you can also log out and log back in to go to Lion’s Arch and repair. Even the person who started the fractal can do this and you won’t lose your spot as long as the person who started instance DOES NOT switch characters or log out completely. Also I think at least one person has to stay in at all times but if you keep to those two things you can repair your armor any time in a FOTM.

BG and SOS have had longer stretches 2v1ing JQ.

but if it doesn’t end soon it could be a new record. not sure.
I think JQ was suppressed one friday night for over 5 hours.

I know i’ve seen BG/JQ get SOR and SOS both at one point or another, but only for an hour or two.

Double teaming and then fighting for the keep is one thing. Having SOR camping the keep entrance while JQ takes the keep, and having no resistance between them is another.

Not to mention SOR are being lapdogs to JQ at this point just so they can remain in tier 1.

This thread is lol. Forum Kittens have taken it over. @ BG and JQ its been a fun two weeks of farming err I mean PPT. Best Fights I have had in T1 up to this point have been in past two weeks. I look forward to another few weeks of good fights!!

My regular FOTM group is 1 support guard, 1 warrior, me(mesmer), 1 Engi, and 1 anything else we can find.

No matter who that 5th person is we generally plow through everything at 30+

I believe in balance as it has made my 30,32,34,36,38 dailies a breeze

as someone who regularly does 26/30 with a group of friends, but pugged my way up into the 20s…

a warrior is nice to have in the party.
a guardian is needed.

there are just too many places where projectile reflection/absorption is too useful. the full heal is too good in certain situations (mainly grawl boss, or undergeared party members at maw). the only fractal that is made a kittenton easier by a warrior is urban/charr, by using a warbanner on your vets when the captain kills them with agony.

Seems some people are pretty uninformed about AR. I’ve seen people on gw2lfg requiring 25+ AR for scale 20. Many people, including myself on an alt, have gone past 20 with 0 AR. I’m not sure where people get the idea they need so much AR at the early levels.

Same here. I did all the way up to 19 with 0 AR then to 23 with only 5. I think they just want to be carried.

@ Aksamitna you may want to check out the SE p1 and p3 speed clear as it is comparable to running CoF p1 and p2. Id be happy to show you guys some time if you interested.

I learned more about my class and what I was capable of at lvl 26-38 grawl and dredge fractals than I did anywhere else in the game before or since. I love them and can’t wait to learn them on other classes besides my mesmer.

pretty much everytime i do a 30+ in a pug with no guardian as asuran mesmer I dothe following:

let them take down the bubble(hopefully others are good at taking down bubble if not this would get real painful) as I used focus 4 ability dead center under boss sucked eles in one spot dropped feedback bubble then dropped radiation field to give them poison +50% fumble. Then i charged in with sword 3 used sword 2 on them so was invuln for 3 secs then shatter1 shatter2. Focus 5 for illusory warden so I can hide from all that aggro for a bit longer.

By the time the bubble is down over half the eles were down or almost down too, made it real easy for everyone else to mop up. At that point i switch to GS for mop up skills. In almost full zerker gear at 30+ you have to get as many almost dead as you can so 1. you can rally lol and 2. others have an easier time rallying as well.

I save Time Warp for last ele phase to ensure a clear

In every non guardian group on 30+ grawl we wiped until I did this and then one shot it when I did this, I hope this helps OP

BTW poison fields are underused in higher lvl fractals………start using them more people!

If your teammate is a thief and is able to use his class mechanic to go stealth the entire duration of console activation, will you ask him to go stand on the button instead or kite (or help the tanker at the button even after lvl 30 in the case of some people)?

My group is me(mesmer) 2 guards a thief and an ele. 1 guard helps ele on one platform other one helps me on mine and me and that guard keep adds off of thief on panel. It’s not that hard to do, you should try it it works great. Yes you can do with 4 or 5 guards but its defiantly really easy with only 1 or 2.

I still cant not believe that people think that cheesing anything is any viable way to do anything. It’s how you don’t get better at figuring things out…….

I did not say you were dummies and die more in a pug. I said I was against things that dummied down the player base AKA just stand on a button invisible for 30 seconds so we can faceroll the rest of this FOTM and learn nothing. I learned more about my mesmer and the things I can do with him from lvl 30+ dredge than I did anywhere else in the game. If I have to apologize for wanting to always become a better player because I am not lazy, impatient, entitled, or pressed for time…..well sorry I won’t do that.

Everyone else. if you don’t like the time sink well no one is forcing you to do high level fractals. AND no one is forcing you to use the lfg or pug. It’s an mmo, learn to make friends with similar goals, that’s what I did. There is far too many disconnected people in this community who want to queue up for a party not say a fricking word to anyone spam 1 and 2 until they get loot, then leave. Go play Skyrim!!! Also wtb high lvl urban battleground and dredge fractal farm group!!

@ Leo G Thanks for the thoughtful and non personal reply you made to my post earlier in this thread, It kind of got buried but I appreciate you writing such a long and detailed reply. I do see your point and get it. What I really gonna say now as I have yet to do this is roll another mesmer to lvl 35 and have average gear and try AC myself and see how it goes. I will update my thoughts on this thread once I’m done.

Funny how people still think the boss in CoE is glitching, when he’s not.
In case you didn’t know…
If you kill enough alpha’s essences, after a certain point the boss will go in cooldown. Cooldown as in he won’t move and he won’t attack at all. If you stop killing essences he’ll start moving/attacking again.
Alas after the HP cut, you won’t see him go in cooldown much if you’re running pugs that: 1. lack coordination and 2. don’t know about the feature.

Umm was not referencing that as glitching. That’s how I think is best way to kill him too. I’m talking about going in one path killing everything, then walking thru the walls to the end of the other 2 paths w/o resetting to get all 3 path clears w/o actually doing all three path clears…..which is why I said 3 in 1……..not sure why you thought i meant Subject Alpha stacking……I really hope they fix that glitch soon “most efficient” does not always mean “the right way” to do something. That Glitch meaning the 3 in 1 not stacking on alpha which I do not believe to be a glitch.

No not for tokens. I have 4 people that are willing to help me with Charged Lodestone farm for my legendary but I want to learn the most efficient way of doing the dungeon without using 3 in1 as that way of doing dungeons makes me uncomfortable like I am doing something wrong. I just don’t see many non 3 in 1 groups out there. I also don’t know whether it’s better to skip or kill most trash for drops(guessing skip) and just get thru all the paths as fast as possible without doing the 3 in 1. I am no stranger to speed runs I do AC super fast and CoF and also SE P1 and P3 regularly. I also have no problem killing everything in the kittening place if it’s worth it.

I will do a dungeon with anyone of any class even if they are new to it but every time I have done with a sub 80 EVERY KITTEN TIME it’s ended badly so sorry sir, for me at least the wall is blue. Label me an elitist in ignorance if you want but I am one of the nicest, friendliest, social, and helpful people in game and I refuse to do it.

So theoretically speaking, the devs could outright patch the game and tell you straight out that they’re making level 80s weaker in downscaled dungeons than appropriately level players in lower level instances and you’d still put corn cobs in your ears and go on thinking what you want?

No I am not saying this. I am saying basically that I have ran with sub 80s (CoF excluded because 75 is basically close enough)and I am done. If they changed stuff some more, then I would try again but as it stands now I am done. When I referenced people in the post before I was speaking of people in the forums, not the devs.

I am far more open to the idea of change and making it better to do this. Far more open to it than you are to see things from my perspective. Maybe that’s a bigger problem than stupid dungeons in a game.

If you want to take sub 80s, go ahead just leave me out of it.

umm lv 8 and lvl 10 are 2 different chests so go do your lvl 10 and get a chest(as long as you are at least personal reward lvl 10 or higher)

Ill take anyone, everyone brings something to the table. Mostly people only know how to cheese with heavies so of course that is the current favored path of least resistance.

Does this happen a lot with that person? I can see people cut their losses and leave instead of dealing with people who pay no attention and expect to be carried. There are a lot of people in this game expected to be carried by the entire group and doing nothing in return.

Man, I always forget how people get angry at the drop of a pin on forums.

I guess really I didn’t understand why there even needed to be a conversation about whether or not to have a conversation. I thought generally when people asked at Maw it was just being polite but then again I have a tendency to be more social and talkative and friendly than most of the people I end up grouped with. ( weird right)

Lately I have gotten the impression that even talking at all in some pugs is wasting time and people get annoyed which makes me sad. <sob>

HEY OP. Send me a tell anytime in game I am lvl 31 form level and run with any class anytime and will happily do low level fractals all day long.

I always want to kill but I ask in pugs because I recognize that not everyone wants to kill them even though they drop tons of awesome stuff. If people say that they want to skip I point out how awesome the loot is they drop but also concede that I don’t mind skipping because I am in a party of 5 and it’s not ALWAYS ABOUT WHAT I WANT TO DO.

What the guy above me said. I tried so hard to have it a month in to game and it didn’t work out. Now I am on the long grind and it’s a lot of fun. Oh snap yes I got my precursor and it’s not hard to do or expensive because I did not buy it. I just forged my way to it in a very smart way and now I am helping my friends do the same( though they are slightly more unlucky than I was) I still believe its possible and obtainable for anyone else and you don’t have to play 8 hrs a day, you just can’t have it today, sorry got to work for it. Put the idea of buying it out of your head and just go get it. What a novel concept eh?

How exactly you are helping leveling someone by doing a dungeon? Its a team work, you are helping THE GROUP the moment you attack the first silver in any dungeon.

No we do play the same game, and I do and I get what you are saying. Props to JQ and SoS for some of the best WvW I’ve had since I started playing. While I do miss our small strike force wrecking havoc all over the map(too zergy) this is far more enjoyable!

Stick with it. I love my mesmer but I did not really start “feeling it” until about level 40 or so. Since then it has been awesome even post lvl 80. In fact i have tried several other classes since then and every time I play them I feel like “why am I not on my mesmer”

So what I have gathered so far from my research is this: Even though my whole entire guild is on one server that just got a huge influx of players from the 2 other servers that we are stomping on a regular basis and my wife just bought the game to play with us, they suggest since she can’t get on here that we “all transfer servers and change our whole entire world just to play with that one person?” or “she can keep trying to play and eventually maybe someday she will get in?”

MY question is this: Why should I even play a game with that kind of “to hell with you and all you have done so far” mentality? Or am I missing something?
