Can people stop telling Anet to use GMT? Its a game made by a NA developer, operating out of the west coast in Pacific time, and will use pacific time. Why should Americans have to figure out what GMT equals in their time zone?

Why should the rest of the world have to figure out PDT? GMT is the international standard, not PDT. The international standard doesn’t change based on “where you operate”.

Americans don’t deal with GMT time, why should we have to?

Dense is dense but stay with me here and try this out for size… it may actually make it past the skull, seeing your own words to spell it out for you…

Europeans don’t deal with PDT time, why should WE have to?

IE Anet wouldn’t kill anyone to say “xyz time PDT (XYZ GMT/ XYZ UTC)” would that really irk an American so much?

From what I can tell it looks like no one else in this thread, Barr Branskins, understands what the OP was asking.

When using Mobile Authentication the client, if you have auto log in enabled, does not have the text entry field set to receive input automatically. So when the input field arrives you have to move the mouse… select the ####### box & then you can type the code.

I support the suggestion 100%. Having to move my mouse to select the input field is just annoying as I know that without it I would have less RSI inducing steps to get into the game.

Darkorical search the forums for gauth4win I think you’ll like what you find, or even read down the beta thread page.

I’m the one undercutting you on the TP by 1 copper, its just business, don’t take it personally.

It’s only a profitable business when you can sell the item for more than its constituent parts though. The problem with most everything that you can sell that’s crafted, is your 99.99% of the time better off selling the items that made it for a bigger profit.

I saw Loaf of Omnomberry Bread go from 4s each to 1s 80c in less than 6 hours due to successive people adding 1 more loaf the to pile for 1c less. The end result is the guy/gall selling for 1s 80c should have not bothered making the thing and sold its parts instead. Any argument made to say they are made to level crafting is out with Omnomberry Bread seeing as they are 400 cook recipe.

Report feature would be much easier to use with a “Suspected Botter” report option.

It took long enough to get a “Gold Selling” report option so i’m not holding my breath that a Suspected Botter will arrive any time soon.

Until the botter option becomes available can you really blame people reporting on the forums? You harp on how using the report feature incorrectly can result in a ban for those reporting but then don’t give those reporting the tools in-game (option to report botter directly) to report with the correct heading.

I'm thankful for the number of replies here.

As of yet we haven’t had patch notes (update notes as Anet call them) ahead of the downtime. Maybe today would be a good day to buck the trend and join the ranks of the other mmo’s who give us notes ahead of the downtime?

+1 for a nightly server reset until the bugs and DE that get stuck can be ironed out.

The Scritt DE in Brisban at the Invariant base that are currently bugged out was working previously as was the skillpoint at the Wayfarer Foothill hot springs.

The skillpoint alone being bugged is enough to stop people from getting 100%. Which is a bit of a slap in the face considering that others are currently running around with 100% completion.

Loving the information (charts = nom nom nom) but…

Where are Vabbi, Desolation, Ring of Fire, Piken Sq charts? Thats 4 worlds off the top of my head missing a chart there’s possibly others too.

I don’t waypoint anywhere unless its from one end of lions arch to another as I can’t afford it and still hope to get on level gear (currently 71 with lvl 50 gear as gearing up is too expensive.)

Gaile I know its not a suggestion forum thread but could you possible see while your checking, if there is any way that an IP range for country could be added to the (remember this location) feature. That way it still offers decent protection for those of us with dynamic ip’s or who travel a lot locally without having to check emails every login.

Those three alone could have been merged or better yet merged into an Official Anet post dedicated to discussing gold sellers and RMT which is also stickied. That would have had the added advantage of not having any further threads locked and kept in the thread lists. Duplicate topic threads could be moved thus removing clutter from the boards as each subsequent thread could have been moved into the Master Gold Selling thread.

Your points are valid, I guess in essence it all boils down to how we use forums as individuals. Personally unless a thread degrades into flame’s and trolling or hate speech I’m personally of the opinion that it can carry on.

Your also right that few people would read a really long thread but two pages? I’d consider a really long thread to be 20-30 pages long and a theradnaught to be in the 100’s.

But as I already said I think our differing opinions boil down to the different ways we individually use forums. I personally just would rather the CC team ease off the trigger fingers and let irrelevant threads die out naturally and devote there attention to threads where they are needed to moderate and action posts.

Pandemoniac of the thread locks lately by CC Eva (sorry Eva Its not personal) how many had degenerated into arguments?

I do agree that you could start another topic if it’s relevant, however does that not go against what Eva states she is locking threads for (to keep the forums neat and tidy?). Does it not also run the risk of getting locked once you have an answer? Therefore once again stifling the flow of information?

What annoys me more than the lack of events failing is being able to run from opposite ends of the map and never seeing a single event.

Maybe I’m just doing it wrong, but I don’t see how people are managing to do so much event content when I can barely find any.

I’m against the arbitrary locking of threads ‘because the op’s question was answered’. There’s no need to lock them types of thread (Looking at you CC Eva!), yes the op may have gotten his/her answer but that is not an indication that the thread has no more useful life left in it.

Many times in various BB’s have I seen a thread started by one person with a question move on to actually become something massive (eg discovery of a massive exploit or indication of a problem somewhere), that until that thread was allowed to grow went unnoticed. Killing threads that are not full of flame bait or hate is IMO a waste of resources.

At worst if a thread is not relevant it will usually die a natural death anyway.

I’m with illgot! All I would like is something half decent for a female thief in the dungeon sets, even the heritage set looks odd on her. None that I’ve previewed as of yet have that cloak and dagger feel to them. Yet the male stuff looks epic in most cases. Ditch the chain-mail bikini ideas and billowy skirts, get some proper robes and leathers in.

In a way I’m kinda glad I rolled a female toon because now I have 0 reason to grind my life away doing dungeons for %-ugly armor.

The Eye Of The Beholder [TEOTB] on Ring of Fire is not fixed regardless of what devs want to say. Leader can’t access stash nor change emblem. Day 2 of this issue and when I read about how others have had it for so much longer I can’t help but wonder if Anet are spread a little too thin to get the game working properly, what with all the launch issues and such they had.

Our guild leader (Jadis Stone) can’t even access the guild bank nor change our emblem, even though I as an officer can (access bank that is). Guild: Eye of the Beholder [EOTB] on Ring of Fire.

This morning however before the Emblem upgrade finished in the queue he was able to access the bank.

KidneyCarver I hate to make you feel even worse than you already may do, but, it was first raised on the 1st September.

All I can say is that if all else fails do consider your options and don’t be shy to announce what your considering. I can’t say with any certainty that this thread helped but one things certain, it helped me vent my frustration in a way that ranting and raving would not have helped had I gone down that path. It also helps serve as a distraction from pressing F5 on the support page if nothing else!

Brother was just calling me to let me know he was late setting off for the bank and asked me to quickly check if any news before he went.

I won’t come all cap in hand begging forgiveness et-al. I stand by what I said re chargebacks.

Drintar, yes they admitted their mistake, as for naming another company who did so… CCP during the Jita Riots, that even had the CEO posting public apologies left right and centre.

A final thought Drintar, not that I want to be argumentative but my brother never used the email associated with GW2 for WoW or registered with fan sites for GW2. He’s the epitome of a casual gamer and an idiot when it comes to the internet. With no idea he was even hacked until I explained what had happened to him. Even now has never been onto GW2guru, I’m the addled fan who visits all that stuff.

As I already said he could have had a stronger password but that’s all I can really say with any certainty. And unless anyone here posting are the hackers or sat in on the Anet security meetings anything you offer contrary to that is pure speculation on your part.

Good luck with that. Just a little bit of advice, you wont get your money back. You purchased a product and have used it, the product works like it said it would do.

The problem of you being hacked has nothing to do with that. Youll just have to wait around a bit till they fix the problem for you. Be glad your not paying 15 euros a month and dont bother the rage.

No rage, just an expression of thoughts and opinions as is the meaning of the word forum.

As for chargeback not working, my brother paid for a service not a product. If the service is being denied him then he is within his rights to chargeback regardless of the hows or whys.

I wish we was paying £15 a month for the service, maybe anet would have half decent support in place and actually act on tickets rather than make like an ostrich and bury there head in the sand.

I appreciate your trying to help Freyar, however admitting that a stronger password could have been used does not equate to accepting blame or liability.

Logically I agree that there are no hoops either, however ticket submitted… responded as requested to. Waited days and now see people posting ticked dated 3rd and 4th September who have their account back and are in game. So I can’t help but get emotive about it and use the hoops of fire analogy to express how the entire debacle of support is making not only my brother but also I feel.

Performing a chargeback will get them to block his account and possible the IP. Meaning that if he lives in the same house as you, then you’ll probably loose access as well. See the ToS.

Source? I’ve scoured the ToS and admittedly may have missed it but as far as I can tell there is nothing about all accounts using an ip being banned. Should that be the case though then I feel bad for any students on a university network.

If Anet want to ban my account and my partners along with having my brothers hacked. All for failure to resolve a hacked account dispute and because my brother chargebacks. Then anet will have to deal with even more chargebacks from me and my partner too (plus a chargeback for each gem purchase).

Business is not instant. It never has been. It’s a co-operation between so many different people that have so many different parts. Business, between a company and a customer (or even between two people) is a two-way street. Now, you might say you’ve been getting “zero” help here, but with accounts starting to get moving, now would be the worst possible time to do something that would permanently damage the business relationship.
Is it bad that ArenaNet didn’t have the support structure in place? Absolutely, but they are getting things moving and it will only get faster here on out.
Keep in mind that ArenaNet would likely block ALL accounts associated with one that issued a chargeback. If you share a connection, you’re at risk. Future account/license purchases are at risk as well.

Yes I have been first to admit that my brother could have picked a stronger password. Yes the ‘hack’ may be down to his initial failures to ensure the safety of his account.

However after jumping through Anets hoops like a circus sideshow act and to receive no support it is a bit much to insinuate that we are the guilty party here for not jumping through the hoops at the right time or correct hight.

Next Anet will be saying that to get support you need to jump through a hoop of fire while wearing a suit doused in petrol. Then later adding that if that suit is pink instead of blue you’ll need to re-jump the hoops of fire because they can only offer support to people jumping flaming hoops in blue suits.

Freyar – Shame to lose a customer, only on anets side, brother is fast losing the will to even care that he can’t play. He could have been a little gem mine for anet to pluck away at for years, now they won’t even get his initial purchase let alone gem payments.

SoPP I agree they are doing the best they can, and that its quite possible my brother is a very small minority who have fallen through the cracks of support, unfortunately that’s not good enough nor acceptable as an excuse.

My brother is not being unreasonable. He followed their advice to the letter. What did it get him? naff all. If Anet/Ncsoft can’t/won’t stump up the cash for a decent support service (including telephone and live chat), then what can they expect from those of us who do not get resolution.

All around us we see people saying on the forums they are no longer hacked and back in game and with tickets created AFTER ours. So what do they really expect from us the patience of a saint?

Moving the goal posts only serves as a delaying tactic. If people have followed your suggestions to the letter, do not punish them for your failures and consign them to the eternal nether of support obscurity.

All faith that Anet support will ever even get round to my brothers account is now totally lost.

He will be visiting the bank at noon when he gets a break and demanding a cahrgeback. You can argue with the bank over who is in the wrong, you can also be sure that both support tickets are being printed out showing nothing from Anet other than one! copy paste response. Which will be left with the bank.

Just so you can save the effort of typing out a response asking for ticket numbers they are as follows….

Final thought to others reading this, if your in the same boat then stuff Anet.. Do a chargeback. Voting with your wallet is the ONLY way we, as customers, can send a message directly to the head of the company who owns Anet (Ncsoft) that this is not acceptable service.

I was giving them until tommorrow to have mine fixed, I have already contacted my CC company and gave them a heads up on this issue and told them I would give the company a couple more days to straighten this up…….the operator knew exactly what charge it was before I was even done telling her my story…..she had already had several calls already about the same thing.

If enough people do it Anet will do a lot more than have meetings about resolution. The best way to motivate a company into action is to play with their profits by voting with your wallet. As an example look at the Eve Online – Jita Riots, never has a company acted so quickly to stop the sinking of its flagship as CCP did those few weeks.

FWIW their choice of wording is… ‘We have now completed prioritized requests submitted prior to Sunday, September 2’ (prior is not an inclusive term, ergo tickets prioritized on the 1st).

your ticket was created on the 4th September (indicated by the first 6 digits in YYMMDD format). Even if it’s prioritized correctly it’s not before the 2nd therefore won’t be looked at for a day or two yet at the earliest.

It would be nice to know if support are working round the clock or not. As there is only so many times I can hit F5 on the ticket page (not that anything is likely to happen in the next week that hasn’t already happened, ie: automated reply calling for more information!)

Bellok, You mean like Adolf Crirtler as a name or those using the N- word or dire homophobic, sexist or even racial bile?

There are certain things that no leeway should be allowed, First and foremost it’s a game (even more apt is its a high fantasy game, there is no America, EU, or North Korea et-al) nationalistic ideals, religion and hate speech should be left at the door.

The devs have been quite clear the odd F-Bomb is acceptable in which case yes using Block/Ignore is fine. I think before anyone gets uppity about a 14 day ban we should consider that what was said may have actually warranted it. Especially when you consider some things said are illegal in certain territories (eg Hitler jokes/ comments in Germany). With the potential if left unpunished could in extreme circumstances remove Anets rights to have the game live in that place.

BTW I was assuming that you were not banned but using the word you to refer to those who are banned for language infractions.

Bellok, No but you knew what the rules are seeing as how we all agreed to them with the ToS and EULA, while I agree 14 days is a bit harsh, I also think that if your language was kept in check with nothing deliberately offensive or inflammatory said you wouldn’t be facing any bans be it 3 of 14 day. So the entire point is moot, Or if you please… Do unto others as you would have done unto yourself.

Also getting spam mail in game noticed that it comes the second I log in and then occasionally when I rezone. Having a /report function or even a button in the mail directly would be helpful. Also a block feature built in too
