I always wanted to see what happen if u don’t close all the portal in timer, don’t kill all the elite, and don’t kill all his summoner. Due to the events being so easy with it being on mega server, we never get the chance to see what happen if it fails.
Here is what I purposing, we setting a date and time and fill up wayfarer foothill, then leave map to put the map on closing 30min before the meta.

What’s the point of events that can only reset or trigger when the previous event fail nowadays when mega server totally ruined. With so many headless people running around trying to complete event that is already next to impossible to fail, it really become pointless. I really wish they would leave the individual server map alone intact while giving option to a leave or join megaserver.

Mystic Forge: Precursors

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: SundayTrash.9562

SundayTrash.9562

Haha no problem. I’m a victim of the Mystic Toilet, thought I could help save you money.

There are some people in the game, however, who dump weapons into Mystic Forge that seem to get precursors regularly.

Many believe there is a phantom variable that affects RNG. I am one of these conspiracy theorists. It’s just hard for me to buy into true RNG when one account can get 20+ precursors from MF and another get none. You would expect in the long run it all to average since each individual MF submission is its own RNG.

The vast majority of players lose small fortunes in the MF.

Honestly if I were you I would try to save up 100g, buy a bunch of the cheapest level 80 Rare greatswords you can and throw them in the MF. If you get a precursor then you may very well be one of the chosen few. If you get nothing worth noting (you will get exotic greatswords, but they will end up only being worth 2-3g, which will not cover your costs) then don’t bother with MF anymore.

Then again, it could all really be random. There have been instances in other games where RNG was claimed to have been truly random only for it to be discovered later there was in fact a line of code that contradicted the system. It has been discussed in other conspiracy threads.

All I know is that if Anet were to one day say “oh dang our bad there was a variable that made certain accounts have better odds on X loot table lawlz” that nobody would be surprised. Anet makes mistakes, nobody can deny that.

Guess what, its not anet openly admit it https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/crafting/Official-Response-Drop-Rate-of-Legendary-Precursors/first

We’ve seen players discussing the topic of crafting legendary precursor weapons and claiming that we’ve made changes to make this more difficult. We’d like to be clear that we did not make any across the board changes to reduce the drop rate, nor was it our intention to significantly increase the difficulty in acquiring these precursor weapons.

We did fix a few bugged recipes that were rewarding Legendary precursors more often than they should have been. These recipes were mostly using Rares in the level 70-75 range and mostly affected the precursors for the greatswords and the dagger. This has had some effect on the drop rate when using lower level rares to attempt to get a precursor but it was never intended for that to be the best way of acquiring these weapons. The recipes for throwing in level 80 exotics have not changed at all.

We have been watching the prices climbing on Legendary precursors and share your concerns about some of them becoming too expensive. We will continue to monitor the situation and will make any adjustments we feel are necessary.

Never stated there’s no reason to join one. Just saying there is not much benefit outside of social, and guild missions. Its also problematic the game don’t priorities and leave slot open for guildies to come to bigger events like teq and wurm. Plus dungeons are at most 5 man, so you are bound to leave out some people that really wants to come.

How exactly would prioritising slots for Guildies solve anything? Pretty much everyone that goes to the Mega bosses is in a guild & would therefore have a slot prioritised for their fellow members.

Why can’t we create a private?

Private what? Megaboss? because this game is not instanced. That would be counter-intuitive, wouldn’kitten It is hard to have the same boss as instanced and open world – one or the other not both.

Actually each zone is a instance with a player cap. A totally totally open mmo would have every zone connected without a need entrance/exit portal and Zones would not have a player cap.

Have you considered playing with handicaps then?

- No consumables
- No reflect teams
- Fight naked

If you’re just too skilled for certain content, then you’ll eventually reach a point where the only way to be challenged anymore is to handicap yourself, such as trying to solo dungeons.

Done a no reflect teams couple of weeks ago after the patch hit and don’t know about reflect not working on eggs, still manage a kill.
Done a Naked Teq, and no consumables as well.

Guilds do need some love in this game, but that doesn’t mean there’s no reason to join one.

Of course, if all you care about is rewards and mechanics and challenge from that point of view, you’d be right. But then there are guilds that become almost like families. We play together. Do missions together. Do jumping puzzles together, clear zones together.

We have a great time. It’s usually more than five people, so just partying up wouldn’t really work.

But yes, being social is one of the best reasons to join a guild. Then we pop guild buffs on weekends (buffs not banners) which is another reason. And we go into WvW sometimes (which is certainly a reason to guild up).

And we run Guild Missions twice a week.

Not to say that guilds don’t need some love, because I believe they do, but saying there’s no reason to join one…I’d probably not be playing this game if not for the guild.

I’m confused. If the content is too easy, what is your complaint about ‘pugs’ being around, then? Either they have no impact on your gameplay (the content is too easy), or you find the content challenging with many different people (the pugs are ruining the game). smh

caz this was not a pug run. What I am trying to point out is that, pug might see the content as something thats complex, and near impossible, but in realty its actually very ez with a organize guild run.

Guild wars comes from the series of human wars called “the guild wars”. If you dont want to run the inexperienced pugs, dont start an lfg, and gather guildies before hand. Its pretty simple really. Challenging PvE in the form of mega bosses? you already got that with Teq, and the three headed jungle wurm. Yes you do need to show up because it requires coordination and planning, and not something everyone can do casually. However if they were to add more such content, itd still be a mindless zerg fest with people just pressing 1, as you say, because anything that requires more than that requires you be there early to plan and coordinate.

There are lots of things you can do as a guild aside from guild mission. Maybe you can come up with guild activities that can be challenging and fun. Like a scavenger hunt, or something. The game isn’t responsible for making you have fun, if you dont find it fun, maybe its time to move on?

First of all after killing teq and wurm daily for months with TTS, its really hard to consider them hard anymore.
Second its hard to avoid pugs when they flood into ur map rather u like it or not.
Third coordination and setting up only require couple of min if u have regulars, u can skip the introduction and get to the point, but the flaw side is the game don’t priorities guildies from pugs.
And lastly just like any mmo with raid content, people would still do it daily, its just that setting up and getting the regulars into the same map is just a hassle in this game, that it is not really worth it to wait there for a hour and only to fail it caz of the unwanted pugs

For a game that name itself guild wars, there is hardly any benefit in joining one. We sick of playing with pug that don’t know wtf they’re doin that’s taking up valuable slot while guildies are spamming join. We want more challenging pve content that we can do as guild and not have to show up a hour earlier just to get into the map. By challenging i mean mega bosses and not some guild mission challenge difficultly.
For the past 2 years the game has been a focus toward casual that could give a about the content once they finish with the achievement and anything more difficult outside of spamming 1 are avoided with a 10 feet pole.

“You cannot program an “auto-clicker” macro that, for instance, opens chests while you play elsewhere.” ? this part? this does not say an auto-clicker alone is against the rules. just that you can’t be opening chests with an automated program while you’re off doing jumping puzzles.

functionally speaking, an auto-clicker that make your computer click the mouse 10 times a second is identical to binding it to a mouse wheel. both will perform a kitten-ton of clicks in a short period of time from only one action performed by the user (spin the wheel vs. activate auto-clicker). auto-clickers and wheel-bindings are not what they have in mind when they say macros can be against the rules, but they both skim the line. no developer has ever said a auto-clicker, by itself, is against the rules.

My question is, where are all the money from the gem store being funnel to. We know that they’re making net profit by their financial reporting.
It wouldn’t be so bad if they would improve game play wise by fixing bugs and problems that existed since the game came up, getting kick out of dungeon when host leaves, chat logs disappearing, events that gets stuck, events that are bugged and likely will never occur again, stealth is op (hardly any counter), warrior is op (seriously how can something thats so tanky still dish out massive damage or how can something so glassy still be so tanky), no gvg (for a game that call itself guild wars)
Also we don’t want no living story that any recent college grad can come up with, what we want is challenging content, raids that lets us work unit as a guild to take down, we need more bosses like teq and wurm that rewards ppl with unique skins, not just a reskin of another item.
As of right now, I don’t see any benefit of guild. Give us a reason to join or form guild, to communicate and work together to take down something big.

For the rewards

Seriously, pretty soon this game will have more weapons/armor originating from the gem store than from the actual game.

Oh well, the woes of a F2P game I suppose.

Are people OK with this? I’d actually almost prefer at this rate to not have new stuff added if it’s only gem store based.

What happened to doing a cool quest line or killing a difficult boss to get a weapon skin in games?

You get that from the good ole sub-based games. Anet has to keep paying the rent, so the Gem Store is what we get.

I can mention another game that was launched as " No sub".. was revolutionary in it’s time, it based it’s business model on selling you expansions, just because Gw2 is centered on the gem store, does not mean that is the only business model that works.

That other game included a gem store at some point, although it was so unobtrusive that I only found out about it, by reading about it on these forums…

For years, after Prophesies, Factions and Nightfall, I still had no clue it had a Cash shop.

So no, I don’t accept that " Gem Store is what get" It’s more Like " Gem Store is what we are being given." and " gem Store is what a Lot of us are willing to accept, and be happy with."

This game is much MUCH more costly to maintain than the original GW was. I want an expansion just as much as the next guy, but the Gem Store is their necessary evil at the moment since they aren’t charging a sub.

I don ’t see it such, I mean instead of generating each instant for each party, the game will now only generate new instant when the population reach capacity. with the mega service they can now lower the amount of instant by consolidating everyone into the same playing field instead of spreading ppl into different instants by server.
A truly open world would have no portal, or zone block off by body of water or mountain range.

Something I don’t is why anet insist on using higher number. If we just decrease the ascended mats drop amount to 1-2 per box, dungeon path, world boss chest… Etc and lower the require amount for brick down from 100 to 20, it would still require the same amount of effort and time, at the same time we wouldn’t have to deal with much crap taking up our slot.

Sounds like more elitist talk, we need a good blend of all lvl maps not just exclusive to lvl 80. Also, you are most likely going to be very disappointed tomorrow, I highly doubt we will get a new map at all other than a revamped wildlands, much less lvl 80 exclusive map. That probably wont come for some time. Giving under lvl 80 maps will at least give new under lvl 80 players something of the new stuff that they can lvl in, even if they cant play the actual story yet.

Lol, just lol, new under lvl 80 player have plenty of places to see and explore. The reason the game is dead is because they been cathering toward non lvl 80. Get real, the games been out for 2 years, veteran player have been starving for challenging content, Teq is old and can be kill by pugs most of the time now, evolve wurm gets kill 95% of the time by TTS daily.

The Gold/Gem ratio

in Black Lion Trading Co

Posted by: SundayTrash.9562

SundayTrash.9562

As someone who only ever converts gems to gold occasionally, you have to consider it from our perspective… back when it was 4g per 100 gems = 32g per $10. Would I pay USD$1 for 3.2g? Lol no way. Yes, back then I could buy more things for 3.2g than I can now, but I convert $20~$50 at a time. I’d rather spend my money on something else.

If it was 12g per 100 gems = 96g per $10. I’m happy to pay USD$1 for 9.6g. BUT the rate going the other way isn’t equal, so if we exchange gems to gold we don’t get 12g for every 100 gems we put into the exchange.

You are waiting for the price of gems to drop, I am waiting for the price of gold to drop. As long as there is this standstill, the price will continue to work in gold-buyers’ favour until an acceptable conversion rate is achieved.

You may get more gold in exchange, but u also forgot to mention prices of good triple or quadruple over that same duration. Ur spending power may not actually change much, while the gold to gem suffer from much less spending power.

Golds from dungeon is killing the economy

in Fractals, Dungeons & Raids

I guess you missed his screenshots with nearly 1k gold & thousands of tokens, try reading the whole topic before you reply.

So, the study done by the admin of gw2trading was super good, shme you are only a newcomer to the economic qestions and didn’ have the opportunity to read it.

1K gold is zilsch IMO. I make that in a month of dungeon running. Add basic TP activities and I’m at 4-5K gold a month.

Thus, it doesn’ prove his point at all. OP has no clue what he’s talking about. You neither. And John Smith knows what he’s doing by the way.

Again u fail to understand that out of 1K u gain from dungeon ur not really pumping additional gold from tp activities since it has to come out of someone elses pocket. Tp activity actually benefit the ecnomy by remove some currency from circulation.
Admin of gw2trading create posts to pump and dump.

Without enough coming in though prices would just go down and down. The idea is to keep things stable, not to make them plummet or to make them shoot up.

I think they’ve done a far better job in this game than they have in any game i’ve played in the past /shrug.

This is why I suggest replacing gold with mats. Improve dungeon mobs drop like having chances of dropping T6, small amount og currency like couple of copper to a silver. Dungeon boss will have better chance at dropping rare, exo, while end boss have chances of dropping unique loot.
Remember how Fractal was b4 they nerf the mob drop to oblivion. remember how they would have high chances of dropping exo, and even tho fractal wasn’t rewarding ppl still do them for the skin.

That’s exactly it though, that’d reverse the situation, so instead of a slow crawl upwards, it’d be a pretty decent shot downwards.

If you’re right in that there are thousands of gold flooding the market daily, then cutting off that stream would have pretty major implications to the economy wouldn’kitten Why is a big shot down better than a slow trickle upwards?

Question the amount, ask that maybe it be dropped from 1g to 80silver and inject some more mats into the rewards would be a reasonable request I think as in the time I’ve been playing there has been a decent trickle upwards in the costs. But asking that it be cut down to a couple silver… that’s dangerous.

My suggestion is up to the players, the more mobs they kill the currency they would make per run.

So your problem is not the money but that people speed run?

Yeah, I’m starting to think this is the real reason behind the OP.

Sry but I feel that dungeon are too short that it need some necessary road block that are no skippable.

I dont remember there being a lvl 13 dungeon, never once claim I have a speed run team, I usually pug 80s group thats exp, I am satisfy clearing 4 path a hour, since i don’t run all 16 ez path a day, I normally only run 6-7 path.

I think someone needs to read their own posts, maybe you’ll understand if I type it like this: if u reread all ur own previous posts ull be abl to kep ur story strait.

This would also resolve the speed run problem.

Hahaha, when you say the “speed run problem” do you actually mean the “I don’t like people doing things better than me, I want to wear clerics and do stuff just as fast problem”?

Read the whole post, I do speed run as well

I do speed run, but I don’t have a team that does it regularly. And my definition of speed run, maybe different than ur. It not like I am trying to break the time record, what I consider speed run is fast party that can skip and kill stuff atleast semi fast rate, in another language, avg of 15 min per path.

So you are making up a definition of speed run so you can wear cavaliers and probably use a poorly optimized spec; but, since your definition of speed run is different you can still advertise it as a speed run and get berserkers to carry you. Also those people carrying you shouldn’t be able to make any money from dungeons since you already made yours so now it’s ok to nerf it.

If u read my suggestion, at the end of the day, the lower amount of gold they gain will be compensated for by crafting mats. Well excuse me for not being a elitist, I dont ppl for no reason, as long as they’re 80 and knows what they’re doing, I am fine with that.

Exactly, the cash gain in CP is smaller than dungeons but the material gains are about the same. Yet prices of materials have gone UP.

Why is that? Is it safe to say that the ratio of gold:materials being put into the economy isn’t the only variable determining price?

U have to consider the almost of ppl that actually are in gold cp. There also ppl like me who hoard their gold boxes, and use the token for personally use.

You guys are still missing the point, there is clearly not enough mats to match for the gold being generated from dungeons. If u look at the history of the cost, u will see that the amount you earn stays the same while prices continue to raise, its normal for 2-3% annual inflation, but the trend we’re seeing here is a monthly increase. So at the end of the day your spending power is actually getting less and less.

Again, I say that what you’re suggesting is going to have a massive impact on the economy. If your assertions are correct then we’re talking about thousands and thousands of gold each day not coming into the economy when previously it did.

Those who currently have money suddenly find that money much more valuable. Prices on everything will go down rapidly. Those who are rich get richer, and those who are poor are sitting waiting for the economy to level out so they can actually purchase things for prices they can afford with what they make.

Again, I’ll say that I don’t feel you’re completely off base as it does seem like prices are steadily on the rise, but it’s slow and gradual and well within reason considering the acquisition of items/gold.

If you’re trying to suggest that they need to stabilize the rise of cost on t6 mats then a more reasonable suggestion would be something along the lines of reducing gold reward on dungeon completion from 1g to like 80s and making a guarenteed t6 mat drop… or something like that.

But, I’d also argue that there are other variables involved othe than just gold acquisition and material drop rates.

CP is out, and while it’s not generating dungeon type gold, it does bring money into the economy through a couple silver here and there (end of a night I end up with like 5g in pure cash usually) but it also brings in quite a few materials through salvaging/luck from bags. So we see this pretty popular thing giving out over 7-14 champ bags worth of loot per round injecting far more materials than gold compared to dungeons and yet since it’s creation we’ve seen prices on the materials go up, and quite rapidly. Before CP prices were generally ~35-40s per t6, now they’re ~40-60s.

So we got something with a better ratio of gold:mats but the prices went up? what other variables are involved?

My thought is the prices went up because of the introduction of a new style in lyssa, and the return of some older rarer styles. This caused the rich people to give up some of the gold they were sitting on, injecting much more gold into the system. This let some people who didn’t run dungeons to have enough money to think about ascended crafting, or whatever other things they wanted but previously saw as out of reach. Which increased the demand on such items and therefor increased the price.

Also summer is starting, I imagine it’s a pretty active time for some people, especially kids who now don’t have school so can play all day if they want.

Economics is not an easy topic. In fact I think the experts don’t even know what they’re talking about half the time. Overall though the economy of GW2 is the best video game economy I’ve seen, and I don’t think making any major changes would be a good idea.

Maybe the title is a bit exaggerating, but as for cp u have to remember the amount of gold ur gaining has to be coming out of somewhere for BB to start. It takes an avg of 11-21s per person for it to start.

Hell yeah. Remove the dungeon gold. Players should have to work in mines for 70% of their gameplay time to make money imo. At 10 silver and hour.

Again ppl are jumping the gun, read my previous posts on suggesting cutting the amount being handle out, and replace it with crafting mats instead.

I guess you missed his screenshots with nearly 1k gold & thousands of tokens, try reading the whole topic before you reply.

I guess you missed the sceenshot with Cavalier stats on his Eternity(I know it can be changed but he is most probably gonna run CM or just ran it standing on the gate) and Bloodlust+Accuracy Sigil which directly says he is in no way speed running any dungeons(even in daytime ones those aren’t optimal for speed running, but then again he doesn’t have another GS for nighttime dungeons too). Also downleveled for lvl 13 with 165 power, 38% crit rate and 82 ferocity just shows he isn’t geared/traited for any speed runs too.

1k gold + thousands of tokens doesn’t necessarily mean “speed running”, it just means he had time to acquire those whether it be 33 or 100 hours (non-speed running or speed running but gear/sigil choices and stats obviously says he’s not speed running lol).

Try learning what speed running dungeon involves before you reply.
