I was in the same boat. I used tomes to get to 50, did 3 cheapest crafts to 400, then did eotm for the rest so got from 30 to 80 in a day.
You might be in the norns way while he’s trying to jump around and have fun. He’s really not doing anything wrong sorry
I am sorry to hear, however no forum is associated with this as it has nothing to do with gw2 and is just collecting funds
They did state when it’s ready to show. I’m sure they are doing everything they can without trying to rush it.
By this point in time I’m sure HoT is nearly completed. But they are working on bugs and polishing the game. A game to this scale does take time. Just need to be patient is all. People seem to forget this game has no monthly fee just a gem shop with mostly useless items and skins, they do not have the large amount of staff wow or ff14 have
Living season, farm silverwastes for gold and new skins, get a legendary. Pvp if you are into that, wvw is still ok.
As the above poster stated. Depends on the content really. If you like necromancer or ranger though please play them. If you plan on doing dungeons though maybe not. Warrior is pretty much accepted anywhere, but can be very boring to play. Really though play what makes you the most happy. Any class truly can do everything in this game fine
Depends what kind of content your into in an mmo (not sure if this is your first)
There is open world pve where you explore the world, do events with others, and kill world bosses.
Dungeons. Just dungeons
Pvp
And world vs world.
Each has its good great and not so great classes. Ranger for example is very easy to pick up and learn. Many people say pets aren’t good I’ve honestly very rarely had an issue, they are deadly close up and at a distance. Great in wvw, not wanted in dungeons really. Warriors are your easiest class to learn, heavy armor, high health, very simple to dish out tons of damage and always wanted in groups as is guardian. Guardian with the low health though can be a little trickier to learn at first though.
Mesmers do great in pvp. They really don’t shine though til max level when you gear up and have your traits.
Mesmer, elementalist, and engineer in my opinion are by far the hardest class to learn, but can be rewarding once mastered which can be difficult.
Necromancer is also great but they are very selfish of a class and never wanted in dungeons. Still good though for solo play and wvw for condition spamming. Once you get into the game feel free to add me if you have any specific questions about anything I’m more then happy to assist
Ps. Unlike a lot of mmo games out there this game is casual. Which makes an overall great community. People are usually always willing to help you out with things.
If your still a level 50 ranger for the time you’ve had the game no I wouldn’t recommend coming back or buying the expansion. Game just isn’t for you.
Personally I love the game though as is
Live stream of the gameplay got me even more excited!
So don’t play it problem solved for you and the people that want to play dh. I think the class looks great, I’ll play it. You don’t like it? Don’t play it. Everyone is happy
80 hours and level 60? Most would consider that slow as I got my guardian to 80 in under a week with tomes crafting and wvw.
Please keep in mind this is gw2 not Tera or wow. At 80 not a single thing in the game truly changes, you would still do the exact same thing for map completion. Then farm end game zones or do world bosses
I see where you are coming from but I do 210% disagree.
What has ruined this game from start is any level 80 in zerker armor can beat everything with ease. By making the content 2 or 3 times harder I think this will change the game from easy, to builds. We will start wanting people in knights gear or clerics gear and doing more then just mashing 1 through 5 on keyboard.
I hope this new hard content actually means if you run in with full zerker gear you are going to die and be useless to team.
We have the mystic forge and the cooking skill already……unless I really missed something we have what you suggested already.
If you want just random items that’s loot from killing npc’s?
I took a 2 year break, when I came back all I missed was lions arch destruction, and them adding fractals which I have no intrest in. However sense I came back I leveled a thief to 60 got bored, made a guardian to 80, got bored deleted it, made a ranger to 80,got bored, made a thief to level 40 got bored deleted it, then made another guardian after finding out about dragonhunter.
Going to also do the living story season 2, farm silverwastes for some skins, then most likely take a break til HoT comes out. Unless I see a specizalation I really want then I’ll level that class.
I’m more excited for the trait to specialization revamp. But bow will be nice in wvw/pvp.
Lol bow will tear people apart in wvw. Not super sure in pvp yet
I think it will be a video I read
I can’t be alone here on this am i? I am mostly just seeing complaints on the class. We might not look as cool as reaper but who cares. What are the most excited about?
I’m going to love world bosses and events finally with my longbow with some pretty nice damage. Think I’ll keep one trap with me if I like it, going to love that small knock back for sure even on auto attack. Just wish it was a 5 second cooldown though. I want to see some support for toys class we got the weapon we really needed!
I love everything about the specialization!
Except glacial heart change. Lost burst and slowHunter Hype!!!
Woohoo share the excitement. The ONLY thing I truly don’t like anymore is the 3rd virtue change. I used to always use mine during champions for certain groups to avoid damage. Just a little bummed about that change.
Your acting very spoiled. They truly don’t have to show us or tell us anything at all.
Me personally I really want to see wvw changes and care about lions arch being rebuilt and seeing the changes. Just because you don’t like something doesn’t mean others don’t.
Many peoples like the bow (less the traps) and there is a very little part of the players that seem to really dislike the profession entirely.
But everyone hate the Dragon Thing.
Truthfully I kinda like the name itself, but when I think dragonhunter I just don’t think of holy or light or wings of resolve

In the future anet did state we would have more specizalations to grow into. What would happen with weapons skills? Right now the warrior has access to the most weapons except pistol, shortbow, dagger, and staff.
Eventually are we going to get complete reworks on weapons? I really hope this happens. That way every weapon down the road could be viable as these new traits work directly for the new specizalations. Will we see guardians using maces? This could even be a great step forward for fixing terrible skills like guardians shields which are useless and could really change the game up.
Not sure how long future specizalations take, they should do this maybe every 6 months to a year. Will really keep the game fresh and moving and create so many builds in the game. Plus simply changing some skills and adding new traits really would be pretty simple.
Thoughts?
Well end game in gw2 really is a fashion show that’s for sure. They like adding coustomes which I really dislike as I like to mix and match as well. I do hope HoT can fix that maybe.
It is very possible silverwastes will be very similar to the HoT expansion. But by giving us new specizalations and mechanics and things to level will help them build much more. A lot of tyria has yet to be explored still in gw2.
Silly question in my opinion it’s kind of obvious. We will have the next specizalation dragondefeater.
I’m still guessing off hand dagger, utilities though are a puzzle. Traps do NOT fit guardian at all. So maybe warrior really will end up with a pet. Then again anet knows that will blow up forums with qq so I dunno. With the dagger in mind though if it is dagger maybe some thief type skills? But then again warrior and stealth do not mix one bit. Maybe a kit
I see a reaper coming at me with his greatsword, I drop my 2 skill and auto attacks, he gets close and I push him back with my auto attack and cripple him just enough time to get my 2 skill in again. He cone in for the kill I drop my 5 skill on him, my 4 skill, and another 2 while dodging back. He’s getting close my auto attack knocks him back again, I use my 3 skill and get the blind. Drop another 2 skill on him.
People aren’t giving dh any credit, going to be very powerful I think.
Reaper has 66 percent reduction in cripple time so good luck with that. Also he won’t be coming to you he’s going to pull you to him. Don’t worry about Aegis because he has 4 seconds of unblock able attacks after his shout. You better dodge back, but he has a leap now also.
You’re predictable combo is super flawed. Did you not even realize how much stability a Reaper has?
Works for me I’ll pull out my greatsword or sword focus for blinds and blocks if I get in the melee range. Or throw a trap down. I’m very happy with the dh skills and traits
People forget it is a guardian still but with a bow.

What cripple? You do not cripple if hes alone And be prepared for nerfs on longbow because it is viable, god forbid guardians have viable range weapons – nerfhammer inc.
If you do a knock back a trait allows all knock backs to cripple.

I personally disagree. I do not own it nor will I ever own it personally but this is an mmorpg. Not everyone will have everything. People who play the game a lot and have nothing else in the game to do makes it a great goal. There will always be in every single mmorpg these armors or weapons that a small percentage of the players will have. If you want it you have to earn it, yes you’ll need to farm a lot of events for gold or play the trading post or get lucky with drops. But that’s the game.
Great place? Spirit Weapons! Signets!
Tomes. Meditations in PVE! Sword#AA3! Hammer#5! Torch! Shield!Guardian could also be more offensive. More fire, more fury. That might be fixed via the new traits. And elite shout.
Don’t get me wrong. The LB seems to be good and an enhancement of our kitten nal. Especially the projectile speed is the real bonus.
There is no perfect class in this game other wise everyone would play just one class. I really feel the dh with bow and utility skills and new virtues is going to make this a very great class overall
So we get both? regular dark shroud and reaper shroud, depending on staff or greatsword?
no If you specialize reaper you lose deathshroud until you switch out specialization.
You can use deathshroud still, but can’t use any of the new traits. Reaper shroud is a trait. If you use specizalations though your going to want to trait in it though so in a way yes reaper shroud would be needed otherwise better off just playing necromancer
Chronomancers are selfish? They basically allow mesmers to specialize into support. Dragonhunters just make guardians more selfish and more like jack-of-all-trades. The amount of support in DH is minimal, which is what I have a problem with. DH was advertized as a ranged damage/backline support spec; in no way, shape, or form is this a backline support spec, or even offer much support at all (probably takes away more support than it gives).
I don’t play a guardian to be a ranger-wannabe with a lot of control. I play a guardian to support, and I was hoping that the elite spec would allow me to support more from the backlines with less of an emphasis on self-defense and more of an emphasis on selfless glassy support. Instead I got this and ANet threatening to remove Tome of Courage.
I honestly hope this spec gets redesigned by a different designer, but I don’t have much faith in ANet at the moment.Guardian was already in a great place.
This line is the bane of my existence.
+1
I think he meant necros are selfish. And Guardians will be fine and so will DH as long as they tweak the cooldown on the reworked virtues (1min cd on a 600 range leap is ridiculous even if they have to nerf the healing or tack a significant cd reduction to the damage trait)
Yes it was necromancer I meant. The cooldown for the barrage needs fixed for sure. With the virtues I could me mistaken but in the video I thought they said the passive effect would still continue while on cooldown. This could be a big game changer to incourage us to always use virtues now so the cooldown may not seem that bad
Ok so far we saw the mesmer and necromancer specizalations. I keep seeing the same thing “they got more then us, we just got traps”.
Yes mesmer got an amazing rework on the traits and some nice skills. Yes necromancer new shroud looks extremely amazing. But they are sadly still a selfish class.
But we got a longbow! We finally have a nice long range weapon. Guardian was already in a great place. I would still pick a guardian over a reaper. People seem to forget that you can play your guardian similar to how you did before but with the much needed longbow. I think we will become pve gods, and in pvp or wvw trap condition builds will be insane. Our new virtues are pretty solid and seem to still do damage and support.
Me personally I think we got EXACTLY what we needed. Do other classes get more? Sure they did now they are on par with the Guardian. But we got dragonhunter!
Am I the only one super psyched to play this class?
Anet you have to stop giving us these previews of the specizalations! Each time you show one I want to play it more and more and knowing we don’t even have a release date yet it’s killing me. I want to start farming events so bad with a dragonhunter, get into my necromancer again, play the new wvw map and enjoy a new map! You keep showing off these amazing things but won’t give us a hint of when we can play! Each time you spew a new class I get to excited
Release date time frame please?
http://www.tentonhammer.com/editorial/guild-wars-2-ranger-and-dragonhunter-comparison
Not sure if that was posted yet. But truthfully ranger longbow skills in my opinion will still be greatly used over the dh. Even though dh may have more power people forget your pet does damage and tanks for you in pve. Pvp dh 2 skill will be dodged very easy for our main skill. And traps…..well yea. I feel guardian will still be guardian but with a nicer long range option that’s about it.
Wish I didn’t delete my necromancer now lol.
Sadly dragonhunter didn’t look to promising for me while reaper looks like it will be a blast
I’m thinking and truly hope in HoT full zerker will be a thing of the past, I really want to see more builds being brought into the game and support being a huge thing of the game. With this hopeful thought in mind we might be getting some cool traits to help with this. Let me hear some traits you really want to see on the dragonhunter.
I’d like to see…..
Heal allies for x% of damage hit from an arrow at impact location(5 allies)
This is an example of the kind of trait I want to see. If we’re back line supporters I really want to support my team in dungeons and in world bosses and events. I hope some trait lines can help with this. What do you all think?
As they do need to make money no. It is possible maybe a year or so after release but that’s still a huge maybe
It will be essentially the same as having 3 trait lines maxed (6/6/0/6/0) while being locked into only 3 lines (no 2/2/2/4/2)
That’s what I thought but wasn’t 100% sure on it. Thanks for clarifying
I’m not sure if there was a topic on this or not I couldn’t find it, but for specializations how will the traits work?
For example I know right now we can do something like a 6/6/0/0/2 build. How would this work on specializations? Will it be only similar to like 6/6/0/0/0 or do we have 3 lines to master like 6/6/0/6/0 but we can’t do anything like 2/2/2/4/2?
I’d pick dungeons if there was a random join queue. I hate having to play meta to really be wanted in a dungeon. So open world lag fests it is for me at the moment
Even if it is pay to win so what? The game doesn’t even have a release date yet.
Unless you are handicapped in which case I do apologize they’re is no reason a single person can’t buy the game unless they are lazy. I’ll work 2 hours over time and I’m fine, before I had a job if I wanted a video game I’d cut lawns. Anyone can make 40 to 60 bucks between now and release unless they are truly lazy.
When mmos add expansions yes we will have more options and styles to play then others. Sorry to say but it’s your choice to be left out and feel there is an unfair advantage on you. Personally though I think specizalations will break the game at all in pvp. They will still have there pros and cons like every class now and can always be countered
Depends on your armor, and your dye colors
Works for me
Just so tired of the full zerker dps everything down thing toys game turned into. I play tank in other mmos I don’t care about my numbers. Rather help the other players in events and heal them and buff them while I stay front lines
In silverwastes going 0/6/0/6/2.
Full clerics armor
Superior rune of the doylax
Zerker mace and focus
Zerker trinkets
I think I would be pretty much invincible, while still doing some damage, healing allies in the area, and using other skills to of course buff allies. Would this actually be viable?
I returned from a 2 year break a month or so back.
All they added was fractals, dry top, and silverwastes. Other then that not much. But I’m trying to set goals before HoT comes out. So really just doing the living story which luckily I logged in just to get those even though I wasn’t playing. Well missed all of season 1 though lol.
That was my favorite, they also had one with a timer where team with most kills won.
I did enjoy it a lot and wish they would bring some form back.
But…..the fights would go way to fast I think, and also in gw1 there was also a huge amount of pvp builds. I sadly don’t see it working well in gw2 even though it was a blast in gw
yea we need other animations, got dam guardian’s scepter animation after a while is really repetitive
Or redesigned. That animation is the worst ha. Looks like they are trying to throw a scepter glued to there hand
So instead of 3 shoots that do 1000 / 1000 / 1000 damage you want something
like 500 / 500 / 2000 damage, just to feel bad when you have to dodge before
the third hit ?
Yes exactly!!!!!
But no in all seriousness yes, but the 3rd attack can also add either a boon, or status effect like with melee. Instead of just ranger spamming skills as soon as they are off cool down can actually want to finish auto attack chains.
