About the energy cost..
Not sure but Rev gets 5 energy per second?
So if the skill cost 20 energy and blocks for 3 sec it only cost 5 energy in the end for this skill am i right? so it cost pretty much no energy.
Not saying this skill is better or something because i hate the rooted part.. but saying this skill cost allot of energy is not true if i am right ofc.
This is true yes. But most the time people will be in glint with upkeep skills going.
To op: I wouldn’t say the shields block is better. It blocks yes, and heals yes. But also can’t move which is why they are about equal. Plus imagine having a cd and adredelin cost on it if it were on warrior. The rooting will kinda be a pain for pvp luckily I do pve in which case it will be nice
How do you do this with a guardian besides 100% pure luck after 20 attempts and already 1 broken mouse…….

I felt like a warrior/guardian/thief hybrid when I play.
High damage auto attacks if traited and with fury.
Boons to allies
UA dodging around
Shield to block and heal
Protection options
Perma swiftness making us fast
But we get to use a sword and shield on a heavy class…….

Longer cd with extra 2 seconds so 12 total now.
I’d prefer a 10% damage reduction much more.
Why? With sword I never use 2, with shield 4 and 5 are both situational and don’t always need used off cooldown. UA was really our only skill with the weapon skills worth using off cd. We are just auto attackers really
If the skill allowed us to move I highly doubt we’d get the healing effect. Me personally I’d take the heal over moving any day as it’s helpful for glint if the heal skill wouldn’t get a good effect depending on the situation we are in. I think the root is just fine without the endurance bar.

Sounds cool. I use Warden helm and Arborist shoulders on my guardian. Sylvari have some great cultural pieces.
Sadly anything else though gets really big and bulky lol

Looks perfect to me personally. Minus the traps I think the class is perfect. I planned on using my guardian utility skills anyways.
Shield
We were trying out defiance bars on player skills in a few places, but it didn’t really work out. Defiance bar is balanced around being on creatures which left some pieces of it feeling awkward for players. It also had essentially a duplicate functionality to stability. In the end we felt like it didn’t play well on player skills so we removed all player defiance bars.
Envoy of Exuberance: Decreased the energy cost from 15 to 10. Fixed a bug so that this skill will properly heal at the target location instead of around you.
Crystal Hibernation: Removed the defiance bar. This skill will now block attacks for the duration while regenerating health. Lowered recharge from 30 seconds to 20 seconds.
I couldn’t be more happy. The CD reduction was kinda needed. I liked the idea of the break bar for pvp standpoint but just didn’t work that great. Plus the energy cost on shield 4 was a bit high to I thought

All world bosses are pretty easy as the mechanics have been figured out over the years. Some like teq however do still some organizing and can still fail.
At level 80 once you go to the silverwastes there is a breach stage of Champions, and then 3 other separate champions after that still fail as well. HoT will be more of a challenge with raids to if you prepurchased that.
Wish we could do this with the juggernaut wielded effect. Not foodsteps but still…..

Just last weekend finished everything for my ascended valkyrie armor, and zerker ascended weapons.
Sad thing is I don’t have a 500 craft yet so banks full of dragonite ore and bloodstone dust and emperal shards and all the other insiginas and parts til I level revenant to 400 for each then use tomes to level the rest

How the heck do I buy one of these? Any time I visit the merchant in SW with 3 stacks of perseverance it is never an option to buy this?

I have 3 80s. Never touch anything but my guardian. With HoT release will play on a revenant and most likely never anything else
Not really sure what you and others were expecting. It was sales with a discount and returned items. 100% what was advertised and brought.
Head – assassins mask
Shoulders – scarf from gemstone
Chest – stalwart
Legs – looks like seekers
Feet – assassins boots
Hands – looks like it could be several. Rogue, or seekers my best guess

I honestly think Glint is too strong. Having no energy consumption even on actives is just not right imo. There needs to be some. Energy is never an issue with glint, and I dont think that sits well with the rest of how the class works. You should be punished if you dont manage your energy well with Revenant and with Glint this never happens. The heal is also too strong, it needs either a better tell or a cast time.
I also seem to be the only who dislikes the Herald traits. No matter what build I make if I take herald I always end up using the same traits. Something’s really off here. Shield also isn’t great, at all.TL;DR: Glint is TOO strong. Herald and shield, not so much.
I understand where you may be coming from with the energy. 2 energy for example on 20 stacks of vulnerability, or 1 for the elemental blast. In pvp however each one is pretty avoidable and works nice in pve as glint has no real aoe damage attacks. That is why they have the cooldowns, and also the sacrifice of losing the passive effects.
For an example.
Other classes have have signets that grant 180 power. Which equals 6 stacks worth of might. So glint for an example having facet of strength going equals what other classes have going without sacrificing anything at all. So why should glints active take 2 hits on our energy while other classes don’t when they use the sigs?
Shield 4 can actually be amazing for a small heal if needed, or protection on team before a big hit happens
Shield 5. Great concept behind I think, but the breakbar was bugged for sure with soft cc’s I think. Once shield 5 gets fixed it will be useable I think.
I didn’t really see any major topics on this which is generally a good thing. But thought I’d make a topic to see all your thoughts on glint as a whole.
Other then shield 5 breakbar being too weak I really don’t think tweaking needs done.
Traits > I thought these all tied in pretty darn good with revenant. I had options for each each tier I could actually use.
Utility skills > I found them to be balanced nicely between upkeep and usefulness. Being able to just double tap one for active was nice for facet of strength. Cooldowns. Seemed fair as well for them.
Heal > nice when used at the right time in pve, could really jump into action. In pvp it was hit or miss, fighting a player who knew what they were doing could cause the heal to be a waste, but could be effective.
Elite > will be great for raids and dungeons with constant protection, however can’t use other skills with it. The active was nice in SW to push back mobs at times. Hope it will be nice in HoT maps.
I think Roy did a great job with glint and this elite specizalation. Finally a heavy armor class that can use a shield other then just for situational times in pvp. But Roy please fix that breakbar.
I think it is fine as is. Revenant was designed to not spam skills, but manage skills. With a 20 second cooldown that would prevent the condition removal on legend swap being used as much which is needed, upkeep skills from glint gone to long if needed, and create some issues with healing at times.
You need to keep in mind conditions crush us at the moment. The class is overall very well balanced at the moment. Yes with glint we are very strong, but at a cost of upkeeps on energy. Like any class if it is played well it will shine.

So I was playing the HoT beta having fun gliding off every ledge. I then went back to the core zone, jumped off a high ledge, went to use my glider then splat I was dead.
Hard getting into a habit of being able to use glider in just certain areas
There is no profession stories in this game for any class. The story just depends on race.
I actually liked it a lot. Am all for harder content everywhere.
Well that’s my problem. Vets aren’t hard at all. They just take a lot longer to kill and make it take longer to reach the destination you are trying to get to.
Did anyone else notice this? I have no issues running into a veteran here and there but I swear in it felt like there was as many veterans running around as regular enemies. They should be a bit more spreadout in my opinion.

I thought it was annoying in core game, season 2 was more frustrating, now the real time. It’s going to be very spying if your like me and want to do story more then once…..makes me not want to honestly
Turning other player effects off would solve the issue. It’s been an issue sense release
I’m sick of people trying to nerf the class already because they don’t know how to fight it.
Any half smart player during the time will prepare a burst and not attack once it’s used. Guess what, the whole heal skill is now wasted.
It’s 100% a L2P issue. If YOU healed the rev it means you messed up, not nerf the other class.

I enjoyed it a lot overall. With all valkyrie armor everything else zerker had a nice hit point pool and damage from fury. Didn’t have any energy issues but two times maybe. Hammer is a pretty fun ranged weapon overall to. Will kinda miss my guardian though. But herald will last me til the next elites are ready
No one knows. Reddit posts are actually 100% guess. Until anet releases the information it will be a mystery. I can say 100 just because it’s a number I find to actually be fair.
I had a few issues myself. Mostly with the first stab attack

It is avoidable and counterable many ways.
It’s 100% a L2P issue. It’s s new class with new skills. Have to learn them and get used to them.
Move the inventory window so that the tomes are right where you choose to accept. They have these in place to prevent people from making mistakes. Remove those preventative measures and you’ll now see threads of people claiming they accidentally used more than they wanted.

Will this only be allowed in HoT maps? I kinda planned on farming SW to get gliders and jumping mushrooms and other things before entering the new maps so I could be more prepared.
It’s just the fact they state this game is play as you want……but if you want to play a certain way you can’t get this or that. Then purple complain if your not hardcore like me you don’t deserve it.
Legendary armor for example. I see no reason why people who master raids can’t get a full set in a month. Sure that’s ok. But for players such as myself who really do not enjoy raids should still have a grind opting even if it takes 5 months outside of raids that’s usually just full of these hardcore players that aren’t fun to play with often times for any casual player
