Ok hear me out. Just imagine if you use glint you can change the utilities. You can pick up to 1 utility from each other legend.
Or you can leave them to the default ones. That would really really help the whole customization thing revenant needs. You can only pick one though to balance it. So one shiro, one demon, one dwarf…..or just one shiro rest glint. Can do heal and elite to if wanted.
I did zerk build and loved all of it but the long cooldown on 5 skill
I saw a thread about doing them, I realized I have not completed it one time sense they changed them, I forgot they were even in the game as none of them are ever part of what I do.
Just curious did anyone else just quit doing these to after the change?
If you consider damage good then you must be main guardian staff.
If you actually get real actual numbers and compare them with other classes the auto attack is nearly the lowest of any melee weapon in the game. Necro daggers ate higher dps

Well its honestly like any other skill in the game. Every ability can be activated anywhere then has a cool down.
If I use hundred blades for example it should go on cool down
I don’t really agree with this, at least not for pve. The damage isn’t all that compared to other classes and when you add in the lackluster support there is little reason to take a revenant. They might get away with crappy support if they had amazing damage compared to the other classes. They don’t.
And rapid lacerations should be baseline or merged into some other trait because right now it competes with our main group support trait (underwhelming though it may be). Now maybe Glint will solve some of this maybe. But these are issues that should be resolved with the core spec. They shouldn’t need a bandaid from the elite spec.

Sword damage no matter how you look at it, how you trait, whatever it is much weaker then other classes. By a long shot to. Not just guardian staff, but necro! My necro with a dagger can out dps rev kinda easy

I agree bow 2 projectile speed could be faster, but I don’t agree with everyone wanting the attack rate faster. I love bow and arrow thematically and I hate how games always make them high fire rate like its a machine gun or something so I was pleasantly surprised to see our bow AA on the slower, but harder hitting side.
I would definitely like it to stay that way.

One thing I noticed is people think and compare to ranger longbow 2. Yes ours does root but for very small time and it pierces. Considering the damage output you can get only shooting one arrow beats having to shoot many arrows. I loved all the skills. 5 cooldown long though
Brutal blade the 2nd attack in chain is extremely underpowered. The damage is way to low where the 3rd attack does not compensate for it. Yes it’s underpowered compared to many classes considering our 2 skill is junk, 3 skill is bad unless on solo target
Heck both necromancer and thief auto attacks crush revenant by about 25%. The swords damage is not good.

I was extremely excited to try Shiro out because I had high high hopes of that being my main.
But guardian with a sword crushed it. Auto attack is better, skill 2 actually has a purpose, skill 3 better single target that blocks projectiles, free regen from focus, 3 free blocks that if they don’t block does great damage aoe.
I loved the longbow skill 2 and 4 a lot, 3 will be great for those new snipers, just aa needs to be a bit faster and sorry faster projectiles. 30 cd for elite with quickness, overall better utilities.
Glad I did beta so I can see how much guardian owns revenant. Revenant hammer was fun though
Yes ap should be hidden. And those people with high ap does not mean in any way shape or form your good at the game.
I have played sense beta and only have I think 5k ap or something like that. I only get ap if it’s just from normal play I will never farm ap to pretend I’m better. 5k or 500 ap has 0 effect on any players skill. Only proves they do things not every player wants to do.
I think adding this simple thing would actually allow the skill to be used. Shiro is an assassin, I see no reason why the this would not fit in perfectly. I would actually start using my 2 skill like crazy considering I do not use it all all, and the 3 skill I do not use unless on single target.

In my personal opinion with skill 3 not dodging, the 2 skill not having an added blind (which would really make the skill usable) and the heals being so small I was losing a lot of fights I would not lose as any other class even tested ele and mesmer which I never played past level 20 before and was doing much better.
If we are going to be this squishy in melee a damage boost would be needed, or some more survivability.

I think the Shiro heal would be better if it triggered per HIT, instead of per attack. If you’re using the sword auto, one of the heals only procs once you finish the entire chain. I’ve found it more useful to pop the heal, pop impossible odds and then spam hammer autos and skill 2 (energy permitting) to get those quick heals off.
With the Shiro heal the is a 1 second delay between each dagger that shoots out to siphon health

Ok firstly this to me is both a good thing and a bad thing.
When gw2 launched the cutscenes were just the people talking. Which overall I was fine with
I noticed in season 2 a big chunk was the characters speaking with bubbles over there head
In HoT as our characters now talk out of cutscenes to with bubbles over the head it means fewer cutscenes.
Normally I’d be perfectly ok with this as it is enjoyable. However as I make ults I always do the story to see how I performed with other classes. I liked the cutscenes as we could skip all of those. When you hear the same thing x amount of times and can’t skip it kind of annoying. Will there ever be something added to skip dialogs?
I personally ignored every word said and skipped cutscenes as I want surprised for release.
However I did notice yes our characters finally finally talk now. This will really make things intresting for sure!
Skill 3 needs an evade more then damage. Omnislash like skills are suppose to be beneficial against solo targets and weaker against multiple it gives them counter play. But a little damage boost would be welcome.
While I agree with the idea, It is currently better to just autoattack, and that should NOT be the case with a damage skill
Rigby. With the sword being our “power” weapon nothing does any damage but auto attack. And the dps alone from that is simply not enough
This would definitely give the rev at least an option to survive a little longer in dangerous situations. The rev seem to be very squishy at the moment and this could be a nice little mechanic for the rev.
Because we get owned still using sword 3. Everything still hits us making the skill at times cause more damage to us

I am trying to gather a post below with some of the major issues with revenant for when anet does view this so it’s all together. Please let me know what I am missing so I can add to the list everyone.
Skill 1 auto attack
*the animation is just kind of wonky looking. Looks rather strange.
*small damage buff added would help a lot. For being an assassin feels rather slow. Either a small buff in attack or speed.
Skill 2 Precision Strike
*damage is very low
*skill itself is not very useful at all
*2 skill is typically always used by every other class and weapon as soon as it’s off cooldown, as they are usuually useful. Might need a new skill 2
Skill 3 Unrelenting Assault
*needs to dodge
*damage is only useful on single target
*once animation is completed often facing away from enemy, making auto attack not auto after.
Skill 4 Duelist’s Preparation
*reports of it not blocking critical attacks?
Skill 5 Grasping Shadow
*damage very low
*bugs pulling the enemies back from terrain issues, or if they are by walls.
Heal Enchanted Daggers
*does not heal for enough
*each dagger takes to long to siphon the health. (Which is why heal may feel so small)

Yes that would help a lot. Or at least buff attack speed a little and keep trait. I feel kinda slow and clunky with sword. It is fun though minus the animation.

There heals are very weak, they need to legend swap to get 2 off which they might have trouble with getting used to.
Also Shiro heal with the projectiles have a timer so the heal has a hard time keeping up

Sword 2 sux, sword 3 needs evade frames (as do hammer 3, staff 5) – theres nothing to discuss about it, they really do need it (well maybe except staff but after all we still goes to mist form right?). Camera also should follow our toon during sword 3. Sword 4 “riposte” could give us more time to use it – 10 seconds.

Yes I noticed the dodge needed as well very badly for sword 3 and hammer 3. I got wrecked a couple times while in animation not where my character was because missing dodge

That may be too much, removing the siphon CD would make it perfect. Very useful for bursting foes and you can heal yourself easier if you get low.
Right there really should be no siphon cool down. When I need to heal I need to heal. Was hard to heal and get them all off
Personally speaking in a very big fan of the hammer, the damage, utility, it pierces, 2 skill very powerful in mobs with short cooldown. As a ranged weapon I can live with it
Firstly anet I love having a bow on my guardian. I was not a big fan of the scepter at all with the slow slow projectiles. The 2 skill every enemy just ran out of, torch skill always missing while thrown. I really feel guardian is complete with this weapon.
But I’m here to provide feedback. I feel the skill 2 with it rooting, and the time to use is kinda a pain. The damage it provides considering it can piece is also extremely high. My suggestion is to NERF the damage a little bit, and make it not root as long.
To also compensate for this to make up for a small damage loss I recommend a small damage boost to the auto attack.
I agree. While the sword main hand is fun, the hammer dps is much higher than the sword even with specing for the duel option, the hammer destroys the sword dps wise.
Oh yea it was fun. But to actually kill things I had to switch to a hammer =/
After playing around for a while I feel the hammer destroys the swords dps.
Hammer has skill 1, 2, 3, and 5 dealing great damage.
Sword 1 seems to do “ok” damage in my opinion. 3 is good for single target, 2 4 and 5 don’t really do any damage.
I think because of this sword aa should get some form of buff. Was taking me a kinda long time to kill things
Having a tag, will we be able to disable these from maps if we wish to? I think a lot of players will have it I don’t want to see 1000 on my map always.
The new auto loot, can I disable that if I don’t want to use it in low level areas?
A level 1 in queensdale wouldn’t help for beta testing.
Use Riposting Shadows (Shiro utility skill 1) as a ‘leap’ since it has no cooldown. Granted you have to do the fancy reverse keybinding trick but apart from that you can move around pretty quickly.
Staff 5 is also a dash, although obviously that requires you to use staff.
Right, it’s a 1200 dash to target. That’s massive.bind to e key and your all set for a dash.
It will be a mastry. Personally I hope we can disable these from the map as everyone is going to be using it

Well if I was in school I’d agree. A large portion of this game is actuality people over 20 as its the only real casual mmo someone can play working full time.
Don’t worry though, hot will be out by the end of the year so hopefully for your winter break you’ll have it at least. Oh gosh do I miss breaks……
