I’m making a new class trying to go for 100% map completion could use some help deciding on a ranger or thief. I had my main pros and cons was wondering if I could get some help deciding.
Ranger pros
Love attack animation with sword
Decent dps
Not to squishy using bears to tank
Cons
Hate the long bow, feels like useless ranged dps
Swords auto attacks annoying with lunges
Pet doesn’t seem to always take the agro
Thief pros
Love the short bow for ranged
Enjoy initiative system
Great dps
Cons
Low level mobs are just crushing me
Don’t want to rely on black powder and just auto attacks isn’t as fun
My main questions are….
Does thief get a little bit more better at surviving later levels
Will thief black powder and just auto attacks out dps ranger?
Does ranger do better overall 100% solo all through pve? Not doing any dungeons have warrior and guardian for that.
Do bears still tank fine in places such as orr?
Think thief would still do ok? I like the play style much more, but do feel squishy as can be.
So rangers going to be better overall pve soloing you think?
I’m on phone can’t seem to edit, had one more question. I want to solo pve and unlock everything. Would this be better with a ranger or thief? Might do some wvw to. But I’ll save my spot guardian for dungeons. Thanks!
I am just coming back to the game, I noticed every single dungeon group is warriors, guardians, sometimes a ranger. When I left each class was just as good as the other, what the heck happened? I have both war and guardian at level 80 already however found each class a little boring. Are rangers ok with sword and torch? Was there a massive nerf or something to all the other classes that make them not useful?
So the game is mostly just PvP now? Is there much to even do in the pve aspect now besides getting this ascended gear
I haven’t played really sense a couple months after release. I needed some help maybe.
I left with my warrior and guardian in full CoF armor and weapons. And full sets of runes. What armor tiers are next? How do I access them?
My warrior had dual axes which at time was very good. Is this still considered good? Also my guardian had 2h sword. Is that still the best for PVE and dungeons?
I will be doing mostly pve. Also what else is there to do in toys game now? Thanks a bunch!
