I have found that reducing damage from conditions is much more important to me than direct damage, so I pretty much gear for vitality over toughness. In my condition damage/survival set I have 18k HP/1100 cond damage.
I use a mix of carrion and shaman, because I also like having extra healing power to keep me alive via signet of malice/assassins reward.
I melee just fine in dungeons. Death blossom 3-5 times, stack bleeds, then dodge out of melee, pop initiative regen/might stacking sigils, then roll in, death blossom 3-5 times, dodge out, roll for initiative out, rinse and repeat. I do tons of bleed damage to packs of mobs and single target.
You just have to be quick with your dodges, and make sure that if youre not dodging, youre evading with death blossom.
I do use shortbow a lot, but just saying, Im not really afraid to melee.
I tested it again today, and I realised it heals you when whatever move you are doing is finished(I used death blossom and I was healed when I hit the ground after my twirl).
Wiki says it heals you per initiative based on your healing power, but with 300 hp using a 5 ini ability i was healed for 392, so im sure there is some kind of scaling.
Anyway, doesnt heal enough for me to take it over quick recovery or quick pockets.
‘Duelist’ armor pieces. You can buy the level 76-79 ones for 50s to 2g a piece.
For condition builds, carrion gear(power/vitality/cond damage) is good for a mix of offense/defense. Same with Shaman pieces(cond damage/healing/vitality).
For non-condition damage, power/precision/vitality gear is a nice mix, I think there might also be toughness/power/prec.
The pure damage pieces are berserker(power/prec/crit damage).
I have tested this trait as well and I didnt notice any healing at all. I was not at full health, and I was not using signet of malice. No green numbers on my screen when I was spamming death blossom, no health bar movement.
I like traits that heal you, and I wanted to use it, but I didnt notice the effect at all.
I run dual daggers/shortbow condition build stacking initiative regen traits, condition damage/vitality/healing.
It works amazing for killing groups of mobs, and so far I have been able to survive easily in dungeons, while still providing support via shadow refuge and blinding powder.
However I have yet to run the harder exploration mode dungeons, I recently hit 80.
With my build, I can spam Death Blossom almost endlessly. I take all the initiative boosting traits from critical strike, acrobatics, and trickery. It also gives me good survival in dungeons between blossom evading, constant dodging, and good damage with might stacking on signet use and dodging.
I cant link it from work, but if you want I can when I get home.
shaidyn, im sure there are players who would be satisfied with no rewards for completing dungeons other than a sense of accomplishment. However I think we can all realistically agree that the vast majority of players run dungeons for the loot, achievements, or whatever.
I too am disappointed with the loot system because I have yet to loot a single item from a boss that would be an upgrade for me.
Im not level 80 yet, but I have done AC three times, CM twice, and TA twice.
They are hard with a random group, but with my guild I think they are fine so far, and I greatly enjoy them compared to WoW dungeons.
deadly arts/trickery is great for double dagger damage. You will be very squishy though.
I have found that trickey/acrobatics is a good combo for damage/survivability. Acrobatics lets you dodge a lot more, boosts your initiative gain(which means more lotus spam), and gives you a big health boost to survive those nasty conditions.
If you like using twin pistols, then maybe a crit/shadow build would be your style, it brings group utility too.
I tried making my character “Agent Stx” and it said it was reserved… I find it hard to believe that an ingame npc would be called that, but okay… Stx The Shadow is growing on me.
Gotta have duels!!!!!!
+1
This happened to me as well. Try running the game as Admin, worked for me.
Hi, Im trying to find what armor set the npc thieves who can be summoned via ambush and thieves guild have equipped, i love the looks of it.
Im only lvl 50, but I cant preview the appearance of any higher level medium armor on the trading post.
Is that armor even in the game for players? Its really cool! Thanks.
It would be nice to have profession forums for discussion/aid/strategies/whatever.
Try a warrior, guardian, or ranger.
Im trying to find a build I like that has a balance of defense and offense. I was dying very fast with my deadly arts/trickery dagger build, even with all the lotus evading, so I tried a shadow/acro build and i could basically tank 3-4 mobs without losing much health. That was fun, but I didnt like how long it took me to kill something.
I might try deadly arts/acro or deadly/shadow.
