Warsworn [WAR], Dragonbrand
Evermoor Alliance
Guardians aren’t really built for any kind of solo play unless you do some hardcore specialization. You want a party to play with, I am running support and loving it…0/0/30/30/10, cleric armor, invader hammer, scepter+shield, Hold The Line, Stand Your Ground, Retreat.
I can tank, I can do some fair damage, but not enough to 1v1 thieves/warriors, I focus on keeping my teammates alive with bubbles/utilities while at the same time staying on the frontlines tanking and doing dmg
“Without gear 80s would have nothing to work toward…that’s the reason I play MMO’s, I enjoy getting higher numbers.” Then you’re going to be disappointed once you get your level 80 set. Numbers don’t really go up after that. It’s awesome. No more gear grinding just to compete in PvP.
Possibly, I’ve never maxed gear before in a game so who knows what will happen. Maybe a new character? I still enjoy running with my guild in WvW and crushing people.
I was matching everyone elses exaggeration. But it’s true everyone in our server TS was reporting increased badge drops. I still think nothing has changed since launch.
@Gao, yep, that’s how it is for my guild.
Addressing OP, we have many cases where 1 guild has the 15 supply buff, and others don’t. So we generally base who claims it with who has the +5 supply buff…if no one has buffs none of us bother to claim it.
Perhaps if a guild claims a location, they get bigger rewards for defending it and cheaper upgrades? just a thought.
Without gear 80s would have nothing to work toward…that’s the reason I play MMO’s, I enjoy getting higher numbers.
So last night everyone got a crap ton of badges in my server, so either it’s still the good old RNG and you guys are unlucky(the likeliest), or they saw the whining and secretly buffed it, lol.

Sorry for your bad experience, but take this from a Kaineng WvW player since the beginning, the fact is that over the past 3 days we have had a large influx of world hoppers, and so far everyone I see in the chat with bad attitudes are people who I don’t even recognize…and in Kaineng, everybody knows everybody, this type of bad attitude didn’t even exist before people started saying
It’s been pretty disappointing, we hope we can help these guys figure out what Kaineng is about so we can return to the peaceful demeanor we used to hold. But I fear it wont ever be the same, with our new population…
PS – you remind me of my dad, his usernames were always “The Winner”
Yep, [Nuke] generally avoids/assists DR…unless you’re taking our northern stuff in our borderlands.
So last night we assaulted Dreaming Bay in a daring plan, involving 6 trebs, 3 balistas, 3 arrow carts, and 25 players. We didn’t make it past the 2nd wall, and we fell back to Arah’s, as seen below…after everyone ran to defend Garrison, we lost it to about 30 Borlis, only 4 defenders remaining…I am bad at remembering to take screenshots. They really wanted Arah’s though. I think they payed in a sufficient amount of blood.
In my guild, so far the most helpful player to have in a group is a Thief Tank. Yep, toughness, Vit, and those evasion traits…he runs into 10 hostiles by himself and just dagger storms them and confuses them easily for 40+ seconds without going down, it amazes me every time he does it. And then we slaughter them because they have no idea whats going on.

Borlis Pass 89k (585)
Devonas Rest 12k (30)
Kaineng 10k (80)
our borderlands has a queue for the first time in a long time, that’s the only reason we have those 80 potential points.
There is a reward system for running in a group compared to solo. 5 people can take camps, towers, sentries, and up to 7 man opposing groups. You cant do that solo or with anywhere near as much efficiency as with a 5 man party.
My guild always has a WvW party going, and we invite randoms whenever they run with us.
Yeah Kaineng had a “big showing”(it was the same people we always have) the first 5 hours, but A. we never had a queue throughout the entire NSP week and B. after we all went to bed we woke up and everything was green the rest of the week…we only hold our own when we’re online. I didn’t see organization, all I saw were 30 man zergs at every major point on the map crushing everything in its path…we had to pull our whole server together to stop 1 of NSPs many war-parties
From Kainengs point of view, the only reason we lose is numbers…every group I’m with wins when we have a 1-1 ratio with the opposing force, even if they have 150 extra stats. Rarely have we lost an even fight(we being the group I’m in, I’m not aware of the success or failures of other groups)

Give it 6 more months, I’m sure it will even out with this flawless match making system.
/sarcasm
Ahh, sad to see some of the lower tier match ups are still imbalanced. And look at Storm holding the lead, nice.
To be honest, the bottom six, possibly nine servers are in a battle to see who is the worst and most horribly crippled by the first round of 7 day wvw. The first 5 hours of the AN FG NS match was some of the best pvp i have seen so far, and then everyone went to bed and NS won the week 6 hours in.
The exact same thing happened with Kaineng, Borlis, Devonas…borlis has already won by points. I’m surprised to see Northern Shiver winning, why were they in our bracket last week if they can win in the their own bracket by so much?
I wouldn’t mind an alliance, but I would prefer us to keep our communities separate…but in any case I’m sure servers will not be merged
Last night every 5 minutes there was a 20+ man DR group attacking our pangloss side of the map, and there was at least 10 FIST among them every time, this went on for hours…so of course after the first assault or 2 we strike back into ogres and umberglade etc.
I was one of the biggest “comon, lets leave them alone and go to NSP’s side” guys, but now I’m disillusioned and idgaf anymore.
With about 20 players, some Balistas and AC’s, we held Stonemists Central room against 3 times our number, 1 or 2 siege golems, multiple directions… there was no break in the waves of Borlis’ assault, but we held the Castle…for 3 straight hours. Like he said, we had easily 20 kills per player by the end.
This is what Kaineng is about – pure fun in the face of ridiculous odds. They need orb advantage AND 3 to 1 odds to push us across the map, take either of those away and we crush them most of the fights.
We lost the castle because half of us teleported back to take Pangloss, but it was already bed time for several of us anyway.
The 40 minute long plot and preparation to break into the castle is another story.
PS. thanks for staying out of our server with your “large wvw guild” with your attitude you would have likely hindered our morale and progress in becoming a more coordinated machine.

“Are all WvW matchups being decided by off peak hours?”
Absolutely NOT. Many get dominated by pure numbers, such as below.
Kaineng WvW is getting more players and the top guilds are getting more organized every day, we slaughter them left and right, but we cant hold anything being outnumbered 5 to 1, 24/7
So…will we be seeing you back in Kaineng/Devona’s bracket? maybe an even match again!
Support Guardian, Hammer/Sceptre Shield. I get plenty of badges and loots, no problem here…you guys just aren’t playing properly, and I hate to say that.
Or maybe when 1st has 75k point lead over 2nd place. Or when 1 world holds the entire match. Anything but 1 week ofkittenwith no lube! it gets a bit boring after awhile
But it’s not easier. It’s exactly the same as going to NSP borderlands and backdooring their camps, which we do all the time to good effect, easily.
I agree about the planetside/BGE “frontline” concept though.
Kaineng finally makes a rare push into EB, taking Mendons, Veloka, Pangloss, Speldan, and on the way to taking Overlook. We do even battle with NSP for 60-90 minutes I reckon.
Then DR vultures(“merc” guild or something) come in with 10-15 and takes Pangloss and another group takes Speldan TOTALLY screwing us over, and not 150 seconds later NSP rolls in with 30 and cleans up the remaining(not many thanks to DR) kaineng forces.
attached pics are 5 minutes apart, didn’t get one of red owning the north beforehand
Why does this need to happen? I’m pretty sure the intention for WvWvW is for the 2 underdogs to aim for the big one, not the 1st and 2nd place fighting for the scraps of 3rd. Seriously, it doesn’t take a military genius to attack NSP from 2 directions.
Who’s been screwing with my medicine.
I could dig a 1 minute timer then fade to black. Forced respawn and anything less than 1 minute is ridiculous though, most of the time I’m just telling my teammates if it’s safe to rez me
Kaineng – we don’t even know what a queue looks like.
I’m so glad I’m not in the top bracket. I’ve never seen a queue before, and plenty of enemies for everyone(10+ per, minimum)
Life is good in Kaineng.
Great idea, as Kaineng, with the average amount of our territory held ending up at 0/0/0/0, my guild has been settling for hit and run tactics on camps with 5-10 man groups…the problem is this is only good for the Event Rewards, and breaking in new warparty members…it is totally useless in the war effort, as they take it back with 20-30 man zergs within 5 minutes.
Running through NSP borderlands to reach the jump puzzle, I saw FOUR 3-5 man parties farming mobs. Seriously, how bored is NSP right now?
What is night? there is no night in cross-country video games. My night is your day, maybe the only reason your server does good during the day is because the other server is sleeping? so, YOU’RE night capping.
fixing “night capping” is silly.
Nice video, I’m still searching for my Guardian build…too many options, its frustrating.
How much healing does your Hold The Line do?
“Feel sorry for Kaineng. This is probably the best matchup they can give and it’s still a disaster.”
No, we’re somewhat equal with Devona’s, add in who we used to fight, Ferg or Borlis, and we’d have a fighting chance…at least when we fought them we held more then 2 camps
Take the plunge, switch to Kaineng, we don’t even know what being in the Queue looks like. 10-man+ daily Guild war-parties for us. There are fun times.
Re-name the buff “Tonight, WE DINE IN KAINENG!” for that added effect of peril, and I like it.
It’s war, you need to adapt. Use ranged when you need to, use Melee when you’re able to, that’s why we are able to switch between 2 setups.
As a guardian I use Sword+Focus for chasing opponents and finishing fights in our favor, I use Scepter+Shield for skirmishing battles/retreats. Don’t just whine when enemies use anti-melee abilities.
Pro tip to Devona’s Rest players – don’t aim so blatantly for Kainengs stuff! seriously, NS holds 97% of the map and we often see DR taking some of our very few locations in our homelands over the NS stuff…
I cant speak for the rest of Kaineng, but my guild has been going purely to NS borderlands with 10man groups for hit and runs on fully upgraded Camps/Towers for XP and tokitten them off. This is where we get tons of kills from slaughtering curious NS defenders. Plus we use this time to introduce new members to WvW(the recruitment into Kaineng WvW is constant and slowly improving)
Don’t be scavengers, be guerrillas. It’d be nice to have a gentleman’s agreement to stay out of each others kitten when facing such an oppressive foe. I miss Borlis/Ferg.
With respect, [Nuke]Feralblood of Kaineng
PS. this is no complaint, just merely a suggestion on tactics.
(edited by Splintrr.7391)
I don’t fully understand the guilds not wanting to move because of Influence, our guild has gotten most of the upgrades and there’s nothing particularly worth mentioning, aside from losing the Guild Bank, most of its temporary and the rest just takes like 1 week to get back up to speed.
To be sure, there’s a ton of no-brainer content that’s missing.
I dont really get how its possible that a server with at least a couple towsand players concurrently active cant muster more than 30 in wvwvw…
It’s not even a joke, Kaineng is in a bracket of its own.
We captured Stonemist for about 45 minutes today(yesterday) lost our 2 supply lines and abandoned it to protect Overlook.
Dead last place overall, the only way we can go is up. THIS… IS… KAINENG!
