So how excited is everyone for tomorrow’s ranger guide livestream?
Just got infracted for sarcasm. :<
lolsame
I got three Entropies from champion chests I got soloing various Arah stuff, two of them back to back. Also one from a champion during Arah gates chain.
I still feel that my point is pretty strong.
Guess I’ll just try to convince people to hacknslash through them if I join more parties and see how it goes.
Definitely not worth the hassle if done slow, should be worth it if done quick.
Also if someone goofed the run through the silvers and lost his stacks.
There are some handy rocks on the way to particularly LoS them in and which I also used to whirl into solo. But they tend to use ranged attacks as openers so quick pulling might be not so possible.
The problem is people might farm the start of dungeons repeatedly with that kind of incentive.
and what is the problem with that? is still better than farming champions in huge zerg trains… at least they will have to do “something” being only 5 and not 50.
Do you seriously not see?
healing power is underrated
This is the second best thing I saw today.
Also first song sounds so oddly familiar. Is that 403 Forbiddena?
It’s from a group called (Ryu-)5150
Ah, thanks.
Melodic metall and japanese english isn’t that frequent of a combination.
I was thinking of these guys http://youtu.be/EGQIHXN7fBQ
Just tried it now, they took me between 3-4 minutes to kill solo, dropped 10 heavy bags and ~10 silver worth of other loot.
I’d say it’s pretty worth compared to the rest of the path given a group does it in one or one and a half minute with good pulling.
Oh yeah, I was at 121% mf.
Those at the camp drop lower tier bags and obviously would take a lot longer oh dear this beyond the point anyway.
Point was that most people try to run dungeons in cost efficient-way and this might be one of those ways but is being neglected due to old customs.
The cat noises tho.
It’s all about Heavy bags, which drop plenty with magic find.
I believe this particular alley might be worth it to cleave through now, given high damage present and mediocre coordination .
There is only a bunch of silver + champion spiders a bit to the right right after the detonator, which don’t even agro unless you walk into them. Rest of risen are all normal.
Well, other than that?
Oh I guess none, why did I even ask, I am silly.
Recently joined some p2 lfgs for no real reason but “why not?”
Anyway, point is, people still used the detonator killing a horde of normal risen, which made sense before, but now when everyone has 100%+ magic find is there really a reason?
I mean, all of them die in 2-6 attacks, don’t massively pull and can drop loot.
People usually do. Sometimes they can just forget though. Or be in a hurry. Or be a male genitalia.
Pugging fractals on a Warrior isn’t nearly as fun as it sounds. To get through any +20? Fractal in any sort of orderly manner you need someone with a brain controlling the projectile reflection/absorption, I really wish I’d levelled a Guardian or Mesmer in Fractals. Because when you’re standing on a tiny platform whilst getting whaled on by half a dozen flying Archers, there’s only one thing stopping you from dying and it certainly isn’t any sort of combination of Endure Pain/Shield Block/Balanced Stance/Dolyak Signet. It’s praying that the dipstick two platforms back staff auto attacking will come up and drop a Wall of Reflection/Shield of the Avenger/or even some godkitten Aegis. Don’t get me wrong, Warrior certainly has it’s place if you have a decent Guardian, but fractals without some sort of projectile defence is kitten near suicide.
/mytwocents
Pretty much this, except I am still considering getting back into fractals on my warrior even if it runs a slight chill down my spine.
Rushed up to 39 when I started doing FotM, where the realisation came that I am slowly getting less and less of control on the situation and more hoping to get carried. Plus I also burned out since I was doing 2-4 levels a day, simply wanted to progress.
There’s still some room to take care of yourself, but…
Get 10 000 infractions.
This is the second best thing I saw today.
Also first song sounds so oddly familiar. Is that 403 Forbiddena?
I’ve only ever caught Arah gates and Dwayna chains untouched by the mob. Was cool, but I believe Arah gates are not soloable.
Giant summons adds every 25% (?) which I didn’t seem to be able burst faster than they did that to me, stopms way more often when there are no people ranging him and the respawning catapults don’t help at all.
High Wizard “mesmer” stance is quite brutal but I only had 2 goes at it.
We could skip lupi every time we did p1 or p2, but we don’t, because it’s one of the few actually fun boss fights in the game (especially with Vevina gone).
Temple bosses are awesome!
But so hard to catch uncrowded.
If you want a reliable character for dungeons avoid elementalist at all costs.
Don t choose a gimmick profession based on glitches and awful outside that.
You just what.
Now that you mention it, yes it was probably next to the door.
Still, I’m paranoid now.
You probably kicked the instance starter.
Instances reset when the starter leaves the party in any way other than other members leaving.
The more you know.
He once reset on me when I was pinning him to the wall.
Absolutely no idea how that happened, but he just randomly healed to p1 and started casting grubs.
Since then I don’t put him against a wall.
Yeah, he sometimes stops using Blast along with the Necrid trap when you stand inside of him, but I can’t say it’s reliable. Maybe it’s just me rubber-banding, not getting the right positioning though.
Great. Thanks for the help.
It takes some time until Jotun initially appears. You can easily get some Crystals in. Even easier if you fail because he won’t turn hostile until you talk to him allowing you host a tea party.
Well isn’t that wonderful.
Do the reflects do enough damage to kill him without sneaking autoattacks in though? I barely remember the encounter, didn’t do this one for a long while.
Guys, guys.
So after I akitten the ooze, kited the entities, paid some randoms to do tar with me and fed Lupicus a grub, do I just grab 5 stones and reflect Jotun’s spheres of pain till he dies?
And if that’s all, how am I supposed to stack the stones at the center of the room, since, you know, giant fire ring?
So many hurt butts.
On the topic of general path selling, do people actually buy arah4 from lfg?
Was kinda annoying to spend a plenty of time duoing it only to spend an hour getting no buyers.
Only managed to sell it twice and it wasn’t a full party even.
Not really, nope, not at all.
Given we’re speaking of your usual AC 5 random guys party – nooooooooooooo, just get done with the path and run away.
I almost feel like paying one of those guys.
Been soloing paths for a few weeks and I still don’t know a single way to skip Lupicus.
Shame on me!
I don’t quite correlate the two statements.
I am pretty experienced in ranging Lupicus, how do I join?
“No” would be a great bet.
It doesnt really ruin the economy because the gold earned is taken from buyers. Its just changing hands.
Dungeon generates gold, too!
You don’t get rewarded more for the fact that you’ve passed a group instance solo. The only way to solve this with what we have in our hands is to sell the instance.
Whether the one passing the instance deserves the reward at all though is a different question.
Looking at the price lists, I’m glad I have my two different players to buy from…
One sells for 4 gold a run, so I lose out on a little less than 1 gold
The other sells for 3 gold a run, so I actually end up gaining a few silver.Of course this is path 2, and I usually don’t buy any more, because I just wanted my shards for bifrost, but I might continue and get a full set of skins
Considering current arah token conversion rate, 4g is pretty much zero loss.
Jussayin’
Why does noone ever buy my p4.
All those grenth priests slain for nothing.
Craaaaaaaawling in my skin.
A run of 38 fractals (I believe swamp-colossus-volcano) where noone ever spoke and did everything right.
Those guys were awesome. I’d love to not talk to them some time again.
Sometimes I conjure an ice bow with my ele an use one of my ogre pets whistles in dungeons.
And sometimes…
Only sometimes.
I get a bear.
The Bearbow Ele.
lol genius… it make me wanna be a bearbow warrior, of course, full Cleric actively healing with heal banner 2; why not.
So chill, so united with nature.
Do they bully Randall and tell him to stop being a useless kitten?
They didn’t just DC. The instance only closes if the owner leaves party or if they log in on another character.
Truth
Since when? (I’m not arguing, I don’t know.)
I used to run longbow ranger for pugging CoF 1 back when we had character based token rewards.
Just stand at 1500 range, stack whatever might I could with rampage, keep frost spirit to myself.
Solo whole acolyte event without getting agro.
So chill, so united with nature.
I fail to comprehend how selling runs makes finding a group impossible.
Hey, he’s at least thinking in the right direction.
I was referring to my post, in fact yours is still there within a quote.
Threads with with slight variations of this idea are created at moderate frequence.
I don’t really know why am I typing this, but let’s go through some quick points.
- It’s not critical analysis, it’s subjective analysis, let’s not get too deep into this.
- Stacking is a combat technique which makes it irrelevant to rest of your points.
- Whilst it’s true that the reward is the main reason making people rush through the dungeon, the quests themself are quite pinpoint. You’re not going in to hack and slash every living or undead being inside, you’re going in with a specific reason, be it sabotaging something or investigating, which are solved through getting X from Y to Z. You don’t need to kill every single guard to sabotage the whole objective, you go for the leader, deciding to kill the henchmen is your personal choice and is rewarded in form of usual loot.
- Creating additional rewards for clear percentage is moving us further from our (sometimes ironic, yet somewhat actual) motto of “play how you want”. Currently clearing the dungeon fast and narrow or poking your head in every single room rewards you the same, outside of the loot, which full clearing would net more. Your way would hurt people playing dungeons current “special ops” style by getting a lesser reward. Which at best leads to even more group separation due to different levels of clearing accepted.
There are more but I gotta sleep.
Now this infraction made literally no sense.
This forum is such a mystery.
You seriously shouldn’t have mentionned stacking.
