I don’t understand what your even trying to say
Fix shield 5 and I think it’s ready lol. I loved herald. Not a fan of revenant though I felt it needed herald.
But I still had lots of fun. Been wanting a class pretty similar to this sense launch. Moving on from guardian. If they ever fix guardian shield to be more usable though I might switch back. Give herald though an A without a doubt
UA is fine, pls theres no need to nerf a prof when people still dont know how to play against it
14k damage with one skill with evade and without a chance to kite it because it will port you wherever the enemy runs in a 1 on 1 fight is fine? srsly? xD
Yes. Because if it does hit 14k that’s 100% the other players fault for failing to know how to dodge or use any other form of defense that’s given to them. It’s a learn to play issue. The class and skills are new
UA I don’t think will get changed. The skill is just fine. Just a skill people need to get used to sense it’s new. Crystal Hibernation needs a buff, other then bug fixes the class feels ready in my opinion and shouldn’t need many changes at all
It will be rapid strike all over again. The skills fine, it’s new, people just need to learn to counter it.
New things scare people in mmos unless they are the ones using it. If a nerf was needed though your suggestion could actually really help. Wouldn’t mind in pve either as I want to do the most damage to my targeted enemy
Aa others stated 100b and rapid strike were extremely op to. It’s just a matter of learning. When to dodge, use retaliation, protect, or blocks. The animation is pretty easy to see it coming.
Or jump off a cliff, does rev follow? I dunno
But then what happens when the next wave of elite specs are released? We can’t take both Herald and the new one, then we miss (what feels like) a core part of the class. But I also agree with Gray, I think Jalis is a great legend too and makes the revenant feel more tanky.
My biggest concern as well. I do love glint, but last beta the class still wasn’t that great unless going condition. Glint makes the class just feel complete. Any future elite specizalation will hurt the class overall I think
I have attached 2 images, the first one is where i’m targeted, the 2nd one shows I am not landing where I am supposed to be landing causing me to miss my targets often. Anyone else having this issue?
We have high dps, high health if using valkyrie gear, high critical chance. We are mobile a bit more with the swiftness. I know and agree the conditions are a nightmare but we need a weakness. Have to keep Jalis in my builds for the heal skill.
I double tap for 20 vulnerability. That’s nothing to laugh at, especially before unrelenting assault.
How I start fights as well. I keep fury always active, double tap facet of strength and use elemental blast. It’s great
Right now no. By next beta I hope they are ready
I don’t mind that the skill roots you because it seems thematically fitting – IF, that is, it can be balanced around the self-root.
theme =/= gameplay.
Shield is an elite spec weapon. It needs to be useful before fitting.I certainly agree. I think it’s important that Shield 5 provide usefulness to the Revenant as an emergency button, but also that the opponent (in PvP/WvW) has access to counterplay.
If Shield 5 remains unusable while moving, I think that is a good justification to make it provide complete invulnerability (no break bar). In this case the counterplay is the opponent readying actions for when the channel ends (and the Revenant responding to this as well).
If Shield 5 is usable while moving, I think it needs to retain the break bar, otherwise it is probably too strong (short cooldown, decent self-heal, and complete invulnerability). I don’t like the break bar personally because it seems impossible to balance between the game modes (PvE, PvP, and WvW). So that’s why I prefer Shield 5 remain unusable while moving. But in any case, I do agree that it needs some changes.
I kinda like the root idea with the invulnerable. No break bar. I think the rooting truly symbolizes the protection they are doing with the healing.
I highly doubt they will remove breakbar though, so I think simply a large buff to the breakbar might do the trick. By large I mean no soft cc, and at least 2 or 3 hard cc’s to break it.
Just that darn shield 5. Other then that I’m really enjoying it. New creatures are a little tougher with conditions which kinda makes some boo boos. But it really is a blast. Sword updates and damage buff, hammer buffs from first beta, the Glint legend I’m loving all the utility skills. It’s a great overall class feel
Yes you get herald which is a massive pay to win.
Until a condition hits you……

Retaliation works to
I’m getting headaches. To much orange and green. Only colors really on the screen
I love my dragonhunter. The traits really don’t interfere with sword focus build much, and longbow is much better then my scepter. Sick of my torch 4 skill missing so much to from terrain issues. Give auto attack faster projectile and maybe 5% damage buff and I’m happy. Rest of skills I had no issues with
Spoiler below.
In season 2 Rylock chases his sword into the mists. In HoT he returns as a revenant after his journey there.
i think the 30/30 three full adrenal bars to activate berserk is fine.
you don’t need to activate berserk if you are soloing a weak mob.
Pretty much this. If the fights easy enough to not get 30 adredelin then you shouldn’t be wanting or needing berserk skills.
Plus the new elite ability already gives free 3 bars.
I hope Roy can give some input on this hopefully.
I did all valkyrie armor, everything else zerker. 72% ctit chance with 21k health made me very happy. If you drop the fury though there goes the ctit chance so have to always stay on top of that.
All the orange and green makes my head hurt
Nobody likes shield 5 it seems…
To be honest I love the concept. I’m actually even fine with the root as its a weapon skill healing me while I don’t take damage. But that breakbar is really really bad. Needs removed, or much much more to break it. I will then be very happy with herald overall
I’m surprised I managed to not have one energy issue yet with glint.
I keep up my 6, 7, and 8 skill. When I enter combat double tap 9, use the 8 ability, then use sword 3. I continue with auto attacks until 3, 8, and 9 are off cooldown and repeat. That’s with sword shield. I used shield skills as needed.
Just need to find a way to manage them how it fits into your playstyle.
I did some testing today. Sword 3 felt much better. I didn’t have walls and ledges mess with it many times
alright there we go:
maybe.. it’s the golem hit boxes
btw, something else i noticed (different topic) is that there seems to be a limit on how many upkeeps you can have active based on their cost. facet of nature + impossible odds would not work for me, same as all of the utility glinth upkeeps + the elite upkeep.
Yes for the limit it’s designed that way. We are not designed to have every upkeep at once.
I’m running the 6, 7, and 8 skill on constant. Start of battle double tap 9, and drop the 8 skill then so I do great damage and have energy gain going to
What is your overall impressions?
Shield 5 I find to just be a massive suicide button.
Other then that I really enjoyed the traits, they work very well with each other and the other trait lines. I love the perma swiftness and fury. I play open world pve so just double tap f2 for extra boons, burst of strength and elemental blast to start off my fights.
Fix shield 5 and I’ll really really love glint a lot. The heal was helpful as well, plus legend swap to dwarf as needed. If I could pick my utility skills I’d pretty much use this besides the elite which for pve isn’t that useful.
Oh also I noticed the sword stab is kinda hard to hit multiple targets for sure.
But Roy…..great job with glint overall! I’m having a blast.
Go do raids and fractals when they come out. That’s what is designed for you. Leave casual open world pve as is
It really needs the defiance barmechanic removed.
It should just be a flat block w/ heal combined. The Revenant lacks “oh kitten” buttons, and this would be a nice one, but as it is, it just makes you a sitting duck and WILL leave you even more vulnerable.
Lol I couldn’t agree more. Even half the heal and remove this defiance bar. It’s supposed to be an oh crap button but it’s a oh let’s die quicker button
It is a pretty awful skill. It just allows the opponent to kill you more easily.
Pretty much yea….I was looking forward to this to because revenant was a little squishy. This skill made it worse
The skill is very pointless. One simple immobilize and your out. Should require 3 or 4 immobilize, knock downs, knock backs or other form of cc to break it. Not one. This makes it rather useless in every game mode. Tried it in SW multiple times every single time I ended up with 25 stacks of vulnerability. If it’s going to root us we need it to actually be functional.
I simply use it because I find 10% more damage better then 150 ferocity
You must make a new beta character
Well I use assassins presence
Unrelenting assault really had issues with walls and ledges for sure. I’d hope this would be fixed for beta this weekend
Really just depends on playstyle in my opinion like most other traits in the game
Either only while in combat or maybe it only shows up right after you use skill then fades. Is my vote.
Either of those work well
I thought shield 5 would be best in pve? Haven’t got to play yet.
Doesn’t the break bar degenerate from each cc effect on you? Just one simple stun breaks it? I figured it would be able to take like 4 things to break it. In SW it would be useless then if one teragriff hits you or one stun which come out often
Wait till the game says there is an update and restart
2 would be helpful lol

I’m excited for herald, new story, new maps. Not so much raids personally
Think of the Legends as Utility Categories like with the others Professions.
Shiro is Traps, Jalis is Survival, Ventari is Shouts. if you only spent a few points into Shiro, you only get 1 or 2 Skills in the Legend. If you want the whole legend, you have to spent the points for every skill like with the other Professions.
Basically this explains it pretty well.
So basically all or nothing because you can’t have cross legend skills and the more you put in the more expensive skills are meaning you will unlock less skills than another class.
You will unlock everything besides elite spec by level 80, just like any other profession. The order you choose to unlock them is up to you. You can mix two legends early on to be able to equip two legends and use a few skills of each on each. Such as unlocking the heal and first utility skill on two legends, then switching back and forth between those two legends.
Thanks for clarification. Haven’t leveled new char in the new system at all
A bit of a side question but @level 80 do Tomes of Knowledge give xp towards mastery?
Sorry I do not have the quote but they did conform a while ago in a post that they would not.
The number your looking for is 28
I know a lot of guardians want to use a shield as it fits the class so nice and looks awesome. But shield in the current state is just really useless for most cases.
The simple solution? Just allow us to apply a shield skin onto our focus. Focus is already a better shield then shield. Or just switch the skills for the 2 off hands.
I got all the items I needed for ascended armor and weapons ready for Rev so I can craft weaponsmith and armorsmith to 400 and make it all. Still trying to get to about 1500 gold total. Doubt I’ll make it past 1200 by release but still trying

As the saying goes; “never play on patch day”.
Anyone that takes a day off for the 23rd will likely be kicking themselves by the day’s end. It is far better to take a day off a few days down the line, say for the 25th or so after all of the major bugs have been fixed.
The initial launch for GW2 was, for me, seamless and painless. Servers went live hours before they said they would (and on the three day headstart at that) and I had no noticeable lag, disconnects or issues. If Anet does what they did the first time around, there should be no issues.
Lol servers opened like 10 min early. But I got in perfect, as did my friends. Played a few hours flawless. Next day the game didn’t work at all and the TP took a month to work. Tons of events and skill points were bugged for a while had to change servers to do certain things.
First few weeks I’ll just be doing personal story, living story 2, SW on my herald. And the new living season.
Facts:
Anet themselves at pax confirmed new karma merchants you will have access through with a mastery and that they will be moving around.
As you stated it’s a hassle. That way if you keep dying you can’t return straight to a fight with everything fine. You need to make a stop. That’s the purpose I think
