How could it be an exploit (or count as unrestricted) if Wall of Reflection/Feedback does the same?
They do not do the same. Wall of Reflection/Feedback reflect the grenades The air blast on the gun turns the grenades into rockets which do several times more damage.
Lupicus’s Necrid Bolt hitting in melee is still an issue and needs to be addressed. I understand that it cannot simply be fixed in an instant, but a response on whether or not the change was intended and the future plans for Necrid Bolt would be appreciated greatly.
Spider/Skelk/Ice Drake Venom
Earth Shield yet again proves its dominance. The meta is changing at an alarming rate
( ?° ?? ?°)
I wonder if any class other than ele can do it?
If an undead mommy and undead daddy had a baby.. would the baby be dead? O.o
Unrelated to the current topic, but a question I have here. I’m pretty sure I remember reading somewhere that the dev’s said that improv will only boost the damage of stolen skills and no longer bundles, but then they also said that they’re taking away the damage portion of stolen skills. And now it says it’s just a 10% damage increase overall? I’m confuzzled.
Would be a decent way to get some dust out of the game. What we really need is a continuous dust sink though.
No. What we need to do is pick up this thread, and move it over to the general subforum. Then it’ll get noticed.
So I just got an infraction for passingly mentioning Dub’s DPS meter in the general subforum.. Do they not realize there’s like a 100+ post thread here about it?
I fanboy’d a bit on the inside when I saw a Hrouda post…
if you are playing a character with multiple weapon sets you can just press the “~” although without the shift required to actually get a “~” of course some professions only get 1 weapon set
Someone doesn’t understand what going on.
Say we have a thief that wants to quickly swap between D/D, D/P, S/P, and Sbow outside of combat. That’s where this comes in.
I’d definitely say yes, assuming you position yourself and cleave each part of the tree
Only number of targeted bolts scale. Damage and HP do not scale.
Gaile Gray is carrying Anet’s commuication harder than I carry pugs in Arah
Well, I eventually did get around to duo today, and when we started to sell, instant merge/kicked. I’m not even mad, I just didn’t know people still bothered to do that.
Keeping this at the top, where it belongs. Official response please? It’s been around two weeks now.
Was chillin outside Arah with Eric Rane, but he was ignoring all my offers to duo with him
=(
Get a sample size of at least 1000 before you try to make any claims like this, otherwise it can just be blown off as RNG.
/thread
Nope. Fractals are pretty punishing – either you dodge and live or don’t then die. Toughness won’t help you live much more… in fact, you will likely die more from holding aggro more
Thanks Dusk bro
Heh, I don’t think I’ve seen a staff-primary guardian in a fractal ><
You’re either new, or extremely, extremely lucky.
Probably luck. I’ve seen hundreds of these types of threads in many different games, and 98% of the time the answer is simply RNG. I haven’t seen any mention of drop rate changes, so I’m going with RNG on this one too.
I already feel that food switching is kind of stupid but using consumables to bypass profession limitations doesn’t feel right to me.
I also dislike food switching (makes attempts cost so much more) but since the Seaweed Salad wouldn’t help out the HS at all I feel like it’d be too much of a loss to not switch. I’ve been considering eventually doing a super consumable run where I use Strength Boosters, Med Kits, Golem in a Box on recharge, etc, to make an absolutely stupid looking kill. I wonder how much faster it would be.
The way I look at it I want my kills to fall under the speedrun rules, so no glitching and no consumables.

So, I’ll throw in some back story for this one. One day I was running around in circles outside of Arah like I always do, and my friend who I sell paths to asks me to run path 3 for him. Ok, so I go in, solo the Crushers, no sweat, and I get to Lupicus. For whatever reason, I decide to go for a speed kill even though I haven’t done any soloing in over a month.
For a while before this, one of my other friends and I had been throwing ideas back and forth about how to speed up thief Lupicus solos, and one thing that we had discussed was using 6/6/2/0/0 instead of the standard build. So, after getting Bloodlust stacks and killing Yissa, I decide to make the trait change and give it a go. Of course, taking Infusion of Shadow meant that I’d be doing Backstabs until 25% as opposed to 50% which I had done previously, which was new to me at the time. On top of that, my rotation would have to change, and I hadn’t solo’d in quite some time, so naturally, I played horribly. Despite getting hit by ungodly number of hits, having seven life drains in phase 3 (as opposed to 5 in my record) and having half of my Backstabs be Facestabs, I still managed to get a 5:43, only four seconds slower than my previous time. Was I on to something?
Coming that close with such poor execution and RNG made me think that running Infusion of Shadow helped improve my time, so I started doing a bunch of attempts using the new build. After a while, I eventually realized that running Infusion of Shadow was leading to more or less the same times to phase 1 and 2 as Thrill of the Crime was, so I figured that the big improvement was continuing Backstabs until 25%. Until this point, I was under the belief that starting Heartseekers at 50% was the fastest strategy simply because that was what I saw happen in the fastest times by Goku and Perry. I eventually swapped back to Thrill of the Crime, and throughout a week or so of attempts, I chipped away at my time, going through 5:38.9, 5:38.0, 5:37, and finally a 5:28. Despite the poor RNG, I’m quite happy with this run since I think my execution was pretty good(other than phase 1.... I hit a 1:08 during an attempt a bit before it Q.Q), and I managed to only get hit once throughout the entire fight.
I tried for a few days to maybe get some better RNG, but I haven’t had much success. The one time I managed to get a five Life Drain phase 3 I ended up with a time of 5:27, but my execution as awful to the point where I facepalm whenever I watch the video. So, I decided to upload this one instead. I’m not done trying to improve this though, but I’m taking a break from it for a bit while I practice some other dungeons.
TL;DR - So, in short, the moral of this story is to simply not blindly follow what people have done before you, but instead to take the time to try out new things. Who knows, maybe you’ll find some weird new strat to save a bit of time.
P.S. Unfortunately I somehow lost the clip of it, but did you know Lupicus’s weapon type is a hammer? If you Daggerstorm in place during the p1/2 transition and reflect a hit of his Frenzied Barrage, the reflected projectile will hit and kill the grub. On one of my attempts when I did this, I ended up progressing my "Hammer Master" achievement to 500/500.

bump. I am interested as well.
Is that healing shouts that I spy?
Where are you seeing healing shouts? Unless I’m not understanding something, I don’t see them
My vote is that it shouldn’t be allowed. At least to me, when it says “immune” whenever you try to CC him, he should really be immune.
It’s awesome how this community can come together and do something like this. Fractals and dungeons best subforum, keep it up!
So, since you said you wouldn’t be willing to update the code for other resolutions, would you be willing to post some sort of guide on how we could do it on our own? I know absolutely nothing of this coding nonsense XD
Yawn. Yes, this is a good idea and I agree with you, but it has been posted here so many times it’s getting annoying to see.
Fixed as of just about now.
Minicus Lupicus. ’nuff said.
It’s not documented anywhere, but that’s how it is. Knowledge through experience trumps knowledge from an outside source.
As valid as your points are, they’ve been brought up here 9001 times already. Give it a rest, nothing will happen =/
nice work
do you have high ping?
It’s either very low or very high. It comes and goes in spikes.
Props for most properly timed run too (should have added ~a second and call it flawless imho)
Thanks for appreciating it. I spent an extra half hour or so correcting the video because I noticed my timing was off by 2 frames in the beginning and 1 frame at the end (no idea how it happened) so I pretty much had to start over.
I figured I’d indulge in, say, thirty hours of self loathing.
600gb of video files, 566 large moldy bags, and 40g worth of food later, aaaaand

There you have it.
Since I have no idea where to put this since the BLTC forum got removed, I’ll put it here.
Minicus Lupicus would be the greatest minipet ever. Give it an animation for Lupine Barrage, maybe Frenzied Barrage too, complete with mini AoE circles, and I’d be willing to pay about 1500 gems for it. I just spent the last 30 in game hours with Lupicus and now that I finally improved my world record on him, I feel lonely not seeing him anymore.
As a slight grammar kitten I feel inclined to say that the plural form is asura and not asuran.
The filter on this forum makes me look up the weirdest cat pictures
Darude – Sandstorm
Sorry, couldn’t resist XD
I know the earth ele makes essentially 0 difference when it comes to the damage, but it did hit 5 seconds before you started the timer. So your time should be 22s.
Still, it is very impressive. Faster than I see 5 man groups do it
I kind of miss times when people kicked you for meleeing Lupi and when people thought Scholar was a waste.
CoF path1 day, ping berserker with scholar “ruby orb only sorry” kick
4 warriors 1 mes only.
The current meta, in terms of composition, is two elementalists, a warrior, and the last two spots vary. Usually at least one is a thief, and then the other can be a guardian, mesmer, ranger, or engineer, depending on what you need.
It would also help to know what class you play. Ele, for example, had FGS nerfed so it’s no longer useful for anything other than mobility. Instead, everything gets Ice Bow’d to death now. Usually groups take either two s/f or s/d eles or one and a staff ele.
Warriors had a big adrenaline nerf and a greatsword damage nerf, but I think GS is still the way to go. Axe/mace also had a buff by increasing the vuln on the mace skill.
If you played before the new grandmaster traits came out (which was April) then Thieves are a bit different. Instead of the old 5/6/0/0/3, you run 6/6/0/0/2 to pick up Revealed Training for +200 power while revealed. Also, Dagger auto attack now cleaves 2 targets, which is nice in some situations. Lastly, Black Powder only blinds once every 2 seconds, which can be a pain when trying to solo something like Melandru, but in groups you should be fine.
The rest of the other classes, I play significantly less, so please correct me if I’m wrong.
Guardian, as far as I know, is the same as before. As for a not class specific change, Guards (and mesmers to a lesser extent) can instakill Lupicus from phase 2 to dead by traiting for ground target wall, and putting WoR on top of the wall so lupi’s head is in the wall.
Mesmers can also do this with curtain, or a untargetted feedback (aim down?)
Rangers got a buff to their longbow, so now a lot of rangers carry longbow solely for opening burst of fights. Barrage, Rapid fire (which is twice as fast) and then back to sword/axe or sword/warhorn for the rest of the fight. They also got a new trait that lets them do more damage to crippled/chilled/immob foes (barrage!) so overall their personal DPS is much better.
And we all still hate necros =)
This is perfect.
I’ve just done Arah p4 with some guildies. I was doing the lights at Simin and due to the fact that I missed to place some, i ended up with 3 at the same time. Those 3 were following me and didn’t reset.
I didn’t test it more, but i believe it “might” be fixed.
I will be so happy if it is. I’ll do an Arah p4 solo later tonight and test it out, and will report back here.
Confirmed it right now, it is not fixed.
B-B-B-BINGOOOOOOO!!!!!
Oh wait, wrong forum.

I think for every piece of berserker gear that we wear, we should get one stack of a “filth” debuff that makes your character look, well, filthy.
If Simin has less than 65% health she disappears every 45 seconds. If Simin has more than 65% health she disappears at 50% health.
So the 65% is the “first threshold” that a lot of groups fail to pass?
And when you say she disappears every kitten , I guess that’s not necessarily from when she reappears. It’s just a 45 second long “tick” that keeps going regardless of the situation? That would be the “global timer” PMiku was talking about
Whew, thanks for explaining the mechanics behind this one. Spark aggro was driving me insane, not knowing why I could only get two at a time.
