What’s bugged though?
That’be nice but this godforsaken place is a wrong subforum for such general suggestions.
Though this is something a lot of the community could relate to. If we had masses rambling on how much sense this makes maybe we’d get changes in like 2015. Ha.
WvW must be loving this. great start to the new season
It already is. It is a thing.
Believe me, they’re just abusing the fact there’s no good mmo out there.
Yet.
Exactly how I feel. Been having trouble playing any mmorpg at all after Guild Wars 2, I loved everything about this game from the first run. The only one that didn’t fall flat instantly for me was Blade and Soul though it also suffers from the endgame “nocontent” to an extent. At least in my opinion. And I’d still recommend it to anyone with an opportunity, the combat is cool, some of the dungeons are great, the gear threadmill is bearable and game pretty open to solo clears (lots of instances are solo including one of the endgame dungeons, others are bearable when overlevelling/better geared).
But how Guild Wars 2 are being treated is just sad. I wouldn’t leave my project in such a disastrous development disorganisation unless I was planning to take the money and run.
Eh, I kinda seen all of this coming ever since the change was announced. Though I guess the public reaction has been amplified by introduced dungeon bugs but the ANet side reaction is completely in the boundaries of my predictions.
Just gonna wait and see how it turns out since if current situation is the end result it’s just rude.
Plus I’m not playing a lot lately anyway.
Gotta keep in mind that I need my status changed to Eu in [Noob].
Been kicked out of my habitual TA solo today. The one I was just giving out for free like usual. I mean, I don’t even mind, I have more TA tokens than I need, I just don’t understand.
I think I had no turrets spawning at the up tree as well. Kept waiting for the boom but it never happened.
Maybe the bear was snuggled to death, or died of old age in a comfy cot, surrounded by his bear-wife and bear-kids. Just because the bear has died doesn’t mean he endured a moment of cruelty in his life.
I think I woke someone up.
>Not searching lfg for worst groups and longbowing your way through dungeon.
What do you even know about having fun with ranger?
More complex AI won’t stop people on bad connection from clearing bosses consistently too.
Position yourself right without giving him an opportunity to kitten around between attacks and you’ll dodge the kick on any level of delay. It is patterned though pattern varies from time to time. And some AI bugs happen rarely.
Playing with high latency is a matter of prediction. If you know what your opponent can use then you can prepare. Of course low delay offers more but saying that playing with anything higher than 300 is impossible to effective with, especially at GW2 dungeons is wrong.
Shooters are out of question though :D
30-60 milliseconds are a huge difference for reaction
That’s cute, my average latency from Argentina is 500-800… with 1.5K ms spikes but it’s still easy since the whole game can be learned like playing Simon.
Dungeons need much more improvisation
Frankly with a latency of 200+ you can’t really be effective in many dungeons.
Can you avoid the lupi kick for example?
Don’t think so.
Many have done Lupicus with higher ping/spikes, me included. After the long research put into him and Arah overall he’s a lot less of a skill indicator.
Applying knowledge still requires skill though. Yes, high latency might render you unable to react to some swift plays but in general experience can carry you through, be it fighting AI or people.

Still need to be learned though, which proves hard enough for a major part of the community.
Reactinary bosses are another thing. But making something use abilities on complete random outside of patterns and cooldowns wouldn’t be a much better design in my opinion. A boss trying to counterplay the player himself could be an interesting thing but is too much of an abstract idea for me to voice any opinion.
Heh.
No, there is no trick to walling it before the first spawn.
Its first move is always random and whether you get to push it during the aftercast time or not is up to you.
Aight so Fyonna just did nothing but spam wire and knockback on me with seemingly no cooldown, didn’t transform past 50% and randomly reset at like 10% when I was kiting her around the corner yet another time.
Well, I guess I’m yet to see the 84 elementalist.
If you skip the nightmare pup spawn at some point it will start appearing on you like the risen spawn in Arah on the way to Lupicus. Which is kinda weird.
Malrona’s aoe could be changed to an outright pbaoe with a different animation. There are plenty in the game, could just slap it on and be k.
It sucks that reflect part got taken away but if I had to choose between having reflects and the amplification mechanic, I’d take amplification simply because it’s way more unique.
She’s a mini boss anyway, more like a boss section with spiders on the way to her. Being low on different mechanics is okay here imo.
People bought TA spots when I listed my solo as a selling run for the fun of it.
People will buy anything if you put a price.
Man I sure hope they don’t back down on the requirement.
Who am I kidding though.
This is how I dealt with the golems for can’t even remember how long. Old habbits…

Expected Temporal Curtain, was disappointed.
That’s about right.
I’ve read the topic as “Forum (Infraction) farming”. Eh.
There’s no good way of getting those items other than killing many lootable mobs. Back when fractals were released and I progressed too fast to get enough AR to not die at Maw at 20s (or something like that) I rolled urban battlegrounds and soloed it till I got the material to infuse my ring.
So if you’re in dire need of one you could do the same. If not, then better to just forget about it.
I have dreamed of a weird crossover between Arah and living story events with Mordremoth corrupting creatures already lingering with Zhaitan’s influence but all I got to remember that Lupicus had no grub phase and more green beamy attacks and at 50% another GL broke a wall of arena and you had to fight two.
I didn’t even play GW2 for past 2 days.
Also always subvert Alpha.
Still onto magecrusher. Dodge – dodge- whirlwind – eat one – dodge (bless stamina signet) – swap block – dodge – eviscerate dodge – eat one and die
I think it was like this. Then it was 8 or 9 for me. Look at me mom, I’m as cool as Purple!
Oh also don’t get me started with 3×4 locusts Lupicus openers.
Meanwhile, I have a streak of 13 (and going) runs without any daily drops at the end , thus beating my old streak of 12.
Blessed be RNG, blessed be fractals.
You haven’t suffered until you’ve firsthand experienced my not-getting-swamp streak of mother f***ing 74 times back to back when rolling for a level 40 run.
Also can’t forget the time I had wraithlord autoattack me 13 times in phase 3 before doing his breath blast, or the time I was triple kicked by Lupicus.
-cries irl and buys magic find boosters from gem store- SAVE ME ANET
But did you have Magecrusher autoattacking you 6 times in a row?
Happened to me more than once. Was before I learned statue is within his agro range so I gave up on path 3 for some time.
Certain someone is making me want to bash my head against a wall until either one of them breaks.
Don’t stop on account of that … PLEASE ;P
Kinda off-topic, but pick one:
- Democrat.
- Republican.
I won’t go any further or deeper into this. I’d just like to know it for reasons.
You’re thinking in a great direction but a bit off.
Just one word: libertarians (not to mix with liberals).
I heard against a wall is also harder, but I find it easier somehow.
Maybe if you do some smart flanking and outrun the kicks/swipes it’s easier in the open till phase 3.
Eh. I dunno.
The journey is the reward.
I’m totally up for an all-Predator kill.
Even though TA is easy, I really like.
Same for me. I solo both Nightmare paths almost every day. It calms me for some reason.
*Gets damaged by kick mid dodge roll 11 times
Alright, Rostelecom, I got it, no Arah today.
Took me like 4 tries. But that was when he was already tried by the community so I knew what to do and expect.
And I still die once in a while.
And I started using stamina signet ever since my network started lagging and only got worse over time.
I went fishing for pearls au fond du temple saint (bromance!) and LOOK AT WHAT I’VE FOUND

Sometimes I love this forum.
I didn’t use the forums for good 6 months after buying the game if not more. All because I visited warrior subforums and general discussion once. Forgive me the assumption, good people!
Why do you do this to yourself.
Just got him stuck into a corner mid-shadowstep just sitting there being invisible and doing nothing for quite a while.
Mezmer would be more lively to play than necro imo.
Heh. Lively.
I wrote a long reply with some funny causes mentioned in it about how my EU Arah runs were mostly smooth and fine but forum decided to log me off right as I tried to reply.
Gotta keep in mind that the whole fiery rushing is that op only in coordinated groups. So before nerfing the elite I’d rather see some new content and whether it allows itself to be solved by FGS.
But yeah, getting way off topic.
Just give FGS a damage dealt cap instead of uses Kappa.
Still got no invite. I’m in 4 guild so I’m supposed to have the last spot open, right?
Fyonna’s autos bounce. Unless I was high every time I soloed her. Which is a possibility but I am really sure they bounce.
You dont even need adrenal health. Just dodge the auto attack fairly regularly and healing signet is enough.
I take it just in case Morrigu decides to stick to me.
Yeah Fyonna barely does any damage now. Takes like 2-3 minutes to kill with adrenal health.
Trying to sell sneakers to a Nike factory here bud.
I’m not exactly sure what you mean with “unique interacting skills”.
Forced usage of what’s given to you by the puzzle rather than what’s your class armed with. Underwater fractal, guild rushes, etc.
We’re nearly completely bipolar so there’s little to discuss. I got your point, you probably got mine, I find mine superior and not really going to change my mind. Both of them have no impact on future developments of Guild Wars 2 so I’ll stop here.
This thread title should be changed to ‘the forums are still terrible’
What are you talking about they’re great. Remove the filter and they’re amazing. I need this pointless chatter in my life.
Well, that’s interesting. I almost feel like rerolling Arah till I get one.
But there are probably better things to do with my life.
Difficulty is kinda irrelevant here. My single/multiple solutions or reactionary puzzle points still stand.
So you’re saying that you’d rather have a completely flat corridor, than a corridor that features a simple ledge you have to jump on to?
Taking it to extremes here.
Basically yes.
I’d prefer there was another boss on the way rather than a series of jumps/triggers or something.
With bosses you check its current action, compare it to known states of the boss, check state of your party and have a variety of counteractions to that: move, use one of your relevant combat skills, let’s say 6-10 depending on class, weapon sets, party specifics and boss design and evade. You could add jump to this if we follow some of the late boss designs (shockwaves, etc). Pickup kits might be or might be not present to perform some unique action that counters X state of the boss.
A puzzle can involve movement, which might involve swiftness and class movement skills depending on design. Checking states of objects, interacting with objects with or without picking options, using pickup items to interact with objects in unique way.
What I’m leading this to, is that this is a combat-oriented game. Designing an encounter reliant on combat skills will be more interesting that an encounter reliant exclusively on movement skills and interactions with objects due to a larger amount of possible action-counteraction sequences in first and more variables involved as well.
The more unique interacting skills you add to the puzzle the less your combat class become relevant which is in my opinion bad design. The more conditions requiring you to use combat skills you add to a puzzle the more it becomes unclear why didnt you just use the ideas to design a boss rather than a puzzle.
If anything, an encounter could be a hybrid, like the last boss of Underground facility. But it’s not always clear where to draw a line where interacting with environmental equipment becomes an annoying distraction from combat rather thana logical step.
A series of jumps becomes redundant once the fastest route is learned. A puzzle with a unique generated solution each time is way too much of an adstraction to judge if it’s going to become a hassle during repeated runs or a fun change of activity in each specific design.
Bosses do grow obsolete as well, and least resistance/fastest ways of clearing become known. But there still are more variables involved between runs, such as individual combat stats, amount of players and their classes.
Platforming will be replayed by less players than combat.
So yes, I’d rather have a pretty corridor of bosses and minions between them whether it’s narrow or wiggly. It’s a safer bet that we’ll recieve something pleasant to replay this way.
