For a little bit I was really really looking forward to posting a dragonhunter. Then I went onto my ranger again and played for a while. I feel everything dragonhunter can do the ranger can do better, and more easily. Plus we have a pet on top of it taking all agro for us in pve. Is anyone here thinking dragonhunter will be better then the ranger as is already? If so why?

You can do everything in pvp so I guess that if you buy HoT you will have instant access to everything there.

Say I don’t like necromancer, but I’m really wanting to play as a reaper. If I get HoT would I be able to go to heart of the mists and play around with a reaper if I made a necromancer? Would be at least nice if we could test builds on dummies see if we like a class as before so we don’t have to level a new class to 80 then find out were not a fan.

I know as much as you do about the true percentage of people who are unhappy, that is why I said, “I think”. But all evidence points to the majority being unhappy in some fashion.

The thing though, there isn’t an mmo I’ve ever played without something like this happening. Honestly this will just blow over to considering it’s not even a big deal.

^^ only mmos I really really played but I’m sure others had things like this happen to with the forums exploding with a major complaint.

Well the pricing is “high” for this not being as big as past gw type expansions. But the price is very fair still for this massive of an mmo without a subscription fee.

Well your not entitled to anything. That is what’s confusing me so much. You were able to play an amazing game with no subscription fee for almost 3 years. Anet doesn’t owe us anything at all.

I loved all the starting zones by far the most in the game ha. Favorite part of the game. Just keep up with your personal story, try getting new gear every 10 levels if you can, and just simply have fun with the game. It’s not like other mmo games if you played them, this one’s really just about simple fun

We usually have a very great nice welcoming community on forms and in game.

Anyone have an estimated cost of a full set of zerker heavy ascended gear? Like what would I need total? 2000 hold, 50 skill points? Any items needed? Anything special need unlocked other then crafting or is the recipie purchasable to?

Play specizalations and still be happy still. Farm new gear keep saving for ascended armor work towards the new legendary weapons. I personally don’t mind buying simply just to support anet the specizalations are what I’m getting which makes me happy enough to get

Just go play the game and have fun. By release you can get a good solid 90 hours of great play for 40 bucks which tops just about any game out there.

None of us did a head count, so no one gets to claim majority for either side.

And yes the people on the forums do complain about nearly anything… but is that what is going on here? This is quite a heated discussion, that has also spread to Reddit. A lot of players are angry. You can’t just handwave that as every day forum-complaining.

Just a phase. Did you ever play ff 14? They did these atma fate quests based on a really low rng system. The forms exploded with complaints. But in the end…..people who wanted it did it, those who didn’t want to didn’t, game moved on as will this one

Nothing in this world is free if you want just the core game it will cost you and your better off waiting for HoT release most likely will drop to 10 bucks

You do know without the gem store anet wouldn’t have a staff, servers, zero content, and just no game period right?

I spend 20 bucks a month on things I don’t need just to support the game. Options are gem store or 15 bucks a month for everyone.

Even if anet removed the free base game for new players it would still be $50. Please understand the ONLY thing anet did was be generous to new players which will also get new players in the game for us. This is good for everyone in every way. If you just bought the game 4 days ago or whatever so what, you have months to play before it comes out, go have fun with this game instead of complaining.

He means they don’t pay anything for the core game. Veteran players STILL PAY $50 (shut up with you’re 49.99 stuff, no one cares that were paying 1 penny less than 50. The trick is to make it look like $40 range not $50, so it’s still $50 due to taxes), and I pre-purchased that game… I have money to throw, but most of my friends don’t and they don’t like the idea that veteran players don’t get any character slots if they purchase the expansion.

I don’t care about player input, this is for a dev to look at as they merge the thread and when they read merged posts.

The value is not worth it, and HoT is definitely not a full game. Using the model of what current PC games go for at release is not accurate.

Example: Buying Mass Effect 3 at $20, and then having to buy Citadel DLC and Omega DLC would add up to $30 ($15 each) for a total of $50. Those two are DLC. Their combined story and extra goodies for the game totals out to the same we are expecting from HoT.

Now, HoT for old players is $50. That is the price of a fully-fleshed out core game, not a “DLC” (in this case, the term is expansion) which is what HoT is.

Then don’t buy it……if it’s $25, $40, $50, $75 or whatever doesn’t matter.

If you want it your going to buy it simply put. If you don’t want to buy it then don’t. Anet has no sub fee so 50 bucks every 3 years comes to…..72 cents a month!!!! Cheapest mmo and expansion ever created. Your arguments invalid for a game that provides hundreds of hours of entertainment

I’d personally do neither lol. I’ll wait till HoT gets closer to release for my prepurchase. Fallout 4 I’m going to wait for a sale I think (if it’s as good as the others)

All I see are people complainig about not getting gems or chracter slits for buying the expansion. You already do not have to pay a subscription fee. I have never seen a community of players whine about not getting free stuff added to a game so much. Unless your handicapped in which case if you are I apologize but your simply lazy then.

Go mow 5 people’s yards for 10 bucks, if you work do a little over time even with minimum wage that’s 6 hours work tops. I’ve had money issues myself but 50 bucks is very easy to earn on the side

I said 100 hours because in this day an age most 60 games can be beat under 50 hours. If you can get 100 hours or more out of a game with no subscription fees you already have your monies worth.

If you type in /age and have more then 100 hours total play time you should not be allowed to complain. $50 is not a lot of money. I personally don’t think they should be brought back. Items like that are a way for players to either show off wealth, or that they have played for a long time. Considering it’s an mmo those types of items are very typical.

I’d recommend ranger with longbow or sword personally based on what your looking for, or maybe a guardian.

I myself play about an average of 7 hours a week and was able to both fully level and gear them without an issue.

Honestly I think they will Just show off guild halls, already announced things, and a release date.

At e3 I think they will be trying to appeal to new players there

So I’ve seen some complaints on the changes and read different things. I want to make sure I am understanding this correctly.

Zeal for the guardian grants power and condition damage right now. After release it will no longer grant either and instead my armor with power would instead be increased?

If this is the case we can finally start using traits as pure traits and not just for stats right? Right now my guardian runs a 2/6/0/6/0 build in pure zerker armor, so basically I can keep all my health I have from the vitality yet my power will increase? Everything about that seems beyond wonderful as I’d be running 0/6/0/6/6 with the DH.

Is this all correct?

That did not help it was videos. There was an actual sheet with all the new traits, I was unable to find this on the wiki which is what I meant when I said I have looked already but could not find it

A while ago I saw a list of the new trait system, for the life of me can’t find it. Can someone please send me link if they know where it is at?

New legendaries, similar to silverwastes for new zone, I did read something a while back about legendary rings.

I personally got bored watching the live stream after the 5th staff skill so unsure what is in the typical heal slot.

But considering the reveant has no weapon slot I could only imagine those using staff in ventari legend to be using a lot of healing power. Combined with the auto attack chain and the amount of orbs dropped (unless your in a massive zerg) it will basically be a healing skill on a couple second cooldown.

I am thinking though at e3 we may get a release date.

But it’s just like all the people asking why revenant doesn’t have its own personal story even though it’s always been based on race not class.

I could be mistaken but I was under the impression specizalations will lose certain utility skills? (Not all but cushion ones). I may be mistaken though so please don’t take my word for it.

So if this class can’t swap weapons what’s the use of staff? Seems like staff could be a good secondary weapon but really other then that the damage will be low and healing in this game really isn’t a thing.

Going from gw2, to elder scrolls, back to gw2……

1. The community size is a little bigger I think. Players are much much nicer.

2. The world in gw2 is much better, combat I find to be much more fluid in every way.

3. Teso end game was pvp, and grinding those awful veteran levels. I will be honest though each level was a huge achievement and rewarding if you could afford to craft the armor. Gw2 is very very casual. Except a nice community. Once you’re level 80 the gear you get pretty cheaply or easy is pretty much the best armor in the game. End game is just getting cosmetic only stuff.

4. To follow up point 3 you can still do a huge grind for legendary armor, or ascended armor. It’s barely better just mostly a thing to achieve. If you like gear treadmills have to get used to it not being in this game. If your a huge Teso or wow fan this game is very very different. This game in my opinion is designed for fun, not trying to be the best of the best.

Who else hopes the best weapon will be sword? I’ve been waiting for sword to be a great weapon. So sick of greatswords everywhere already. Warriors sword is pretty darn useless in pve in a majority of cases, guardian is ok but auto attack 3 can be so hard to land at times, and the 3 skill misses anything moving. Rangers leaping is extremely annoying. Thief auto attack is pretty weak. I think the best class with sword is mesmer which is funny as its a light class. I really really hope sword goes very well with the reveant and the specizalation isn’t great sword so we can finally see some heavy armor people with swords
