related armors in general?
More options for norn armor skins in the Black Lion for the winter update?

Hello I am looking for a guild that focuses mainly on sPvP and WvW— that occasionally PvE- but I have really taken a liking to Gw2 sPvP because it does not require you to farm for the ‘best gear’ since all skins are aesthetic.

I am currently in Devona’s Rest, and am in a PvP guild but none of the players get on anymore- and are not interested in competing in tournaments any further after receiving their champion titles.
I love to do regular sPvP matches, and occasionally tournament but due to the lack of a structured and well balanced team, Russian roulette isn’t really my thing.
I currently play a mesmer and rarely play a warrior. I am looking for a guild that does not mind helping other PvPers become better players, who are good sports and with the main goal to win!

If moving servers is required I already have some funds set aside just for that.

I made a complete mistake by deleting my warrior, who I never play and at some point I must’ve put my favorite PvP heavy armor skins and Wings of Dwayna (PvP) on her as well.
Is their any way I could get it back Anet?

The HotW armor skin was the armor that I lost- and I know can be randomly received through winning PvP chests along with the dwayna bow- but I feel dumbfounded especially after working to get those PvP items.

-Gender: Female
-Profession: Mesmer
-Weapon: Ascended Focus WupWup stats
-Issue: The focus is backwards or ‘inwards’ to the thigh, and placed inside her leg or lower hip.

I purchased the recipe for an ascended focus and chose the WupWup stats, and upon preview (I have not made it just yet because of this reason) The focus is placed backwards and completely hidden from view. At first I thought this was just my armor, so I switched bottoms to a smaller set, and it still applied and when I removed the bottom armor piece completely it revealed that the Focus was completely inside my Norn’s leg sticking out like shrapnel. Now I do not wish to hope or believe that this placement was on purpose and hope it can be fixed and placed correctly on the thigh.

So this is a purposeful placement? can I get any reply from a Dev??

Theifs and Mesmer bug if they are hit with a Flame they should become visible if they are cloaked
To me this is a bug, if you are cloaked and you get hit with a flame you should become visible. Their ability go cloaked and get hit it should make you visible again. I can under stand a 2s delay where you cant take damage. This is an unbalanced. BTW i do have a level 80 thief.

not a bug since the only way they can become uncloaked is to attack, and plus mesmer cloaking only lasts 2-4 seconds as it is— and that’s apart of their class- seems like you’re just complaining imo regardless of what you have- and no matter how long the cloak mesmer always take damage regardless of stage in cloaking.

Yea it’s rather irritating, being that it seems like im the only one who notices it- and have to point it out, and I just get an “Oh, that sucks..”

And you’re right about norn gear- even cultural norn gear doesn’t seem to have much to it and anything else is less animated or too large.

I made the ascended focus, wupwup stats but It’s glitched into the skin and it’s backwards, so you can’t even see what you have.
Im sure this is not intentional- and being that most people go for the shields and swords staves etc I feel that the focus was left in the dust and forgotten about. I think I preferred my CM focus over this- did I just waste my laurels on it?

especially since they have already nerfed portal to receive less people in and out of it.
SO if that were to happen 3-5 min portal would be so nerfed that only 3 ppl could cross through it. and lightning hammer, if you want a permanent L hammer then just make the Mjolnir, it is the permanent exotic version of the ele skill.

I do think the Eternity should outshine the Twilight and Sunrise equally, even though I have the Bifrost – it looks nothing like ANY staff so with or without effects I love it; so why does Eternity have to look like the 2 legendary gs? Not much thought put into that on Anet’s part. I think this is lovely!

More hairstyles added to all races please!
I’m sure this wouldn’t be too difficult seeing that I have seen unavailable hairstyles through the game on NPC’s.

This personally would improve my gw2 experience being that I am one of those players who loves to customize her character as much as she possibly can, but most MMO’s overlook those ppl , and the same 8 hairstyles gets old. SO with all this new lovely content why not add in 3 or 4 new hairstyles in the self styling hairkits or total makeover kits?
Pinks, greens, oranges more of all these colors! the ‘crazy’ hair colors available are great and all but I was puzzled when sugar pink or tangerine orange was neither of the options? Those would be great thanks.

When you transmute something you must do it on that character though I believe. You an transmute it as many times as you like through level with stones but to put it on Lvl 80 gear, it must be a transmutation crystal.

AS a girl, that’s something youll have to figure out, since alot of actual female players go with TA med armor bc of the way it looks Or the BLT skins. But pay attention to the stats as well.

Hello! I have the legendary weapon The Bifrost, and as it says on the stats you can pick them as many times as you want- in which I do i play around with it
BUT
each time I click through the different stats and click accept on whatever one doesn’t matter, it still acts as though I have not chosen anything and the little message appears "You have a an equipped item that does not have stats selected. Double click to assign it’s stats. So…. what am I doing wrong?

I don’t mean to seem so dumb! Im just confused. Any help would be appreciated! <3

Well personally I love it! Im a staff Mesmer, but I see your point – a ‘on/off’ would be good like for the effects on attacking for people who hate the projectiles.

New titles should be added to the “titles” regarding equipping a SINGLE Legendary weapon instead of having to equip two legendary weapons to get a very small amount of AP- -what’s so legendary about that?

Have unique titles for each Legendary and each give at least 50 AP, that’s legendary.

-Example-
For having soul bound the Legendary great sword ‘Sunrise’- “Keeper of the Sunrise” or something as the Title

Hello, I think it’s about time to introduce some new hairstyles and haircolors with upcoming patches.
As an aspiring makeup artist I really enjoy customizing my options with video games that have a create mode and I like what GW2 has to offer, but I did say ‘like’ and not love. The new hairstyles could be added through the gem store makeover kit.

I think with the current hairstyles that are offered which are fine- But some new ones wouldnt and couldnt hurt! No gender/race sharing either.
Norns- More celtic/viking/braids/feathers etc.- even a variant of Jora’s hairstyle from EotN for female norns.
Asura- movable hairstyles, with more buns hairstyles for both and a regular ponytail even.
Sylvari- Now why this wasn’t implemented or added in the first place puzzles me- more flowers in their hair, not so much vines and leaves. More thorn hairstyles that glow, moss types there are so many options for them that I can’t even go there.
Human- Humans imo have the best range of hairstyles but a few more wouldn’t hurt.
regular ponytails – no pig tails, no cutesy 80’s side ponytail. more updo’s that dont look like they popped out of a renaissance fair which I love the renaissance fair.
for men, an actual mo hawk- male hairstyles arent so bad.
Charr- The charr are sort of … hard to say I want new manes! – so maybe just some more colors for thier manes not just blue or purple— what ever happened to pink or green?

Even if new hairstyles never get added it won’t stop me from playing the game but it won’t stop me from wishing either.

I think any race can match it’s class if you make it match.
